Chapter Nine: Talks and Favorites

NIGHT — Danvers apartment
"So," Oliver said walking from Kara's kitchen into the living room where both twins sat "There's a pizza in the oven and vegetables on the stove," he told them sitting between them both..
"Vegetables with Pizza?" Robby questioned "That's disgusting!"
"Well vegetables give you muscles," Oliver told him.
"Mommy tells us that all the time but it's not important since we're gonna have super strength when we're older right Astra?"
Astra only nodded playing with her bravely.
"You have powers?" Oliver questioned, of course he knows about Kara's alien side but he wasn't sure if it passed down to the kids.
"Not yet," Robbie said "This," he showed Oliver his necklace with a red jewel in the middle "It hides our powers until we're ready."
"Was this your mother's choice?" asked Oliver reaching to touch the necklace as Robbie nodded.
Oliver hummed his gaze leaving the necklace and going over to Astra whose been silent the entire time.
"Astra, your bothers been quite to talker, what about you?" Oliver asked "Tell me something about yourself."
"Robbie, I think it's time to show Oliver your present you got for him..." Astra said Oliver's name making it clear that she wanted to have a talk.
Robbie's face lite up remembering his drawing jumping off the couch running towards his bedroom.
"I might be five years old but I'm not like my brother, I won't talk to you about things personal," she turned to Oliver "I was excited to do that but then you never came around my excitement faded quickly."
"Astra I —"
"Do you love me and my brother?" Astra cut him off "Do you love my mom?"
"I...yes...I love all three of you."
"How? You hardly even know my brother and I and we hardly know you," Astra pointed out "Robbie is telling you everything, but what about you all we know is that you died," Oliver let out a sigh "How could you still love my mom? How do you know you still love her if you hurt her?" Astra continued.
"Hurt her?" Oliver repeated.
"That isn't something I should talk to you about," Astra told him.

NIGHT — Laurel's Apartment
Several cops and medics are in the apartment;, Laurel and Kara stand watching everything Quentin walks in, "Daddy!"Laurel said then they hugged
"Oh, thank God. Thank God. Are you all right?" Quentin asked Laurel.
"I'm okay," Laurel sighed then Quentin's gaze fell on Kara.
"Kara," Quentin pulled Kara into a hug "Are you okay?"
"Quentin," Kara hugged him back "I'm fine."
After the Gamble went down Kara became like a third daughter to Quentin, he helped her out when Moira refused to help her with anything.
"Where are the twins?" Quentin asked as they pulled out the hug.
"They're fine, they're at home with Oliver." Kara answered.
"Home with Oliver?" Quentin raised an eyebrow.
"It's...I'll explain some other time," Kara said and Quentin only nodded.

NIGHT — Streets of Starling City
Even though the attack was meant for Laurel, Quentin made two cops drive Kara home and she did protest.
She sat in the back of the car watching the buildings and lights go by.
'They weren't all assassins,' she thought thinking back to the fight hearing all the heart beats 'Some of them were aliens.'
She was snapped out of her thoughts when the car stopped in front of her apartment building, she got out the car, shut the door, then headed up to her apartment.

Inside Kara's apartment
Oliver sat on Kara's couch scrolling through all the photos that Robbie had took of them three (Oliver, Astra, and Robbie), Oliver had a real smile on his face in all of the photos, he was surprised when he saw one of him and Astra when both were in the kitchen adding toppings to the pizza.
Both of the twins were asleep in their rooms.
Oliver's head snapped up at the door opening revealing Kara walking through the door setting her keys in a bowl kicking off her shoes.
"Hey," Oliver flashed her a smile.
"My apartments clean," Kara said not greeting him, normally when she left the twins with a babysitter and came back home her apartment would be nearly destroyed and they'd still be running around "My kids are quiet," she added now looking up at Oliver "How...What did you do?"
"Watched movies, played with toys, cooked, ate, cleaned, then bathe," Oliver told her.
This was what she always dreamed of Oliver being home when she got back from work him helping with their kids then all of that was snatched away when the Gambit drowned and her dreams sank along with it.
"You've been stranded on an island for five years and you come back knowing how to maintain kids?" Kara stated but it sounded more like a question as she walked over the couch sitting next to him.
"I still have experience from when Thea was a baby I guess," Oliver shrugged.
"Those are a lot of pictures," Kara saw his gallery "I should have mentioned that Robbie likes to take photos even when you're not looking."
"No it's fine," Oliver shook his head "Why are you back early?"
"What do you mean early?"
"Well when we were in college your girl nights with Laurel would last until the next day."
"Well our night was interrupted by assassins," Kara told him.
Oliver's head turned towards her "What?"
"Someone is after Laurel and me," she told him.
"What makes you think that?" Oliver asked.
"The heartbeats," Kara told him "Some of them were human and the others were alien."
"Alien? I thought you and your cousin were the only aliens on earth?" Oliver questioned.
This seemed normal. How was talking about aliens with his/her ex fiancé normal? There was no tension in the air not awkwardness just a comfortable conversation happening between the both of them.
"Well there's J'onn."
"Who?"
"Sorry you never formally met him," Kara sighed "Hank, my uncle Hank."
"What? Hanks an alien?" Oliver looked shocked by this.
Kara nodded "plus there are the ones that come after me — I mean after Supergirl," Kara corrected herself.
"I know," Oliver told her and she looked at him "I've known since you saved Tommy and I," he smiled at her.
"You...knew?"
"You also seem to be having help," he said.
"Uh...yeah," she nodded.
"Kara," Oliver took her hands in his own "I don't expect you to forgive me for what I did to you, for cheating on you, hurting you and leaving you to raise the twins alone or with whatever help you had," he told her "The whole reason I actually came over here was because as I told you I wanted to apologize, Thea pointed out that pushing people away and being a jerk doesn't help anything...so what I'm trying to say is I'm sorry and I want to be involved even if we aren't together anymore," he finished.
Both of them stared at each other next thing either of them knew Kara was kissing Oliver deeply.
