Chapter 10: School Trip, Capsule Corp
AN: Hello all, bet you weren't expecting me back this quick huh. Firstly as always I want to thank everyone who reviewed the last chapter, favorited or added the story to alert lists. This chapter is actually a lot longer than I expected it to be but I wanted the chapter to exist in the moment and tried really hard not to summarize. I've seen a few of the Gohan's class goes to Capsule Corp fics and this was me trying my hand at it, though its part of a bigger thing. Anyway that's all I've got so here is the new chapter.
Also for those wondering Lime is a character introduced in DBZ anime just prior to the Cell Games. She was the little girl Gohan saved, the same episode where he casually blew up that shelter to show people they were being scammed.

Gohan groaned, the sound lost within the large room as the radio played loudly covering up the noise. His hands fisted into the sheets as he did his best not to move them from the bed he found himself sitting. Lime, Vasha and Sarada stood around him, the latter of whom wore a scowl that would make Vegeta proud. He understood this though, she'd pointed out that it made no sense for her to leave Capsule Corp, where she lived, to take a bus back to Capsule Corb with the class. The schools stance however was that she would be considered absent if she didn't make the trip with the rest of the class and while Sarada was fine with that his mother hadn't been and had informed her that she would make the trip with the rest of the class or would be missing meals for a week.
Erasa was the first of their new friends to arrive, skipping towards them with a big smile on her face. She'd switched out her purple jeans and green halter top in exchange for a pair of black jeans and a red t-shirt with a large white spider design taking up the center of the shirt. She greeted them all brightly as usual, Sarada even losing her scowl due to the blonde's infectious energy. Sharpner was the next to arrive and while not as bubbly as Erasa it was clear he too was looking forward to the trip. He wore a pair of blue jeans and a sleeveless pull-over collard shirt which looked small with his muscular build.
Videl was as always the last to arrive, she'd ditched her usual t-shirt and spandex compression shorts, instead wearing a pair of blue jeans that looked painted on and a pink hoodie with the Turtle School logo in white on the upper left side of her chest. Her boots had also changed as while still the same style instead of being green with the black heel and toe the booths she wore replaced the green with pink. While she still wore her gloves, and her hair was still in the low pigtails this outfit somehow came off as less threatening. Upon seeing the group her face flushed a bright red and she moved to the stand next to Erasa without a word.
They only had to wait for around ten minutes after Videl arrived before being allowed to board the bus. Sarada and Vasha were the first on board followed swiftly by Videl and Erasa before Gohan and Sharpner did so as well. Seating was free to choose and as such Gohan soon found himself sitting in the back of the bus on the left with Sarada and Vasha on the other side of the aisle with Videl and Erasa in front of them. As the rest of the class settled into their seats they were informed that while by normal means a trip to West City would take around five hours, going by air as they were, would take them around an hour due to the size of their current vehicle and its slower speed.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!"
The loud exclamation cut through everything, even rousing Gohan from his nap. Looking towards it he could see Erasa turned and fully facing Videl while the brunette was massaging the bridge of her nose. Before he could find out what was going on Erasa turned her sight on him with a glare every bit as fierce as Videl could pull off.
"Have you lost your mind? What were you thinking suggesting something so stupid!" demanded Erasa.
"What are you talking about?" questioned Gohan.
"Korin Tower." Said Erasa.
"Oh that." Said Gohan.
"Wait a minute." Said Sharpner from his seat in front of Gohan pulling attention his way.
"Videl was talking about climbing Korin Tower in the dojo the other day. Are you saying that was your idea Gohan?" Said Sharpner his tone turning to surprise by the end.
"What are you guys so freaked out about now?" questioned Vasha.
"Climbing Korin Tower is impossible! That thing literally disappears into the clouds!" exclaimed Erasa.
"Do you guys have any idea how many people have tried to climb that thing and failed?" questioned Sharpner.
"Videl you have to stop and think about this! You can't risk your life just to learn how to fly!" exclaimed Erasa nearly in tears
"You two need to calm down." Said Gohan calmly bringing the attention of not just the two of them but everyone who was now paying attention to the conversation his way.
"Climbing Korin's Tower isn't about her learning how to fly, that's a different thing. I suggested that she climb Korin Tower because Videl wants to grow stronger, strong enough to protect people and join the E.S.D.F. Climbing the Tower would help with that and not just because of the Sacred Water. If she learned to fly before climbing the tower she would lose that chance to grow stronger." Said Gohan before attention was pulled to Videl.
"Look guys, I get you're worried and I appreciate it but it's not impossible. Master Roshi climbed Korin Tower in his youth and Gohan's dad climbed it when he was younger than us. Master Krillin already told me he wouldn't have agreed to me doing it if he didn't think I was ready." Said Videl getting a huff from Erasa before she sighed.
"Fine I'll support this latest bout of crazy, but you have to do the C.O.B shoot with me and Starlight." Said Erasa.
"ERASA!" exclaimed Videl
"Do it Videl!" exclaimed Sarada.
"I'm not a model!" exclaimed Videl.
"Come on, it will be like when we were kids!" exclaimed Erasa
Erasa eyes were resolute and shining with pure determination, she'd been trying to get Videl to join her in modeling for years. They'd both been trained for it, but Videl had wanted even less to do with it ever since her mother died when they were twelve. Instead she'd moved closer into the world of fighting especially after she moved into Satan House with her father.
"Do it Videl, we'll take care of you I promise." Said Lime.
"Okay, what am I missing now?" questioned Gohan.
"They're talking about fashion now. C.O.B stands for Clothes Over Bros, it's a fashion magazine and Starlight is a fashion show. They've both been trying to get Videl for the last few years and she always turns it down." Said Sharpner.
"Fine." Said Videl after a few more moments getting Erasa to squeal and hug her.
"Sharpner, Gohan don't think I didn't see you whispering over there. If I have to do this modelling stuff then you two are both competing in the Budokai with me, especially you Gohan since it was your idea that got me in this mess." Said Videl.
"Um Videl, isn't getting Gohan involved in that a little much. Sharpner I get but why Gohan?" questioned Erasa.
"Gohan's like me, his dad won the Budokai before the one my dad won, and he's been training longer than I have." Said Videl.
"Well if Gohan does it I'll compete as well, especially since I missed that tournament Mr. Money put on a few years ago." Said Vasha.
"Same here, sounds like fun." Said Lime before she and Vasha turned to look at Sarada.
"What kind of Tournament is this? It's not death matches right?" questioned Sarada.
"No, it's the one my mom always talks about." Said Gohan
"Oh, that one. Okay that does sound fun. I'm in." said Sarada
By the time that the bus touched down in the landing area in the Capsule Corp compound the teens had long since settled down and moved on to other conversations. Unknown to the seven of them the entire conversation from the time Erasa made her first loud exclamation had been recorded and posted online on social media going viral inside of just thirty minutes. The students only barely cleared the bus when a pair of speeding blurs caught their attention which revealed themselves to be Goten and Trunks.
"Gohan is it true!" exclaimed Trunks as the two of them came to a stop in front of the group.
"Are you really entering the Budokai?" questioned Goten almost bouncing in place due to excitement.
"Can we fight too Gohan?" questioned Trunks immediately after.
"Please, please, please!" said Goten.
"Ok, slow down you two, how do you know about that?" questioned Gohan.
"It's all over the place!" exclaimed Trunks reaching into his pocket.
"TRUNKS, GOTEN, INSIDE NOW!"
At the loud demand the group looked over to see Bulma Briefs marching towards them the sight of which caused the two boys to yelp before trying to run away only for Vasha to reach out and snag Goten while Sarada did the same with Trunks.
"Let me guess, you two ditched your lessons again." Said Gohan.
"But its so boring!" whined Trunks causing a few of the teens to snicker.
"I know, but I don't care. I did it all by myself, you two at least have each other. Go." Said
"But Gohan, what about the tournament?" questioned Goten.
"We'll talk about that later. Go on." Said Gohan causing both boys to smile before they began running back towards the building they emerged from.
"100 zeni says they came straight to Gohan." Said Lime quietly
"No bet." Said Sarada and Vasha simultaneously and just as quietly just as Bulma finally neared the group.
"Hi guys, welcome to Capsule Corp. Sorry about my son and godson, they can be a little excitable." Said Bulma.
"It's no problem Mrs. Briefs." Said the teacher/chaperone for the trip Professor Storm.
"Ok firstly everyone Mrs. Briefs is my mother; you'll meet her soon. Just call me Bulma, everyone around here does. So you guys will be here for a few hours and there are a few things I have planned for you to see. Before that we'll stop by the Receptionist so your temp badges can be handed out. Girls show them the way; I need to speak with Gohan for a minute." Said Bulma.
"Alright you heard her, follow us and we'll start the tour." Said Sarada.
"So three wasn't enough?" questioned Bulma teasingly.
"What are you talking about?" questioned Gohan warily.
"That Videl girl, she's your newest girlfriend right." Said Bulma causing Gohan to blush.
"She's not my girlfriend." Said Gohan.
"No she's just the girl I had to make you a suit to hide your identity from while you protected her from the bad guys." Said Bulma causing the blush to deepen.
"Anyway I didn't hold you back to tease you. A couple of King Fury's people are coming, looking for more information on the Red Ribbon Army and Cell. I wanted to get your opinion on how we would handle information about how we knew about the situation." Said Bulma.
"Did you ever get that Transmitter working after Trunks left?" questioned Gohan.
"Yeah, it doesn't work long though. Maybe five to ten minutes, though I have been tinkering with it to improve that." Said Bulma.
"Lets tell them the truth then. We can even show them how close we came to losing everything." Said Gohan.
"What about 17 and 18?" questioned Bulma.
"Well 17 is on Monster Island so he's out of the way. 18 is equally out of the way on Roshi's Island. Still we don't have to reveal the identities of the Androids just that they existed and that Dr. Gero created them along with Cell. Obviously we keep my involvement to a minimum as well. I say try to contact 18 though and get her opinion since she's the only one that can be reached right now." Said Gohan
"Actually I already spoke to her. You were the last one to know and everyone else didn't mind the truth being out. If you were set on keeping things secret we were willing to do that though. We all know how much you like your privacy about certain matters." Said Bulma getting Gohan to duck his head.
"Now you should know that conversation you had on the bus is all over the internet, everything from Videl climbing Korin's Tower to Sarada agreeing to enter the Budokai." Said Bulma causing Gohan's eyes to widen.
"I never agreed to enter but I have to admit I'm interested if only since dad won it once. Maybe the rest of the gang will enter." Said Gohan.
"That would be nice, just like old times." Said Bulma leading Gohan towards the building entrance.
Mr. Satan frowned as he rewatched the footage for what had to be the 20th time already. By this point he was ignoring much of the conversation, Videl had come to him with the Korin's Tower thing at the dojo after all. No, his attention was on the boy who gave her the suggestion to climb the tower in the first place. The camera never really focused on him, especially as he didn't do much talking and was in the very back, actually sitting in his seat.
The reveal that the boy was the son of Son Goku, the winner of the 23rd Budokai tournament gave his suggestion some credibility especially with the knowledge that Goku actually had climbed to the top of Korin's Tower. Still he didn't like that such a suggestion had been given to Videl by a boy, nor that she'd not only entertained the suggestion but was planning to go ahead and try it. He'd never even entertained the notion of doing something so suicidal, nor had he believed that the Sacred Water said to be at the top of the Tower even existed.
Reaching the top of the Tower however did go a long way towards someone learning how to fly, after all how else was anyone who made it to the top supposed to get down. Unbidden his mind jumped back to the Cell Games and all of the things he'd witnessed that day with the abilities that had been on display. He tried not to think about that day much, especially his ill-thought-out attempt to claim the credit after everything was over, though he wondered if that would have worked if Capsule Corp hadn't had satellites monitoring the event and broadcasting it live. Dismissing those thoughts he turned his attention back to the screen as the video started over once more.
The tour of Capsule Corp started in the Atrium just off the lobby where the students got to see animals roaming the space freely including some rather friendly dinosaurs. Dr. Briefs and Mrs. Briefs were both inside and greeted the students warmly and tables inside were covered in food which the teens took to eagerly. Four of the tables they were barred from, and they understood why as Lime, Sarada and Vasha all claimed a table to themselves with Gohan claiming the last one once he arrived though without Bulma. For those who had never seen a Saiyan eat the sight of Gohan and the three girls each clearing an entire table of food on their won left them stunned with many watching the scene in horrified awe.
"Kami, where do they put it all?" questioned Erasa once the four of them were done eating, all leaning back patting their stomachs with satisfied smiles on their faces.
"Alright I hope you all enjoyed the food." Called Bulma as she entered a few minutes later along with a squad of small robots that immediately began cleaning everything up.
"Sorry I wasn't here with you guys, but I had some other business pop up just before you got here. Now that you all have eaten we can have some fun." Said Bulma grinning.
"Now there are some things to see on this level but you all just ate so we'll save that for later." Said the genius.
With that Bulma led them to the the West Tower which hosted Capsule Automotive. Here the students were able to see capsule cars, bikes, even boats and planes all in various stages of development. Gohan had been surprised to see the motorcycle he'd designed was being worked on, which had been given the designation of Gryphon as it was capable of both ground and air travel. Erasa however had stars in her eyes as she beheld the bike.
"Videl it's Baby." Said Erasa causing the raven-haired heroine to give the bike a second look.
"Wait, it is." Said Videl shocked.
"Um, what are you talking about?" questioned Lime.
"It's Kaneda's bike from Akira." Said Videl causing many other people to give the bike a second look and realize that it was only the color was black instead of red.
"That's Gohan's design. The next generation of jet bikes, unlike modern bikes this one doesn't run off of any fossil fuel. Instead this one is completely clean energy provided by a perpetual energy reactor we built here a few years back. Each bike will be equipped with a fuel cell that should last around three months." Said Bulma.
"How does it fly?" questioned Erasa.
"The wheels serve a second purpose." Said Gohan bringing attention to himself.
"In flight mode the wheels extend slightly then turn horizontally. The hub caps will then open exposing low powered repulsors that will enable the bike to either hover or fly." Explained Gohan.
"When will it be available?" questioned one of the teens, Mark if Gohan remembered the name correctly.
"We're hoping for early June next year but that's assuming it gets through all of the regulatory testing on the first try." Said Bulma making a mental note to look into a limited-edition Akira model before continuing the tour.
On the next level was Capsule Home, which was pretty much the same as Automotive only dealing with living spaces. Videl like many of the more athletic students had been quite impressed by one of the designs which would allow an entire exercise gym to be capsulized and thus portable. As for the full houses they had up to four bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms that could all be put into capsules and be enlarged with no damage to anything inside the house.
In the East Tower they were able to get a peak of Capsule Communications where a range of communications technology was produced. Deep space satellites, modems and computers could all be seen. The students were also surprised to learn that Capsule Corp was working on their own gaming console.
"That was my son's idea. A complete VR experience the goal is for the console to act more like a hub and let you link to any game connected to the hub. We're still trying to come up with a name for it though." Said Bulma before taking them to the next level of the Communications part of the building but standing in front of the door.
"So this next place is our latest concept. It's another of Gohan's idea's and one we are really excited about. Erasa and Videl you should know you two gave Gohan the motivation to finish this concept since he's had it only partially done and buried in his desk at home for the last few years." Said Bulma causing both girls to look intrigued at Gohan who looked away trying to hide his blush.
"Anyway this is the next generation of communications and will make cellphones and laptops a thing of the past. We're calling it the Holodeck."
With that Bulma opened the doors allowing the students into the space behind within. It took 30 minutes before the teens left that workspace behind with many of them providing fresh ideas that would likely be added to the Holodeck and all of them being added to the list for first buyers when it was ready. Before they left Communications entirely Bulma directed them to another part of the wing.
"So do any of you remember the tournament held by Mr. Money a few years ago?" questioned Bulma.
"You mean the one where the World Savior beat that evil alien pirate?" questioned one of the teens excitedly causing Bulma to chuckle.
"That's the one. So if you remember there was a function that told the power levels of the fighters in that tournament. How would you all like to know yours?" questioned Bulma
"Would that even work on us? Most of us aren't fighters." Said a girl who Gohan knew as Stephanie.
"It works on everyone. What the device does is calculate the units of energy a person has active in the body which is called Ki. I'm not a fighter either but I stay in pretty good shape so my level is pretty low for a fighter but decent for a non-trained human." Explained Bulma.
"I'll do it, I'd like to know how much its changed since the tournament." Said Videl.
Opening the door Bulma slipped inside and emerged with a what looked like a scanner gun from a market in her hand.
"Alright stand over here so no one gets in the way." Said Bulma directing Videl over a few feet in front of a wall.
"Do you remember what your power level was during the tournament?" questioned Bulma.
"27." Said Videl
"Right well lets see how much you've grown since then." Said Bulma before holding up the gun which they could all hear beeping constantly before it settled.
"82." Came the digital voice of the gun.
"So just over three times as much ki as you had then. Not bad considering you haven't been actively training to increase your Ki." Said Bulma.
"I wonder how strong she would be if her training wasn't constantly interrupted and placed on hold over the years." thought Gohan.
Sharpner was next with a score of 65 showing there was a gap between himself and Videl in terms of how much Ki they had. Even the more athletic members of the class present had much lower scores than Sharpner with the highest being 30. Erasa scored 13, which she was fine with especially as it wasn't the lowest score, which was 7, though even that was considered in the average range. In the end the only ones not scanned were Gohan, Lime, Sarada and Vasha, even Bulma was scanned with a score of 17.
"Hey, why don't you guys give it a shot!" called Erasa looking towards Goten, Lime, Sarada and Vasha.
"Pass" said Lime
"Not interested." Said Vasha
"I'm good." Said Sarada.
"No thanks." Said Gohan
Before anyone could try to pressure them several figures came from around the corner. Leading them all was Vegeta while behind him was two people, one was a woman who stood about 5'6" to Gohan's quick eye measurements. She had orange hair that had many small braids linked to four larger ones. She wore battle armor similar to the kind Bulma created when they were training to fight the androids and Cell all those years ago except with a different color scheme. The body of the armor was black while the rectangular stomach plate and the straps over the shoulder were gold. Beneath the armor she wore a grey bodysuit that instead of full legs possessed shorts that stopped around her mid-thigh while a pair of white gloves and white boots with gold tips finished the outfit.
The other person was a man, taller than Vegeta and the woman both with brown skin, a long face, small beady eyes, a bald head with a small red dot on his forehead and a full beard that was cut low close to the face. He wore an outfit matching the woman's only his bodysuit had full pants instead of shorts. On the chest of the armor over the heart was the symbol of the E.S.D.F which was circular with each of the leaders divided into segments like a cut pie.
"Nam, Ranfan it's good to see you both again." Said Bulma, a genuine smile forming on her face.
"It is good to see you once more as well Ms. Bulma." Said the man giving a polite bow.
"Same here." Said the woman smiling softly.
"Ok kids these are the other guests I told you would be coming. First Ranfan who was a quarter-finalist of the 21st Budokai and Nam who was a semi-finalist that same year. As you can see both are now members off the E.S.D.F." said Bulma with each individual giving a small wave at their introduction.
"Did we come on career day?" questioned Ranfan.
"No. They are from Orange Star High, we offered to hold a few trips here after the incident." Said Bulma before Vegeta grunted and turned to walk away at that only for his motion to catch Bulma's attention.
"Hold it Vegeta, you should come for this next part. I promise it will interest you." Said Bulma causing Vegeta to grunt once more and turn so he was facing the group.
"Before that, would you two mind giving the kids a glimpse of the power of the E.S.D.F.?" questioned Bulma holding up the scanner.
"Sure why not." Said Ranfan with a shrug.
"Alright guys so the minimum power level for the E.S.D.F is 10,000 that's low-level power." Said Bulma causing the eyes of the teens to widen.
Pointing the device at Ranfan it showed a score of 250. She placed her left hand on her hip and suddenly the numbers began shooting up rapidly stopping at 50,000. Nam was next with it showing a score of 200 first before shooting up to 53,000.
"How is that possible?" questioned Sharpner stunned.
"Ki control. That allows you to not only summon your ki but both raise and lower its output. Most of us keep our ki suppressed for the most part as the higher levels can make people uncomfortable and make everyday actions harder." Explained Ranfan.
"Is it true anyone could learn this?" questioned a boy Gohan recognized as Adam.
"It is, it takes a lot of hard work for sure, but it is possible for anyone." Said Nam.
"Videl you should know, one of the first things recruits have to do for the E.S.D.F is climb Korin's Tower successfully. You're actually have a head start on fresh recruits if you make the climb." Said Ranfan surprising the students.
"Alright guys we're done here. The next stop is back in the Atrium, you get to see my personal lab." Said Bulma causing many of the teens to perk up.
As they turned to go to their next destination Gohan found himself pinned with a look and soon found himself bringing up the rear with Vegeta.
"This tournament, you intend to enter?" questioned Vegeta.
"If enough of us are interested, no point in entering if there's no legit competition." Said Gohan softly getting a smirk from Vegeta.
"Spoken like a true Saiyan warrior. You get that clown you call a father and the Namek to enter and I'm in." said Vegeta.
"How about we make it interesting." Said Gohan.
"Oh, how so?" questioned Vegeta.
"Straight hand to hand, no energy blasts, no transformations. Let's see who the best pure fighter actually is." Said Gohan
"We already know the answer to that is me, but I'll play along if my condition is met." Said Vegeta.
Not long later found the group filing into Bulma's personal lab, which is different from her regular work lab as this one had all of her personal non-official projects inside. As they entered they were able to see many things she'd worked on, mannequins with different types of battle armor, blueprint designs for jet bikes, and many more things.
"Um, Ms. Bulma what's that?" questioned Erasa pointing to a blueprint of a giant spherical object.
"That's the Capsule Ship 1, the very first spaceship my father built. It actually made it across the galaxy in just six days." Said Bulma his voice turned nostalgic.
"Man, Namek was beautiful, do you remember Gohan?" said Bulma.
"I remember and it took a lot of therapy to get over." Said Gohan stunning several of the students.
"Hold on, you're joking right.. You didn't actually go to space!" exclaimed Sharpner.
"Of course they did. It's where the woman and I first met." Said Vegeta
"Now I remember you!" exclaimed Videl bringing attention her way.
"You were at the Cell Games! You're Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans!" exclaimed Videl causing eyes around the room to widen while the man himself simply smirked.
"Wow Gohan, you've actually been to space! What was it like?" questioned Erasa.
"Dangerous." Said Gohan shortly clearly not interested in that topic of conversation.
"Gohan, come help me with this." Said Bulma giving him an out.
Looking over the group could see that Bulma was beneath a long table, like a mechanic working on a car.
"What do you need?" questioned Gohan.
"The power cell is dead. I've got a small power cell from the perpetual energy generator in one of the drawers of my work desk." Said Bulma.
"What exactly is this contraption?" questioned Bulma.
"It started as a holographic table but I kind of turned it into what a call a Time Transmitter. Basically it's a communication device that lets me check in on your son." Said Bulma.
Before anyone could comment Gohan returned and handed her the power cell which was a round metal object about the size of a hockey puck the top of which was full of glowing blue light. Going into a crouch Gohan passed the power cell to Bulma who quickly had it installed in place of the old power cell which they could see was about the same circumference though longer.
"Alright before we get started let me give you all some background information. Nearly seven years ago now the creature known as Cell announced the Cell Games and that he would destroy the planet if he was not beaten in the tournament. The thing is that was the ending of that conflict not the beginning, which if you all follow the news would know started with a man named Dr. Gero who was the mind behind Cell's creation." Said Bulma.
Looking around the room Gohan saw that Ranfan had her phone out and was recording Bulma. Thankfully the students had turned over their phones with the receptionist before they were allowed entry to the rest of the building so no one else would be able to record or leak this information.
"Three years prior to that event we received a warning of what was to come from someone claiming to be from the future." Said Bulma.
"Wait like the old Terminator movie?"
"Exactly like that. Naturally at first we didn't believe him but he knew too much about us that no one else outside of our circle knew. Turns out he was my son Trunks who had grown up trying to survive in a world where Dr. Gero's creations had been running amok, killing and destroying any and everything at their whim. Unfortunately there was no one powerful enough to stop them as the people who fought at the Cell Games were all caught off guard by the attacks and were killed, all but one who had been sent away from the fighting.
For the nearly the next two decades these creatures that Dr. Gero called Androids ravaged the world destroying and killing everything and everyone they came across. When he was 18 Trunks came to warn us of what would happen. The result of this was two new androids while the two Trunks warned us about came later but were woken early without Gero able to complete his work on them, and we also got Cell. With the warning however we were prepared and after a lot of struggle Dr. Gero, his androids and Cell were all defeated. What I'm going to be showing you all is what would have been if we hadn't received that warning ahead of time."
With her explanation given Bulma turned her attention to the table. With her attention turned away from them the students and their teacher didn't know what to think about what they'd just been told but several noticed the serious expressions on the faces of Gohan, Lime, Sarada and Vasha that matched the expressions worn by Vegeta and the E.S.D.F members. Suddenly a light began shining from the other side of the table beaming outwards like a flashlight while the sound of a phone ringing echoed through the room for nearly a full two minutes before it stopped and the holographic image of a young man appeared before them.
He looked to be in perhaps his early to mid-twenties with long purple hair that he was wearing down that stopped just short of the bottom of his neck. He had blue eyes and wore a pair of black pants and a matching tank-top that exposed his muscled torso and arms. He would fit the image of the bad boy type if not for the soft smile he wore.
"Hi mom I was just thinking about you." Said the young man and consequently stunning the those who didn't know who he was.
"Hi Trunks, how are you?" returned Bulma.
"We're hanging on. Actually we just finished testing Capsule Ship 4 with the schematics you provided from the original it looks like its in working order. It looks like it's happening, we're actually going to New Namek." Said Trunks
"Really that's great! I knew you could do it!" exclaimed Bulma causing Trunks to blush.
"Well it helped that I wasn't working on it alone. Mom, the one here, has been really motivated, honestly I've never seen her this excited for a project." Said Trunks.
"Trunks going to New Namek is a very big deal. It's means you guys can set everything right." Said Bulma.
"How's dad doing?" questioned Trunks changing the subject.
"I'm fine, it's good to see you've been keeping up your training." Said Vegeta causing Trunks's eyes to widen as he moved into the picture.
"Your father's come along way over the last few years, especially once Goku got back." Said Bulma causing Vegeta to huff.
"Trunks you take care of your mother on this trip. Space is very dangerous, and you never know what could happen." Said Vegeta.
"Of course." Said Trunks nodding seriously
"Listen Trunks I'm not actually alone. I've got a group of students from my old high school here. I'm going to widen the screen so you can see them." Said Bulma.
"Wow, that's a lot of people." Said Trunks his eyes scanning the room taking in each face before he froze.
"No way is that Gohan?" questioned Trunks.
"Hey, Trunks, long time no see." Said Gohan.
"No kidding, you've got to be as tall as your dad now!" said Trunks before his eyes widened.
"Hold on a second, there's some people you should see." Said Trunks before simply vanishing out of the picture.
Trunks was gone for nearly two minutes but when he appeared once more he was smiling.
"Hold on a second, I'm changing the visual settings." Said Trunks.
Then the picture changed and instead of just Trunks they could see several more people around him. First was a woman who could only be an older version of Bulma, her blue hair was longer, she wore a pair of coveralls with oil stains and her face showed signs of aging, but it was clearly her. Next to her was a dark-haired woman on the verge of tears. She had dark hair that she wore back in a high bun with several loose strands and wore a pink and purple cheongsam. While she looked like she had once been really pretty it was plain to see that this was a woman who now cried a lot.
Aside from them were a few more figures first was a giant of a man who clearly towered over the rest of the group. He was clearly an older man with a full grey beard, his pants were held up by suspenders and he wore a pair of brown glasses. Next to the giant was who could only be Mrs. Briefs though she too had clearly aged with her blonde hair now clearly white with age. Finally there was a cat standing with them with white fur and holding a wooden staff.
"Oh, Gohan. You look so young, and you've still got your whole body!" said the woman with dark hair.
"Hi mom." Said Gohan softly.
"It's good to see you again Gohan." Said the giant
"Hi grandpa." Said Gohan.
"So Trunks said this is your class, are you really in school Gohan?" questioned the future version of Chi-Chi.
"Yes, I just started a few months ago." Said Gohan.
"You hear that, he's doing it. He's going to be a great scholar!" said Chi-Chi sniffing.
"Actually I've been training under grandpa for the last few years. I'm going to take over the family business." Said Gohan causing both of them to go wide-eyed.
"Well those people will certainly be in good hands with you in charge." Spoke the cat
"Thank you Master Korin." Said Gohan with a small bow causing the eyes of the students to go wide eyed.
"As polite as ever. Chi-Chi did a good job with you." Said Mrs. Briefs causing Gohan to blush.
"Gohan what did she mean you have your whole body?" questioned Erasa though she was answered by current Bulma rather than Gohan
"Gohan in their timeline eventually joined the resistance fighting against the androids. During one of the attacks he lost one of his arms saving Trunks and he died a few months after during another attack." Said current Bulma.
The students were stunned silent at this news, the energy seemingly sucked out of the room. While he hadn't been with them all that long many of them had gotten to know Gohan in the time he'd been their classmate and genuinely liked him. Gohan never had an unkind word for anyone and would talk to anyone, while his closest friends were Videl, Sharpner, Erasa, Lime, Vasha and Sarada many of the students truly felt they had a friend in him as well. For one of them Colin, who despite being an athlete was also really shy around girls, Gohan had been the one to get his current girlfriend Erin to notice him.
"Hey guys is it still on?"
The voice came from off screen bringing the students out of their funk and causing several eyes to narrow amongst them.
"Yeah, we're in here!" called Future Bulma.
In the next instant a figure blurred into the room that brought a smile to the face of Future Chi-Chi as the small figure ran straight to her. The figure was a child, one that had Gohan's eyes narrowing as if he wasn't wrong they were wearing an outfit he swore was one of his. It was a Hanfu-style top that was yellow with green sleeves worn with green pants and a rather familiar red hat. Before anyone could comment another figure entered the room this one being a woman with long black hair worn in a braided ponytail that reached her lower back and wore a pair of dark green cargo pants with a black top and a green cargo jacket. As the person turned to face the camera the class gasped as they saw a face they recognized, older yes and with an additional scar on the face but they knew exactly who this was.
"It's me." Said Videl in surprise causing the others on those from the future to look at her.
"Well what are the odds of that. You look good Videl, happy." Said Future Videl
"Gohan, you two are in the same class?" questioned Chi-Chi.
"Yes, we share the exact same schedule." Said Gohan.
"They met so early, does that mean more grandchildren?" questioned Chi-Chi causing both Videl and Gohan to blush hotly as they both instinctively looked to the child she was still holding even as Chi-Chi turned the child to face them revealing it was a little girl with black eyes and black hair judging by the bangs that weren't covered by the hat.
"Well Gohan, you obviously know Videl, this is Pan, our Gohan's daughter." Said Chi-Chi.
"Vi she's so cute!" exclaimed Erasa causing Future Videl's eyes to snap to her and widen.
"Oh my god, Erasa." said the woman with tears clearly beginning to form in her eyes.
"With that reaction, I'm guessing I didn't make it." Said Erasa somberly causing Future Videl to release a quick sob even as Future Bulma pulled her into a hug.
Videl and Erasa were standing with their arms linked but Gohan's gaze followed Pan who had been passed over to his grandfather and was now sitting on one of his large shoulders.
"Trunks." Said Gohan a questioning tone in his voice.
"Apparently Gohan intervened when the androids attacked a shelter Videl helping to run. They stayed in touch, and she even helped patch him up a few times. He didn't know and considering how young you were at the time I decided not to tell you." Said Trunks.
"You take care of them." Said Gohan pinning Trunks with a look
"Of course." Said Trunks.
"Anyway Bulma can you patch the visuals to the drones and send them out. I want them to see it." Said current day Bulma.
"Sure give me a couple of minutes." Said Future Bulma.
"Trunks I need you to come and pick up a couple of my friends here. King Furry wants information and we're going to give it to him." Said Bulma.
"Sure how long would they be here?" questioned Trunks.
"Take them to Namek with you, but let's say maybe thirty seconds pass for us." Said Bulma.
"I've been wondering about that, what so important about this Namek place?" questioned Videl.
"Have you ever heard of the Dragon Balls?" questioned Trunks.
"They're a myth, a fairytale made for children." Said Sharpner.
"No they are not. The dragon balls were created by the Kami..." Said Trunks only to be cut off.
"Wait Kami, like God!" questioned one of the students.
"Well Kami is a god but a rather minor one. In truth Kami is a Namekian and after a series of trials by Earth's previous Guardian earned the right to take up the position." Said Future Bulma.
"Anyway like I was saying the dragon balls were created by the Guardian of the Earth and once all seven are gathered have the power to summon the Eternal Dragon who will grant the wish of the person who summons him
"Are you serious, any wish?" questioned Erasa excitedly.
"Within certain limits." Said Gohan causing attention to turn his way.
"The dragon balls on Earth for instance grant immortality or on the flipside can bring people back from the dead but only if that death wasn't due to natural causes. That means if someone dies due to an illness they can't be brought back." Said Gohan causing faces to light up and for some expressions to fall amongst the group, including current Videl's.
"Wait Gohan have you used them before?" questioned Erasa causing Videl.
"A few times. We used them to revive my dad a few years ago." Said Gohan surprising several of the students.
"The dragon balls do have limits as Gohan stated." Said Future Bulma bringing attention her way.
"After they are used they go inert becoming regular stones until they are ready to be used again. Secondly if their creator dies then the dragon balls go permanently inert, which is what happened here." Said Future Bulma.
"So that's why you're going to Namek, since the ones on Earth were created by a Namekian and are inert you can go to where other Namekian's are since they might have the power to create dragon balls as well." Said Videl.
"Exactly, that was why we went to Namek the first time." Said current Bulma.
"When Vegeta first came to Earth there was a fight and his partner at the time killed several of our friends, one of which was Kami and rendered the dragon balls inert. So we got the idea to go to Namek to use those dragon balls and revive them which worked." Said Bulma giving them a summary.
"Got the drones running, patching you guys in now." Said Future Bulma
Nearly thirty minutes later found the students and their teacher once more within the Atrium. The images they'd seen had rocked them all to their cores, none of them had been prepared for the level of carnage they would see. They thought disaster movies they'd seen would have prepared them, but they hadn't not for the emotions brought out by seeing that level of destruction in real places they knew and frequented. As if that wasn't bad enough seeing the level of destruction caused across the rest of the world had done them in.
They'd needed a serious break and as such were once again within the Atrium. They'd already seen Trunks arrive in the time machine and depart with Nam and Ranfan, they'd only been gone less than a minute before they returned but it was clear that the two had been gone a lot longer from their perspective. The two E.S.D.F members left soon after while Future Trunks stuck around for a little while talking to his younger current counterpart and Goten. Gohan had also pulled him aside for a quite chat after which the purple haired man left.
Currently Gohan was lying in the grace with Lime and Videl lying directly beside him each of them leaning into one of his sides. Sarada and Vasha sat beside them and while Sarada looked saddened Vasha looked expressionless. Sharpner was also sitting up with a solemn air surrounding him, one hand wrapped around Erasa who was leaning into his chest.
"What's on your mind Vas?" questioned Lime quietly causing the other girl to let out a breath.
"I'm wondering what happened to Sarada and I." said the girl.
"I have as well." Said Sarada.
"You think you survived it all?" questioned Sharpner.
"Undoubtedly since we wouldn't have been here." Said Vasha.
"In that timeline the Androids ran wild destroying everything, but they didn't have Cell. That means there was no Cell Games and thus no celebration and Mr. Money never held that tournament. We never came to Earth." Said Sarada.
"Came to Earth?" questioned Erasa eyes wide while Videl also looked up causing the two girls, Lime and Gohan to all blink.
"Did we never tell you?" questioned Sarada.
"No, I'd remember something like that." Said Videl.
"Oh, sorry. We're so use to everyone we know already knowing this about us." Said Sarada.
"We're Saiyans. We came to Earth because Mr. Money sent a transmission into space that we picked up on announcing the tournament." Said Vasha.
"Until that point we'd been wandering space going planet to planet doing odd jobs. We would fight in tournaments when we were desperate enough, but I don't really like fighting, and the killing was way too much." Said Sarada.
"Earth doesn't really register high on the power scale and is basically an unknown in deep space. When the rules of the tournament said no killing we decided to come. We were a few days late but when we landed Vegeta was there to meet us and we've been here ever since." Said Vasha.
"Alright kids time to get up." Called Bulma a few moments later catching the attention of all the teens.
"I have one more thing to show you guys, this one a bit more fun so come with me."
Curiously the teens stood and followed after the blue-haired genius back through the door they that led to her personal lab. Rather than turn towards it however they went the opposite direction and led them to a section of a wall with a glass window. Through the window was an empty room with a central pillar that looked like it had a computer panel installed.
"So this is the Gravity Room. My dad invented a gravity machine for Gohan's dad to train on when he followed after us to Namek on the Capsule 1 that could go up to 100 times Earth's natural gravity. I've since made improvements and placed them in this room which can currently go up to 500 times Earth's gravity. Vegeta typically uses it for his training room; however I use it as my fun room since it can also do zero gravity just like space." Said Bulma.
At the end of her explanation the kids expressions opened up as they realized what they were in store for. Sure enough, Bulma provided several of the girls with spandex tights to slip under their skirts and dresses before leading them into the room and setting the gravity at zero. The teens spent the rest of their time within the gravity room playing around and by the time their play time came to an end, and they boarded the bus they were all in lighter spirits.
The only ones not to board the bus were Sarada, Vasha, Gohan and Lime, all of whom were on record living there. Videl hung back for several seconds looking like she wanted to say something before deciding against it and getting on the bus. As soon as the bus was out of sight Gohan collected his little brother and godbrother and summoned Nimbus for the kids before they all took to the air towards his house and a meal made by Chi-Chi.
AN: That's it the chapter's over. Before anyone complains about secrets casually being given away, unlike cannon Gohan my version isn't scared of his secrets getting out.
