ALRIGHT FELLAS! Some explanations first. Ten Reasons had proven to be a good concept, yes, but not one I could maintain. I had the planning done for several big events in that one, but not enough to fill in the gaps, ya know? Chapters were growing shorter and shorter, and I didn't want to deliver a weak story with barely any consistency in chapter size and quality, so I ultimately decided to take that one down and held a poll over in the discord for the next story. This one won!
Now, if you are familiar with my Arc of Hell work, then you are bound to enjoy this as well! And if you saw the crossover tag, then you are most likely aware of what this is a cross with. Huniepop. Yup, Jaune has his work cut out for him, but know that this isn't going to be some smooth sailing boat for him like the game, where you ignore the issues and emotions of the girls. Nah, Jaune is...Jaune. Things are going to take a while before he gets into their pants.
I know that some of you might say there is no plot to use from Huniepop apart from all the seducing or the stuff from the sequel, but let me tell ya...You are half-right. The first game doesn't offer much, but the second gave us more insight into both the girls from the sequel and even some from the first game. I found myself able to extract the stories of each girl, look them over, and, oh boy! Take this as a warning from me; there are going to be a lot of touchy subjects that people can relate to here.
Good thing is this M-rated, ey, gentleman? I will post only this chapter for now, with the second coming out later this week. I want to see how this is received. Enjoy!
"Get her!" Shouting was all she heard as she sprinted off, trying to distance herself from her pursuers. She was breathing heavily, not used to making this much effort…outside a particular chamber. However, now was not the time to be lazy.
She had to run.
She had to escape.
She had to survive.
And there was only one way she knew how to do it. Coming to the realm's edge, she looked at the world below. It has been a good few years since she last visited, but now, she had no choice. She was nervous, however. This won't be an official visit, and there were risks involved.
"Kyu Sugardust, stay put!" Another shout, and as she turned around, hearing her name shouted, she saw her pursuers mere meters from her. So what is she to do but jump?
Walking the streets of Vale in the dead of night, a certain boy was going to his apartment. Or, well, the sorry excuse for an apartment he was able to find on such short notice. His blonde hair and blue eyes were dirty, unkept, and tired, respectively, and his clothing was long overdue for change. Too bad he had none. Arriving at the building, he made his way up the stairs, his hand grasping the railing so as not to fall off if he tripped.
His name? Jaune Arc: recently expelled Fraud of Beacon. Despite his desire to follow his family's legacy, going against his father, it all came crumbling down in the end for him. Not only was he expelled, and everyone he called a friend turned against him, including one of the teachers, but his family - namely his father - refused to let him return home.
As far as he was concerned, he was as good as disowned now. He was not LEGALLY disowned because he was the only male heir to the Arc name and fortune, with his grandfather making sure to put it in his will. His father could do nothing to change that, but it mattered little.
He now lived in Vale, working a shitty part-time job and living in a shittier apartment. Seriously, the apartment he lived in had only one room - the bedroom, with a small table and one outdated oven, and the bathroom was so small you could not close the door as you sat down to shit!
Crocea Mors was long since shipped back to his family's home, but at least there was ONE silver lining.
His semblance. During his first few nights, some punks tried to rob him of the little he had left, but they didn't expect his aura and tried harder. He broke their noses by mistake, yet that was when the guy pulled out a gun of all things and emptied the barrel - which only had three bullets before it clicked empty, really - into his gut. His aura deflected the first two, but the last one got in his gut.
The others didn't sign up for murder, so they ran, but the last one stuck behind. Jaune doesn't recall everything; things are still blurry, but he remembers that his aura seemed to return to him incredibly fast, after which he let loose on that guy, breaking his nose in more and knocking him out. He bolted but pieced it together later to see what happened.
He could amplify the aura's effects, making it a stronger defense and healing agent. This was a powerful semblance, which he could have used in Beacon. Well, no matter now. It worked well to help him with the idiots on the streets, as he had to learn to defend himself. "Another day, another—" He stopped his small monologue as he sat on the bed, hissing in pain and grabbing his gut. "Right."
Truth be told, that bullet he took that night? It was still there. He didn't go to the hospital, as he had no insurance or money to pay for it, but it didn't cause him trouble. From the classes he took, he knew it was not a dangerous spot. Highly aggravating and causing him grief? Yes, but not life-threatening.
Today marks three weeks since he left Beacon. Yet, that aside, he just wanted to go to sleep. He still had the toned muscles from his training to get to Beacon, but they wouldn't last at this rate. He would slowly fade away, with another voice in the background and another light to fade when his time came.
He never achieved anything and only failed. With his luck, things will remain this way. Sometimes, he wished he could just close his eyes and turn back time, stop himself from telling Pyrrha anything, and work hard by himself, even if he drops. He wished he could have a second chance.
"Goodnight, Vale." Turning off the light in his room and tossing his shirt aside, he put himself on his bed, dragging the small blanket over himself.
Except, no sooner had he done that than he jerked up as he heard his window break and a glowing, pink projectile roll inside his room. "For fuck's sake!" He went to the window, looking for a certain pink bomber he knew. He doubted Nora would dare do something this petty, but he could not be too sure.
He saw no one there, which led him to think about the next issue: How he would explain the window to the landlord…"Great, another misfortune to add to my ever-growing pile of things to whine about."
"Owwww." Now that Jaune was not expecting, especially considering everything. Turning around and looking down at the floor, he was shocked to see just WHAT was there. Or rather, who? Currently on the ground wearing what Jaune could only describe as a flashy, pink costume with her panties showing was a small, palm-sized pink-haired girl with green eyes who stared at him.
"OK…" He inhaled deeply. "I officially lost my marbles." He said to himself. "Yup, that's it! I, Jaune Arc, have officially gone mad! At least admitting myself to a psychiatry hospital will alleviate my living conditions…"
"Hey!"
"Or better yet, they will get me so high I won't notice my life ending. Surely, they can be that kind."
"Hey!" The girl jumped up, spreading what he could only describe as pinkish wings and flying to him.
"Oh…A pixie. I am calling the authorities. I need to be-"
"Can you stop blabbering for one second?! You are not crazy! Also, a PIXIE?! I am a Fairy, mind you!" She shouted, sounding like someone was scratching plates with a fork to Jaune. "Good, it seems you calmed yourself. Fuck, look at this place! Out of all losers in Vale, I had to land here."
"Hey! I am doing what I can over here!" Jaune retorted. However, his thoughts calmed, and he finally began to realize some things. "Wait…Who and WHAT are you?"
"Are you deaf? I already said I'm a Fairy."
"Yeah, but Fairies are not real," Jaune replied, causing the girl's frustration to grow.
"Well, what do you know, Buster! There is one right before your eyes!" She flew up to him, his bed, and got on it. "Phew! Those sheets reek! When was the last time you washed them?"
"Never? I've been living here for only three weeks now." He replied, watching the 'Fairy' sigh as she rubbed her forehead.
"OK, I think we need to get introductions out of the way, shall we? At least then, we'd know one another's names. Although you just said yours, I guess I will say mine. I am Kyu Sugardust!"
"...Sugardust?"
"Shush you! Ugh. I am not even 1 hour in this world, and I already have to deal with an idiot…"
"Again, hey!"
Kyu sighed. "Sorry, it's just…that time of the month, you know? Plus, I had some stuff happen, so my mood is not the best right now."
Jaune sighed. "Then how about I do the talking first, and you answer? First, you already said your name and what you are - even if I am having trouble believing it - so allow me to ask: Where did you come from, and why did you smash through my window?"
"Wait, a window?! Is that why my landing was so rough?" She looked toward the mentioned window. "Oops. Yeah, sorry about that. But to answer your question, I come from up high!" She pointed up.
"The next floor?"
"What?! No, you idiot! I come from a realm called Sky Garden, where the other Fairies live as well! Or rather said, my breed of Fairies, called Love Fairies." Kyu began. "You see, Jaune, our job is to help people having difficulties in their love life find love or just become incredible lovers. As far as my record goes, I will brag I am unmatched in creating the latter."
"OK…Are you sure I am not crazy?"
"Ugh," Kyu growled in frustration. "You are not crazy! You are as sane as possible, and this is happening! However…My current condition is not ideal, so to say."
"What do you mean by that?" Now, curiosity was starting to take over Jaune.
"I may have…fled from Sky Garden? OK, before you assume anything, here's the thing: There is currently a change in leadership up there, and each time that happens, there is apparently some mental reset being done to all Love Fairies. We'd pretty much become new people! And I didn't want to change. I wanted to remain me! To remember all the people I've helped, all the good I've done, and all the fucking I've done in my life!"
"The last one is…questionable, but I guess I can understand why you'd run," Jaune said slowly. "Still, if you are on the run, shouldn't you be on your way? I doubt standing around in one place is good."
"I wish…" She sighed. "Unfortunately, there is more. Since I fled Sky Garden, I lost my access to the mana supply it gives."
"Mana? As in, magical energy?"
"Oh? I see you are not completely stupid. Yes, that is correct! Unfortunately, Remnant's supply is pretty much…dead. There are only six people left in this entire world who can use magic, and trust me, I am NOT going to any of them! Even if I could, the fact I landed here sealed our fate."
"Our fate?" Jaune echoed.
"Yup! Congratulations, Jaune Arc! I, Kyu Sugardust, am your personal love fairy!" Kyu said, and Jaune felt a vein appear on his forehead. "Since you are the first person I came into contact with, you are my anchor! Although you may not have any true magic in you, all humans have a bit of mana they are wasting through their lives, and I bound myself to you, putting that mana to use: keeping me alive!"
"So…You will fly or sit on my shoulder all day…?"
"Oh! First, let me clarify some things: Only you can see or hear me, and you won't need to talk to me verbally. You only must think with our link, and I will hear everything! Also, I am not going to live in this place…Just no." Kyu explained, and then she went to the side and found his scroll. She opened it easily, then began to search for something on it. "Damn it, it was easier when I was bigger - Ah ha!"
Throwing the scroll to Jaune, he caught it before it fell to the floor, seeing what was on it. "Kyu…You must be joking."
"I am NOT joking, Mister! I need more mana, and we only get more if we turn you into a lady's man! And that place is just perfect for the job!"
"Bella Dia Isle. It's located offshore from Vacuo," Jaune said, reading some information she pulled up. Kyu, I-..." He scratched his head nervously. "I barely have enough money to feed myself, let alone go to a tropical paradise! I also only have the clothing you see here!"
"Yuck. Even underwear?"
"Luckily, of those, I have multiple pairs. But surely you understand my issue."
"Hmmm. I guess I do. But that being said, how quickly can you pack up and be ready to leave?"
"Kyu, I already said-"
"I know what you said, meaning we must take the more illegal route of stowing away on a ship! Luckily, this fairy did her homework and knew when the next ship to Bella Dia carrying some Dust was leaving from Vale! Tonight! In less than three hours!"
"What the—It's crazy!" he threw his scroll on his bed. "OK, Fairies might be real. From what you told me, magic is real, too! But do you really expect me to drop my part-time job and roof and just high-tail it to some island?"
"Well, then, Mister Snarky, answer me: What have you to lose?" She asked him, and Jaune found himself quickly at a loss for words. "This shitty place? Your job? Trust me, had it been a decent job, I doubt you'd be living like this. Now, you are either a loser who was kicked out of his father's house or some orphan - which I doubt, considering you have a family name."
"I…It doesn't concern you." He replied, fist clenching.
"Well, tough break, blondie! Like it or not, we are stuck together, so you better spill your guts right now! I don't want to deal with your baggage later." She flew up in his face. "Or would you rather I do mind reading instead?"
"Fine, fine! Just…stay out of my head." He inhaled deeply. "I guess…I will tell you the story as I pack. You do have a point, you know. I have nothing left to lose."
"Atta boy! Now, tell Momma Sugardust what got you into this shithole!"
"Momma Sugardust?"
"Shush you."
Later, as Jaune finished packing his bag and went out of his apartment, Kyu rested on his shoulders, deep in thought. He left the key in the door so the landlord could pick it up, then slowly made his way down the stairs and out into the open streets of Vale. Truth be said, he was nervous and afraid, but Kyu made a good point earlier.
What had he to lose? The answer was nothing. And back then, that realization drew from Jaune's mind a certain memory—not something his father once said, but rather his maternal grandfather, Claus Seraph. He told him that when there is nothing left to lose anymore when you are at rock bottom, there is no reason to despair.
It was not a reason to fear. It was hope. When you have nothing, you have everything to gain. You have all the hope in the world, and those who try to take it away will only set you back one step, but you must leap two steps ahead of them.
He had nothing left to lose and everything to gain. So he will gain everything he can. Kyu bragged about her previous experience, so maybe she also knew a few other things. He brought his scroll out, checking the time to see how long they had left. The ship was scheduled to go in about 2 hours and 30 minutes now, and the docks were a good hour away on foot from where he was. That left them one hour to sneak on the ship and find a suitable hiding place.
"So, let me review what you told me." Kyu began. "You wanted to be a Huntsman all your life, who are like those big, hunky people that save others from the Grimm."
"Yup."
"But your father prevented you from training in any way and even prevented you from learning anything related."
"Going as far as getting the entire community of retired Huntsmen in Ansel to shoo me away whenever I asked for as much as a tip."
"Yikes. Then, one day, you had enough, so you stole your family's sword and bolted to Beacon Academy, which I assume is that large building in the distance." Kyu said, pointing right at Beacon.
"Correct again."
"You used false documents to get in, spilled your guts to this prodigy girl called Pyrrha, she snitched on you, all your so-called friends turned on you, and your family has unofficially disowned you."
"Correct, correct, and correct."
"Sheesh, dude," Kyu said, giving him a more sympathetic look. "I gotta say, what you did WAS stupid, but sheesh! Those people overreacted! Like, seriously, look at you! If your old man is so worried your bloodline will end, why not fuck another broad himself?"
At this, Jaune flinched.
"Sorry, I guess I took it a bit far. Look, what you did was selfless; I get that much. And you were pretty brave for sticking around after initiation, where you got your cherry popped when it comes to seeing and fighting Grimm." She continued, this time trying not to strike somewhere sensible.
"It's OK. It's just that I already have seven sisters, so-"
"What?!" Kyu jumped up, screaming right in his ear.
"Kyu, damn it! Not in my ear!"
"You have how many sisters?! And you only now tell me this information?! Dude, that is the kind of information I need to know if I am to turn you into a lady's man!"
"And how does that help?"
"No woman is going to want to go raw in the sack if the risk of pregnancy is THAT HIGH!" And there goes her reason. "Like, seriously! How come your mother is still standing?"
"...You know, now that I stay to think about it, you make a fair point," Jaune said, pondering it. He was not some sheltered idiot; he knew where babies came from, and his father gave him the talk when he was 15! "Like, my father is a pretty large man, too, and my mother is smaller than him."
"Sounds to me like someone is very flexible," Kyu remarked, which, in all honesty, made things a bit awkward for Jaune. "Still, that makes me return to my earlier question: If your father is not properly disowning you to continue the family name and all of that stuff, why not simply have another child? Surely, the 50/50 lottery is bound to give him another boy, given the number of girls by now."
"Honestly? He might have. Both my parents are still within their fertile years, and from what I read, an aura can extend those for a few more years." He said, but then came the twist. "However, my parents decided eight was enough. So, as a result, my mother got her tubes tied, and my father got a vasectomy."
"Shit! Really?! Both? Yeah, no, they ain't having any more children with those measures in place."
"Yeah. So, me staying alive is kind of their only choice." He continued, and not long after, they arrived at the docks. "OK, Kyu, now what?"
"Now? You hitch a ride! Also, do not worry about your financial situation. I got the perfect plan to fix that!"
"I…I just hope you won't screw my life more than it already is."
On a good note, Kyu should have considered that Jaune's motion sickness might also extend to sea sickness. Sure, they managed to sneak onto the boat and even found an empty crate they were currently hiding within the cargo compartment, but that was also a curse.
Jaune was having a tough time, and he turned a shade of green. Kyu had only seen it in ALIEN species before, not humans! There was little she could do since she had no mana to spare. However, this proved to be no immediate issue to her plans. Jaune needed a way to get money once they got to Bella Dia, and Kyu knew just how to use the few perks she had left.
"Alas!" Jaune said as his feet touched the ground, having successfully snuck off the ship and properly arrived on Bella Dia. Currently, he is at the docks, and from here, he can see the main part of the island. Tropical, with vegetation all around, and in the center of it, a buzzing city. Bella Dia was famous for its beautiful sights and modern environment, its nightlife, and the tales of debauchery people come here to achieve.
It was a place to unwind and have fun, yet Jaune couldn't afford those two. Not yet, anyway.
"Alright! We made good time as well!" Kyu said as she sat on his shoulder. "Now that you are here, it's time to enact phase 2 of my plan!"
"Phase 2?"
"Yes, phase 2. Do you know how you are whining about your finances back in Vale? Well, chances are a lottery is being drawn tonight, with a prize of 500K Lien! Is that enough for an apartment and living expenses?" Jaune's eyes widened.
"And you are only now telling me this?!" The volume he shouted at drew in wondering eyes, which had him quickly pull out his scroll to pretend he was talking to it as he continued to walk away from the docks so no one would catch on about him being a stowaway. "Kyu, if you had such information, why not tell me earlier?!"
"Well…Yeah, no, I have no excuse. But! We can win this and get some nice cash for our stay, which, mind you, we NEED! Seriously, Jaune, you need proper clothing, a place to live, and food—we have to get the cash somehow!"
"OK, OK, I get it. So, how do we go about it? How much do you know?"
"Enough. This is an open lottery held once a year. It will be held later tonight, which still gives us time to sign up."
"Alright…Lead the way, then?"
Signing up for the lottery was easy; Jaune would admit that much. He and Kyu walked up to the desk, where he was asked to fill in a document with some basic information, and then he wrote down his name on a ball. All the competitors' balls will be mixed in a special container, and whoever has his name extracted will win the money. It was a very simple and straightforward thing. The winner will be decided in less than an hour, so he and Kyu will sit on a bench close to the stage where the container is. There were guards around, though, so he couldn't get close.
Luckily, this is where Kyu's plan comes in.
"OK, since I cannot be seen or heard, I can easily sneak up there. Once I do, I will get inside that container, find the ball with your name, and then nudge it to the hand of the beauty drawing the lots, alright?"
"But how will you find it in there, exactly?" Jaune asked, but Kyu simply shrugged.
"From what we saw, only about 13 more people signed up after us, so there shouldn't be a lot of balls in my way. You just stay here and let me handle it, and be ready to cash in the win."
"Alright…" However, he had to admit that he was a bit uneasy internally. No matter how you look at this situation, this was cheating.—fraud even—and this time, one worth half a million Lien. He doesn't know the law on this island that much, but he doesn't think he will get off as easily as he did in Beacon should they get caught. Jail time was in his books should the people around here smell foul play.
"Alright, going in! Wish me luck!" And so, Kyu flew to the container, entering it through the same hole they threw the ball in. Once inside, Jaune could see her looking around, moving the balls as little as possible. Luckily, she quickly found his ball, turned it around, and let Jaune see his name on the white sphere.
She made herself comfortable inside, but soon, the hosts showed themselves, walking up on the stage. Sign-ups were closed; Jaune knew it. They took a mic and began to speak. "Welcome, people of Bella Dia and from abroad, and welcome to our 22nd edition of the yearly lottery! As some of you know, every year, a lucky soul gets to walk away with a big total of 500K Lien added to their name, IF their ball is extracted from the container! The rules are simple: The balls will be mixed, then extracted, and the lucky man or woman becomes rich! However, I stand to remind you of any foul play! If caught, then ten years of hard labor await you!"
OK, now Jaune was seriously praying Kyu knew what she was doing. Also, what did she mean by mix?
"Now, mix the balls!"
Now he saw what she meant. After they sealed it off, the container began to spin, throwing the balls all around inside it. Poor Kyu was caught and tossed around like a doll inside a washing machine. The balls, luckily, being made of plastic, shouldn't hurt that much, but the entire experience was clearly not sitting well with her. Luckily, it didn't last much, only about a few minutes.
The crowd gathered around was large, everyone there either hoping to get their name called out or spectating. Jaune stood up, looking hopeful as the host went to the container. Kyu looked dazed. However, she managed to hold on to the ball with his name. As she noticed the hand coming, she shook her head and made one gentle push of the ball.
The host grabbed it, and Jaune's breath hitched. Holy shit…
"The winner of this year's extraction is…" Dramatic drums were played in the background. "Wh-...Ummm. It seems we have a small issue. The name on this ball is faded."
"FUCKKKKKK!" Jaune swore internally.
"It says…" The host squinted, trying to make out the name on it. "J-Jane - No, there is a U in there. Jaune…Aro?"
"It's Arc!" Jaune shouted from the audience, getting the host's attention. The host looked better at the ball, then her face brightened.
"That's right! Although somewhat faded, this spells Jaune Arc! Is that your name, young man?"
"Yes, Miss, it is. I am Jaune Arc." Jaune said, confirming his identity.
"Damn it!" Someone shouted from close by, but Jaune ignored them. The host gestured for him to get on the stage with them, which he did, walking up to the woman holding the microphone.
"Show me your ID, boy." She asked, and Jaune pulled out his scroll, showing his ID. She seemed to pull out another scroll from her pocket and type in his name, a scanner going off. He remembered they also scanned his scroll ID at the registration desk, so this must be why. "You are indeed Jaune Arc! Congratulations on winning the Lien!"
From another part of the stage, a man walked up with a large check, the kind he had seen only on TV before. "This man here is Adon Mours, the lawyer handling the money transfer. Anything you wish to ask, you ask him."
"Thanks for the introduction, Honey," the lawyer said, handing Jaune the check. "Smile for the camera, son." Jaune looked ahead, seeing a couple of men with cameras gathering. Well, this was turning out quite well. Kyu also returned to his shoulder.
"Ugh…Never again. I am NOT going through that again." She whined a bit, but Jaune couldn't help but smile overall. It seemed like things were going to be peachy from here on forth.
"Say cheese!" And so, the photo was taken.
In the meantime, back at Beacon Academy, someone was looking through her Scroll to see the news going around Remnant while her team did whatever they wanted. Ruby was studying while her sister occupied the shower, and their last teammate, Blake, read some of her books. Weiss would have studied with Ruby as well, but tonight, she felt she earned a few minutes of lazing about on her scroll.
She didn't like what she saw on the newsfeed. However, standing there on a stage with a half-million Lien check handed to him was a face she never thought she'd see again.
"WHAT?!"
"Alright, Mister Arc. All the money has been successfully transferred into your new account. Here is the card to access it and the security code for it." The lawyer said as he and Jaune talked inside the man's office after the show. The man helped Jaune get the money and a new bank account located here in Bella Dia, showing professionalism throughout his job.
"Thank you once again for your aid, Mister Mours."
"Don't mention it, kiddo! Between you and me, though, I am honestly surprised you pulled a W!" The lawyer said, which confused Jaune a bit. "Don't ask. Lady luck works in mysterious ways. I admit that much."
"Well, a certain lady definitely worked quite a bit for this money!" Kyu commented although the lawyer could not hear her.
"So, I take it you want to settle down on the island?" the lawyer asked, trying to make small talk. Jaune nodded in response, earning a smile from the older man. "Well, I do admit you seem…without a place, if you catch my drift."
Jaune laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, I kinda was before, well, winning."
"Did you really come to Bella Dia hoping to win the lottery, son?" the lawyer asked, earning a nod from Jaune. OK, it was time to lie through his teeth—or, in this case, say half-truths.
"You could say that, I guess. Some things just…happened back in Vale, where I am coming from. Got kicked out of Beacon due to my own mistake, and now-"
The lawyer stood up at his desk, slamming his hands on it. "Beacon?! Jaune, do you happen to have an unlocked aura?!"
"Umm. Yeah? Is that a problem?"
"Yes!" The lawyer said, going into his drawer and pulling out a few bits of paper. "Jaune, look, I like you, so take this as a small favor from me. Aura is not something taken lightly here in Bella Dia. As you might have noticed, the Grimm activity here is low, but we still keep some defensive options, including Huntsmen and Huntresses who have settled here."
"OK, but what does that have to do with aura?"
"Everything, Jaune! Many do not know this, but Grimm ARE attracted by aura as well. Not as much as negativity, but if you were to get a bunch of aura users in one place, you bet Grimm will start to swarm to their location." The lawyer's words eventually settled in Jaune's head, letting the boy figure out what he meant.
"Wait, so you mean that if Bella Dia gets too many aura users on it, then Grimm activity will increase?" Jaune asked, receiving a stern reply.
"Yes! Or at least, that is what is believed! Oh Gods, this is going to take a whole afternoon. Did you not study the island's law before coming here, or was it a spur-of-the-moment decision?" The man asked, but Jaune's silence and awkward shuffling in his seat told him everything he needed to know. "Of course. A desperate boy who gambled and won. Sorry, Jaune, for getting too heated there, but this is no laughing matter. Hope you can understand."
"I do, but I am also worried. Does this mean I have to leave the island?"
"Goodness, no! We would never ask people to leave just because they have an aura. No, it only means we will need to fill out some additional documents; that's all. Some signatures, declarations, and so on and so on. I will send you the fee for my services later, but for now, know that I will handle things for you, Jaune."
"Thank you for your kindness, Sir," Jaune replied, a soft smile coming onto his face as his nerves calmed down.
"Don't mention it. Seriously, don't. Once you see my fee, you will be thankful that you won the lottery. Now, first things first, Jaune, let me tell you some things about the law here on Bella Dia regarding aura. You must complete some documents and update your ID with your aura status and Semblance information. You know what your semblance is, correct?"
"Yes," Jaune replied, the man nodding and noting that down.
"Well, I will need details, but we will do that last. Next, know that laws on Bella Dia can be pretty harsh on Aura users, especially if they get into a fight. Usually, the law protects you if you claim self-defense, which checks out as such, but here, we look a bit deeper regarding aura users. You can fight in self-defense. I am not saying you cannot, but when you do, the law will look at the other guy and the extent of his injuries. Knocking them out is allowed, but if you abuse your power to beat them literally black and blue, you will be in trouble."
"So, basically, I need to be more reactive and defensive if I end up in fights?"
"Exactly. The average folk cannot compare to a Huntsman's physique, nor have the needed strength to break an aura before getting a right hook to their nose. Unless they use weapons, of course, but that is a bit different. The main point is, the less damage you inflict on the other person, the more you have odds of being the one under the protection of the law."
"I see. It sounds a bit complicated, but I think I get it."
"Shees, who knew having that could be this troublesome?" Kyu commented on Jaune's shoulder. She has been letting Jaune talk mostly with the lawyer since she didn't care much for official documents and similar bull.
"Good. On the reverse side of this, if you are the aggressor, know that the sentence can be anywhere from a simple fine of 2000 Lien to 6 months in prison or more, depending on the gravity of the wounds you inflicted on the other guy."
"I-I see…Good to know."
"There is also the issue of your semblance; know that using it is not forbidden, but depending on its nature, you cannot use it to harm another person. The sentence for semblance-based assault and so on starts at 1 Year in prison, so you really do not want that."
"I can imagine. So, what now?"
"I am required by law to inform you of everything you need to know and ensure you sign all needed documents. We will be here for a while. So, before I forget, here is the scroll number of a good real estate agent I know. They will find you a good place within your budget."
"Thanks, Sir."
"No issue. Now, let's begin with the first few laws of the island."
"My hand is numb," Jaune whined as he massaged his wrist. Kyu sat idly on his shoulder and rubbed her forehead.
"My head is killing me. Who knew signing and listening to so much stuff could simultaneously be so boring AND obnoxious? Ugh. I need such a good fuck right now…"
"Is your mind on sex and whatnot all the time?" Jaune asked, doing so aloud. Lucky for him, no one was around. He and Kyu were walking around Bella Dia, yes. Still, the sun had long since set over the horizon, and right now, he was just heading to a hotel to spend the night until tomorrow, when he would meet the real estate agent to see about getting himself a place to stay.
"I mean, that IS what I have to turn you into."
"Wait, what? Turn me into what?" he asked, looking at her.
"Huh? Thought it was obvious, once you put the charm on a lady, you need to fuck her." Kyu stated calmly, but at her words, Jaune nearly panicked.
"Do what?! Kyu! What didn't you tell me this before?!"
"Oh, come on, don't tell me you are gay!"
"What?! No!" He suddenly grabbed her.
"Hey, watch the wings!"
"Kyu, I've never even dated a girl before; how am I supposed to do that?!"
"OK…" Kyu trailed off a bit awkwardly. "We have a problem here, so let me explain myself. First, can you put me back on your shoulder? I'm not comfortable being held like some onahole."
Doing just that, Jaune placed her back, then continued walking, nervously listening to her. "Now, listen, that was pretty much my job, turning virgins into studs. Easy job at times, difficult at other times. However, I proudly state that I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, failed! And you? Please, I had worse cases on my hands before."
"Still, how am I supposed to-...Do that?" Jaune asked again, to which Kyu gave a pretty straight answer.
"First, we get you used to porn in general."
"Kyu…"
"Hey, I am serious! I can tell you do not even watch porn, so I have to educate you from scratch. SOMEHOW! And unfortunately, my size doesn't enable me to use the more…practical means of teaching I provide." She giggled. "So, the manual labor it is! That, and me giving comments to teach you everything you need to know."
"I…You…Do I have a choice?" Jaune asked.
"Jaune, my blond, noodly friend…I went through a hurricane to make you rich, so you better fuck some babes to pay me back!"
"Of course…" He sighed in defeat. Well, one thing was sure: this adventure was bound to be interesting. Looking up at the night sky, he admitted that, at least, Bella Dia, despite the name, had a very beautiful night sky. The stars shined beautifully. It wasn't long after this that they found a hotel, paid for a room to stay in for the week, then went to said room where…Well, Kyu wasted no time finding the porn channels.
That night, Jaune learned and saw things he never thought he'd see. And when it all ended, around 2 in the morning, he just…Laid awake on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. Kyu had long since fallen asleep, dozing off on some towels. Jaune couldn't help but feel like things switched up quickly. Yesterday, he was at the bottom of the bottom. And now? He was on the road to make a comeback. It was not how he had imagined, but a comeback nonetheless.
However, he wonders what is going on at Beacon right now. If he is right, it should be around the morning for them. Oh, who cares right now? Surely, they are fine.
"He won…The fucking lottery…In a tropical paradise?" The one who spoke slowly, trying to process this information, was a tall, somewhat muscular girl with long, rich blonde hair and lilac eyes. However, as she finished processing things, her eyes turned a bright crimson. "How in the almighty fuck did that Fraud get so lucky? Did he cheat again?"
"Doubtful." The one who replied was the same one who saw the news feed yesterday and discussed it with her team at the cafeteria. Shorter, with a slimmer figure and silver-blonde hair that almost matched her fair skin, brought out her icy blue eyes well. "From what I know, Bella Dia takes their security very seriously. Cheating is not possible, so he must have won fair and square…As hard as that is to believe."
"This is…Incredible." The one who spoke now was not a woman but rather a man. Tall, with a toned build, he was wearing a green outfit with black hair that had a magenta streak in the front and pink eyes. His black hair was tied into a long tail behind his back. "Still, and don't mind me asking, why are we discussing the subject? As far as I see it, whatever happens to Jaune now is none of our concerns."
"The fuck it is!" The blonde half-shouted. "That Fraud DOES NOT deserve to get rich! P-money, surely you can say something to make his wealth go away, right?"
"I can't." The one who replied was a tall woman with bright, crimson hair and eyes like emeralds. Her hair was done in a ponytail, and she wore an intricate headpiece to hold her hair in place. "Bella Dia is not a place where Huntsman-related sports are encouraged, so my fame in such places is either very small or nonexistent. They are always refreshing for vacations when I want to escape everything."
"Ummm." The one who shuffled to the right of the blonde was a younger girl with eyes silver like the moon and short, black hair that turned red toward the tips. Interestingly, she wore a red cloak on her back, her accessory. "Why are we talking about Jaune like we want to hurt him?" She asked, getting the attention of the last two on the table.
"Heck no! We won't hurt him!" The one who spoke was a girl almost as short as her but with more muscle, comparable to the blonde. She had ginger hair and blue eyes, yet not icy blue like the platinum-blonde at the table. "Is that right?" She asked, eyeing everyone at the table.
"Hurting him now would constitute a felony." The final one to speak was a tall girl with long, raven hair, amber eyes, and a bow that worked as her accessory. "He is now a civilian in the eyes of the law, so if we attempt anything, we'd be seen as the aggressors and potentially expelled. Though, I do think this discussion degenerates into an unwanted direction. Yang, care to explain why you think that?"
"Think what?" The blonde, now named Yang, replied. "That he shouldn't have gotten rich? Well, I do. Where's his karma? Come on, Weiss, Pyrrha, Ren! Back me up on this!"
"Yang, as much as I agree with you that this outcome is…unpleasant to know, there is nothing we can realistically do." The one named Weiss, the platinum blonde, replied. "He is on the other side of Remnant, and we are stuck here with classes and the duty to graduate as Huntresses."
"I agree with Weiss here," Ren added. "There is nothing we can do, and if anything, the fact he had such luck is something we should be at least relieved about, not wish his new-found fortune to burn away overnight."
"So we are just going to leave him alone?" Yang asked again, looking at the crimson-haired leader of the Team NLN. "Pyrrha, come on, he was YOUR partner. He hurt you the most, so surely you are itching to hurt him-"
"Enough!" The youngest shouted, catching them all off-guard. However, the tears in her eyes caught the blonde's attention the most. "Why do you all have to speak of him like he is some monster? He made a mistake! He was expelled for it! What other punishment do you think he deserves!"
"Ruby…I didn't-"
"Oh, no, you are not pulling out now, Yang!" the ginger said. "The way you spoke portrayed just what Ruby had just said! Who do you think you are, thinking you get a say in his fate now?"
"Nora has a point." The final one stated.
"Thanks, Blake. At least some know a Grimm from a man." Nora added with a clear message attached. "Ugh. I am going to go train at the Gym."
"I am almost done with my-"
"Alone, Ren." Nora swiftly stated. "Or…Ruby, wanna join me?"
"Sure?" The youngest of the group went off with the ginger, exiting the cafeteria.
"Was…Was I going that far?" Yang asked the rest of the group, who all looked uncomfortable. However, Blake was the one who was blunt and said what had to be said.
"Yang, you were calling for a chase without actually saying it. I get it. What Jaune did was not alright…But you overreacted. This strike of fortune that came upon him? Karma, as you put it? What do we know about his personal life? Perhaps his fake documents were his only mistake, and this was his due payment for all the good he ever did."
"Damn…" Yang swore, shrinking down in her seat.
"Still…" Pyrrha began, bringing up the news. "At least we now know where he is."
"Something that is none of our concerns," Ren added. "He is living his own life now. We have no right to butt in just because he got rich irks us. We will do what we can: Be mature. We ignore this and continue with our lives.
