A vehicle was racing through the countryside of Ursus at breakneck speed, and the current driver and passengers of the vehicle knew time was running short to reach their destination.
The people in the vehicle had been moving non-stop for the past few days. W and Yua were constantly switching places as driver when the other got tired, neither was in the mood to wait around.
They had to reach the tundra of Ursus before Nine and Reunion did. W did have people who were also on their way to the tundra of Ursus, however with what little time they had, the sarkaz didn't have time to coordinate everyone together, so currently it was just her, Yua, and Shirayuki.
W hoped that either her group or the people who promised to help her found Talulah before Nine and Reunion did...
"Yua! I'm switching out! You take over!" W ordered Yua. Yua didn't complain and took over driving while W rested.
The white-haired lung continued driving at the same speed the sarkaz drove before through the countryside, even knowing the countryside had potential dangers.
Both Yua and W knew it was the fastest way to get to the Tundra. Trying to reach the Tundra by road would have taken too much time.
Time that Talulah didn't have...
"Don't worry, Aunt Talulah, we're coming to rescue you." The lung told herself. While Yua understood what her aunt ordered as the former leader of Reunion and the atrocities the organization committed, she couldn't let her die.
Yua was doing this for her mother's sake, not her own. The white-haired lung didn't want Ch'en to lose her sister again.
Unbeknownst to Yua and W, they were being followed by Kal'tsit and over a dozen elite operators from Rhodes Island who were currently following them in a convoy of vehicles several miles away behind them.
Kal'tsit had ordered Closure to install tracking devices on every Rhodes Island vehicle when she found out what she did regarding Yua and Talulah.
Closure had come along with Kal'tsit to operate the tracking system so they wouldn't lose sight of them.
The ancient feline knew it could potentially be disastrous if they lost the pair. Blaze, an elite operator of Rhodes Island, was currently driving the vehicle Kal'tsit and Closure were in. "What hasn't Kal'tsit told us? She only said that we would be following Yua and W. Why are we going across Ursus? What's going on?" Blaze was thinking to herself while driving.
Kal'tsit had told her and the other operators that they would be following Yua and W but the ancient feline didn't explain why, she also didn't explain why this had to be kept secret from the doctor of all people.
Whatever was going on, Blaze had a feeling this was big...
While Blaze was driving, Kal'tsit and Closure were keeping an eye on W and Yua's vehicle, which they were tracking.
Closure wanted to ask Kal'tsit something, so she turned her head towards her. When the vampire saw the look on the ancient felines face, however, Closure realised that it probably wasn't a good idea.
Kal'tsit was incredibly stone-faced and didn't look to be in the mood to talk. "What's going on with Kal'tsit? What have Yua and W done to get her like this? And why all this secrecy? Surely, the doctor would want to know what's going on with his daughter." Closure, much like Blaze, didn't understand why this had to be kept from the doctor.
Kal'tsit was incredibly adamant about it...
The vampire just wanted answers on why they were doing what they were doing, but knew she wouldn't get them just yet. She just had to wait until all of this was over...
Kal'tsit wasn't taking her eyes off the tracked vehicle; the only thing on her mind was finally finding out the truth about Yua.
When Kal'tsit first met the lung, she found her suspicious. Even when she found out that she was the doctor's daughter, Kal'tsit knew the white-haired lung had more secrets to hide.
Despite that, the ancient feline believed that Yua, being the doctor's daughter, was the most shocking secret that the lung had, but she was proven wrong.
Yua also being Ch'en's daughter as well was even more shocking; how she could have been her daughter as well didn't make sense to Kal'tsit.
Yua, being the daughter of Ch'en also meant she was related to the former leader of Reunion, Talulah.
"Has Yua been a sleeper agent all this time and is finally looking to attack Rhodes Island? No, that can't be right. She has been in a perfect position to kill the doctor many times over. Yua has never looked like she has ever wanted to harm her father. She also has quite the bond with Amiya, and clearly, Amiya means a lot to her. Also, Yua has seemed to be more interested in the abyssal hunters and their affairs. Yua was more than happy to join Gladiia's team and fight the Church of the Deep alongside them. That looks to be her primary goal. So why has she decided to look for Talulah? And how can she be Ch'en's daughter as well as the doctor's? Why did she tell us a lie about who her mother was? Why, Yua? Why have you had to hide all of this from us? And what is your end goal in all of this, W? How did you find out this information about Yua?" Kal'tsit was still trying to put all of the pieces of this complicated puzzle together, but nothing was still making sense.
Kal'tsit knew there was only one way that she could get the truth, that was from Yua herself, and the ancient feline would do whatever it could to take to get that from the white-haired lung...
Back in Rhodes Island, the doctor was pacing about in his office. The man had been trying to find his daughter but just found out she had left with W of all people to head off somewhere.
The doctor had also tried to find Kal'tsit to ask if she knew anything about this, but she had also disappeared from Rhodes Island as well, along with quite a few elite operators and Closure as well.
This put the man on edge, he was incredibly worried for his daughters safety.
Even though he assigned Yua a bodyguard in Shirayuki, the doctor didn't like what was happening.
He had no idea where Yua and W had gone or Kal'tsit or why any of them had disappeared.
The doctor wanted to head off to find them but didn't know where to start. "What's going on, Yua? Where are you? And why have you disappeared Kal'tsit? What are you involved in? Does this involve Yua? Is Yua in danger? Is W behind this? What are you planning W? Are you planning to hurt Yua? I swear if anything happens to her and you are behind it W, I will do whatever it takes to see you pay!" The doctor internally promised himself.
If this was a plan of W to get revenge on him for whatever he did in the past, the doctor would not care. Yua meant more than Terra to him. He would do whatever it took to protect her or seek revenge on whoever harmed her, even if they were an operator of Rhodes Island.
While the doctor was dealing with his thoughts, someone approached him, which brought him back to the real world. Looking at who it was, the doctor could see the blue hair, which he recognized instantly. It was Ch'en.
Ch'en looked at the doctor and could see that he was clearly struggling with something, and the blue-haired lung knew what he was struggling with: the fact that Yua was missing. "Doctor, are you okay? Can I help in any way?" Ch'en asked the man.
The blue-haired lung knew that she couldn't do much right now, but she wanted to show the man who she opened her heart to that he wasn't alone; that there were people who cared about him and Yua.
The doctor could see that Ch'en was looking out for him, even though she couldn't do much right now, the man appreciated the gesture. This put a small smile on his face. "No thanks, Ch'en," the doctor politly said. "I'm grateful that you want to help, but there isn't much you can do right now. I'm just worried about Yua. Nobody knows anything about where she is or what she's doing. And the fact that Kal'tsit has also gone makes me even more worried." The doctor expressed his concerns to the lung.
Ch'en listened to what the doctor said. She couldn't imagine what the doctor was going through right now, and she hated seeing the man she had grown to love like this.
Ch'en thought of an idea. It was a bit bold, but she was certain it would help the doctor somehow. The lung walked up to the doctor and embraced him, which surprised him.
He was about to speak, but Ch'en beat him to it. "Doctor, I know that you're worried about Yua. I am, too. But, doctor, you don't have to go through this alone. I am here. Others are here. You are not alone. So however you feel now, you are more than welcome to share it with me from now on. And know you haven't let Yua down. You mean a lot to her. So please stop thinking like that. Sorry, doctor. If I'm not too good at this." Ch'en told the doctor while embracing him.
Hearing what the lung said to him put the doctor in better spirits, he then replied, "Thank you Ch'en, this means a lot to me. You truly are an amazing woman, I'm glad I met you." Ch'en simply smiled while still embracing the doctor.
The blue-haired lung meant every word that she had said to the doctor. He didn't have to deal with his burdens on his own. She would gladly share them with him.
The pair then separated and looked into the eyes of each other, feeling even more bolder than she did earlier Ch'en gently touched the doctors cheek. She then brought her lips slowly towards the doctors own and kissed him, At that moment, the two were lost in their own world.
Unknown to the pair, however, someone was watching them, and it was Skadi. Seeing the scene in front of her felt like deja vu. It was so similar to what she had seen in the memories of the other Skadi.
This caused the aegir to feel uncontrollable rage, the voice from before was screaming at her to kill the lung. Skadi, however, knew she had to wait. It wasn't the right time.
When the time was right, however, Skadi promised herself that Ch'en would be begging for death before she was done...
In an abandoned village in the tundra of Ursus, a lone figure was skulking about, looking around this abandoned village brought back so many memories for them, both good and bad.
Memories, however, came of a lost friend, a lost friend whom this person believed would have steered them away from the darkness that they allowed to swallow them. This person was a grey-haired draco, the sister of Ch'en, and the former leader of Reunion, Talulah.
The draco was remembering her lost friend Alina and how she was cruelly taken from her. Talulah believed that Alina would have helped guide her and many others to lead Reunion how it should have been, not what it had become...
Talulah was disgusted with what she had done and what she ordered her organisation to do. She ruined the lives of so many innocent people. The draco had let the machinations of a madman take over her mind and commit truly evil acts, but at least he was gone now so one else would suffer because of her.
"At least some justice has been done; all those involved in his plan are gone as well. I'm just tired of all the bloodshed. I'm tired of all the fighting. I'm just tired." is what the draco was thinking.
Talulah received some satisfaction from destroying all of the co-conspirators of Duke Kashchey and his plan for war, but now she was just tired.
The draco now just wanted peace. She knew, however, that she couldn't return to a normal life. She couldn't return to a life with her sister, Ch'en, in Lungman.
Ch'en probably saw her as an enemy now, so Talulah couldn't be reunited with her. The draco decided to accept her fate and live in this abandoned village in seclusion, far away from where anyone could find her, where she couldn't be responsible for hurting anyone else.
Talulah's plan for seclusion would soon be interrupted, as the draco heard what sounded like a vehicle getting closer to where she was.
Looking in the direction where she could hear the sound coming from, Talulah confirmed it was a vehicle, and it was heading towards her location at high speed. "Who is that? Why are they here? Are they looking for me?" The vehicle approaching her location made the draco incredibly suspicious of it occupants.
She drew her sword from its sheath and was ready to use her originium arts to destroy it. However, Talulah stopped when she recognized one of the occupants of the vehicle. "W! What is she doing here?! I thought she had returned to Rhodes Island! How did she find me?!" Seeing one of her old comrades out here shocked Talulah.
When the vehicle stopped not too far from Talulah; W, Yua, and Shirayuki all got out and approached the draco. W and Talulah looked at each other for some time without speaking.
Yua didn't know what to expect, what would happen between the two of them. The silence between them was making the white-haired lung nervous.
W broke the silence after some time, "Nice to see you are okay Talulah, been a while.", the Sarkaz said. Talulah wasn't in the mood for any small talk, "What are you doing here, W?" Talulah then turned to Yua and Shirayuki standing next to W, "And who are these people? I recognise the Rhodes Island symbol on that girl's uniform. Are you here to take me in?" Talulah asked her friend.
W shook her head at Talulah's question, "No, Talulah, we aren't here to bring you into Rhodes Island. We are here to help." The draco raised an eyebrow at what W said to her.
The draco didn't understand what her old comrade meant by that. W could see that the draco didn't understand, so she decided to clarify what she meant, "I'm going to get straight to the point. I'm sure you remember Nine, who took over Reunion. Well, she took Reunion to Victoria to cause trouble not too long ago, but Rhodes Island defeated them again. This has caused dissent in the ranks. Many in Reunion want you to return as the leader. Nine isn't happy with all the dissent, so to stop it, she is looking for you. Talulah, she wants to kill you. She believes that if she accomplishes that, it would stop any more trouble, and she will have complete control."
Talulah wasn't happy with this. She didn't care what Nine or Reunion did anymore. She just wanted peace, "Damn Nine! Is that how desperate she is for control?! That she needs to kill me for it! If she can't keep Reunion under her control, that's on her!" the draco bitterly thought to herself.
Now, knowing why W was here, Talulah knew she needed all the help she could get. Even though powerful as she was, she knew she wasn't foolish enough to think she could take on Nine and the whole of Reunion herself.
The draco then spoke, "Very well, W. I'll take whatever help I can get. If she's looking for me, I know she'll find me soon. Are there others helping you?" W replied, "There are others who are willing to help. They're searching all across Ursus right now. I hope they find us here before Nine. For now, it's just us." Talulah nodded at W's answer.
Talulah then turned to Yua again and decided to address her, "Well, if I'm going to be working with other people, it's best I know their names. As you probably already know, my name is Talulah. Former leader of Reunion. What are your names?" Yua, who had been quiet, finally spoke, "My name is Yua. And this is my bodyguard, Shirayuki. A pleasure to be working with you." Yua told her aunt.
Yua held out her hand so the draco could shake it. Talulah reached out her own hand and shook the lungs hand. While Talulah was up close to Yua, she thought to herself, "What's with this girl? Why does she want to help me? And why does she look familiar? It's like I've seen her somewhere before, but I can't remember where." Talulah couldn't understand what was so familiar about this lung, but decided that wasn't the most important issue at the moment.
She had to get ready to face Nine and Reunion. No doubt they would be here soon if they were looking for her.
After the shaking of hands, Talulah went towards W, and the two walked off. No doubt they were going to prepare a plan to fight against Nine.
When Yua was alone, she knew this was a chance to save her aunt, "Don't worry, Aunt Talulah. I'll do whatever it takes to protect you. Mother isn't going to lose you again. I swear it." Yua believed this was her only chance to save her aunt from her grim future, and she would do whatever it took to prevent that from happening.
Ch'en would definitely thank her for it one day...
