Vox smiled, believing he had heard the answer he wanted to her, "Great! Great! Plaze, it's a wonder to have you… Wait."
Narrowing his eyes at the Gaming Overlord, he demanded to know, "Did you just say no?"
Knowing the die was cast, Plaze doubled down on his response, "I value my independence. We can make an alliance, but I would never join you so closely. As an Overlord, I want to shape everything how I want it to be. Being with you wouldn't allow me to do that."
His face twitched and glitched as he computed my response, "Seriously? I am offering you the best deal I've given anyone in- Hell, DECADES! And you're DENYING IT?!"
Leaning back in his chair, Plaze, as politely as he could, told him, "I am. I know you're upset, but this is how it has to be. You can talk with my secretary on the way out to get my number if you would like to speak any more on potential future collaborations with each other."
Quite frankly, he wanted to tell him to beat it. But it would be bad to be so rude to someone much more powerful than him.
Vox just stared at him with a dumbstruck look on his face.
Then, he began to menacingly chuckle, "Oh, Plaze, Plaze, Plaze… You don't understand at all, do you?"
Plaze starts to entertain the thought that he may have made a miscalculation.
He leaned down, right to his level, "That's not how it works in Hell."
Electricity began to leak out of Vox as it began to randomly zap things in the room. Vox's voice turned malevolent as he explained, "See, there's something I forgot to tell you. There were times when other, more advanced TV companies popped up in Hell, choosing to use their advancements to make their own companies instead of helping me. Those TV companies don't exist anymore. Because I killed them."
Standing up, Plaze was given a choice. Fight or flight.
He chose flight.
"Well, it's been nice meeting you, Vox, but I should get going now," Plaze said before immediately turning around and jumping out of the 5th story window.
Landing on his two feet, Plaze immediately began to run, but Vox turned himself into electricity and suddenly appeared in front of him, "Now, everything around me is less advanced than my company is. So, Plaze, do you understand what I am going to do to you?"
Recognizing that flight was no longer an option, Plaze changed into a fighting stance, "I won't die here."
This is a terrible situation, but he's NOT going to give up so easily! He put in work to become an Overlord, there's not a fucking way that this shithead TV head was going to get him to stop now!
Vox smiled, "But you're going to wish you will."
He could barely even react as within half a second, Vox was in front of him landing a punch into his gut.
Being sent across the street, he manages to land correctly, skidding across the floor into a wall. Then, he threw out a bolt of electricity at the TV Overlord.
It does nothing as Vox merely takes the hit, laughing, "What?! Do you really think that your electricity is powerful enough to overpower me?!"
As Vox rushed him down once more, Plaze was able to deflect one fist. Just one. The other hand hit his back, feeling as though it broke it.
Meanwhile, as he was hunched down from his strike to the back, Vox kneed him in the stomach, as he punched Plaze in the face, sending him to the ground.
"See, I decided to ask Carmilla about your powers, just to see if I could get her to say anything," Vox revealed, slowly walking over to him, "Turns out, we have almost the same powers! It's mostly just electricity, though it looks like you're not strong enough to actually turn into electricity. Although, it sounds like you're a lot more durable than the average sinner."
That caught him off-guard. Why the fuck would Carmilla tell him that!? Did she betray him too?!
Picking him up by the radar stub on his head, Vox smiled, "So, don't die on me so quickly, got it?"
Plaze was fucked. So, incredibly fucked.
As he was thrown far away into the street, causing the other nearby sinners to scatter, he was given a moment to think.
He knew that there was a gap between their power. But there was no way it could've been that massive, could there?
Getting up, Plaze immediately dialed up his potential to 10 as he began to tap into his power as an Overlord.
Growing, growing, and growing, the bacteriophage began to dwarf the size of the nearby two to three story buildings.
"I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED BY YOU, VOX!" He roared out, firing the rockets at the side of his head towards the TV Overlord.
With decades of experience, he yawned as he casually shot off bolts of electricity at those rockets, forcing them to explode mid-air.
As a result, there was now a fog between the two fighters. Plaze knew that, in his base form, his electricity couldn't harm Vox. But in his Overlord form, he should have a better chance.
His body pulsed with hundreds of thousands of watts of electricity-
But Vox simply showed up next to his head on a rooftop nearby, hands behind his back as he commented with a shiteating grin, "Geeze, that's the most electricity you can output in your Overlord form? That's not good, Plaze."
The three arms on Plaze's side immediately swatted at the building Vox was standing on, practically bringing it down as the electrical current was overcharged by his own power, bursting the nearby areas' power supply in an instant.
But it wasn't enough as Vox simply tanked the electricity being poured into him as he casually walked on Plaze's head.
Noticing him there, he attempted to swat him away-
But Vox was strong enough to just beat his massive hands with his own.
How the Hell is this guy so powerful?! There shouldn't be this much of a gap between their powers in these forms-
"Say, Plaze, how many souls do you have under you?" Vox curiously asked as he looked at the radar, which Plaze was using to look at him on his head, "3,000, 5,000, right? That was the estimate? Well, do you know the difference between a thousand and a million?"
His expression turned manic as he boosted the amount of electricity he was producing, slamming his hands down where Plaze's brain would be, "IT'S ABOUT A FUCKING MILLION!"
Millions of watts of electricity was slammed down into Plaze's head, overcharging him with too much electricity.
That electricity had to go somewhere, and it chose to burst out of his body, practically forcing it to explode limb by limb, he was taken apart by the vast power that the TV Overlord held.
Almost as soon as it started, it ended, as Plaze was forced to revert back to his base form. But he was just a shell of his former self. He was basically just the head and torso left in agonizing pain.
Picking up what was left of him, Vox chuckled, "Heheh, you're still alive? That's amazing. But you look in good shape, I think I'm going to use you."
Suddenly, Plaze was turned into electricity as he was transported with Vox toward the Plaza's office, where all of his workers had been watching the fight unfold through the windows.
Plaze was unceremoniously dropped by Vox onto the floor.
"Hello, good workers of the Plaza!" He greeted them happily, all of the workers looking apprehensive about his appearance, "So, I beat the shit out of your boss just now. I didn't bring an angelic weapon with me because I didn't think I would need it,so I can't permanently kill him. But here's a little known fact, did you know that if an Overlord is dead, you can invade his soul deals as long as they're not in written contract?"
What?
Nobody ever told him that. Why did no one tell him that?
Barely even able to look at Vox with his practically dead body, terror flowed through what was in the rest of himself as Vox announced, "I love what you guys have done with your whole gaming thing. So I'm allowing all of you guys to join VoxTech under my new department, VoxGames! Just sign over your souls to me, and I'll get you situated with better pay, a better work environment, and an infinitely better company! Just trust me!"
"No…" Plaze coughed out, barely able to form basic words, "Don't… Take… Them…"
It was a moment of true desperation at the bottom of his life. But he knew from his own experience he was wasting his words.
Briefly taking a moment to gloat, he turned around with a smile on his face, "What? Did Hammer use that line on you? Did it work?"
His silence was the answer.
"That's what I thought," Vox turned back to his workers with open arms, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime deal! Once your boss comes back to life, I won't be able to do anything for you, nor do I want to! So, don't you want to join the greatest company Hell has ever seen and be able to push your love of games to the next level!?"
Plaze had to die, watching all of those employees he put his trust into betray it, signing on with his enemy.
AN:
The answer to "Where would Plaze be in canon?" is that Vox simply brought his angelic weapon with him, killing Plaze here.
Also, I just gotta glaze Vox for a moment here. "Well, do you know the difference between a thousand and a million? IT'S ABOUT A FUCKING MILLION!" during a fight to display the gap between yourself and your opponent is a fire ass line. One of my best.
Written December 25th.
[3 Chapters of backlog left, I'll get to work on that next week after Time Capsule.]
