Episode 4: Team RWBY Group Podcast
The podcast opens with a serene view of Beacon's lush gardens, the sunlight filtering through the trees and casting soft golden light on a small clearing. A table with four microphones sits in the center, surrounded by the members of Team RWBY, each in their usual attire but visibly more relaxed. Birds chirp faintly in the background, and there's not a single breeze to disturb the calm.
Yang leans forward toward her microphone, grinning as the camera zooms in on her. "Welcome back to The Beacon Podcast! Today, we're coming to you from a brand-new location: Beacon's gardens! Shout-out to my teammate Blake for the suggestion—it's perfect out here. No wind, great lighting, and plenty of room for all of us. Speaking of which, I've got the whole gang with me today! Give it up for Ruby, Weiss, and Blake!"
The camera pans to the rest of the team. Ruby waves enthusiastically, Weiss offers a polite nod, and Blake sits quietly, her hands folded, with a small smile on her face.
Yang continues, leaning back and gesturing grandly. "That's right, folks! It's our first full Team RWBY podcast episode. We're here to answer questions, talk about your comments, and—let's be real—probably embarrass each other at some point. Let's start with the feedback you've all been getting from your episodes."
Ruby perks up immediately, her grin wide. "Oh! I've gotten so many nice comments! People said they loved hearing about our childhood and how I talked about following your dreams. Someone even said I was 'inspiring,' which feels kinda weird but also really cool."
Weiss smirks faintly. "It's nice to see you getting recognition, Ruby. Though I noticed quite a few comments calling you 'chaotic' or saying your energy is… a bit much."
Ruby frowns, crossing her arms. "Hey! I'm not that chaotic!"
Yang snorts. "Rubes, I love you, but you totally are. But that's why people like you—you're authentic and full of energy."
Ruby huffs but smiles. "Fine, I'll take it as a compliment."
Yang turns to Weiss. "Alright, Ice Queen, your turn. What kind of feedback did you get?"
Weiss straightens, her tone instantly more formal. "Well, I received quite a few comments commending my goals and my determination to restore the Schnee name. Many people found it… inspiring."
Yang smirks. "And?"
Weiss sighs, her expression turning slightly sour. "And there were a number of unnecessary comments critiquing my tone, saying I was 'too serious' or 'too stiff.' Honestly, I don't see the issue with being articulate and professional."
Yang laughs. "Yeah, but it's a podcast, Weiss. People are here for the real you, not the PR version. And hey, you did get a lot of compliments too!"
Weiss crosses her arms but softens a little. "I suppose… though I still think some of the feedback was unwarranted."
Ruby grins mischievously. "Someone did call you 'cool,' Weiss. And not in the icy way!"
Weiss blinks, momentarily surprised. "…Well, I suppose that's acceptable."
Yang turns to Blake, grinning. "Alright, Blake, what about you? Any comments you want to share?"
Blake shrugs lightly, her smile small but genuine. "I didn't get as much feedback as Ruby or Weiss, but the comments I did see were… nice. A lot of people said they liked my perspective, and some appreciated that I talked about adapting to being part of a team. A few even said they admired my calm demeanor."
Yang grins mischievously. "Yeah, but let's not forget the comments about your book. People are dying to know what you were reading."
Blake's smile fades slightly, replaced with a deadpan expression. "And that's precisely why I'll never reveal the title."
Ruby laughs. "Aw, come on, Blake! You've got the whole mysterious vibe going. Everyone wants to know!"
Blake shakes her head, though her faint smirk betrays her amusement. "Let them wonder. It's more fun that way."
Yang chuckles, turning back to the group. "Alright, alright, let's get real here. Everyone got great feedback, even if Weiss had a few complaints about hers—"
"I did say I found some of it inspiring," Weiss cuts in, glaring playfully.
Yang grins, raising her hands in mock surrender. "Fair enough. But can we all just agree that this podcast has been awesome for letting everyone see different sides of us? I mean, come on, Ruby getting all motivational, Weiss being… Weiss, Blake being mysterious, and me being the most charming host ever?"
Ruby giggles. "Yeah, it's been pretty fun! I mean, I never thought I'd be doing a podcast with all of us, but it's cool seeing how everyone has something different to share."
Weiss nods thoughtfully. "I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. But it has been… refreshing to connect with people in a more personal way, even if it's unconventional."
Blake tilts her head, her tone soft. "It's been a good experience. I like that we're showing people who we are beyond just being Huntresses."
Yang leans back, grinning proudly. "See? That's the power of The Beacon Podcast, folks."
Team RWBY's Adventures Together
Yang leaned forward with a grin, gesturing at the group. "Alright, let's get real for a second. We've talked about our individual experiences, but what about our time together as a team? I mean, come on—Team RWBY has had some wild adventures."
Ruby's face lit up immediately. "Oh my gosh, yes! Living together, going on missions—it's been so much fun!"
Weiss raised an eyebrow. "Fun? I wouldn't always call it that. It's been… an experience."
Blake smirked. "That's one way to put it."
Yang laughed, pointing at Weiss. "Alright, Weiss, since you've got so much to say, why don't you kick this off? What's it been like for you, living with all of us?"
Weiss straightened in her seat, her tone shifting into mock indignation. "Chaotic. Completely chaotic. Between Ruby's clutter, Yang's noise, and Blake's habit of disappearing at the worst possible times, it's a miracle I've maintained my sanity."
Ruby gasped, holding a hand to her chest. "Hey! I'm not that bad!"
Weiss shot her a pointed look. "Ruby, you once turned our entire dorm into a cookie assembly line because you needed to bake twelve dozen for a single study group."
Yang burst out laughing. "Oh, I remember that! The kitchen smelled like sugar for days!"
Ruby pouted. "It was a perfectly reasonable amount of cookies!"
Blake chuckled softly, adding, "And then there was that time Yang tried to turn the dorm into a mini-gym with that punching bag setup."
Weiss groaned. "Yes. That. I'll never forget the day the ceiling tile collapsed because of it."
Yang shrugged, grinning. "Hey, I fixed it! Mostly."
Ruby perked up. "Oh! And remember that time we were on a mission in Mountain Glenn, and Blake accidentally triggered that old recording of a Spruce Willis movie?"
Blake sighed, rubbing her forehead. "That wasn't my fault. The recording device was ancient—it just… started playing on its own."
Yang's grin widened. "Yeah, but it wasn't just any movie. It was Spruce Willis in Grimm Hard! And suddenly, all the bad guys thought we were planning to storm their base like action heroes."
Ruby was giggling uncontrollably. "I still can't believe you managed to shut it off just in time! Otherwise, we would've totally ended up reenacting the whole movie."
Blake rolled her eyes, though her faint smile betrayed her amusement. "You're welcome, by the way. I'd rather not live through a Spruce Willis movie, thank you very much."
Yang leaned back, still laughing. "Come on, Blake, it would've been epic! You could've been the quiet, brooding sidekick, Ruby would be the hyper-energetic tech expert, Weiss would be the high-strung but brilliant strategist, and I'd obviously be the lead badass."
Weiss crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "If by 'lead badass' you mean 'reckless loose cannon,' then yes, that sounds accurate."
Yang gave her a mock salute. "I'll take it!"
Ruby wiped tears of laughter from her eyes. "Even though that didn't happen, it was still one of the funniest missions we've ever had. And honestly, I love how different we all are. It makes everything more fun."
Blake's smile softened. "That's true. We may drive each other crazy at times, but I wouldn't trade this team for anything."
Weiss nodded slowly, her voice unusually tender. "I agree. As much as I complain, being part of this team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life."
Yang grinned, looking around at her teammates. "See? That's the power of Team RWBY. We're messy, chaotic, and sometimes completely ridiculous, but we've got each other's backs through everything. Living together, fighting together, even stopping each other from getting roped into absurd situations—we make it work."
She leaned back, her grin widening. "See? That's the power of The Beacon Podcast, folks."
Favorite Beacon Moments and Vytal Festival Hype
"Alright, ladies," she said, her grin wide, "let's dive into some nostalgia. We've been at Beacon for a while now, so I want to know—what's been your favorite moment here so far? Don't overthink it, just whatever pops into your head. Ruby, you're up first."
Ruby's eyes lit up as she sat forward, her hands clasping the microphone. "Ooh, that's tough! There's been so much cool stuff! But if I had to pick… I think it'd be our first real mission together. You know, the one in Forever Fall with the giant Ursa?"
Weiss groaned softly, rolling her eyes. "You mean the one where Jaune nearly got himself killed because he refused to ask for help?"
Ruby nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, that one! I mean, it was scary at the time, but looking back, it was the first time we really worked together as a team. And we totally nailed it!"
Yang chuckled, leaning back in her chair. "I remember that. You took out the Ursa with that crazy mid-air scythe swing of yours. Pretty epic, Rubes."
Ruby beamed. "It was, wasn't it? Plus, it was the first time I really felt like a leader, you know? Like we could handle anything if we stuck together."
Weiss raised an eyebrow, her tone skeptical but not unkind. "And what about the part where you almost got stuck in a tree afterward?"
Ruby pouted. "Details, Weiss. Details."
The team laughed as Yang turned her attention to Blake. "Alright, Blake, what about you? What's been your favorite moment?"
Blake tilted her head thoughtfully, her golden eyes narrowing slightly. "Hmm… I think it would have to be the night of the Beacon dance."
Yang perked up, her grin widening. "Really? Didn't expect that from you, Miss Quiet and Mysterious."
Blake smirked faintly. "It wasn't the dance itself—it was the team coming together to convince me to go in the first place. I wasn't planning on attending, but you all wouldn't take no for an answer. I… appreciated that."
Ruby nodded quickly, a huge smile on her face. "See? I told you you'd have fun! And you looked amazing, by the way."
Blake chuckled softly. "Thank you. And yes, it turned out to be a good night. Even if Sun stepping on my feet repeatedly during our dance was less than ideal."
Yang snorted. "Classic Sun. Alright, Ice Queen, you're up. What's your favorite moment?"
Weiss shot her a look at the nickname but didn't argue. Instead, she straightened in her seat, her tone measured. "I'd have to say our first Initiation Day. It was chaotic and frustrating, but it was also the day I realized how important teamwork truly is. Partnering with Ruby wasn't what I expected—"
"Hey!" Ruby interjected with mock offense.
"—but it was exactly what I needed," Weiss finished, ignoring her. "It was the beginning of something I've come to value deeply. Despite how insufferable you all can be at times, I wouldn't trade this team for anything."
Yang grinned. "Aw, Weiss, that was almost sweet. Alright, my turn! My favorite moment?" She leaned back, her grin turning mischievous. "It's gotta be the food fight. Hands down."
The team groaned in unison, though Ruby was already giggling. "Of course you'd pick that."
Yang shrugged. "What can I say? It was epic. I mean, come on—we turned the cafeteria into a battlefield. Weiss charging with the serving cart, Ruby launching cupcakes from Crescent Rose, Blake going full ninja mode—it was legendary."
Blake sighed. "And messy."
Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'm still finding spaghetti in my boots."
Yang laughed. "Worth it!"
Once the laughter settled, Yang leaned forward again, her tone shifting slightly. "Alright, let's move on to something big. The Vytal Festival Tournament is coming up, and I know everyone's excited. So, what are you guys looking forward to most about it? And, more importantly, what should people expect from Team RWBY?"
Ruby's face lit up again as she practically bounced in her chair. "Oh man, I can't wait! It's going to be so cool to see teams from all over Remnant competing. And we get to show everyone what Team RWBY is made of! I'm super excited to try out some new Crescent Rose moves I've been practicing."
Weiss nodded, her tone more serious. "The tournament is an excellent opportunity to test our skills against other Huntsmen and Huntresses-in-training. I'm looking forward to the challenge—and to proving that we're among the best."
Yang smirked. "Spoken like a true champion, Weiss. What about you, Blake? Excited?"
Blake tilted her head, her smile faint. "I am. It'll be interesting to see how our teamwork holds up under the pressure of such a large audience. And I'm curious to observe the tactics of the other teams. There's a lot we can learn from them."
Yang nodded, her tone growing more confident. "Totally. And for everyone wondering what to expect from us? Let's just say we're bringing everything we've got. The other teams better watch out, because Team RWBY isn't holding back."
Ruby pumped her fist in the air. "Yeah! We're gonna be awesome!"
Weiss smirked. "As long as you don't get us disqualified with one of your… creative ideas."
Ruby pouted. "Come on, Weiss, I'm a great strategist!"
Blake chuckled softly. "We'll see."
Team RWBY's Team Attacks
As the upbeat music faded back in, Yang leaned forward again, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "Alright, folks, here's something we haven't talked about yet—our team attacks. Every Huntsman team has them, and they're always some of the most badass moves in a fight. But what makes ours extra fun is… the names. So, let's dive in. Ruby, you're the team leader—why don't you kick things off and tell everyone about how we came up with them?"
Ruby sat up straighter, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh, this is a good one! So, when we first started training as a team, we realized that we needed to coordinate better in fights. That's when the idea for team attacks came up. Naming them, though? That was all me!"
Weiss folded her arms, raising an eyebrow. "That explains a lot."
Ruby ignored her, grinning. "Okay, so one of my favorites is Ice Flower. That's our combo, Weiss, where you use Myrtenaster's Dust and I launch us in with Crescent Rose for a finishing attack."
Weiss nodded. "Yes, and while I find the name a bit… simplistic, the technique itself is highly effective. Your scythe provides the momentum, and my Dust creates a controlled blast radius. It's precision and power combined."
Yang leaned into her microphone, smirking. "Or as I like to call it: Ruby flings herself into danger, and Weiss cleans up the mess."
Ruby pouted. "Hey, it's strategic danger."
Blake tilted her head slightly, her tone calm but teasing. "It's also the attack that's landed you in the most trouble during training."
Ruby waved her hands dismissively. "Details! Anyway, another one we came up with is Burning Gold. That's my combo with Yang."
Yang grinned, flexing her arms. "Oh yeah, that's a good one. Basically, Ruby boosts my Ember Celica blasts with her crazy spinning moves, and we go full scorched earth on whatever's in front of us. The name? Total accident. I called it that during training because of the fire and the Crescent Rose sparkles, and it just stuck."
Ruby nodded enthusiastically. "It's flashy and powerful, just like you, Yang!"
Blake raised an eyebrow. "And just as reckless."
Yang laughed. "Guilty as charged. Alright, Blake, what about us? What's your favorite team attack we've done together?"
Blake's lips curved into a faint smile. "That would have to be Shadow Strike. It's simple but effective. I use my semblance to create clones for misdirection, while you use Ember Celica to focus fire on the confused enemies. The name came from you shouting it during practice, if I recall correctly."
Yang scratched the back of her head sheepishly. "Yeah, I tend to just yell cool stuff in the heat of the moment. Glad it stuck, though. It's one of my favorites, too. What about the rest of you? Got any combos you love?"
Ruby's hand shot up. "Oh! Frostbite!"
Weiss groaned softly. "Must you always bring that one up?"
Ruby giggled. "Of course! That's the one where Weiss freezes the ground, and I launch myself across it with Crescent Rose like I'm ice skating, slicing everything in my path. It's so fun!"
Weiss sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "It's only fun until you crash into a wall. Which has happened more times than I care to count."
Ruby grinned sheepishly. "I'm working on it!"
Blake chuckled softly. "Then there's Blazing Shadows. That's our combo, Ruby. You fire me into the air with Crescent Rose, and I use Gambol Shroud to launch a chain attack from above. It's… surprisingly effective."
Ruby nodded. "Oh yeah, that one's awesome! The name just sounded cool, so I went with it."
Yang smirked. "Speaking of cool names, what about Snowstorm Fury? That one's Weiss and me. She creates a swirling snowstorm with her Dust, and I dive right in with Ember Celica to deliver rapid-fire punches. It's basically chaos in a blizzard."
Weiss adjusted her hair, her tone prim. "It's also one of the most difficult combos to execute properly. Your tendency to 'dive right in,' as you put it, has nearly disrupted the storm more than once."
Yang shrugged with a grin. "Hey, but when it works? Total game-changer."
Ruby clapped her hands together. "And we can't forget our full-team attack—Crimson Tempest."
Blake nodded, her tone serious. "That one's impressive. Ruby creates a wind vortex with Crescent Rose, Weiss adds Dust for elemental effects, I use Gambol Shroud to control its direction, and Yang finishes with a full-force blast from Ember Celica."
Weiss tapped her chin. "Yes, but it's highly situational. We can only pull it off when we have time to set it up properly."
Yang grinned. "Still, it's awesome. And the name? Totally badass."
Ruby beamed. "Right? I worked really hard on that one."
Weiss rolled her eyes but smiled faintly. "Of course you did."
The Future of Team RWBY
As the upbeat music faded, Yang leaned forward with a thoughtful expression, resting her elbows on the table. The garden's peaceful atmosphere seemed to mirror the slightly more serious tone she was about to take.
"Alright, guys, let's talk about something that's been on my mind. We've talked about our favorite moments, our team attacks, and all the crazy stuff we've done so far. But what about the future? Like, when we eventually graduate, do you think we'll stick together as a team of Huntresses, like so many other Beacon graduates? Or do you think we'll go our separate ways?"
Ruby immediately frowned, her silver eyes wide with concern. "Separate ways? Why would we do that? We're Team RWBY! I mean, we're already amazing together now. Imagine how awesome we'll be with even more experience!"
Weiss raised an eyebrow, her tone pragmatic. "Ruby, while it's a comforting thought, it's not as simple as just 'sticking together.' Once we graduate, we'll all have individual responsibilities and goals. Staying as a team would require aligning those goals."
Ruby's pout deepened, but she didn't argue.
Blake tilted her head thoughtfully, her golden eyes glimmering with quiet contemplation. "Weiss has a point, but… I don't think it's impossible. If we've learned anything here at Beacon, it's that we're stronger together. It would be difficult to go separate ways after everything we've been through."
Yang leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms with a smirk. "I'm with Ruby on this one. I can't imagine breaking up Team RWBY. Come on, we're like a family now. Besides, I don't think any of us would be able to go more than a week without some kind of crazy reunion anyway."
Weiss sighed but allowed a small smile to creep onto her face. "I'll admit, the idea of continuing as a team is… appealing. Working alongside all of you has taught me more than I ever thought possible. And there's something reassuring about knowing you're not facing the world alone."
Ruby's eyes lit up, her excitement bubbling over. "See? Weiss agrees! We have to stay together. Just think of all the good we could do as a team after graduation—helping people, protecting Remnant, and maybe even building an awesome reputation like some of the great Huntress teams before us!"
Blake smiled faintly, her tone gentle. "It would be nice to keep fighting for something meaningful. I've seen what we're capable of together, and I think we've only scratched the surface of our potential."
Yang nodded, her expression softening. "Exactly. We've already proven we can handle just about anything when we've got each other's backs. I don't see any reason why we couldn't keep that going after Beacon. Besides, let's be real—what would the world do without Team RWBY in it?"
Weiss chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Your confidence truly knows no bounds, Yang."
Yang grinned. "What can I say? I believe in us."
Ruby leaned forward, her voice more determined now. "I believe in us too. We've already come so far, and we've still got so much to learn. But when the time comes, I know we'll figure it out—together."
Blake's smile grew as she nodded in agreement. "Together."
Weiss sighed, her tone soft but resolute. "Together."
Yang's grin widened as she gestured dramatically. "Alright, then it's settled. Team RWBY is in it for the long haul, folks. You heard it here first!"
She leaned back with a proud smile, her voice taking on a playful lilt. "See? That's the power of The Beacon Podcast, folks. Dreams, plans, and the unshakable bond of Team RWBY—what more could you ask for?"
The screen faded to the podcast logo as the upbeat music returned, leaving the audience with a sense of hope and excitement for Team RWBY's future.
