07/11/1996.

Wednesday.

Hermione was still crying.

And that made Severus feel bad.

He knew that she was crying for the book and he was undecided whether to give it back to her.

He slowly left where he was standing and approached her. "Miss Granger." he said quietly.

Hermione was startled by the voice she heard and turned her head to look where the voice came from. When she saw Severus Snape a short distance away, she immediately gathered herself and wiped her tears. "Professor?" she said as she got up from the rock.

"May I ask what you are crying for?"

Her face turned tearful again, but she collected herself. "I can't find my book."

Severus didn't want her to be upset and cry anymore. So he reached into the inside pocket of his robe and pulled out the book. "Are you looking for this book?"

Hermione was very happy to see her book in his hand. "My book!" She quickly approached and took the book from his hand. Yes, it was her own book. "Have you had my book all this time?"

"Yes."

There was a big smile of gratitude on her face as she looked at him. "Thank you very much, Professor."

"You're welcome," he said, and for a moment he wasn't sure whether to say it or not. "Can I borrow it?"

She was surprised. "What do you want to borrow?"

"The book."

She took a brief look at the book in her hand and looked at him again. "Why do you want to borrow my book?"

"When I found the book, I noticed the writings in it. I want to read it."

Hermione was getting more and more surprised. Did Severus Snape want to read her book? "But it's very complicated inside."

"I still want to read the book." he said and raised his famous eyebrow. "Of course, if you don't want to give it away, that's different."

She slowly shook her head from side to side and slowly handed the book to him. "Of course you can read it, Professor."

As Severus reached out and took the book, his fingers touched her fingers.

They made eye contact.

"I need this book, so when can I get it back?" she asked curiously.

A small smile appeared on Severus' face as he caressed a small part of her fingers with his finger. "I can return it within 2 days."

She was excited when she felt his fingers on hers, but since they were in an open place in the land, she slowly withdrew her hand. "Okay."

Severus put the book back into the inside pocket of his robes and pulled out another book. "You should read this book too." he said, handing over the book.

Hermione was excited to see a new book and quickly reached out and picked it up. It said 'The oldest Anti-Dark Arts defensive spells.'

Her eyes opened wide. This book was so rare that it had only a few editions in the world. "But this book is so rare!"

"I know," The corner of his mouth slowly lifted. "I'd like you to read it."

Hermione looked at him with her big smile. "I always wanted to read this book! Thank you so much."

"You're welcome." he said and watched her looking at the book with excitement. He could see the tears standing on her cheek. His hand itched to wipe them away.

He couldn't help himself and slowly reached out and put his hands on her cheeks.

Hermione looked at him in surprise. "Professor?"

Severus slowly began to wipe the tears from her cheeks with his thumbs. Meanwhile, he was aware that he was caressing her cheeks. "You were still in tears."

Her hands instinctively went to her cheeks but found his hands instead.

When he felt her delicate hands, he felt strange. "Never cry again, Miss Granger, crying doesn't suit you."

She involuntarily bit her lower lip for a moment. "But there are times when I feel sad. Should I not cry at those times too?" she asked as she pulled her hands back.

"They say crying is a beautiful thing, but I don't think crying suits you."

Because she knew she was ugly. "Because I look so ugly when I cry."

"No," he said quietly. "You become more beautiful when you smile."

Hermione was even more surprised. It was very surprising to hear this from him. She was excited and happy. "Then I'll always laugh, Professor."

He smiled slightly and caressed her cheeks for the last time and pulled his hands back even though he didn't want to. "Let's change the books after 2 days."

"Okay," he said quietly, still reeling from the events. "Good afternoon, Professor."

"Good afternoon, Miss Granger." He said and took a few steps back, turned around and started walking away.

Hermione was watching him leave.

She literally felt like she was about to faint from excitement right now.

What had just happened?

Wasn't Severus very kind? I think I'm in love with him now.
