Yua found herself in a dark, empty void. "Hello! Can anyone hear me?" she cried out, but no reply came. Something about where she was made the hair on the lungs neck stand up; she could feel a very sinister presence nearby. She had to get away from here; she tried to run, but no matter which direction she took to find an escape route, all Yua could find was more darkness and emptiness. Yua was starting to feel dread; she could feel whatever sinister presence was here was getting closer. She looked around but found nothing that resembled a living being. But then she heard laughter from behind her.
When the lung turned around, she couldn't see anything, but the laughter continued. Yua was really starting to freak out. She immediately tried to draw her weapon in an attempt to threaten whatever it was that was doing this, but when she reached for it, the white-haired lung noticed it wasn't there. Yua was defenceless. She expected whatever it was that was here would kill her any moment. She closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable to happen. She waited for what seemed like hours, but her death never came. Yua decided to take a chance and opened her eyes. When she did, the man saw a sight she never expected to see again. The laughter from earlier had also stopped.
"This can't be! It's the landship! But how?! How did I get here?!" The lung exclaimed out loud. Yua was looking at the Rhodes Island landship, but it wasn't the one she was currently travelling on. Just by looking at the damage and disrepair, Yua could tell this was the landship from her timeline. She was back in the future. The white-haired lung couldn't believe it, she tried rubbing her eyes several times to make sure it wasn't an illusion, that her mind wasn't playing tricks on her. After some time, Yua realised it wasn't an illusion. The landship that she grew up on was right here.
Yua was hesitant. She wanted to head into her former home. Yua couldn't feel the evil presence from earlier, but her instincts were screaming at her not to head into the damaged landship. It wasn't just because it was a trap, Yua could sense that her being here was definitely some sort of trap, but she was also scared of what she would find. Yua, however, had to know, she had to know the fates of those aboard Rhodes Island, know the fates of those that sacrificed themselves to give her the chance she had now. Ignoring her instincts that this was a trap, Yua gathered her resolve and walked up the entrance and into the damaged landship.
The first thing the lung noticed when she reached the entrance was the damage and remains that littered the place. Yua could see the remains of weapons on the floor, the damage from battle everywhere, the remains of seaborn that had long since decayed, and finally the remains of operators that were now nothing more than mere skeletons. This caused Yua immense sorrow. Many of these people she considered friends and family, and she couldn't bear the sight of seeing them like this. She could see the remains of Amiya, Swire, Hoshiguma, and so many others just by looking at them.
Yua felt none of them deserved such a terrible fate. They all deserved better than this. Yua wanted to bury all of them. She wanted to give them the respect they all truly earned. However the lung knew she had to push on, there were still people that she needed to find out their fates, with a heavy heart Yua reluctantly pushed on further and higher in the landship, leaving the remains of everyone around her in their resting place.
As Yua travelled through the landship, she came across more signs of battle and more remains of both seaborn and operators, but she carried on. Yua carried on until she came to a room that she knew very well. It was hers and her mother's shared room. Looking at the door, the lung was flooded with many memories, both good and bad. She opened the door and was immediately hit by a small cloud of dust. When the dust cleared, Yua looked around the room, "It hasn't changed. Everything is still the same. I'm glad those monsters never came in here. They would have destroyed everything." Yua spoke to herself. The lung could see that the room hadn't been touched by the seaborn. Everything was exactly the way it was the day the seaborn had found Rhodes Island and Yua escaped to the past.
Being here brought a sense of comfort for Yua. She felt at peace here. The lung could remember the times she had with her mother in this room both good and bad, she remembered the times they laughed, the times they cried, the times they were angry with each other, and the times they completely ignored each other. This room was full of so many memories. Wanting to preserve these memories, Yua decided to leave this room and head up further in the landship to look for the answers she wanted.
More signs of battle, more dead, the white-haired lung kept finding more and more as she kept walking through the landship. The more dead she found, the more she began to lose hope, but Yua wanted to keep the belief that some people were still alive. However, with the number of dead operators she kept finding the logical side of her mind was telling her that everyone she knew was dead, hoping to find anyone alive was pointless. But the lung wasn't going to give up. She would only give up hope if she saw who she was looking for was dead with her own two eyes.
After searching around the whole landship, Yua eventually arrived at the Rhodes Island control centre. She felt hesitant about stepping inside, Yua was terrified of what she would find in there. But Yua had to know, gathering her courage, the lung stepped inside to see what she could find. Once inside the control room, Yua looked around. She could find much except that the door to the second room to the time machine had been destroyed. Yua ran over to the next room. What she found was a scene of complete carnage.
The lung could see the remains of many seaborn, the time machine completely destroyed, and people who she knew. She could see Kal'tsit, Shirayuki, Mostima, and finally Closure. Yua went to teach skeleton individually and could notice horrible breakages on each of them. The seaborn had been incredibly savage with the people here. However, the white-haired lung could notice one person wasn't among the dead here, "Where's mother? Did she escape? Is she still alive?" she wondered. Not seeing her mother's remains filled the lung with a small glimmer of hope, as much as Yua was devastated by seeing all these people had passed, she hoped at least one person made it out of this tragedy alive bar herself.
There was one more place for Yua to search, the roof and balconies at the top of Rhodes Island. The lung could see a set of stairs leading to a balcony. Yua gave her thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for her and then headed up the stairs to the balcony to see what she could find. Yua took her time to walk up the stairs. She wanted to brace herself for whatever she saw up there. Once the white-haired lung arrived at the stairs, she saw a scene of complete and utter destruction. The surrounding area of the balcony had been completely obliterated, and the seaborn up here had suffered incredible damage. In the midst of this destruction, however, Yua could notice a red sword on the ground, her mothers sword.
Next to this sword was a skeleton, a skeleton that she knew all two well. It was the skeleton of the person who brought Yua into this world.
It was Ch'en...
"Mother!" Yua shouted at the top of her lungs as she ran towards her mother's skeleton. Once next to her, Yua could see a huge hole in the ribcage. Ch'en had been stabbed right in the chest. Yua didn't want to believe this was her mother. She wanted to deny it. She was hoping Ch'en had escaped. But these remains were the undeniable proof that Ch'en was dead. Yua was on her knees she was crying and screaming at the heavens, she was cursing the seaborn for all the pain and suffering they had caused, the white-haired lung was promising vengeance for everything they had ever done. Yua kept crying and kept weeping. The pain of seeing her mother dead was too much for her to bear. However, the sound of laughter from earlier had returned, and it was right behind her.
Turning around to face who or what was laughing, the lung could see an individual dressed all in red, but she could not see their face. "Who are you?! Did you do this?! Answer me!" the lung demanded from the individual. Yua was in no mood for anything other than the truth. Her sorrow had been replaced by unimaginable anger. If this individual was responsible for her mother's death, Yua promised she bring hell to this person. The person then stopped laughing and then replied to the lungs demand, "Yes I did, and I don't regret it. My only regret is that I didn't get to kill her many times over. She stole what was rightfully mine. She took who I most cared about from me. And you, her disgusting spawn, you are an obstacle to my path, I won't lose him again. I won't lose the doctor again. If it means I have to kill you and your mother a second time, I will gladly do it. Neither of you will stop me." The individual calmly stated to the white-haired lung.
Yua was beyond enraged hearing the confession of whoever it was before her. The lung wanted to kill them. Taking the sword by her mother's remains, Yua got to her feet and then charged at this person in a complete frenzy. With a bloodthirsty battle cry, Yua swung the blade with all her strength, intending to cut this being in half. However, when the sword connected, the individual disappeared, and Yua found herself somewhere else.
Everything around Yua had changed. No longer was she at Rhodes Island. The lung now found herself at the orphanage in ursus, surrounded by the bloody bodies of many children. This caused the anger she had to dissipate, Yua was now feeling fear and dread. Yua curled up into a ball. She wanted all of this to end. She wanted to be back home. While in her distressed state, Yua could hear a voice, "I know all your weaknesses, Yua. I know all about you, where you are from, and what you intend. You have no hope of stopping me from getting what I want, what is mine. But by all means, try, it will all be in vain. But do not worry, you will get to be reunited with your mother soon." The voice proclaimed.
The laughter then returned, and it was louder than ever. It was getting too much. Yua was beyond panicking at this point, the sight of the dead ursus children around her and the sound of the ever increasing laughter was driving the white-haired lung to madness, this made Yua scream at the top of her lungs in a horrifying fashion, A white light then hit Yua and everything went silent...
When Yua woke up, she was screaming, and in a wild frenzy, voices were heard all around her, but the lung wasn't coherent enough to understand them. She was thrashing about everywhere. This caused several people to try to restrain her but with no effect. The voices spoke again, and more people then arrived to restrain the white-haired lung. She was a completely wild beast. Eventually, with great effort, Yua had managed to be restrained. However, she was still screaming and thrashing about as much as she could. Yua eventually began to calm down and was becoming more aware of where she was.
"Yua! Stop this right now! Nothing is going to hurt you! Nobody is dead! You're safe now! So please! Stop!" the person in front of her said. When Yua was sufficiently stable, she could see who it was it front of her. It was her mother Ch'en, and she was sporting a bruised eye. Looking behind her mother, the white-haired lung could see her father, Amiya, Swire, Hoshiguma, and several other operators as well, each sporting a look of shock or horror on their faces. Yua could also see the room that they were in was completely destroyed, no doubt by her.
Yua was calming down more, she was realising she did all of this, she hurt her mother, she had wrecked this room, and she was the reason everyone looked scared, it was all because of her. Seeing Yua calming down Ch'en spoke, "It's okay now, Gavial. I think you can let her go." The blue-haired lung spoke to the archosauria currently restraining Yua. Gavial wasn't convinced, "Are you sure Ch'en? If she goes berserk again it's on you to stop her. I'm not taking another punch to the stomach." She replied while panting.
Yua, during her frenzy, had managed to hit Gavial in the stomach and wind her. The white-haired lung hit her with a surprising amount of force. The archosauria was thankful she was wearing body armour. Gavial knew Yua would have broken one or several of her ribs if she wasn't. Ch'en could understand the reluctance of Gavial but reassured her that Yua was more lucid now. Before she released her, Gavial warned everyone to get ready in case Yua snapped again. They all nodded to understand, Gavial then let go of Yua.
Every operator was immediately on their guard when the lung was free. They expected her to go ballistic again. However, after several minutes, Yua just stood there completely still looking at the floor. Ch'en then decided to try to find out what was wrong with her daughter, she put a hand on her shoulder but once Yua felt the contact she recoiled, she then started shouting telling everyone to go away. Nobody knew what was going on. It was strange and frightening to see Yua like this. Seeing that Yua wasn't an immediate threat, the doctor told Ch'en to come with him outside the room. He also told everyone else to keep an eye on his daughter.
Once outside, the doctor began to speak to Ch'en, "How's your eye Ch'en?" he asked. The blue-haired lung replied, "It's fine doctor, I've taken worse than this. I'm more worried about Yua. What on Terra has caused her to act like this?" This worried the doctor as well. He never expected his daughter to ever do something like this. The only reason he could explain for it was because of the panic attack Yua had earlier. Ch'en and several others had brought Yua back to the landship.
When he heard she was back at Rhodes Island, he immediately made his way back to the landship as quickly as he could. That is when he found out about Yua's panic attack. "That dead child must have brought back some memories for Yua. I bet she has some form of PTSD. She needs help, me and Ch'en need to help her. I will make sure she sees a professional, I'm also taking her off operations for the time being. She can't afford to have an episode like this in the field. She will only get herself or someone else killed." The doctor thought. With his plan thought out, he began to discuss his idea with the blue-haired lung, and he would also have to discuss it with Kal'tsit. That was not a conversation he was looking forward to...
Back in her room, the future Skadi was proud of what she had done to Yua. If she couldn't kill her at this present moment, the next best thing to do was break her. The future Skadi wanted the lung to truly suffer, showing her the future Rhodes Island and the memory of the orphanage incident would have surely done that. If not Skadi had many other ways to break her. Skadi hoped that with enough trauma, Yua would destroy herself. That would make her goal much easier with Yua out of the way. Losing Yua would also certainly break Ch'en and make the doctor incredibly vulnerable. It was a plan with nothing but positives.
The future Skadi then looked at the mirror and could see the present Skadi with a look of complete fear on her face. She was banging on the glass, trying to break free. Nobody but her could see or hear the present Skadi. She was powerless to stop her. The future Skadi smiled smirked at the present one, " Struggle all you want, nobody can help you. The doctor is mine, You understand?" she said to the mirror. The present Skadi could hear what she said. She was begging the future Skadi not to do this, to give her body back. She completely ignored her.
The future Skadi turned away from the mirror and began to think of her next step in her plan, "That deplorable Ch'en, she won't escape my wrath. She is going to suffer many times over for stealing the doctor. I promise you Ch'en, you will know hell." Skadi spat. She knew many of the blue-haired lungs weaknesses and was looking forward to using them against her...
