The three of them stayed in the hug for quite some time. The only noises heard were the occasional sobs coming from Yua. The lung was just relieved that she finally told the truth to her mother and father, no longer did she have to keep them in the dark about who she truly was. The three of them eventually separated, and Yua wiped her eyes. Ch'en was then the first to speak, "Are you feeling okay now, Yua? Do you need more time?" Yua shook her head and replied, "No, mother. I think I'm fine now." Yua, on reflex, called Ch'en, Mother.
The lung immediately tried to apologize, but Ch'en didn't look upset; instead she looked happy. "No, Yua, you don't have to apologize. I'm happy you called me 'mother'. It's just strange hearing it for the first time." Relieved that Ch'en wasn't offended, Yua relaxed. Seeing his daughter was now in much more control of her emotions, the doctor felt it was an appropriate time to begin asking Yua questions. The doctor knew he had to be delicate with how he asked them. The last thing he wanted was for Yua to break down in tears again.
"Yua, while I am thankful that you have finally told us who you really are, I have a lot of questions for you. First of all, why are you back here in the past? What caused you to come back here?" The doctor asked the white-haired lung. Yua didn't want to have to tell her story again. But, she had already told Kal'tsit and her aunt before she returned to Rhodes Island, so it wouldn't have been fair to not tell her own mother and father.
With a sigh, Yua began to tell why she came back into the past again, "The reason I've come back to the past is because the future is ruined, the seaborn have destroyed Terra. Doctor Kal'tsit and you, mother, are the one's who sent me back to prevent it from happening again. I came back through a time machine." This intrigued both of her parents. They now knew why and how she came back. But it was Ch'en and Kal'tsit who were the ones who sent her back.
This got the doctor curious: Why didn't Yua mention him. The man had to know, "Yua, you say it was your mother and Kal'tsit are the ones who sent you back. Why didn't I? Was I occupied fighting the seaborn?" Yua simply shook her head, "No father, you had disappeared years before I was sent back. Me and mother never found out why you disappeared." His daughter's explanation hit the doctor hard. The man couldn't believe he wasn't there for his family in the future when they needed him most, "Why did the future me disappear? Please don't tell me I did abandon them. Or did I die? What happened? Why wasn't I there?!"
Yua could see her father struggling with this news. The lung could tell he was dealing with very negative thoughts. Yua tried to dispel what negativity her father was feeling, "Father, whatever you are thinking, let me tell you this, you cared for me and mother. We meant more to you than Terra itself. The only person you cared as much for as us was Amiya. I know you would never have abandoned us. Me and mother believed that you died. So please, don't hate yourself, father." This improved the doctors mood. The way Yua spoke, the lung was earnest about what she said. This meant Yua, Ch'en, and Amiya were the most important things in his life.
Ch'en felt warm knowing that the person who she had a family with in the future meant so much to the man. The blue-haired lung then had a question for her daughter, "Yua, what happened after your father vanished? Who took control of Rhodes Island?" Yua responded to her mother, "You, Amiya, Doctor Kal'tsit, and Silverash are the one's who took control of Rhodes Island, mother. Silverash died a few years later, so in the end, it was just you three. You did what you could to help who you could. If it wasn't for you three, Terra would have fallen much sooner than it did."
Ch'en felt proud of her future self, even though the situation was bleak, the future Ch'en tried to help as many people as she could. A strong sense of justice remained with her, one that she imagined Yua had imprinted on her as well. The blue-haired lung wanted to know what her future self was like as a parent, so she decided to ask her daughter, "Yua, how was I as a parent? I want your honest answer." Ch'en didn't know what her daughter would say, but she hoped it was positive.
The look on Yua's face, however, told the blue-haired lung that it wasn't going to be pleasant what she would tell her. Yua sighed before answering her mother's question, "I'm going to tell you the truth, mother. There was a point in life where we were happy. But father disappeared, then you lost your sister, Talulah. She was executed by your uncle and my grand-uncle. Those events changed you. Several years later, I discovered my originium arts, which I didn't know at the time, but they were potentially fatal for me to use. I imagine you knew, but you never gave me an explanation; you only ordered me never to use them again. From that moment on, you tried to control every aspect of my life. I couldn't do anything without your say-so or you knowing about it or being there."
Yua took a pause to look at her mother's face. She could see the blue-haired lung was upset with what she was being told. The younger lung asked if she wanted her to carry on. Ch'en slowly nodded her head. She had to know the truth even if she didn't like it. "I will admit at times it was unbearable. I began to defy you. We butted heads many times, and the more I tried to resist, the more you tried to control me. But with everything I know now, I understand why you did what you did. You had already lost so much, I was all you had left in Terra. You were scared of losing me. However, you eventually told me about the time machine being built, I know deep down you didn't want to send me back in time, but you didn't want that future to happen again, I can see it was also your way of protecting me and making sure I got to have a future. Mother, what I want to say is, I'm sorry...and thank you for everything."
Ch'en took in everything her daughter said. The blue-haired lung didn't like what her future self did, but like Yua, she understood why she did it. "Yua was probably all future me had. With all she had already lost, I could imagine why she had such a grip on Yua's life. To think, she had already lost her husband and sister, and knowing that if Yua used her originium arts, she could kill herself. I do need to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't use them, but I'm not going to try to control her life. At least Yua doesn't resent the future me anymore." Ch'en thought to herself, she promised herself she wouldn't make the same mistakes the alternate version of herself made. Yua already had to deal with enough of it.
Yua then realised she had to tell her parents something else. It was regarding her aunt, Talulah. "Mother, father, I need to let you know something. The reason I've told you the truth is because someone convinced me to do it, it was Aunt Talulah, that's why I have been away." Both Ch'en and the doctor had a look of shock on their faces when they heard this. They wondered why Yua went missing. Now they knew why. The doctor was first to speak, and he wasn't happy with his daughter, "Yua! What were you thinking?! You know that she is the former leader of Reunion! Many people have died because of her! And you thought to meet her! Are you completely insane?!" the doctor shouted at Yua.
The white-haired lung responded in kind, Yua believed what she did was right, "I know who she is, father! I know what she has done! But I didn't want Mother to lose her again! Mother may not admit it, but she still cares about her! I saw what it did to her! I know you don't like what I've done, but I believe it to be right! If me and W didn't do anything, she would have died! I'm sorry, Father, but I stand by what I've done!" Yua wasn't going to back down on this. Even if her father didn't like what she did, Yua knew that Talulah still meant so much to her mother.
The doctor had another realization, "That's why Kal'tsit left as well! She knew about this! She didn't tell me! Why Kal'tsit!" The doctor turned to the ancient feline who had been quiet this whole time and spoke to her, "Why did you hide this from me, Kal'tsit?! You should have told me what Yua and W were planning to do!" Kal'tsit looked at the man and calmly replied, "If I told you, you would have stopped her and W. I had my reasons for it. I found out who Yua was related to, and I needed to confirm if she was an enemy of Rhodes Island." Kal'tsit then turned to the lung, "Yua, I'm sorry for suspecting you, but I needed to be certain of your goals. I hope you understand why I had to do this." Yua nodded at Kal'tsit; while the lung didn't like what the ancient feline did, Yua could understand why Kal'tsit did it.
After all was said the room went into silence, everything that had been told today was so much to take in. Kal'tsit had found out more things that Yua didn't tell her on the way back from Ursus. The lung did tell her parents about the seaborn but thankfully didn't mention Ishar-Mla. The ancient feline knew she had to prevent the doctor from finding out about the seaborn god, for Yua's sake. If the man found out the connection between Ishar-Mla and Skadi, it would be a disaster.
Kal'tsit needed to speak Gladiia as soon as possible to inform her of the situation...
When Kal'tsit left the doctor and Yua continued talking about what happened in Ursus and about Talulah, the man was still unhappy with what his daughter did, but Yua kept telling him she stood by her decision to help her aunt. Ch'en was barely listening; the blue-haired woman had something else on her mind and it involved a certain sarkaz. "W, so she was involved in this. I'm thankful that Yua and W helped my sister, but I can't forgive her for what she's done to Yua! And the doctor, she hates him! I'm not going to let her hurt the man I love! W! It's time to answer for what you've done!"
Ch'en was determined to get revenge on W, the sarkaz had caused enough trouble. The blue-haired lung didn't plan on killing her, but she wanted to teach her a lesson and keep her away from the family she would have in the future and the daughter she had right now.
Ch'en began to leave the room, drawing the attention of the doctor and Yua. "Mother? Where are you going?" Yua asked. The white-haired lung didn't get a reply and this worried the pair of them. Whatever Ch'en was going to do wasn't going to be good. The two followed her and tried to stop her from doing what she was going to do, but Ch'en wasn't interested. She was hell-bent on finding W...
In the cafeteria W was sitting alone. Many operators were around but none of them wanted to interact with the sarkaz. W was fine with this; a lot had happened that she needed to think about. She was glad herself and Yua managed to save Talulah, but when the lung told her that her aunt would be pursuing Nine on the journey back this got her worried again. "I hope Talulah doesn't get herself killed. I should have gone with her to keep her safe. And why didn't the people who said they would help come? Talulah would have died if Kal'tsit and the others didn't show up! I swear the next time I see them, they will get a piece of my mind!" The sarkaz was still angry at her associates for not showing up. They let her down. W would remind them the next time she saw them of this. They owed her a debt for this failure. Several voices drew the attention of W and everyone else in the cafeteria.
"Mother! Whatever you are going to do! Don't do this!" Yua was pleading with Ch'en to stop what she was going to do. Ch'en was ignoring her daughter, further behind them the doctor was doing the same but the blue-haired lung was also ignoring him as well. When Ch'en arrived at the cafeteria, she began searching for W. Once Ch'en locked eyes with the sarkaz, she called out to her, "W! Get here now! You and I have business to settle this instant!" Yua could tell what her mother was about to do, but this time Ch'en told her to stop, that this had to happen.
The white-haired lung realized that she wasn't going to stop her mother, so all she did was stand back and try to stop things from going too far. W decided to see what the lung wanted, she got up from where she was and walked over to her. Once W was in speaking distance, she was about to ask what Ch'en wanted, however she didn't get her first word out before the blue-haired lung punched her in the face.
Everybody saw what happened and were ready to react to split them up in case a fight broke out. W couldn't believe what had just happened; she was angry and ready to stand and pounce on the blue-haired lung. But Ch'en looked at W with a raging hot fire in her eyes and spoke to her in an equally fiery tone, "Listen here, W! I know who Yua is now! And I remember what you put her through! I also remember how much you hate the doctor! If you do anything to hurt them ever again, I swear I will do whatever it takes to make you pay! You *****!" Ch'en finished her threat by swearing in her native tongue at the sarkaz.
Yua knew what her mother called W and her eyes and mouth widened. While she couldn't speak her mother's language well, she understood perfectly well what Ch'en called the sarkaz.
W could tell Chen was all too willing to carry out her threat if she tried to hurt either the doctor or Yua again. Seeing the situation she was in, W simply got up and walked away, holding one side of her face. The lung had hit her hard. W still wanted revenge against the doctor someday, but with the situation now, she knew it would be nearly impossible.
The sarkaz knew that she wouldn't just have to deal with an enraged Chen, but also Yua and Amiya if she tried anything. Fighting against all of them would be too much to handle. With this in mind, W hoped that at least the doctor would meet his end on the battlefield or by accident, it was the best she could hope for right now...
Once the sarkaz left and the situation had calmed down, many operators walked up to Ch'en to find out what was going on. They all wondered why Ch'en just punched W. Yua could see what her mother was going to do next and nodded. It was best to let everyone know the truth. The doctor then arrived. He had walked past W who was holding her face, and wanted to know what happened. The man could see that the blue-haired lung was about to do something and decided to ask Yua.
Yua replied that she was going to let everyone know the truth and why she had just hit W. The doctor wanted to keep the truth between those who knew, but he knew he couldn't stop the blue-haired lung. Ch'en then decided to speak about what just happened.
"Everyone, I know what you just saw was a shock but it needed to be done. The reason I did that is because W had put Yua through a lot. I know you are all thinking why I would do that for her but I have my reasons. This may sound like a fantasy but this is the truth: Yua is a time traveller from the future...and she is my daughter. The daughter of myself and the doctor."
Many didn't believe her, but when the doctor handed her the locket from earlier and Ch'en showed it to everyone, the cafeteria went into complete meltdown...
It was late in the evening on Rhodes Island, the truth about Yua had spread quickly throughout the landship. Many tried asking her questions but the doctor and Ch'en intervened, a lot of information was to be kept between them and Amiya when they found her later in the day. In her office Kal'tsit knew that the news had spread, it would more than likely be the hottest topic for some time to come.
What Yua had told her left the ancient feline with many headaches, but also a glimmer of hope, hope to go back in time to save her deceased friend Theresa. Saving Theresa was her own goal now, Yua had told her that Mostima was a key component in that goal.
Laterano was Rhodes Island's next destination, Kal'tsit had to find the blue-haired sankta, it was critical she found her. Kal'tsit had also spoken to Gladiia and Amiya, each in private regarding the seaborn issue. They were a threat that needed to be stopped, the future Yua came from couldn't happen again. But Yua and the doctor couldn't discover the connection between Skadi and Ishar-Mla. Laterano and Iberia were heavily connected through their religion, so it was more than likely the church of the deep would be heavily active in the nation. The doctor would take a huge interest in the abyssal hunters and their battles with the cult, it was a dangerous situation.
Kal'tsit just hoped the truth wouldn't come to light, she had to think of a plan and fast, or her own goal would be in jeopardy...
