Previously I do not own Molly of Denali, or any of the characters contained within this story. Molly of Denali is the property of Kathy Waugh and Dorothea Gillim.

I look forward to the reviews and criticisms (I know there will be some). I hope you enjoy the story, and just like the cartoon on PBS Kids, I am trying to stay true to the characters as shown each and every day. I am also including real elements like they've done on the show (racism, environmental, life, and death, etc..). I hope you like this when I start to repost the chapters.

Please review all of my stories. Feedback would give me ideas I can use for not only this story but for future ones. Thank you for your time and happy reading.

My story takes place in 2021 when Molly is twelve, Tooey is twelve and Trini is nine.

It Takes a Village to Get Back Home

Molly turned off the phone and looked at the display. She saw that the video had taken about seven minutes to produce and send. She also saw that thirty-two percent remained.

"Are we going to be able to send another video later on?" Tooey asked as Trini reached for more bread and muktuk. "I hope we'll be able to Tooey. Like I said, I have no idea who received them or if they were received in Qyah."

"I know the storm is playing havoc on the transmission. I still have a question I am not sure any of us can answer." Tooey asked looking from Molly to Trini and back again.

Molly looked from Tooey and Trini, and back again, "What's the question?"

"Are there going to be more storms coming and will our families be able to find us if another one comes?" He asked. "Why do you ask that Tooey?" Trini asked as she was eating.

"When I went above to look around, I saw that the snow had nearly filled the hole we fell into." Tooey stated. Molly and Trini both froze as Tooey finished. "I am concerned that when our family and friends come looking for us, they could pass us since they can't see us."

When he finished speaking, another thought instantly entered his mind. "Now that I am thinking about it, I am also worried they might roll right over us and fall into the hole as well." Tooey said, which caused the color to leave the faces of Trini and Molly as they looked at each other and then back to Tooey.

"Is there anything we can do to make us more visible to anyone that might be searching for us?" Molly asked desperately. "I have been looking at some of the stuff we picked up in Nenana. Nothing seems to stand out in the dark since the sun is not up until about nine or nine-thirty in the morning." Tooey pointed out as Trini continued chewing despite not taking a bite of her sandwich which was several inches from her mouth.

Tooey smiled slightly as he watched her chewing. Molly pushed the sandwich towards Trini's mouth and bumped her mouth. Startled, she looked down and realized she had not been eating the sandwich.

She looked around and saw them laughing at her, she joined them in laughing. "I know what Tooey was saying would surprise you Trini, I mean it surprised me too." Molly said. "I was not surprised, I was just not paying attention to the sandwich and missed when I took a bite." Trini lied.

"Trini since Tooey and I are your best friends, you do know that we can tell when you're not being truthful?" Molly smiled. "I was just testing to see if you guys were paying attention." Trini smiled taking a bite of her sandwich. Molly and Tooey looked from Trini as she was eating, to each other before bursting out in laughter again.

Molly's laughter didn't last long as she started thinking. "You said the hole is filling with snow right Tooey?"

"Yep, it is almost full now. Have you noticed that it is warmer in here since we're are so insulated here?" He asked. "I have been feeling warmer since we did the first video. Can I take off this parka?" Trini asked looking at Molly.

"Since the enclosure is keeping in the warmth, I don't see why not. However, whenever any of us leave the tent you may want to put it back on since the warmth would escape." Molly mentioned taking off her own parka.

Trini nodded, "I may need some help doing that since it still hurts when I breathe.," Trini said, as she gingerly removed the parka with Tooey's help.

Fairly quickly, she was sitting in her usual clothing. Molly was soon in her regular clothes as she removed most of the heavy winter clothes she wore.

Tooey watched as the girls removed their heavy outer clothing. He removed his parka but kept his jacket on. "I'll keep this on, since I'll be taking the dogs up again in a bit for their whenever time it is walk." Molly quickly looked at her phone noting the time and the percentage. "Right now, it's eight fifteen." Molly told them sighing.

Tooey noticed her change in demeanor. "What wrong, Molly?" Looking back down to the phone, she turned it to face them both. A moment later, they joined her in sighing. They all knew that the phone was very low on power.

Putting the phone away, a question entered her mind as she stowed the phone. "I didn't turn off the video. I wonder how much of what we had said was broadcast. When did the video turn off? Did anyone receive it? Molly thought as she rearranged the hides that had been covering them. She then stacked them alongside where they were sitting.

As the women were getting everything ready for their breakfast, the satellite phone rang. Nina retrieved the phone from the counter, "Nina speaking."

Layla and Atsaq waited as Nina was talking to someone either Dad or Walter. Since her attention was focused on Nina and the call, she was surprised when she smelled smoke. The smoke alarm scared them when it suddenly rang. "Ahhh!" They all screamed, jumping upon hearing the sudden sound of the smoke alarm.

"How many things are going to scare me today?" Layla laughed as she turned the alarm off, while Atsaq opened a window to air out the room.

The frigid air entered the room, but it was a lot better than breathing burnt butter and oil. Layla quickly cleaned the pan and started over again as Nina finished the call. Layla and Atsaq waited for Nina to enlighten them as to who called, and what they had to say.

"Nat says that they'll be riding out for a few more minutes and then they'll turn back if they hadn't found them. I am sorry Layla, that's the best Nat said they could hope for." Nina sighed putting the phone down onto the table.

Upon hearing the news, Layla looked towards Atsaq and for a split second saw her stoic expression break. She knew she was thinking about Tooey, just like she was thinking about Molly and Trini since Daniel was not there.

Layla finished pouring the batter into the pan and turned the burner to medium before turning to Atsaq. "Atsaq, I know that look, come here please." Layla asked her best friend.

Absentmindedly Atsaq stood and walked towards Layla. Before she could say a word she was engulfed in a hug that was very similar to the one Layla had received earlier when she realized she really needed one.

"No matter how much I try to remove myself from situations. There are many times I feel helpless." She cried as Layla held her.

"Atsaq, you're the one we come to when we need help. I have always wondered who you go to when you are hurting and need help?" Layla asked.

Wiping her eyes, "I usually can handle most things since they were not like what we've been going through the last few days with the kids." Atsaq gulped trying to regain her composure.

"I know I am not native here, nor have kids, but I miss them too. I also wish the kids were back home where they are safe and out of danger." Nina added walking over to Atsaq and Layla.

"Thanks for the sentiment Nina. I know the kids love you jus-" Layla, Atsaq and Nina jumped again as the alarm sounded again. Instinctively she looked towards the blackened disc that used to be a pancake smoldering in the pan.

"Do you have anything that prevents hearts from becoming weed eaters?" Layla asked shaking her head and moving to the stove.

"Yes, two remedies." Atsaq explained.

"What's the first one?" Layla asked as she removed the black hockey puck and gave it to Suki who didn't care that it was burnt.

"Remove the batteries from the detector." Atsaq said smiling. Walking over to the smoke detector, she opened the battery compartment and pulled the 9V battery out and placed it and the detector onto the side table by the stairs.

"What's the second." Nina asked as she picked up the batter and poured another pancake into the pan Layla had replaced onto the stove.

"Find the kids." Atsaq mentioned quickly.

"I am not sure that last one will work, because once I see the kids, my heart will go into overdrive in gratitude that they're back." Layla said as she sighed loudly.

"I would have to agree Atsaq." Nina concurred.

"True, very true." Atsaq quietly admitted sighing as well. Nina turned from the other women and looked at the pancake as it was cooking. Checking to make sure it was cooking properly she looked at how much batter remained. "Layla, you may have to make some more batter." She smiled. Layla saw how much was left and reached to the cupboard and placed the box of mix besides the stove.

They all smiled and looked towards Suki who seemed to be enjoying the mistakes they had been making while preparing breakfast.

The snow that covered the road and the surrounding forest made it hard to see the road. "That is the best for which we can hope. I'll call back when we are either turning back or find the kids. Bye Nina." Nat said as he closed the phone and sighed.

Walter was nearby and heard Nat's side of the conversation. "Is everything okay Nat?" Walter asked. "Nina told me that they received another video and Molly mentioned possibly digging out and trying to make the trip back home. With Trini's injury, I don't think that'll be a god idea."

"I don't think Molly would risk Trini getting hurt again. I understand their desire to be independent and resourceful, but this is a time for the adults to do our part and get them home safe and less injured than they already are." Walter mentioned.

From behind Nat, Daniel was listening to the whole conversation. "Are we even sure that we're on the right path to Nenana Nat?" Daniel asked looking around with a confused expression. "Everything around us looks the same. I can't even tell if we're even on a road." Daniel stated loudly for Nat to hear.

"According to the compass, Nenana is north of Qyah. We've been heading north for the last 20 minutes." Nat yelled for all to hear. "Walter, do you see any prints, tracks, markers or any indication we're even on the road?" Kenji asked looking at the flat snow surrounding them.

"No, I haven't but remember, we only have about another fifteen minutes worth of time before another blizzard is scheduled to hit central Alaska. We better head back. It'll take us longer than that to return to Qyah." Walter yelled for all to hear.

"I vote to return and wait until the storm passes and try again under better conditions. Layla mentioned the kids had to break open some of the supplies for the Co-op just to get food. I know they are being resourceful but to me, that was an act of desperation." Nat yelled.

"Lead the way Nat." Daniel yelled. As the group turned around and returned to Qyah. Watching the scenery passing Daniel observed that the landscape was as smooth as glass. He wondered how they were going to be able to find them in this tundra.

"Okay, we've eaten, now what do we do? All we can do is sleep but there is only so long I want to sleep." Trini mentioned with a pained voice.

"I know Trini, but we can't risk moving you, you said so yourself. I would never want to be the cause of you getting hurt worse than you already are. I would never forgive myself." Molly pleaded. "Okay, but what if I forgave you? Trini retorted.

Tooey listened as the girls bantered back and forth and waited for Molly's response. Noticing her demeanor, he wasn't surprised when she didn't respond. Instead, she just shook her head and hugged Trini before putting on her parka and leaving the warm enclosure.

"Tooey, us not leaving here is because of me right? This is all my fault." Trini cried as tears flooded her eyes. "Trini we said it yesterday, none of this is ever your fault. I was the one driving the dogs and should have anticipated something like this happening. You did nothing wrong." Tooey mentioned putting on his parka over the jacket he was still wearing.

Once bundled he left the makeshift tent. He herded the dogs and helped them up the stairs he had made earlier. He couldn't get the dogs out of the hole because Molly was busy tamping down the new snow and making more steps for them to use.

Molly continued tramping down the snow in the hole. "What are you doing Molly?" Tooey asked when he climbed out of the tent. Molly noticed he winced again as he was standing more upright after leaving the tent.

"You know I heard everything Trini just said." Molly asked still stomping on the snow that was not packed. "Considering she was almost yelling. I'd be surprised if you didn't hear her." Tooey said watching Molly working.

"Why are you packing the snow? I am curious as to why you're doing that." Tooey repeated. "I have been worried about what you had said earlier. I am trampling the snow, so it looks different from the surrounding snow that isn't packed." Molly grunted stopping for a rest. "I am afraid that any search party will either drive past us, or possibly fall into the hole hurting, maiming, or killing us just like you said could happen." Tooey gritted his teeth when he heard her saying that aloud.

The shocked expression on Tooey's face mirrored what Molly was thinking. "I don't want anything to happen to us. I hope you understand why I am doing this." Molly mentioned looking up at Tooey.

Tooey observed that as she was tamping the snow down that she reached up and moved her hair out of her eyes, and also pressed her hand to her head.

He again saw tears streaming from her eyes. He watched as she worked with fierce determination. Instinctively, he walked over and hugged Molly. She instantly stopped her feet and just waited for Tooey to release her. After a few seconds, she reached up and pulled him close. She then tapped his stomach, and he released her. Despite how they were dressed and the cold, their faces felt really warm as they released each other.

When he let her go, she looked up and saw that his tears were also flowing. She reached forward and hugged him again around the chest. "I wish this had never happened but now it's something we have to deal with. I am just making this up as I go since I have no idea what to do. This was all I could think of." Molly said releasing him and returning to trampling the snow.

"You know what, you have a good idea. I have an idea as well. When I am done with the dogs, can we return into the tent and make another video?" Molly stopped her stamping and gave Tooey a confused look.

"We don't have much battery power left. Why do you want to make another video?" Molly quizzically asked. "You remember when I told you that my father hardly ever cleans out the sled." Tooey asked smiling.

"Yeah, you told me about that in the beginning of winter when we went out a few times." Molly remembered smiling slightly. "Why?" She asked. "I just remembered that dad kept some road flares in the emergency bag and a GPS. I am not sure if the GPS would work since it might need newer batteries, but the flares should work." Tooey mentioned.

"How long would they work?" Molly asked starting to climb back down the hole to tell Trini their plan. "I have absolutely no idea. I've never used them before. I know how to light them but that is all I know." Tooey stated leading the dogs up while Molly was going down. Tooey watching her descent watched as she was smiling as she was going back into the tent.

Once back in the tent Molly relayed everything Tooey had told her. When she finished telling Trini, they waited for him to return from walking the dogs. A while later, the heard the dogs before Tooey brought them back down and had them attached to the tent peg and were bedded for the night.

The girls waited for him to sit before speaking. Molly watched as he winced again when he had to bend down to enter the tent. Once Tooey and Trini were comfortable she started asking several questions.

"First, I have to find out how long they'll last before I make the video. Then, I have to make a call and find out where we're being received. Lastly we have to make the video. I hope the phone lasts that long, I only had thirty-two percent earlier." Molly groaned as she pulled out the phone and saw she was down to twenty-one percent.

"Oh boy, this is going to be close." Molly groaned again looking at her phone.

Layla, Atsaq and Nina were cleaning up the dishes from their breakfast when the phone rang. They all looked at the satellite phone, but it wasn't ringing. Layla rushed to the Trading Post phone. "Denali Trading Post, Layla speaking."

"Hello Layla, this is Henry, the tribal chief of Nenana. I have been trying to get hold of Midge, but she didn't answer her phone. Could you have her give me a call when she is available?"

"Sure thing, Mr. Henry, I'll let her know you called. Mahsi'cho, bye." Layla replied as she ended the call and hung up the phone.

Layla returned to the upstairs home section of the trading post. "Who was that Layla?" Nina asked placing the last dish into the drainer and drying her hands. "Henry from Nenana, calling for Auntie Midge, she didn't answer her phone." She explained.

"I wonder why not. She's usually up right now. Give her a call right now." Suggested Atsaq. Layla walked over to the sink, "I was going to finish the dishes, but apparently someone beat me to it." She smiled watching Nina replacing the kitchen towel back onto the handle of the oven.

"Call her now. If a tribal chief is calling our tribal chief it must be important. Besides, we'll clean up, you make that call." Atsaq directed her. Smiling she walked back to the upstairs phone and dialed Auntie Midge's number. The phone rang about seven times before it was answered.

"Hello, Renata speaking."

"Hi, it's Layla, is Midge available?" She asked. "She is in the shower, I'll let mom know you called."

"Just let her know the tribal chief of Nenana called asking for her. She didn't answer the phone earlier." She explained.

"Oh, no problem, I'll pass it along. Thanks Layla. Bye." Renata hung up the phone, walked to the bathroom, and let her mother know about the call.

Ten minutes later she was in her robe dialing the phone and calling Henry back. "Hey Henry, What's up?"

"I just received another video." Henry began.

"Another video? I wonder if something happened that another video was needed so soon." Midge wondered aloud.

"From what I saw, this is something your village is definitely going to want to see. I'll send it right over. Good luck with this one Midge." Henry encouraged.

"Mahsi'cho, Henry." Midge hung up the phone and waited for the video to be sent over. Less than a minute later, she received the video in its usual form. She called Layla and waited for her to answer.

"Denali Trading Post, Layla speaking." Layla answered. "Get the girls together, another video from Henry." Auntie Midge informed.

"Give me a second." A moment later, Auntie Midge's computer chimed and the video from the Denali Trading Post came in. She saw Layla, Atsaq and Nina looking at the screen expectantly.

"Have you received any reports from the men?" Midge asked.

"Nothing since we relayed the weather report you had given us earlier." Layla responded.

"I guess no news is better than bad news." Midge stated. A few seconds later the video began.

"Okay, I researched how long each flare would last. About 20 minutes from the moment, you light it until the flare fizzles. We have four of them which means we can have them lit for about an hour and 20 minutes." Molly relayed to Trini and Tooey.

"We need to mention that in the video. We also have to set a time for this to happen so any search parties can find us during the "daytime" or nighttime." Tooey also said.

Trini listened to her friends planning for their rescue. She wished she could assist but her ribs and breathing would not allow her to help. She just sat there quietly thinking to herself. "I am useless here."

"Tooey did you notice any more storm clouds heading our way when you were last out of the hole?" Trini asked just wanting to be a part of their rescue.

"When I was last up there I wasn't looking at the sky. Besides, it's too dark right now to see very much. I would suspect there is another storm coming. We just don't know when." Tooey explained.

"Oh, okay. I was just wondering if you did." Trini asked quietly.

"You guys ready for the next video?" Molly asked. She then propped the phone up, looked at the screen, and adjusted the phone until everyone was in the picture.

"Ready guys?" Molly asked again. Trini and Tooey nodded, and she pushed the button to start the recording.

"Hey everyone, Molly here with Trini and Tooey coming to you from somewhere in Alaska between Nenana and Qyah." Each of the kids waved. Trini of course, waved briefly.

"The reason for this report is that Tooey remembered that his father had some flares. We currently have four of them." Tooey from his seat showed the four flares.

"We are going to be lighting the flares around dinner time and if there are any search parties in the area you should be able to see them." Molly said looking at the camera with a serious expression.

"The flares will only last for twenty minutes each. An hour and twenty is all the time we have to use them and hopefully be rescued. I am not sure how much battery life we'll have after this video. So, for now, we're going to try our best to make this effort count." Molly turned to the others.

"Mom and Dad I love and miss you and hope to see you soon." Tooey said.

"Dad I am sorry I got hurt and hope to be back home soon. Let mom and Four-spots, Dolores, and-" Trini stopped when she saw Molly shaking her head.

"Let everyone know I love and miss them." Trini concluded smiling.

"Mom, Dad, and Schada I love and miss you. Hope to be back there soon. If we have enough power and bars left. We'll send another video." Molly gulped and was about to say more when the video blanked out. "Did we lose power so soon? Trini asked quickly.

Molly looked at the phone and saw they had about fifteen percent power remaining. "It's not much but I hope we can send another one later."

"How much is left?" Tooey asked. "Fifteen percent." Molly answered glumly. "Okay, that should be enough to send another short one. I hope." Trini whispered.

Molly looked back at the phone and noticed the warning to plug the phone charger in. Taking a deep breath, she smiled and nodded to Trini as she pressed the button and turned off the phone.

Atsaq, Layla, and Nina were all stone-faced when the video suddenly ended. "Molly didn't end that video. They must have used the last of their battery power." Layla mentioned in general.

Atsaq and Nina just shook their heads and continued staring at the screen. A moment later the screen changed and showed Auntie Midge. "When is dinner time Layla. Molly said they'll be lighting them then." Midge asked. "Dinner is usually at about five or six in the evening." She said.

Atsaq piped in, "If that was the last of their power, how will they know when it's dinner time? Do any of them have a watch?" Midge asked. She blanched, noticing the worried face Atsaq had when she asked about the kids and watches.

Nina looked at Layla, she shrugged her shoulders. "I have never seen Molly wear a watch. She usually has either the phone or her computer. Does Tooey?"

Atsaq shook her head. "He hasn't worn one in quite a while. He usually has his phone. Which I can definitely inform you all is currently on the table at home."

"I have never seen Trini wearing a watch at all. She does have a phone on occasion, but if memory serves me correctly, it belongs to her father." Nina confessed.

"Any ideas what we can do to be there when they light those flares?" Midge asked from the screen. Looking at the screen she saw all of the girls looking up and away from the screen. Hearing the sound, she waited for someone to let her know what was going on.

She heard a gruff sounding voice, as well as some stomping. "Did someone say flares. I have some back at my place if you be needing some." Mr. Rowley said stomping his boots as he entered from the back door.

Everyone looked up when Mr. Rowley walked into the Trading Post. He was wearing a heavy parka, dark boots, and pants. His face was also covered in snow he had not removed yet.

He looked at all of the faces and no one was talking. "Did you need the flares? Although I would assume you have some since this is the trading post after all."

"Hi Mr. Rowley. We have flares. We weren't expecting you because of the snow. What brings you to the trading post?" Layla asked. "Just wanted to offer some assistance since the snow has let up for a bit. What are you ladies up to?" He asked tamping the snow from off of his hat, parka, gloves, moustache and face.

"We just received a report from Auntie Midge and a video from Molly and the other kids." Layla mentioned. "What was in the video, if I may ask?" Rowley inquired.

"They said they were going to light some flares around dinnertime. We need to figure out a way to be in the area when they do so we can find them." Nina mentioned. "Also, Daniel, Walter, Nat and Kenji are currently on snow machines looking for the kids, but they have a window of about fifteen minutes, before another storm hits." Atsaq stated.

"Hmm." He said stroking his chin. "Midge, how long is the storm going to last?" She consulted her screen. They all waited for her to respond since they were also curious as to how long the storm would last. She came back onto the video, "According to the National Weather Service, the storm is going to last about six hours, ending about midafternoon. Why?" She reported.

"I have an idea Midge. I need Layla to have her plane ready by then. It's about an hour or so drive to Nenana from here. She should be able to see a flare from the ground very easily right?"

"Right. Thanks to the darkness here, we should be able to see them." Midge admitted. "Auntie Midge, I can have the plane ready in time. However, because of the storm, I will have to dig out to the plane and so will Atsaq since she'll be joining me." Layla confirmed with Atsaq.

Midge nodded. "Call Nat and the gang back, I think if we work our cards right, the kids will be back this evening safe and sound." Rowley mentioned.

"Layla get them back and let's plan for tonight, We need to get those kids back." Midge stated. "Yes ma'am. I hope this works, I want them back here just as much as everyone else." Layla stated with finality. The other ladies nodded as well.

"Nat are we still on the trail?" Walter screamed into the wind.

Nat looked around and didn't see anything indicating they were even following a trail. "I don't think we are." He yelled back to Walter trailing behind him.

"At this point, I have no idea where we are. I just know that we're north of Qyah." He yelled again.

"Nat, is that the satellite phone ringing? Daniel asked.

Feeling around for the phone, he pulled it out of the carrying case and opened the phone. "Go for Nat."

"Nat, it's Nina. Come back to the Trading Post. We have a plan to rescue the kids tonight. We'll give more details when you return. Nina out."

Nat stowed the phone and called back to Walter and Kenji. "They didn't know we were already heading back. From what Nina just told me, they have a plan for rescuing the kids." Walter hearing Nat just nodded his head and throttled the sled increasing the speed as he and Kenji followed Nat south towards Qyah.

"Do you think they'll get the message and be able to see the flares if they're around us when we use them?" Tooey asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine I am just hoping we're not wasting our best opportunity to be rescued." Molly thought aloud as she put the now dead phone away.

"Is the phone dead Molly?" Trini asked. "Yes and no. There's only fifteen percent. That is not enough strength to do another video, phone call or anything." She sighed. "Also. I only have between one, one and a half, two bars at most. Not enough to make the phone useful again."

"Oh, sorry we used so much of the phone. Just wanted to send that last one because I thought it'll help us out." Tooey mentioned hanging his head.

"I am not bothered by the phone. We all tried to help ourselves. Let's see what happens. I want to get home just as much as you do." Molly said reaching over ad pulling them both into a hug. Seeing Trini to her left she hugged that side lighter than she hugged Tooey.

"Me too" Trini chimed in, reaching around as much as she could.

"I am glad we killed the phone trying to help ourselves rather than doing nothing." Molly replied releasing them. "Is there any muktuk and bread left?" Trini asked.

"Not much, we had to feed the dogs as well, and they ate quite a bit of it since they were just as hungry as we were."

"What time is it Molly?" Tooey asked. Pulling out the phone she looked at the time. "It can still tell time, that's a good thing. It's 9:30 am. We won't be using the flares until about five or six this evening. We have some time why?" She asked wondering.

"Just tired, I want to get some sleep. Not doing anything is just as tiring as working on the dogs. Which I need to see to since they've been sleeping most of the time we've been here. I'm going to try to take them upside for a walk. Then sleep. Is that okay?" Tooey asked as he put his heavy parka back on.

"Sure, I need some sleep as well, I'll help with the dogs. Trini you can sleep while we're gone. Thanks for your help during the video." Molly said.

Trini smiled and nodded. "I really haven't done anything, thanks for making me feel better Molly." She thought to herself.

"Okay, Nani, let's get the dogs up and walked, then some rest before we try to save ourselves tonight." Tooey told her holding the flap of the open for her. Molly smiled as she ducked under his arm. "It's not a door, but it's nice he held it open for me. That was really gentlemanly of him.
