CHAPTER 24: THERE'S A HOLE WHERE MY VILLAGE SHOULD GO
Nearly a week after Naruto left the village to train, Hinata was lying in bed with a Hyuga servant beside her. "Please tell me a story", asked the clan heir. "Gladly Lady Hinata," said the attendant.
"Long ago, long before the age of shinobi, a beautiful woman wandered through the woods. During her wandering, she noticed the most beautiful flower she had ever seen. Enticed by its beauty, the young woman approached. Inside the flower she saw a mysterious fruit. This was long before children were taught to not eat unknown fruit, so she had no issue with eating her newly found fruit. But, when she ate it her body began to change. Her already wonderful features began to become duller, more white. Her face put more emphasis on her lower face, forming a muzzle. And, her ears. Her ears grew longer. She became a rabbit goddess. This rabbit goddess would name herself Kaguya, meaning shining, after her reflection in a nearby pond. She also gained control over the five basic elements. She became the originator of Chakra.
This power of hers was sought after, causing her to have many suitors. One of these suitors was a local chief named Tenji. Tenji was a handsome man. In fact, he was handsome enough to win Kaguya's heart. They stayed together for many years, long enough for Princess Kaguya to bear two children. The two boys she named Hagoromo and Hamura.
The two sons were not happy with how their mother was keeping chakra from the people. They tried to steal her chakra, but their mother noticed. She attacked her boys in furious retaliation. The boys and their mother were evenly matched, lasting for nearly a month until the children got the upper hand. In a last resort, Hagoromo and Hamura sealed their mother inside the moon. Though their mother was defeated, the boys weren't done. Hamura, being the younger brother, went to the moon to keep an eye on their mother.Hagoromo went around and spread chakra to the people. That is why we honor him as the sage of six paths.
Hagoromo had two kids of his own, both of whom would go to found the Senju and the Uchiha respectively. These two boys ended up arguing over who was Hagoromo's successor, causing the generations of conflict between the clans. Now the Hyuga are descended from Hamura, who had a child before he left for the moon. This makes the Hyuga the oldest clan and the most respected."
"Thank you, yawn, that will be all," said a sleepy Hinata. She was unaware of how terrible the next day would be.
Hinata woke up that morning, rested plentifully. Her day would be a long and miserable one though; she had to meet with the other clan heads and create a plan for what to do with the influx of sand shinobi. Ever since their village was destroyed, they have been a headache for the village. Of course, Hinata was happy that she could help them. "Maybe today they'll listen to me," she thought.
On the other side of the village, Sakura began her day in the hospital. "It's been really calm," she said, "I miss Naruto." Thankfully, not many injured shinobi had been admitted to the hospital recently; besides the random sand shinobi who just made it to the village. "Last time Naruto went to go train, he was gone for nearly three years. This time though, he has Ino with him. So, he should be back soon." she said to herself. 'It drives you crazy,' said Inner, 'doesn't it. It should be us with him training, not Ino-Pig.' 'Don't talk about my friend like that,' responded Sakura, 'and so what if I do want that. I can't change that she is there and I'm not.'
As soon as Sakura finished interacting with Inner, seven mysterious shinobi appeared at the village gates. Six had vibrant orange hair and black piercings. One had blue hair and much more subtle piercings. However, they were all clad in the same black cloaks. The group rampaged through the village, looking for the Kyuubi. They wouldn't find it though, Naruto was miles away.
The Deva path confronted Tsunade as a last resort. Atop the Hokage's office, the deva path pushed the guards away like a child pushes his toys. "Where's the nine tails?" demanded Pain. "We will defend our Jinchuriki." answered Tsunade. "And if you can't?" questioned Pain. "Naruto is strong." summarized Tsunade. As this fight was going on, Shizune was being soul-sucked across the village. The information in her head was spread to all of Pain's paths. The Deva Path got the message. "So, he's not in the village. Mount Myoboku," muttered Deva. Suddenly all of Pain and his accomplices removed themselves from the village. "They're planning something…" said Tsunade, "They were winning. Why would they just retreat like that?". Then, she saw it. High in the sky a man stood in the Sun's glare. Tsunade realized it. She jumped into the village and summoned more of Katsuyu. "Katsuyu, protect everyone!" she yelled as Katsuyu began to cover every villager. "THE WORLD SHALL KNOW PAIN!" bellowed through the village before two fatal words were merely muttered, "Almighty Push." Intense winds rained down upon the village, lifting the topsoil and buildings, carrying them to the village walls. For the second time the Akatsuki had annihilated a village.
