"Talulah..."
When W said that name Yua's eyes widened. "My...aunt. What does W want with my aunt? What's going on?" Yua was struggling to comprehend why the name of her mother's sister was brought up.
W let the lung gather her thoughts before she decided to speak again, when the sarkaz was sure that the lung was ready she began to explain why Talulah's name was brought up, "I bet this is a shock isn't it Yua? I know who and what Talulah is to you. She's your biological aunt. Now I bet you're wondering why would I be speaking about her? Well I'll tell you. I'm sure you already know this, but I was an agent for Reunion."
Yua could only nod at this, Ch'en in the future did speak to her about the future W's history with Reunion...
Ch'en and W in the future absolutely despised each other, that only got worse when the sarkaz did what she did when Yua was young. The blue-haired lung couldn't and wouldn't forgive her for that.
Then, W began to speak again, "When I was in Reunion, Talulah was a great leader, an inspiration to us all. Talulah reminded me of someone else that I used to know, someone who I would have followed into death itself."
Yua found that listening to this was incredibly surprising. The sarkaz woman normally went against the orders of her father and barely listened to Kal'tsit from what she had seen.
Whoever this person was must have meant a lot to W. The sarkaz woman carried on, "Talulah stood up for what she believed in. She wasn't willing to compromise on her beliefs. Also, I owe her so much for all she has done for all of us. Talulah gave many a reason to stand up for themselves and fight for what they believed in. I bet you are wondering why I am telling you all this." W questioned the lung.
Yua nodded; she did find that listening about her aunt was fascinating. The lung wanted to know more. She wanted to know where W was going with all of this.
"Well, after Reunion was defeated in Chernobog by Rhodes Island, Talulah was captured and taken into custody. Reunion, however, managed to free her, and she returned to Reunion. That is when I returned to Rhodes Island. However, from what I know, another leader took her place, an ex-LGD officer called Nine. From what I've been told, the two fought, Talulah then went to Ursus, and Nine went to Victoria where Rhodes Island fought and defeated Reunion yet again. This has caused problems in the ranks. Many in Reunion want Talulah to return as leader, so they are starting to question Nine's leadership and disobey her orders. So Nine is looking for Talulah; she wants to kill her and silence any further dissent within the ranks and take complete control of the organization." W told the lung.
Yua couldn't believe that W of all people was telling her this; she was stunned, but still wanted to know what the sarkaz wanted. She questioned the sarkaz woman, "W, why are you telling me all of this? What do you want?"
W then looked Yua in the eye and told her, "I'm telling you this because I don't want your help, I need your help. Even though I know people who do want to help me save Talulah, it won't be enough. I can't ask anybody here at Rhodes Island. They still see Reunion as the enemy. And even though Nine has dissent in her ranks, she still has a lot of people who will follow her. I can't do this alone. You are the only person I can ask. Talulah is your aunt, so I know you would want to save her anyway. We both win in this situation; I help save a friend, and you help save your family." W explained what she wanted from the white-haired lung.
Yua could tell this was as close to begging as W would ever get, Yua knew that she had to put whatever grudge she had aside, W was more than willing to do that at this very moment...
Saving her aunt's life was more important than whatever her thoughts were for W. "I understand, W. I'll help you if it means saving my aunt." Yua gave her answer to the sarkaz.
This put a huge smile on W's face; she was glad somebody of Yua's skill was willing to help. This gave her a fighting chance to save her friend.
W happily said, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you. I still need to find where Talulah is and where Nine is. Without knowing where they are, we can't do anything. I also need to contact people outside of Rhodes Island who are willing to help. And you still need your injuries to heal. You're no good to anyone at the moment."
Yua looked at her arm, the one that was still in a cast. She knew W was right. The white-haired lung would have to wait...
They needed information, and she had to heal up first, as soon as they had what they needed and Yua was ready, they would both set off to rescue her aunt.
W was then about to leave but before she did Yua stopped her and spoke, "W, wait a second, I just want to say thank you, you telling me this means a lot to me."
W, however didn't turn around. She simply stopped and said, "Don't thank me, Yua, I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this to save someone I care about. If I had any other choice, I wouldn't have come to you. Remember, you and me will never like each other. More than likely, we will be bitter enemies in the future." W then left Yua's room, leaving the lung on her own.
Once Yua was on her own, she promised herself that she would do whatever it took to save her aunt. She didn't want this version of Ch'en to lose her sister again like she did in the future.
Even though Ch'en in the future put on a brave face, Yua could tell that her mother losing her sister deeply affected her; it must have been even worse knowing that it was her own uncle who had executed her. "I promise you, Mother, you won't lose her again. I swear it on my life." Yua swore to herself and to the blue-haired lung that she would rescue her aunt.
The white-haired lung realised that she couldn't let her father, Doctor Kal'tsit, or even Amiya know about this plan.
If they found out what she was planning to do, they would do whatever it took to stop her.
Yua also knew that she would have to put fighting the seaborn on hold for the time being, even though she hated it; preventing Talulah from suffering a grim fate once again took priority for the moment...
Unknown to both Yua and W, however, someone had been listening in on their conversation. It was Red.
The ancient feline had ordered her to watch Yua and W ever since the lung returned from the incident, which caused Yua to be unconscious for nine days.
Kal'tsit still believed that W had a hand in Yua's injuries; the lupo was to observe if the two came into contact and to report anything that was said between them.
Red was also to protect Yua if the situation between the two turned violent. After hearing what was said between them, the lupo knew she had to report what was said to Kal'tsit.
If it involved Reunion and especially their former leader, Red knew it was of the utmost importance that Doctor Kal'tsit knew. The lupo quickly left the area to tell Doctor Kal'tsit everything that she had just heard...
In her office, Kal'tsit was looking over reports that had been sent to her from the doctor regarding the relief operation going on in Lungman.
Rhodes Island had been providing much-needed assistance to the infected and uninfected, mainly in the slum areas. This put Kal'tsit in high spirits; she was glad Rhodes Island was doing what they could for those who needed it the most.
As the ancient feline was looking through the reports, Kal'tsit soon felt another presence in the same room. Kal'tsit knew who it was. She simply asked, "What do you need to report, Red?" The lupo then came out of the shadows and appeared before Kal'tsit.
Red then spoke to her, "Doctor Kal'tsit, Red has urgent news regarding Yua and W. Red believes you want to hear this." Knowing that whatever it was Red wanted to tell her, the ancient feline braced herself.
Red then hesitated; she didn't know how Kal'tsit would react—this information would change everything.
Kal'tsit noticed the lupo was hesitating. "What's gotten Red so nervous? Whatever she has to say must be difficult; I hope W hasn't done anything stupid." Red still couldn't speak, eventually Kal'tsit addressed the lupo, "Red, whatever has happened, it is okay to tell me; you have nothing to worry about."
Hearing this, Red began to calm down. Once she was sure she was ready, Red began to tell Kal'tsit everything that had been said between Yua and W...
When the lupo finished explaining everything to Kal'tsit, the ancient feline was beyond speechless; no words could describe how shocked and stunned she was.
"No way! Yua is related to Talulah?! The former leader of Reunion! Talulah is her aunt! How is this possible?! And how did W find out this information?!" Kal'tsit was screaming internally, as she had never expected the white-haired lung to be hiding something so monumental from her.
Kal'tsit then dismissed Red, telling her to keep an eye on both of them and to inform her immediately if the pair decided to leave to find Talulah.
Once Kal'tsit was alone, she began to gather her thoughts. She realized how seismic this information was, "So Talulah is Yua's aunt; that also means she is related to Ch'en in some way as well. Does Ch'en have another relative that she doesn't know about? Is that who Yua's mother is? And did her mother know who she was related to? I have too many questions. None of this is making sense!" The ancient feline was trying to piece everything together, but she was only finding more questions that she wanted answers to.
Kal'tsit knew that there was only one way to get to the bottom of this—she still had Yua's blood vial. The ancient feline would have to compare it with Ch'en's, which would hopefully give her some answers.
Searching through a medical drawer in her office, Kal'tsit was looking for Ch'en's blood vial; when she found it, she then grabbed Yua's sample and headed to the machine that she used to find out that Yua was the doctor's daughter...
Kal'tsit inserted both of them into the machine and started it up. As it was doing its check, Kal'tsit was pacing up and down.
This was more agonizing than when she was waiting for the results regarding Yua and the doctor...
When it had completed its check, like before, a sheet of paper came out, and Kal'tsit looked it over. If Kal'tsit thought that she wouldn't get any more shocking news today, she was wrong.
The result it said on the paper caused Kal'tsit's brain to nearly have a complete meltdown: "No! This isn't possible! There is no way on Terra that this is possible!" Kal'tsit shouted. The sheet of paper had the exact same result as with the doctor.
DNA match one hundred percent...
Kal'tsit thought that the machine must have been malfunctioning, so she tried again, but the result was still the same.
Kal'tsit several more times, and each time, the machine came back with the exact same result.
Eventually Kal'tsit realized that the machine wasn't malfunctioning; the result was true no matter how much she didn't want to admit it…Ch'en was Yua's mother. "This can't be possible! Ch'en is barely a decade older than Yua! And Ch'en and the doctor had never met before we came to Lungman to help them fight Reunion! I…don't understand how this has happened!"
Kal'tsit couldn't come up with any plausible explanation; this was something that the ancient feline had never in all her long years of living encountered before, and it terrified her.
Kal'tsit was trying to think of a plan; any plan on how she could deal with this. This situation, however, was so bizarre that for once in her life, Kal'tsit didn't know what to do.
"What can i do in this situation? I've never seen anything like this before. To think Yua is Ch'en's and the doctors daughter...It shouldn't be possible. I need answers from Yua herself, I need her in a situation where she can't hide or deny anything anymore!" Kal'tsit thought to herself.
The ancient feline knew she had only one course of action; she had to let Yua and W carry out their plan.
But Kal'tsit wasn't going to just sit idly by...
When the time came, she would take all of Rhodes Island elite operators and follow them wherever they went.
The ancient feline promised that she would get answers from both W and Yua, even if Kal'tsit had to beat the answers out of them.
Kal'tsit also had to keep this information far away from the doctor, Amiya, and Ch'en.
She would also have to continue to maintain her appearance with Yua, just to make sure the lung didn't suspect that Kal'tsit knew this information.
If whatever Yua was planning was going to threaten Rhodes Island, Kal'tsit, as much as she had grown to like the lung, would stop her, all Kal'tsit could do for now was wait...
