It was just at the end of the Black T-rex Fight, Seth had fallen through the portal to nowhere. Everything was calming down but Max and Zoe were listening in on Rex's birth parents talking to him. The Duo were behind a door frame. They heard their friend say, "I am flattered you want to be a family but you are strangers to me. I am not going to run off with you. This isn't an Anime, This isn't a Fairy Tale. This isn't a game, This isn't name another peice of media. This is real life, This changeling Doesn't want to leave everything he knows to go back to strangers who used strange beyond our understanding magic to do things that lead to me being adopted."
Zoe blinked whispering, "Changeling?" the boy whispered back, "Changeling it's a fairy tale where human babies are traded out for monster babies made to look human so the human can become slaves, but if the changeling is abused the monster will come and undo the trade, or if you do something stupid like try to boil water in an egg shell. While no baby was traded magic stones lead to him being dropped form a strange far away land to someone else. He counts. Return of the human child not a a most do thing." Zoe gasped, she knew Max loved comics so the idea he knew his tropes made sense. Yes Rex was a changeling.
Our Future mother said, "Sweetie, while that was a very classy speech and made many points, You coming with us is for your own Safety. Now this is a spoiler alert but in this era a strange event happened. Suddenly weather patterns changed, the world turned into a new ice age. sixty percent of people died in it. You are safer coming with us."
The Father held his chin, "I would dare say Seth's powered up clone stones may have been behind it when he tried time traveling with them. It's some kind of metaphysical reaction which means those deaths are on our butlers head." The Ancients run this show, Doctor Z was a lab worker his kids his assistants and Seth another lab Assistant but they all worked for him so This does count as the butler did it. His wife turned following his logic and said this, "We should have done mental health and background checks."
The Duo watching where jaw dropped staring at eachother shaking, as they just heard the world is ending, because of Seth. The Mother continued, "Anyhow the ice age lasts sixty years. You won't survive Son, please come with us to the future where it's safe and warm. " She was crying and shaking, as this was basically a , if my baby doesn't take my hand he will die moment.
The younger blonde asked one thing, "Can I bring my friends and people I care about with me, So they are safe and sound?" His birth father sighed saying one thing to this, " Son You can't move people through time. It could change history, You being here alone is already a big enough change. The fact no one has disappeared or changed because history hasn't needed a reboot form you changing the timeline is a lucky break as it was. You being here is one out of a million miracle, as anything you could do, could undo your parents and your own birth, and erase all this, the backlander the alpha gang everything."
With a sign Rex put his hands in his pocket, "The backlander is why the Ice age is happening making me being here a stable time loop, I am born to do this, so I can be born and do it." he declared Barking back some Venom in his voice. " If I am mean to be here and you won't let me saved my loved ones, My choices are go away with strangers or die with my family. Death please and thank you!" he said turning and leaving, as the two biological broke down crying holding eachother. To them he was just a baby five seconds ago, and now he Is leaving them as he would rather die then go home were it's safe. The father could only say one thing, "We will leave the cards and his clone stones. It's all we can do for them."
Rex left the room running crying to warn everyone about the Ice age running past the Shocked Max and Zoe. Rex turned bowing to them hand in palm, "I am sorry for this, I will bear the sins of my brother parents as they are leaving to not face them. I will take the blame, for all those deaths to come form the Ice age." he cried running off. Max and Zoe were stunned.
Later on in the Taylor house everyone was Gathered. Aki looked to Spike saying this, " So you lie, let the kids go turbo chicken fighting, let a dinosaur take a crap on the carpet, and now the world is ending." she pointed growling with rage form all that was revealed so quickly. Anmo Drake The Vet's wife was giving a similar speech to her husband and oldest daughter. Doctor Owen commented, "so being a single parent is an edge got it."
While the Adults were fighting Rex was outside looking up at the sun it was a warm day but how long would that last? Zoe was sitting under a tree enjoying the summer breeze when Max spoke up. "They are fighting instead of dealing with the problem. Look my aunt lives not to far from here In the mountains. Aunt Minmi is a survivalist who lives off the Grid in a manor. It makes it's own power, water and food as it's an earth ship. We can just go there. We have the Dinosaurs we have the holders, we have the cards, We have the Alpha scanners, We have all of them. Let's Just head out and survive while they fight. Fighting among ourselves won't save lives." he said being the later.
Zoe turned blushing she enjoyed Max being a leader, and he was looking at her, their was a blush on his face She then said, "he's right, if they keep fighting instead of prepping we are doomed, if Aki can't think to go to her twin's house it's on her." She said getting up making Max do a nervous twitch as he said, "gee thanks Zoe, " The thanks was followed by a stupid comment that got his nose pinched, before Zoe stopped and said, " Sorry Foot in mouth is not a reason to attack." Zoe had seen on Tv how she was acting wasn't right, she wondered why her parents didn't correct her. She moved past it for a moment and was focusing on controlling her temper , you know growing up. Max was also trying to be more serious here and growing up.
Rex watched this, it was no secret he had a crush on Zoe, but he watched them, If not for Alpha gang Zoe would have road on the back of Max's bike as a classic date moment. Without him they would have still gone to China Town together, all alone a date, same thing with every other place. He saw it now, if he didn't time travel they would have been together, And nature was taking it's course now that it was correcting with an ice age. He knew they would come together, but the fact they were not yet was again on his birth parents and him. he got up taking a deep breath as he steeled himself. He was going to help them get together. He had too , it would hurt but it was what was right. "Okay if we are talking about running away while they fight, I will go back supplies, and me and Max's clothes, You all go get our friends and we can meet in Zoe's backyard after she packs tonight."
Max and Zoe ran off together happily to till their friends the world was about to enter an Ice age, No one but Amy believed them. She was the only one who had saw dinosaurs up close and would believe it. While being walked home Amy whispered to Zoe, "Zoe I am bi, I know you turned me down, but if Rex wasn't here, wasn't on all your outings it would have been Just you and Max, going to the park, mall, a restaurant, shopping hanging out together, laughing and having fun together, sticking together no matter what, and having fights and making up." These words whispered into her ear made Zoe Stare at Max red faced as she pictured it. The picture in her head was a basic teenage love movie. the pink haired girl pointed at Max whispering, "he and I are suppose too..." she was red holding her face, "...oh my...the old lady ruined our should have been dates." Ursula in the future would scream not an old lady for some reason.
That night Zoe was in her room dressed in a yellow version of her Christmas outfit. Green mittens on it holding a backpack as she grabbed her dino holder and alpha scanner and they split them, Loaded up the cards, and opened her window leaving a note, as she climbed down only to fall and land in Max's arms she was red, he was red too. Like how Amy pointed it out to Zoe, Rex pointed it out to Max. They both knew they should have been dating but were too shy to make the first move. Max was in a long sleeve hoodie, his belly bag replaced by the hoodie's pocket area which was black. he had on thick red mittens with white palms. He was in winter orange pants and red winter boots. She was set down and pulled out a yellow scarf blushing, "It's a gift , I made it..." Max was red as she put it on him.
Max then blushed handing her something. " here it's fry bread my grandmother, an ingenious person taught me how to make them gather and trap, I even made this outside, you are so thin you will freeze please eat. they are good with honey." Zoe blushed eating the thing as Max handed her honey. She was eating good the boy made. Both where red looking away. Rex meanwhile was watching in a thicker coat, thicker boots and light blue mittens. He adjusted his backpack. Amy in her normal but added winter boots, gloves, scar and ear muffs nodded looking at him. Rex handed the Earth Alpha scanner to her, with Hanah's card. The girl smiled giving Rex and cheek kiss. she whispered, "wrong people kissed, we need to work together so they can be together."
The four soon to be Tennagers set out, on a journey not to different form coming of age movies. The air felt like a double date , on a winter night which was odd as it was a summer day. they headed off summoning Dinosaurs to ride them. Well thanks to spikes Amy didn't ride hanah instead she road Ace holding Rex, as they traveled. Now while riding Dinosaurs was a nice idea on paper their is the fact their time period was tropical, making them tropical birds not penguins. This means they would fall and they would need to either summon another dinosaur or camp out till morning.
They had made it to the side of the road on the path to the mountain, a city not to far away. With no real money they camped, Max had packed a tent for them to share and sleeping bags He was even able to start a fire. Rex then said, "Well I know how to spear fish." he said rubbing his arms around the fire on a log. " We best take shifts, Duos boys and girls , Ladies sleep first." As the girls went to sleep. Rex said it, "You need to Ask out Zoe." Max was red, "The world is ending Rex I will ask when we are safe at my aunts." Little did he know Zoe was having trouble sleeping and heard that, and blushed happily. She knew Max wanted to date her. She smiled happily saying, "Most survive." in a whisper muttered.
The Next day would come quickly, as they walked into the Town which was in chaos form the cold snap, while they h ad sleeping bags and fur blankets, old things, and where safe last night as it wasn't too cold the snow still came down. Now they camped out under trees and didn't get much, but this Town had a fresh layer over everything, no cars could move in it. Their was also a loud sound coming through the it, a toot. What was before them was a Pink Mammoth in spiked purple metal and crystal armor.
They where shocked but it helps it's nose out and fired off a burst of wind. This made them all jump down and slash the first cards they could grab. Max slashed, " DINO SLASH!" his card was chomp's friend form Hawaii. Rex slashed, "DINO SLASH!" the raptor form the game show event. Zoe slashed, " DINO SLASH!" It was the Dinosaur form when they met the Geisha. Amy slashed "alpha slash!" and summoned a stego. They blinked as this felt weird but quickly used move cards.
Max slashed, " Eletric charge!" his dinosaur charged forward using the attack while roaring only to be knocked back by the mega mammal's wind blast. Next up was Rex, "Ninja attack!" the summon used the move only for the furry elephant to spin it's trunk around to use the blast of hurricane air to knock it back. Amy was next, " MOLE ATTACK!" her steck dug and came as she slashed, " TAIL SMASH!" The merged move made the Stego come up and tail whack it with it's spiked tail hitting the leg making it fall over roaring in pain, before blasting the stego away. Zoe slashed a move card, "Good show Emerald garden!" this attack trained health and made plants grow. This sucked away health from the beast. Side effect apple trees grow meaning they could gather more good.
Our leader in red said, "She's right we need to get around the trunk, Plasma Archor!" This move card gave his not Chomp but his friend they meet on a tropical island a rope made of lighting to lasso and fling thee beast around. Can't blow away lighting, and the same into a mountain wall shattered the things armor. Rex looked through his card, "Okay POWER DRAIN!" he slashed the card making it suck power away form the beast. That is however when their dinosaurs shivered and became cards. The beast charged, and with out thinking Max jumped to tackle Zoe knocking her away as they landed In the snow him on top of her their faces inches away, both red.
Amy then slashed, " Earth barrier!" To block the beasts next burst of air. The dinosaurs using it Hanah as she summoned her as a replacement. Rex also summoned ace to replace his dinosaur. "Okay sonic blast summons a hurricane use Spike arrow!" Amy and him slashed, " fusion move, sonic arrows!" the boosted speed arrows of crystal traveld to fast for the beast to blow away, it was hit and became a card. An Alpha wind Dino or well mega mamaml card. Rex gathered the cards confused by this. "Who made this?" Amy shrugged.
Max and Zoe however, Max got up helping Zoe up and helping her dust off, before pulling form his backpack a blanket to wrap around you, "your clothes are going to get wet when that melts, We need to pull our money and get a hotel room or something before you freeze." he held her close, "Wait a pawn shop. We can sell some of the gear we brought, what if we don't Zoe will freeze, she needs a warm place to dry off and change." Zoe was red, at how protective he was. Sure enough they traded some blanks for the few bucks they needed for a motel.
A crappy one but it was running and had a heater. Plus Tv. In it's bathroom Zoe was changing cleaning off and changing into her spare copy of the outfit red faced. She had taken a shower while in here, thankful for hot water. once changed she walked in to see a sleeping bag set up Red laying on it clearly plan boys take the bag together, the girls get the bed how gentlemen of them. The Tv was reporting on the strange lose of heat energy making temperatures drop. Rex however looked to the wind Alpha card saying, 'I summoned it, it didn't have the armor."
Zoe meanwhile saw Max outside picking the apples form emerald garden smiling holding her face thinking back to what she overheard and smiling, Wishing she could have the courage to make the first move. She use to, she would always run out boys asking for dates, why couldn't she do it with Max? maybe it's because this is true love, not thinking he is just cute, so she has real emotions tied to him? She smiled watching him working hard before coming in shaking saying, "okay Rex your turn, Then Amy's Zoe you just stay in here and warm up." the boy happily hugged her. Zoe was right his arms where warm something getting more and more rare.
