As Yua walked to Kal'tsit's office alongside Vanilla, a lot of things were going through her head. "Why does Doctor Kal'tsit want to see me? Has something happened with my father? Does she know about the file I took? Does she now see me as an enemy?" The white-haired lung was worrying about all the situations that could happen, and internally, she was panicking; she wanted to get to the office and find out why she was summoned. They eventually arrived outside the office, and Vanilla knocked on the door. They waited until a "Come in" was heard, and the two of them entered.
Once they entered, Yua saw Doctor Kal'tsit focused on some paperwork while her father returned from his meetings; Yua breathed a quiet sigh of relief, knowing he was alright. Both the doctor and the ancient feline looked at the visitors, and Vanilla spoke, "I have brought Operator Smokescreen for you, Doctor Kal'tsit." Kal'tsit replied, "Thank you, operator Vanilla, although it is not me who wanted to see her, but the doctor, thank you anyway, you are dismissed." Nodding in response, Vanilla then left Yua with both doctors.
Once they were sure they were alone, the doctor spoke. "So, Yua," he began, "I heard that you and Ch'en had a sparring session in the training room, and I also heard that you beat her." Yua replied, "Yes, father. That was the training session that Hoshiguma had set up for me today. I was also supposed to spar with her, but seeing as I did so well, Hoshiguma said to relax for the rest of the day; she said we will spar again another time." The doctor looked pleased by this. "Well, next time you spar with anyone, I want to be there," he continued. "I've missed a lot of your life; I want to see how you progress from here on out."
Yua smiled at the doctor "I would love that, father." Kal'tsit then spoke up, "While I understand you want to see your daughter's progress, doctor, you need to be careful. Spend too much time with Yua, and other operators will start asking questions. I would imagine some are already suspicious of her because she is your secretary; both of you need to be careful." After Kal'tsit spoke, Yua knew she was right. They did have to be careful. If they kept spending time together, other operators could either get the wrong idea or put two and two together, either of which could mean trouble for the pair of them.
Speaking of trouble, a voice was then heard from the corridor. "Move it, pipsqueak! Out of my way!" Everyone's eyes in the room widened, Kal'tsit thought "Not her! Why is she here now? I thought she still wouldn't be back for a while; this is the last thing I need." Footsteps got closer to the door and stopped, then the door swung open. All three occupants of the room looked at the new arrival. Yua knew this person more than she would have liked. She remembered the red horns, the tail, the sadistic smile this person had. This person brought back horrible memories for the girl. She was someone who Yua genuinely despised, the infamous sarkaz mercenary…
W...
Seeing the occupants of the room looking at her, W spoke to them. "So, hello everybody, miss me?" "I certainly wouldn't miss you." Thought Yua as she looked at the sarkaz woman. Seeing that the young girl was looking at her, W questioned Yua. "And who are you, girl? Another one of the doctor's pawns?" Kal'tsit answered for Yua. "This is the doctor's new secretary, W; her code name is Smokescreen." W laughed at this answer. "Hahaha! New secretary; I feel sorry for you kid, you don't know what the man is truly like." W then turned to the doctor. "But then again, you don't know what you are truly like, isn't that right, doctor?" W knew of the doctor's amnesia but refused to give him answers. She also hated the man for what he did in the past, and she wanted to kill him for it.
It was only because of the doctor's amnesia that she hadn't tried to kill him yet; if he ever remembered his past and what he had done, she promised she would kill him. Until then, the sarkaz woman agreed to work with him. That didn't mean she wouldn't pass up a chance to mess with him every chance she got. Seeing that the sarkaz was trying to toy with him, the doctor simply asked, "What are you here for, W?" She replied. "I simply came to tell Doctor Kal'tsit that I'm back from what I was doing, nothing much." Hearing this, the ancient feline replied, "Well, thank you, W, but we are busy right now, so can you please come back another time?" Seeing that she wasn't wanted, W replied, "Fine, I'll probably see you around anyway." Before turning around and leaving the room.
When W left the room, Yua was still angry; she hated W's guts and had good reason for doing so...
Eight-year-old Yua had come to the logistics centre to pick up something for her mother. She knew that her mother was very busy ever since her father disappeared a year ago; every operator told her that if she worked hard, her father would return. So, the little girl vowed to help whomever she could, and when her father returned, he would be so proud of her. Her mother would be here soon; she was just talking with her Aunt Swire.
As she looked around, she saw a red-haired Sankta behind a conveyor belt; it was Miss Exusiai. Going up to the desk, the young girl made her presence known. "Hello, Miss Exusiai!" Hearing a voice, the sankta turned towards it. "Hello, Yua," the sankta replied. "I've just come to collect something for momma." She said she would be here soon, but she's just talking with Auntie Swire." The sankta knew what it was the blue-haired lung wanted, "I know what your momma wants, Yua. Wait here, and I will go get it for you." The sankta then left to go in the back to collect what was needed for Ch'en.
Yua noticed that Miss Exusiai wasn't as energetic as she used to be; ever since she lost her best friend, Miss Texas, she hadn't been the same. She was probably missing her. There was also another scary lupo lady that used to be here, but Yua didn't know what happened to her. As Yua was waiting for Exusiai, she heard footsteps behind her. Turning around, she was confronted with the image of a sarkaz woman. Yua knew who it was—Miss W.
"Hello, Miss W," the girl greeted the sarkaz woman. "Well, hello, look who do we have here? What are you doing here, kid?" W replied. The young lung cheerfully stated, "I'm here to pick up something for momma." W nodded at this. Yua continued, "Everyone said that if I help who I can, papa will come back! So that's why I'm helping momma, so papa will come back." W knew who the lung was on about, Her father, the doctor. W hated the man with a passion. The sarkaz woman wanted to kill the man, she wanted her revenge, and she probably would never get it. This made her angry, someone had to pay, and his brat was right in front of her. She would inherit the man's sins...
Getting down on one knee to get eye level with the girl, W spoke. "Well, I'm going to tell you the truth, kid. Your father isn't coming back." Yua was puzzled by W saying this. "Why isn't he coming back, Miss W?" The young lung asked the sarkaz. W, with a sick grin on her face, then told the girl, "Simple…he doesn't love you…he doesn't want to see you anymore." Yua was upset by this. "But he does love me; he loves Momma as well, Momma says we mean the world to him." The sarkaz wanted to throw up when Yua said this to her. W then stood up and shouted down at the girl. "No, he doesn't love you; it's your fault! It's all lies! He hates you! That's why he has gone! It's all your fault! He...hates...you!" W emphasised the last bit of her sentence to really twist the knife into the young lung. However, the girl shouted back defiantly, "No! You're lying! Papa will come back! Everyone said he would come back!"
In response, she shouted viciously at Yua, "He isn't coming back!! And it's all your fault!! He doesn't want anything to do with you ever again!! So stop hoping he will come back, girl!!" This brought Yua to tears, the lung started crying profusely, the sarkaz's words had hurt her gravely. W was satisfied seeing the girl's broken spirit; if she couldn't exact revenge on the doctor, his daughter would have to do so. A voice was then heard from the entrance, and it sounded furious. "What the hell are you doing to my daughter!?" Turning around, W faced the voice—it was Ch'en, Yua's mother.
Stomping over to the pair, Ch'en came in between the two of them and faced W. "I'll ask again, W. What are you doing to my daughter!! Why is she crying?!" W simply replied, "I'm just telling her the truth." Ch'en was not happy with what W said. "The truth? What do you mean by the truth? What have you said to Yua?!" W was happy to elaborate. "Simple, I'm telling her why her father isn't coming back; he is tired of playing happy families." She then gave Ch'en a glance up and down. "Or maybe he is tired of the 'fun' he's had with you, if you catch my meaning. I know I would. I wouldn't blame him if he decided to leave you and this brat. Who knows, maybe he's found someone else to "fool around" with if you catch my meaning."
This caused Ch'en to clench her fist; she didn't like what W was implying, she so desperately wanted to punch her, but her daughter was here and she was deeply upset. Ch'en didn't want to make Yua even more upset than she already was. Not wanting to make her daughter feel worse, Ch'en told W in a very stern voice. "W...I suggest you leave...right now!" To most people, this would have gotten them to leave, they wouldn't want to push the buttons of the blue-haired lung further, but not W; seeing as she was getting under Ch'en's skin, she decided to poke the lung even more.
"Why? Are you upset because he doesn't want you anymore or that he is sick of his br-" W didn't even get to finish her sentence. Ch'en had sent W across the room with a vicious punch; she had heard enough from the sarkaz. It took a second for W to realise she had been hit and lost a tooth, which only got her enraged. W got to her feet and charged at Ch'en. Seeing W coming, Ch'en told Yua to get out of the way and hide. Yua did as her mother asked and hid where she could.
A vicious fist fight broke out between W and Ch'en; neither were holding back. The fight was causing damage to the logistics center as the environment was also being used as a weapon by the two of them as well as their fists. Hearing all of the noise, this drew Exusiai's attention while she was in the back. "What the hell is going on?!" The sankta shouted. Exusiai then left the back to see what was going on. When she saw what was going on, however, Exusiai got on the radio. "I need help down here! Ch'en and W are tearing this place apart!" Within minutes, many operators arrived to split the two of them up.
When the two of them were separated, they still kept throwing insults at each other; the operators were struggling to keep them apart. This carried on until a voice boomed out, "Enough of this! Both of you!" Seeing who it was, everyone, including W and Ch'en, calmed down. Doctor Kal'tsit had arrived as soon as she could when she heard the message over the radio, and she was furious. She ordered the operators to remove W from there: "Get her out of here! Take her somewhere where she can cool off!" Seeing the mood that Doctor Kal'tsit was in, the operators complied immediately; they did not want to suffer her wrath.
Kal'tsit then walked up to the operators restraining Ch'en and told them to release her; she then asked Ch'en, "What happened? Why is the logistics centre in the state it is in now? Why were you fighting with W?" Ch'en explained what had happened with W and that she snapped when W pushed her too far. Kal'tsit nodded "I see what's happened now, W didn't just insult Ch'en, she also was bullying Yua, a child, that's low even for you, W." Understanding the situation, Kal'tsit told Ch'en to come to her office, she also called out to Yua that the situation was over now and she could come out, Yua did come out of hiding when she knew it was safe and went with Kal'tsit and her mother to Kal'tsit's office.
Once inside, the ancient feline began treating the blue-haired lungs wounds. She told her, "I understand why you did what you did, Ch'en. W went too far, I promise I will deal with her later." Ch'en replied, "Thank you, Doctor Kal'tsit, and I apologize for my actions; I didn't want to nearly destroy the logistics centre." While the two were talking, Yua was thinking about what Miss W had told her. Was she the reason her papa left? Did he really hate her? Was it all…her fault?
Eventually, Yua spoke up and asked, "Momma, is everything my fault? Does Papa hate me? Is that why he's gone?" Ch'en couldn't believe what her daughter was asking; of course it wasn't. Getting up from her treatment, she went over to Yua, got down on a knee, and told her, "Sweetheart, it's not your fault, nothing is your fault, don't listen to what W said, I love you, if your father was here, he would say the same, you understand?" Kal'tsit then spoke to confirm what her mother had said, "Your mother is telling you the truth, Yua, you are the one thing your father kept telling me about, you mean everything to him. So don't listen to what W said to you." Seeing that these two people were telling her the truth, this caused the girl to smile again; Yua then hugged Ch'en, as if her life depended on it.
Remembering this, Yua promised herself she would never let someone like W crush her spirits again. Even if this W wasn't the one she knew, she would stand up to her. Saying goodbye to both doctors after the meeting with W, she needed time to herself. Once Yua left Kal'tsit could only think, "This is another problem I don't need... I hope Irene replies soon..."
