Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Supergirl put an end to the battle with General Luthor and Myriad by taking control of the Element of Earth, and using it to somehow free Myriad from General Luthor's control. Myriad was apparently grateful for this, because when Malefor finally arrived, she told him that Supergirl freed her from General Luthor's control, and Malefor agreed to grant some amnesty in that moment, and just left to deal with General Luthor's treason rather than exterminate everyone. So, how does the third book of the Crisis wrap up? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up back at the Tower, now back in building form in National City, where Supergirl, Superman, and Martian Manhunter are just casually using the Elements they've been infused with as Spyro, Cynder, Flash, Batwoman, and the Superfriends watch on)

Sentinel: No matter how much weird shit I'm exposed to from this job, I never cease to be amazed.

Toyman: That makes two of us.

Cynder: I'm still trying to figure out exactly what Kara did out there.

Supergirl: I'm... not entirely sure myself. Beyond figuring out what activates my strength.

Cynder: That being?

Supergirl: Wanting to protect those I care about. How it took me this long to realize it, I have no idea.

Spyro: Probably because you've been doing it innately for so long that uncovering a reason was never necessary.

Supergirl: That... makes a lot of sense.

Spyro: And you put it to great practice. The technique you used on Myriad was only theoretical!

Martian Manhunter: What was it anyways?

Spyro: It was a Healing technique. It's probable that the Element of Earth out of all of them can pull off some healing move, but I've never seen it in practice until now. Kara, once we finish this deal with Malefor, you and I need to meet with Terrador and trade notes!

Supergirl: I'll pencil it into the schedule.

(At this point, the familiar sound of the Waverider's engines can be heard as the ship pulls up outside the Tower)

Superman: Looks like our ride is here.

Martian Manhunter: Then we'd best get moving.

Supergirl: You sure you can handle things while I'm gone?

Sentinel: (Looking around at the rest of the Superfriends) With this group by my side? How can I fail?

Toyman: We won't let you down, Kara.

Supergirl: Thanks everybody.

Cynder: Well then, shall we?

(Getting an affirming nod from the rest of the room, Spyro, Cynder, Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl, Superman, and Martian Manhunter board the Waverider, and it takes off into the skies, leaving National City behind as the scene transitions back to the conquered Dragon Realms, where Malefor and the remaining Dark Knights: Red Death, Myriad, Dark Archer, Black Siren, and Painkiller confront General Luthor)

Malefor: (Enraged) YOU DARE TO BETRAY ME, LUTHOR?!

General Luthor: Working with you, showed me exactly why my alternate versions disliked Superman. Everything I wanted I've had to achieve myself. Did you really think I was going to take a handout from an overgrown grape lizard?!

Painkiller: Oh, you just signed your death warrant, Luthor.

Malefor: No, Painkiller. Such swift mercies are not for the likes of traitors. (Turns to Myriad) Nor those already on their last legs with me...

Myriad: (Falling to her knees) Forgive me, Lord Malefor. I know I have failed you, but the reasons were clear.

Black Siren: Now this I have to hear.

Myriad: One of our own turning on us was treated as such a far removed probability that I discounted any situation where it occurred. Such an error will not occur again.

Malefor: (Growls) Ordinarily, I'd have a zero tolerance policy for this sort of thing, but knowing I spared Thawne here after he failed, I will grant you some mercy there, Myriad. You will join Thawne at my side, not to leave unless I order it.

Myriad: I am forever grateful for your mercy, my lord.

Malefor: In the meantime, Merlyn, you will take command of operations from this point.

Dark Archer: I won't let you down, boss.

Malefor: You had best not. (Looking back to General Luthor) Meantime, I do believe we have a traitor to deal with.

General Luthor: What more can you do to me? I'm dying already! It's not like you can do much worse!

Malefor: If there's one thing you should know about me by now, Luthor, it's that I can always do worse...

(As Malefor's eyes glow, energy courses through General Luthor, causing him to scream in nothing but pain as the scene ends)

The Story Continues in Elemental Crisis Book IV: The Book Of Cold Hearts

And that looks like a good place to wrap up Book III. We're halfway through the story now, only three Books left to go. Dark Archer is now in charge of Malefor's operations and three more Elements have been mastered. That just leaves Ice, Fear, and Poison in the wind. Going forward, Book IV should be a shorter one, since we only have one Element bearer this time, Black Lightning. So, how does the second half of the story begin? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
