Yua couldn't believe it, someone was rescuing her, or so she hoped. Whoever they were, she didn't care; right now, they just stopped a madman from turning her into a seaborn. Seeing their leader go down, the members of the church of the deep had no idea what to do. The lady who had stepped forward earlier spoke again: "Release the girl, if you do not, we will come at you with the force of a thousand waves."
Yua didn't know what the remaining cultists of the deep members were going to do, or if the four individuals could defeat them - they were heavily outnumbered. One cultist of the church of the deep then decided to attack, his weapon aimed for the tall lady's throat, but before his weapon could connect, a shot was fired and it hit the man in the chest. He then slumped to the ground, completely dead.
"So, it's going to be this way, huh?" the purple-haired woman of the group said, the barrel of her gun smoking. After this, the rest of the church of the deep began to attack the four individuals. "Everybody! To arms!" the tall lady shouted; the other members then got ready for battle, and they began attacking the church of the deep.
The other two members present charged and began cutting through their enemies with little effort, one of them laughing maniacally as she was tearing through the church of the deep cultists. The tall lady was taking out her enemies from range with what looked like some sort of lance, and the purple-haired woman was shooting down the enemies with unreal speed and precision.
Yua was stunned from where she was watching and what she was seeing; the white-haired lung was worried about these people, but looking at what was going on, she had no reason to be. The church of the deep was getting utterly annihilated. After a gruelling few minutes, the last church of the deep cultist fell. All of their bodies littering were the hall around them. The four members who were unharmed then made their way to the altar where Yua was currently chained up.
One of them then spoke to the chained up lung, "Aww, look what we have here, a pure defenseless maiden wrapped up pretty like a present, how delightful." The way this one was looking at Yua was really freaking her out. The tall lady then spoke, "Free the girl, Laurentina, she has been through enough." The one called Laurentina then replied, "But she looks so pretty Gladiia, can't I just admire her a bit more?" The one called Gladiia gave Laurentina a stern look, as if telling her to let this girl go. Seeing as she wasn't going to win the argument, the one known as Laurentina complied by cutting the chains with her weapon.
Once freed, Yua remembered something. "Laurentina and Gladiia. where have I heard that second name before?" After a few seconds, it hit her. "I remember! It's one of the names of the abyssal hunters in that file! If the tall lady is Gladiia, the other three must be Skadi, Spectre, and Andreana!" Yua now knew who her rescuers were. Gladiia then decided to question Yua. She wanted some answers as to why this person was here. "Who are you, girl? And what are you doing here?" The white-haired lung knew she couldn't lie to them. Her uniform would give away which organisation she was a part of. "My name is Yua, codename Smokescreen, I'm an operator of Rhodes Island." She continued; "I came here searching for information regarding the church of the deep and the seaborn."
Upon hearing this, Gladiia thought to herself, "Not many operators would know about the Church of the Deep, or even the Seaborn. Who told her? Also, why would this operator decide to come alone?" Gladiia wanted more answers from this girl. She said, "Do you not know how dangerous they are? The church of the deep is a dangerous organization, and the seaborn are abominations; neither are to be taken lightly." Yua, however, then looked at Gladiia with a stern look and spoke to her. "I know more about the seaborn than you think. How they kill indiscriminately, how they cause nothing but destruction. I have fought them many times before, I know what the seaborn are capable of."
Hearing the way this girl was speaking about them, Gladiia could tell Yua wasn't lying. She definitely sounded like someone who was used to fighting them. Satisfied for now, Gladiia then asked, "Very well, I would imagine you would like to return to Rhodes Island, correct?" Yua nodded. "Then we shall return as well," Gladiia said. "I need to speak with both the doctor and Doctor Kal'tsit." The five of them then began to leave the hall. As they were leaving, Gladiia was thinking to herself, "I will need to ask Doctor Kal'tsit about this girl. She doesn't seem like a regular land dweller."
At Rhodes Island, the doctor was pacing about in his office. "Where could she be?" The man was wondering where his daughter was. "First W gets sent on a job without me knowing, and now Yua has gone missing." Ch'en had come to the doctor's office that morning; the blue-haired lung informed the man she couldn't find Yua. She had asked around the camp, but no one had seen her. Ch'en then came to the landship but still couldn't find her fellow lung.
Thinking that Yua might have been sent somewhere like W, Ch'en came to the doctor, but he didn't know anything, which was the reason he was now pacing around in his office. Seeing the man like this, the blue-haired lung pondered, "He must be worried sick. Why would she disappear like this? What happened? Did she leave in the night? Or was she taken?" Ch'en had all these questions but no answers. A knock on the door was then heard, which got the doctor's attention and caused him to ask whoever it was to come in.
Amiya then entered the office; she noticed the doctor and Ch'en were there, and both of them looked like they were expecting someone. As soon as they saw who it was, they looked somewhat disappointed. Something was definitely wrong, so Amiya decided to ask, "Hello, Doctor, Miss Ch'en. Is everything alright?" The doctor responded, "No, Amiya. Yua has gone missing this morning. No one has seen her, and I can't even find Kal'tsit to ask if she knows anything." Yua had gone missing? This was odd; Amiya then remembered yesterday evening that she was given a letter by Doctor Kal'tsit, who asked her to hand it to Yua. Amiya decided to tell the doctor this. "Doctor, yesterday Doctor Kal'tsit gave me a letter to give to her. She didn't say what it was about, just that it was for her eyes only."
A letter? This caught the attention of both Ch'en and the doctor. "This must be the reason why Yua isn't here," the doctor thought. "But why didn't Kal'tsit tell me anything?" the man questioned internally. Ch'en then spoke up. "Doctor, I will check Yua's tent again; the letter might still be there." The doctor nodded. "Yes, please Ch'en, I would be grateful." The blue-haired lung then left the room. Amiya was finding this strange, while the doctor cared about all his operators, he was showing a lot more care with Yua. The cautus wanted to know why, "Doctor, what aren't you telling me? Why have you put in so much effort with this operator? I need to know the truth."
The man knew he couldn't hide it forever; sooner or later, Amiya would find out one way or another. Gathering his courage, he then decided to tell Amiya the truth. "Amiya, before I tell you anything, you must promise me that you won't tell anyone, enough people know as it is." Amiya nodded to show she she promised she wouldn't tell anyone. "Well, this may come as a surprise to you. It certainly was to me, but Yua, Operator Smokescreen... She is my daughter." What! Did she just hear that right? Yua was the doctor's daughter? How? When? Amiya had so many questions for the doctor. The man knew by the way Amiya was looking at him the cautus had so many questions to ask him. He couldn't blame Amiya. She just found out she practically had a sister, albeit a non-blood related one. The doctor then spoke, "Let's sit down. This is going to be a lot to explain to you." He told Amiya, and they then sat down. The doctor then began to explain everything to Amiya...
After hearing the doctor's story, Amiya was visibly upset; she couldn't believe that Yua had lost her mother and hadn't gotten to grow up with her father like Amiya did. Also, why would Doctor Kal'tsit think this would cause problems between the two of them? It certainly wouldn't with Amiya. If anything, Amiya wanted to know everything about the white-haired lung. Now that she knew who Yua was, Amiya wanted to find her as well; the cautus wanted to take every operator she could to look for her sister. Ch'en then came in holding the letter. "Here is the letter," she told him. The doctor then read it aloud. "So the coast is where she is. Why didn't you tell me, Kal'tsit?" The doctor had plenty of questions for Kal'tsit when she returned.
Amiya then remembered what the doctor told her; Ch'en was one of the people that knew, she had to find out who else knew about Yua. So Amiya asked Ch'en. "Miss Ch'en, the doctor told me that you know about Yua; who else knows?" This caught Ch'en off guard; she didn't expect the doctor to tell anyone, let alone Amiya.
Ch'en knew she couldn't lie to Amiya, so she told her, "Myself, Swire, Doctor Kal'tsit and unfortunately, W as well." W knew? The doctor then spoke up, "Unfortunately, yes. W has threatened to tell everyone the truth if we don't listen to her. She has been pushing Yua hard with work. That's what Ch'en has told me. I would love to stop her, but unfortunately, because of what she knows, I can't. If W tells the landship, it would cause pandemonium."
Hearing this, Amiya felt...angry. Amiya saw herself as a kind, forgiving person willing to give anyone a second chance. W, however, was using this information to blackmail the doctor and hurt her sister, which was unforgivable in her eyes. "I understand, Doctor. I will speak to you later." Amiya then got up and left the room. The doctor then began formulating a plan with Ch'en to find Yua.
Once alone, Amiya felt her anger increasing; she could not forgive W for what she was doing. She knew the sarkaz woman had past issues with the doctor, but that gave her no right to punish her sister like this. Amiya promised that when W returned from wherever she was, there would be hell to pay...
