Chapter Thirteen: Villains Enter Temple, Heroes Locked Out
"I did not come this fucking far just to be denied entry inside of you, Temple of Reckoning! You hold the valuable pieces of jewelry I require to rule this planet!" Mojo Jojo shouted angrily as he was banging on the entry door, still stuck on the right side of the Temple of Reckoning after he penetrated the eleven layers.
"Come hell or high water, we are getting inside this mother fucking temple, Cad!" Simon Bar Sinister also shouted out angrily, he and Cad Lackey banging on the entry door, still stuck on the left side of the Temple of Reckoning after they penetrated the eleven layers.
All three villains went inside of their backpacks to try to find mini versions of their scan visions, all successful after just a minute or two of searching. Mojo used scan goggles while Simon and Cad favored wrist worn devices. They all turned their scan vision devices on and just scanned all around the immediate area to try to find any hints whatsoever that would keep the door open long enough for them to enter. After scanning for several minutes, they were unsuccessful at finding the clues they needed.
"Curses!" Mojo shouted, surprisingly resisting the urge to slam his scan goggles into the ground in frustration. "There just has to be a fucking way in! Those fucking geniuses from centuries ago couldn't have made it impossible!"
"Ah, fuck my life!" Simon shouted, continuing to bang on the entry door.
"Shit, boss, I've got nothing on my end." Cad said to Simon.
"We ARE NOT leaving this fucking place until I get my hands on that fucking jewelry! I WILL NOT let you beat me, Temple of Reckoning!" Simon shouted out towards the door, the villains still pondering on how to get inside.
In the meantime, The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog could all be seen flying over the Atlantic Ocean, retracing the directions to the Temple of Reckoning that were shown to them on their TV screens when they all heard about the penetration. Because of their ability of super speed and flight, it did not take them as long to arrive to the Temple of Reckoning. What took approximately nine hours for the villains only took about 45 minutes for the heroes, though that was still very long for their standards. They knew they were getting close by when they saw the unmistakable shape that the Temple of Reckoning had, the Powerpuff Girls approaching from the right side and Underdog approaching from the left side.
"There's our temple!" Blossom said just as the girls stopped to survey the temple.
The transparent layers made it easy for the girls to see the entrance and the person trying to get in, Mojo still pushing the button several times to keep it open long enough but was getting absolutely nowhere.
"And there's our mother fucking monkey, just as we suspected!" Bubbles said as she pointed at Mojo.
"Shit, that IS Mojo! How the fuck did he get through?" Buttercup pondered. "But fuck it, let's fucking go!" Buttercup added just as she began to make a beeline to the temple.
"No, Buttercup, stop!" Blossom shouted as she stepped in front of Buttercup. "There are eleven layers that aren't visible to the naked eye, so we need to tread carefully."
"Yeah, you're right, Blossom, sorry." Buttercup said.
"Girls, scan the area and see if we can uncover the layers." Blossom ordered as she, Bubbles, and Buttercup used their scan visions to scan the entire temple.
The transparent layers made it easy for Underdog to see the entrance and the people trying to get in, Simon and Cad still pushing the button several times to keep it open long enough, of course with no success.
"And of course it was Simon and Cad with another evil plan they hatched." Underdog said as he too surveyed the temple. "My RevealVision will unmask the layers, then I'll put an end to Simon's caper." Underdog added as he used his scan vision to scan the entire temple.
In the few minutes that the Powerpuff Girls and Underdog took to scan the temple, Mojo pressed the button again to open up the doors to the temple, which the doors quickly closed on him, of course. The Townsville chimpanzee held his head down in disappointment while holding the button down. He then stepped his left foot backwards, but he got a bit of a shock when he lost his footing because a piece of the ground sunk down, Mojo losing balance and falling hard on his back. As Mojo was recovering from his slight fall, he saw that the temple door opened up and stayed open. He gasped and dropped his jaw, quickly trying to get back to his feet and putting on his backpack. But just as soon as Mojo was going to enter, the door quickly slammed shut on him again, Mojo pounding his fists on the door.
"Curse you, Temple of Reckoning!" Mojo shouted out. "I will fucking enter you!"
Mojo regained his composure long enough to look towards where he stepped and lost his footing, tapping his chin a few times and trying to replay the last minute or two.
Meanwhile, on the left side of the temple, Simon pressed his button multiple times just to see if he could keep the door open long enough for him and Cad to get inside, but there was of course no dice. While Simon continued to press the button, Cad just threw his hands up in frustration. To Simon and Cad's surprise, the door opened and stayed open, their eyes lighting up.
"Boss, the door!" Cad shouted.
"Get your shit and let's fucking go, Cad!" Simon ordered, he and Cad swiftly putting on their backpacks as well before making strides to enter the temple.
Unfortunately for them, the door shut very quickly on them both, Simon's left knee hitting the door very hard, Simon writhing in a bit of pain while favoring his left knee.
"Shit, boss, are you all right?" Cad asked as he helped his boss to his feet.
"Shit, that fucking hurt!" Simon shouted out, getting in just a very slight limp but was able to stand on his own two feet a minute or two afterwards. "Yeah, I'm good, but what the fuck did you do, Cad?" Simon then inquired.
"No fucking clue, boss. I just threw my hands up and the door stayed open." Cad answered.
The scene shifted back to the Powerpuff Girls and Underdog, who had finished scanning the temple and were able to unmask the same eleven layers that Mojo, Simon, and Cad all busted through. The girls were admittedly a bit spooked from what they saw, but Underdog didn't really flinch.
"Shit, that all looks fucking scary." Buttercup said.
"Yeah, but it's nothing we can't get through, girls. But just in case, let's turn on our Powerpuff Shields." Blossom ordered, the girls harnessing a bit of energy before they were surrounded by a glow that would protect them.
Underdog only nodded to what he saw, just thinking on what he could do to get through the eleven layers.
"I should be able to break right through. My Underdog Armor power will do." Underdog said as he flexed a bit, not to show off but to harness his own power, creating a silver armor-like cloak on him.
The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog all made high speed flights through the layers, penetrating them with ease and with their shields protecting them from the effects of the layers. However, unlike Mojo, Simon, and Cad's initial penetration, the heroes' penetration didn't sound off a very loud sonic boom or flash a blinding light. It did make the surrounding village's ground shake just a bit more, however. Like the villains, the heroes all had to go through the same optical and auditory illusions, following the same faint and subtle clues to go through the right path.
As the heroes were penetrating the layers themselves, Mojo held the button down on the right side of the temple and watched his step, stepping backwards and seeing and feeling the floor sink under him, the temple door opening. Just as the Powerpuff Girls were finishing penetrating the eleven layers, Mojo, who was oblivious to the fact that the girls were right behind him, entered the temple successfully. Before the girls could get to him, the door swiftly slammed shut and locking the girls out.
"Damnit, we're too late!" Bubbles said.
Buttercup immediately pressed the button that Mojo was working with, but it of course opened and shut the door very quickly no matter what they tried.
"Just how in the actual fuck did that bastard keep the fucking door open?!" Buttercup yelled out.
Over on Simon and Cad's end, as Underdog was penetrating the eleven layers, Simon kept pressing the button just as he was before all the while flailing one arm around like he was throwing it up in frustration. At one point, he even jumped and flailed his arm around and managed to get the door open. Just as Underdog was finishing penetrating the eleven layers, Simon and Cad, who both were oblivious to the fact that Underdog was right behind them, both entered the temple successfully. Before Underdog could get to them both, the door swiftly slammed shut, Underdog having to put on the brakes to avoid a high-speed collision. Underdog pressed the button to open the door, but it of course very quickly slammed shut with Underdog looking very confused.
"It bewilders me how those pieces of shit got inside the temple without a hitch." Underdog said.
Once again, just like the villains in their respective cities, the Powerpuff Girls and Underdog scanned the immediate area on their respective sides to try to find any hints whatsoever on how to get inside of the Temple of Reckoning, but they were all unsuccessful. Both sets of heroes tried pressing the buttons in all sorts of ways as well, but still nothing.
"Aaaargh! FUCKING PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT!" Buttercup shouted out angrily.
"Damnit, Temple of Reckoning, fucking let us in!" Bubbles also shouted out angrily.
"We mustn't give up, girls! If Mojo can find the way in, so can we!" Blossom said.
"I'll find my way into this domain or Underdog just isn't my name." Underdog said.
