CHAPTER 29: Polarities and Deviations

"Sasuke?!" questioned Naruto, shocked at the arrival of his old friend: "What are you doing here, and why are you with Itachi, and who is that woman?" "Dobe," said Sasuke, greeting his old friend. "No, no, no. You are going to answer my question Sasuke. You don't just appear after years here of all places." "Make me." "I'll bring you back yet." The pair clashed as the rest of Naruto's group approached the other two Uchiha.

"Sasuke?" asked Sakura, unable to process her former teammate's return, "who are those two?" "Get back," yelled Fukasaku towards Mikoto and Itachi, "We will not let you pass until you state your business!" "I am Mikoto Uchiha, summoner of Gamamichi. We have come here to seek asylum from hostile forces." "Leave, we don't want any more trouble than we already have!" said Fukaku, until Naruto cut him off. Naruto in the midst of his battle with Sasuke shouted out: "Don't go. Let them stay!", as Sasuke struck him across the cheek.

"If Naruto believes in you three, I don't like it, but he is a good judge of people. You three can stay, assuming your son doesn't kill my student," resolved Fukaku. "I don't trust them," said Sakura, "Didn't Itachi kill his whole clan? Wasn't that the reason Sasuke hated him, why are they teamed up now?" "All can be explained," said Itachi, "It all started with…" the group talked for several minutes, trying to get over their differences and understand each other. This conversation commenced until Naruto and Sasuke's battle ended. In one final clash between Chidori and Rasengan, the boys resolved their differences and knocked each other out. When they woke up, they would team up to help each other's causes. Tsunade went to help Sasuke, leaving Naruto in Sakura's care.

Back in Naruto's tent, the boy began to stir awake. He looked around, noticing a familiar pinkette by his bed. "Hey Sakura," he said weakly, "Did you see how Sasuke is back?" "Yeah," said Sakura, "It will be good to be a team again." "Sorry I hurt his face, I know you love him." "It's ok, he deserved it. Please be still, you need your rest." Naruto nodded his head, agreeing to Sakura's terms. "Besides," said Sakura, "I haven't liked him for a while now. My eyes have been on someone else, but they too are out of reach. Congratulations, Naruto. Ino told me." Inner was crying as Sakura left the tent. "Take care of Naruto," Sakura said to Ino, who was just entering the tent, "Take good care of him."

Within the week, Naruto and Ino wed. It was a small ceremony, with Tsunade officiating, and Sakura and the Uchiha's as witnesses. "Does anyone have a reason these two should not wed?" Sakura bit her tongue from that point on. She was happy for her friends, but couldn't help feeling selfish. Her wishes were for the wedding to end right there and Naruto to sweep her up, but she knew that would never happen. Inner cried for her as the two blonds joined in holy matrimony. When Ino threw the bouquet, Sakura was the one to catch it. 'Someday,' she thought, 'Maybe not to Naruto, but someday.' She joined her friends in celebrating. Even if she was feeling sorry for herself, she was still overjoyed for her friends.

On the cliffs next to Kumogakure, four of the Akatsuki climb up the cliff face. Three would perish, two would contribute, and one would leave with the prize. In then end, a several of the mountains were turned to rubble by clay based explosions. Countless puppets lay lifeless on the pile next to their puppeteer. The Raikage's head lay next to the previously five hearted man's corpse. The village was one kage and Jinchuuriki poorer as Kisame carried Bee away, leaving his teammate's bodies behind. "Poor fools," said the child of the bloody mist as he left for the Akatsuki's hideout.

In Kisame's home village, two more akatsuki crept in. The man called "Madara" entered the village's borders with his current teammate Hidan. They had already taken the tailed beast, now they were going in for closure. They would spend the rest of the night staining the Bloody-Mist red. The women and children were easy to take care of, with only the few ex-shinobi putting up a fight. The Gennin were the next easiest, but Obito could hardly distinguish between them and the non-ninja. Hidan took out the village's leadership with only one slash to his own stomach, "Commit Seppuku!" he yelled, enjoying himself; he made Jashin very proud that night. Next the team went after the higher ranking shinobi. Though their ranks were higher, their fighting prowess wasn't much compared to the S-ranked shinobi. Mei was the only one who could have thought herself spared, that was until Obito found her. He made it look easy, his fire style was much greater than her lava. Obito knew it was time to go when Hidan couldn't stop screaming, "Jashin! Jashin! Look what I've done! Are you not satisfied!". Hidan would have to stay in the village, Obito could never let another soul know what he'd done. Instead, he would cut off the Jashin worshiper's head and leave it on a stake. The body would never be found, but the head would be. Beneath the head, Obito left a note.

I MADARA UCHIHA HEREBY DECLARE THE FOURTH GREAT NINJA WAR/MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THESE SOULS

Behind Hidan's head was the bodies of the thousands of citizens of the Mist. No one could Ignore this blatant attack on the World. Every village was under threat. It wasn't until three days later that a leaf ambassador reached the Mist. His message would have been for the Mizukage, but instead he had to send one back home.
