A vehicle was currently driving in the dead of night across Iberia. It was carrying five occupants, and their mission was to destroy a hideout of the church of the deep. Andreana was the driver of the vehicle with Gladiia in the front passenger seat, Yua was in the rear seat with Specter and Skadi.

"This feels familiar, sandwiched between these two." the lung thought, she remembered the last time she encountered the church of the deep and then the abyssal hunters rescued her from being turned into a seaborn creature. Yua hoped that a similar incident wouldn't happen again.

Looking to her right, the white-haired could see Skadi. The aegir hadn't talked since they set off from Rhodes Island. She never knew the aegir from her time, nobody ever mentioned her or the other members of the abyssal hunters "It's strange that nobody mentioned them in the future. What happened? Did they become seaborn?" Yua pondered to herself; the white-haired lung wanted to discover the truth about them, but for now, she had a mission to carry out.

Skadi was currently looking out of the window, the dream from earlier still playing on her mind. She was trying to focus on the mission, but she couldn't. "Was it truly a dream? Or was that really a version of me from the future? And why should I see Yua and Ch'en as my enemies? They looked like they killed a lot of seaborn." The aegir was deep in thought.

It was just too much to process. A voice, however, then spoke to her and broke her thoughts "Make no mistake, they are my memories, I saw them happen." Skadi's eyes widened "You! It can't be real! You are lying to me! You are not real!" Skadi answered back.

The voice carried on "I am very much real, I am speaking to you now, deny it all you want, but it's the truth. You can't deny what you will become unless you prevent it from happening." Skadi still didn't understand what the voice meant, "And how do I do that? how can I prevent that from happening?" she questioned the voice.

The voice then chuckled and spoke, "You already know the answer to that, you must kill Yua and Ch'en, they are my enemies, they will become yours as well. I know how you feel for the doctor, you love him, Ch'en will take him from you soon, and Yua will discover what you are sooner or later, if you want to prevent that you must kill them." Skadi was not comfortable with killing her allies, "No! I refuse to do that! Yua is the doctor's daughter! It would devastate the man! He would never forgive me if I did that! And I can prevent Ch'en from taking him, I know I can! I just need to show him how i feel!" Skadi defiantly told the voice.

The voice was not amused "You are naive, I tried to show him how I felt, but it was all for nothing, Ch'en stole him from me. She will do the same again. Sacrificing the two of them is for the greater good, I don't want you to become me and destroy the world."

This shook Skadi to the core."You... destroyed the world?" The voice replied, "I did, I gave in to my despair and looked for nothing more than revenge. If you do not want that to happen, then please consider what I said." The voice then went silent. This left Skadi with a lot to consider. Should she do it? Could she do it? If it meant that the world wasn't destroyed, then Skadi was considering it to be a necessary evil.

The vehicle they were in then stopped, and they all got out. The coordinates they were given led the abyssal hunters and Yua to an old derelict building in the middle of nowhere. They all crept to the doors as to not alert anybody, once Gladiia was certain that they hadn't been detected she whispered instructions to everyone else "I will go in first, Specter you are to follow me, Yua and Skadi, wait thirty seconds then enter in as well and Andreana you will be covering the entrance, if anyone approaches I want you to open fire, we will come and give assistance as soon as we can if we hear gunfire, does everyone understand?" The other members nodded, which showed Gladiia that they understood. Gladiia and Specter then went right up against the doors, looking behind her. Gladiia saw Specter nod, taking this as confirmation that she was ready the two of them charged inside.

The waiting was torture for Yua. The thirty seconds that she was told to wait felt like hours. Once she was certain that enough time had passed, Yua gave the signal to Skadi, and they too went inside, leaving Andreana guarding the entrance. Looking inside, the two of them saw no signs of fighting.

They only saw Gladiia and Specter looking around. Gladiia then saw the pair and walked up to them "We cannot find anything, but the church of the deep might still be here somewhere, we will split up and look around, anything that looks suspicious inform the rest of us, there is a good chance they have a hidden passage or entrance." Yua and Skadi then split in in different directions to look around the building.

As she was looking around, Yua was feeling anxious. This situation didn't feel right with her "It's quiet, too quiet, is this a trap?" she was thinking to herself as she was searching.

Finding a corridor, Yua began to search each of the rooms. Looking into the first one, she found nothing of interest. It was completely empty. Closing the door, she went into the second room, and it looked similar to the first one. There was nothing inside. She did this for each room and could not find anything.

However, once Yua came to the room at the end, she could see blood coming through the other side. This immediately put her on alert, and she drew her sword. Opening the door, she was greeted with a sight that caused her to scream. This drew the attention of the others in the building. When they arrived, they saw the exact same thing that Yua saw, an Iberian man brutally impaled on a stake.

Walking up closer, Gladiia inspected the man, "He looks like a member of the church of the deep, definitely infected with seaborn cells. It looks like he hasn't been dead long." Skadi then asked, "Why is he here? Why is he like this?" Specter answered her question, "He probably was seen as a heretic by the other members, little Skadi, or he decided to turn on them. They probably did this to him to set an example to the rest of the followers to show them the consequences and keep the rest of them in line."

Yua was shocked hearing this, she couldn't believe that the church would do this to its own members, even though this man was possibly involved in some horrible things it still sickened her that they would punish their own people like this, completely without remorse.

Seeing that there was nothing else in this room, Gladiia led them back to the entrance where they first came, Yua was glad that she didn't have to see that sight anymore. A gunshot was then heard, and they all ran to the entrance; Andreana must have found an enemy.

When they got there, they could see many church of the deep members outside advancing on their position. They must have been waiting for them. "So, this was a trap! They cornered us here!" Yua realised this situation was a trap set for them.

Gladiia then told the others "Andreana! give us a cover fire! We will go outside and deal with them! Be careful, everyone! There are many of them!" Gladiia and the others then went outside to fight the enemy while Andreana took cover and took out as many from distance as she could.

Once they were in range, the abyssal hunters and Yua engaged with the church of the deep. Yua struck down the first person who she saw, another member swung his weapon aiming for her neck, but she ducked and stabbed the member through the stomach, and he dropped dead.

Skadi and Specter carved through the members with relative ease. No matter how many threw themselves at the pair, it was pointless. They all suffered the same fate, Specter was enjoying every single moment of this.

Gladiia was using her lance and power to eliminate groups of members. This was child's play to her. She had dealt with worse things before. Andreana, using her incredible marksman abilities, was gunning down any enemies in range, being careful not to hit her teammates. Yua was glad that the abyssal hunters were on her side for the moment. The white-haired lung knew she could not deal with this many enemies on her own.

Eventually, the battle was won, no more church cultists were left alive, Yua could not believe how many they had taken down, and she was glad to still be alive. Gladiia then walked up to her "You fought well Yua, I'm glad that the doctor's daughter knows how to fight so well, I will give my approval to both your father and Doctor Kal'tsit when we return to Rhodes Island." Yua replied "Thank you, Gladiia, I'm glad I didn't let you down." Seeing as there was nothing else to do, Gladiia told everyone else to get in the vehicle and return to Rhodes Island.

On the way back, the voice from earlier spoke to Skadi again, "You see! she is a threat! Yua must be dealt with!" Skadi was still considering what the voice told her earlier, but she knew it had its consequences.

"You can not ignore this, Skadi! Do you really want the world to be destroyed? To lose the doctor to someone else?" Skadi replied, "Of course I don't! But I have to try to win him over first! I don't want to kill Yua or Ch'en! The doctor will never forgive me if I did!" The voice then told Skadi, "You are weak! You are a fool! Yua will do whatever it takes to make sure she is born in this timeline. Trying to win him over will get you nowhere, Yua will stop you, so kill her!" Skadi remained silent; she really didn't want to go through with it.

The voice then said one last thing before it would go silent for the night, "You had best deal with the pair of them soon Skadi...or I will."
