Chapter Seventeen: The Epic Clash Of Two Worlds Concludes
Simon Bar Sinister and Cad Lackey made their exit from the Temple of Reckoning with the Forbidden Necklace and the Bracelets of Despair in their firm grasp. However, still inside the temple in the other secluded pit, The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog were still deeply entrenched in their battle against one another, having totally forgotten about their main task at hand. The girls had the three-on-one advantage over Underdog, which would normally be more than enough to stop anyone they have faced. But Underdog, a seasoned superhero himself, kept the mighty Powerpuff Girls in a down-the-middle stalemate despite the girls having the numbers advantage.
The Powerpuff Girls got in several individual and collective shots on Underdog, but Underdog responded and took on Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup blow for blow. Underdog, initially unable to withstand the triple team onslaught from Townsville's valiant defenders, found ways to neutralize an otherwise insurmountable disadvantage. At one point, Buttercup and Underdog threw haymakers at each other with both landing their targets at the exact same time, sending them both flying in opposite directions and hitting the ground hard. The girls recovered on one end while Underdog recovered on the other, standing up on their own two feet after a long while.
"FUCK! We can't get this fucking asswipe down!" Buttercup shouted in frustration.
"Let's keep going, girls! We'll get him eventually! We always do!" Bubbles suggested.
"No, Bubbles!" Blossom disagreed. "This guy is for fucking real. It's time to end this fight and get back to Mojo. It's gone on long e-fucking-nough! On my mark!" Blossom added as she and the girls flew high in the air.
"I couldn't agree more that this fight must cease. It is time that you taste defeat!" Underdog declared as he readied himself for the girls' next attack.
"Powerpuff!" Blossom shouted out as she powered up her right hand.
"Starburst!" Bubbles shouted out as she too powered up her right hand.
"Ray!" Buttercup shouted out as she too powered up her right hand.
"GO!" All three girls shouted out in unison as they shot their three separate rays to meet at one point, which then shot a large ray towards Underdog.
Underdog, very quick on the trigger, powered up his right hand as well, shooting out a huge ray of his own.
"My superior power will keep you three at bay! Meet the Underdog PowerRay!" Underdog shouted out.
The Powerpuff Starburst Ray and the Underdog PowerRay met at the middle, neither side giving an inch to the other. Each side tried adding more and more power to create an advantage, the girls and Underdog adding their left hands into the mix. But it became an irresistible force clashing with an immovable object. For several more minutes, The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog turned up the power to the max, the two rays counteracting with one another for an extended period of time.
Eventually, with neither side willing to yield, the build up of the counteraction reached its breaking point, creating a massive explosion that hit the girls and Underdog, sending them hurtling skyward. The combatants then hit the ground very hard, laying there for roughly a half hour. Afterwards, the Powerpuff Girls and Underdog started their recovery. They were all very slow to get back up, dusting themselves off and getting out several coughs.
Buttercup, after finishing up her recovery, prepared herself to fly towards Underdog, who readied himself for more fighting. But Blossom stepped right in front of Buttercup and held her back.
"No, Buttercup!" Blossom shouted. "This fight is over. It's a fucking draw."
"Draw my ass!" Buttercup disagreed. "My ass kicking tank is still on F! F for Fuck This Moron Up!"
"Damnit, Buttercup, no!" Bubbles said as she also stepped in front of Buttercup. "The time for kicking ass is over, and the time for talk is now!"
"I'd listen to them if I were you, but if you wish to fight more I'm happy to." Underdog added.
After another minute or two of Blossom and Bubbles holding back Buttercup, Buttercup stopped trying to advance towards Underdog, letting out a deflated sigh.
"Oh, all right! But we're asking the fucking questions here, cocksnot, you got it?!" Buttercup shouted. "Just who the fuck are you and how and why the fuck did you let Mojo talk you into helping him?!"
"I know nothing of this Mojo you speak, but why you were helping Simon is the answer I seek!" Underdog countered.
"Simon? Who the fuck is Simon?" Bubbles asked with a puzzled look on her face.
"Look, that monkey with the very tall hat that you helped up and flew away, that is Mojo Jojo. He's an evil son of a bitch that came here to get the Forbidden Necklace and the Bracelets of Despair. We came here to stop him from doing that." Blossom explained.
"Now that is very funny because the reason I came was to stop Simon Bar Sinister from doing the same!" Underdog explained. "He and Cad Lackey are also evil bastards. The necklace and the bracelets are what they too were after. When I saw you flying the two of them, I thought all of you were up to something grim."
"Sheesh, what is up with the fucking rhymes?" Buttercup said in an annoyed voice.
"I am a hero who never fails. I can't be bothered with such details." Underdog replied.
"Fuck! Now this has been one complete, total, 100%, Grade A, government-approved clusterfuck!" Blossom said angrily as she threw her arms up.
"Look mister, we're also heroes, and all of this has been a grave misunderstanding." Bubbles added. "We had no clue Simon was evil and trying to get the jewelry. We were only here for Mojo."
"We'll forgive you if you'll forgive us." Blossom offered.
"All water under the bridge, fighting more is no use. It is time now we've been introduced." Underdog replied. "My name is Underdog, and you are?" Underdog then introduced.
"I'm Blossom." Blossom introduced.
"My name is Bubbles!" Bubbles introduced.
"Buttercup." Buttercup introduced.
"And we're The Powerpuff Girls!" The three girls said in unison as Underdog cracked an ear-to-ear smile.
"The Powerpuff Girls, all names start with B. The way you three fight is amazing to me." Underdog replied.
Underdog extended his hand out to the three girls, the girls shaking his hand and putting an end to their conflict.
"Now that we've been introduced, Underdog, we have a favor to ask of you." Blossom got out. "You and we were all here for the same reason, and we've all got fucking sidetracked from stopping our respective villains by fighting each other."
"Yeah, and as much as I'd hate to admit it, you've kicked our asses just as much as we've kicked your ass. There's no one else on the face of the Earth that can take us on like you did." Buttercup added.
"You're a hero, and we're heroes too, so…." Bubbles got out.
"We propose that we join forces to go out and stop Mojo, Simon, or both, whomever we need to get." Blossom proposed.
"There are perils that are too big even for just me. So the Powerpuff Girls and Underdog are now a team!" Underdog accepted.
"Yeah!" All three girls got out excitedly, giving high fives to Underdog.
"Now, everyone, the first order of business, let's get back to the top! Maybe we can still catch the villains in the act!" Blossom said.
The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog made the lengthy flight back up to the top of the octagon room where the resting place of the Forbidden Necklace and the Bracelets of Despair once was. But of course, the bulletproof glass was fully penetrated and laying around the general area in pieces, and the power jewelry was gone.
"Shit! We're too late!" Buttercup said angrily.
"Our jewelry thieves could not have gone far. We shall stop them before they can start!" Underdog declared.
"Right! Come on!" Blossom said.
The girls and Underdog began to make their exit from the temple by flying up to the same door that appeared when Simon and Cad grabbed the jewelry. Underdog opened up the door, and just like with Simon and Cad, a huge torrent of rodents, mainly rats and mice, came rushing out, slightly spooking Underdog but scaring the Powerpuff Girls heavily, the three girls screaming.
"RATS!" The girls screamed loudly as they held onto each other.
"There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!" Underdog said.
Underdog used his large cape to blanket the girls, holding onto them and flying them out while he went in head first. He flew over the large barrage of rodents and used his laser eyebeams to go through the large cobwebs and the lot of insects and arachnids. Just like with Simon and Cad, the giant rat appeared in front of Underdog, which spooked him a bit more. Underdog saw the opening on the right of the giant rat and went right through it, flying out the exit and getting to the roof of the Temple of Reckoning.
Underdog unraveled his cape and set the girls free, the girls sighing in relief and smiling at Underdog.
"Oh, thank you so much, Underdog! You da man!" Buttercup said.
"No problem, girls, it sure scared me. It's probably a sight you girls shouldn't see." Underdog said.
"Hey, look! A slide!" Bubbles said excitedly, seeing the same slide that Simon and Cad used. "Let's use it, please, Blossom?!"
"Awesome! What say you, Underdog?!" Blossom asked.
"While it is much quicker that we fly, we may as well have fun and use the slide!" Underdog answered.
"Fucking sweet, let's go!" Buttercup said.
The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog all lined up on the slide with Underdog in the very back. They went down the slide, the girls letting out a blissful "Whee" sound as they all giggled and screamed in joy, Underdog also shouting out in excitement as the slide snaked in and out of the temple with its many twists and turns. Like Simon and Cad, they got to the very bottom in about three minutes with the four of them ending up at the middle of the temple.
"Yeah! Now that was fun!" Bubbles said as the girls let out a few extra giggles.
"Yeah, I agree, but fun time has finished. We must stop evil with the quickness." Underdog said.
"Right on, Underdog." Blossom agreed. "Okay, everyone, we need to haul ass back to Townsville. If Mojo escaped, that is where he'd be!" Blossom suggested.
"When evil is abound, we are not slow. It's hip hip hip to Townsville we go!" Underdog mentioned.
The Powerpuff Girls and Underdog made the flight off to Townsville, their search for the jewelry thieves underway.
