CHAPTER 26: THREE

Danzo was quick to turn Pain's destruction to his and "the Village's" favor. Soon after he learned that Tsunade was incapacitated, he went to the Daimyo to remove the Hokage from her office. The Daimyo quickly agreed, realizing that the village needed a leader. Danzo nominated himself to become the sixth, a title he received after much debate. While the rest of the villagers were sleeping in tents, Danzo was sleeping in a makeship office. He used these new powers to completely militarize the village. All resources went into strengthening the shinobi force of the village. Every shinobi was given orders to return to the village, any who didn't within a fortnight were declared missing-nin and were viciously hunted down. Danzo used this as a political move by putting all his political opponents weeks away before he gave these orders. Unfortunately, the young Uzumaki and his friends were on Mount Myoboku when the orders were given. The orders took over two weeks to reach them, making Naruto, Sakura, and Ino all missing-nin in the eyes of the village. Even Tsunade was with them, unconscious of course, to avoid being eliminated by Danzo.

"What?!" shouted Naruto when the orders reached him, "I have to get back now!". "Don't bother," said Fukasaku, "It is dated from over three weeks ago. Long after the order's time limit." "He's right," said Sakura, "This has to be a political exile. I don't know why though. You're a massive strength for the village. It must be because of the Kyuubi." "Yeah, I guess it wasn't my best moment to go three tails when he became Hokage." "No it wasn't," said Ino walking, "I heard we just got our orders. What were they?" "Bad," responded Naruto and Sakura in unison. The trio would stay on Mount Myoboku for another two months, until Tsunade woke up and Ino's pregnancy was in its fourth month.

"She's waking up!" yelled Sakura as her master began to stir. Everyone rushed to Tsunade's bedside, as the ex-Hokage began to speak weakly: "Where am I?". "Mount Myoboku master," Sakura answered, "After the village was destroyed Danzo took over. The village is now hostile towards us." answered Sakura. "Food, I need food." "Naruto get her some food." "R-right."

Tsunade ate a month's worth of food over the next two days, leaving her fellow missing-nin all astonished. After she finished her meal, Tsunade began to notice the little things. After a mere glance she noticed Ino was portraying signs of pregnancy. She called her student aside later and asked, Sakura agreed. They both decided that Ino was most definitely pregnant. The next day the four Konoha shinobi had to decide on a plan. "So, what are we going to do?" asked Ino, "We can't stay missing-nin, that's for sure." "But," asked Naruto, "how do we stop being missing-nin. We can't just rejoin the village." "What about just eliminating the system?" asked Sakura. Everyone looked at her a little strange. "Ok, I know it sounds strange, but hear me out. Lady Tsunade you were never formally removed, Danzo just kinda took over. He doesn't even have the support of the public. In fact, only the sand villagers seem to like him. Even then it's only half of them. I bet if we got Lady Tsunade into the village everyone would take her side. Then Lady Tsunade, you could just retract the missing-nin system." "Why couldn't I just undo our missing-nin status?" questioned Tsunade. "Because this was to rid the village of tons of shinobi, not just us." answered Naruto, who just understood. "Oh, I get it!" said Ino, "So, how do we do this?" "Rebelion"

Sasuke had been hiding out in the land of grass ever since he'd killed Orochimaru. Since then, his curse mark faded and left him without his biggest power. Still, he waited for an opportunity to kill his brother. That is, until his brother found him.

This strange situation was partly due to Pain's destruction of Konoha. The night after the destruction, The Akatsuki were shaken up by a betrayal.

In the Hidden Rain, Nagato was sitting in his room trying to justify what he just did when Tobi walked in. "What the hell was that?!" demanded Tobi. "Education," muttered Nagato, "Now they know pain." Obito punched him. "Do you have any idea what you just did? That wasn't Sunagakure you messed with, it was Konoha. The level of shinobi in that village is immense, and now they're fucking pissed! They will come for you, it's only a matter of time." Tobi left, leaving behind a bruised Nagato. He would retrieve the Rinnegan later, Nagato couldn't be trusted with it anymore.

How Itachi learned of that conversation, no one in the Akatsuki ever figured out, but he did. And, four months later when Obito went for the Rinnegan, Itachi was ready.

Obito crept up behind Nagato, sharingan ready he struck. Unfortunately, he saw out of the corner of his eye an active mangekyo belonging to another. Suddenly Obito fell into Itachi's Tsukuyomi, incapacitating him momentarily. Itachi used this moment to steal one of Obito's eyes, but it wasn't long enough to steal both. Obito lashed out at the other Uchiha, until they both noticed. Nagato was already dead of natural causes. Suddenly the Uchihas puth their focus on getting the Rinnegan first, a task Itachi failed at. Thankfully, for Itachi, he'd stolen Obito's mangekyo. This eye allowed Itachi to escape into the Kamui dimension. Itachi Uchiha had stolen Obito's most powerful eye, only for it to be replaced with a much more powerful one, but he did escape. Itachi wandered in the Kamui dimension far enough to escape Obito's grasp.

Itachi was wounded, but not disheartened. From this point on, he had one goal: to find his brother and make him amend his ways. Itachi knew it would come to this moment ever since Pain killed his recipient. Though the man never knew who his source was, Itachi thought that Jiraiya had an inkling. It would explain why he didn't kill him in that hotel. Poor Pervy Sage.
