A/N: Hope everyone had a happy new year, and here's another chapter! Just so everyone knows, there will mostly be one Earth visited per chapter, and this one will be a bit close to home! Have fun!
Mia tried to stab Frank with her stump arm, but he batted the limb away, then followed with a punch to her ribs. The deadite snarled, opening her mouth to bite him, causing him to smash his knee into her gut. Mia howled in pain, giving Castle the opportunity to headbutt her chin, finally making her let go.
While Frank fought the deadite, Strange kept ahold of America, as they crashed through several different universes.
An old fashioned world that looked like the 1940s, except there were blimps flying overhead that had the depiction of a skull surrounded by tentacles- the symbol of HYDRA.
The next world looked like a volcanic landscape, with rivers of lava cascading down a slope of black sand.
The third world they crashed through appeared to be a lush rainforest, but on the ground were… dinosaurs?
Strange didn't have time to process what he saw, as one final star portal transported them into what looked like an outdoor courtyard.
Wait… courtyard?
Stephen looked around, seeing the columns, roofs, and doors that looked almost exactly like Kamar-Taj. He glanced at the ground, seeing Frank was slowly getting up, along with Mia's unconscious body. Were they back?
Music: Constantine's TV Theme
"Oi, Strange!"
Stephen whipped his head around, seeing a blonde man in a tan colored trench coat, smoking a cigarette.
"Back already? I thought you and Wanda went to New York- who's the kid?"
Stephen frowned, looking at the odd man.
"Who are you?"
Without missing a beat, the man stamped out his cigarette, walking down the steps.
"Oh, you're from another universe, mate? Name's John Constantine. Exorcist and asshole extraordinaire."
"Doctor Stephen Strange-"
"Oh I know who you are, Stevie." John grinned. "We got one of you here too. Same for Frankie. Those two ladies though…"
"You know me?" Castle frowned in confusion, while America groggily stood up.
"I know a version of you." Constantine corrected. "You guys look the same though, I'll give you that."
"First time." Frank muttered.
"And myself?" Strange raised an eyebrow. "You said Wanda and I were in New York?"
"Sure mate." John shrugged. "Said you were gonna visit this Earth's Frank and his wife."
"Wife?" Frank's eyes widened in hope. "Is… is Maria…"
"Sorry Frankie, your first wife is still dead in this reality. You remarried."
"Remarried." Frank looked down. "To Wanda?"
"Wanda?" John raised an eyebrow. "Fuck no. You married Judge Anderson."
Castle silently nodded. So whatever universe had him and Wanda together wasn't this one. But who was this Judge Anderson?
"You're very… forthcoming with this information." Strange drawled.
"All thanks to this amulet I got from a friend a while back." Constantine smirked, pulling out a pendant from his pocket.
"It's a bit similar to your Eye of Agamotto, being able to see one's true self." John explained. "And that's why I can tell the girl you got on the ground is a deadite."
Strange and Frank looked back at the unconscious Mia, who snapped her eyes open. Almost as if an invisible hand was pushing her up, her body levitated off the ground, until she stood on her own two feet.
"Aw, party pooper!" the deadite shouted, rushing towards Constantine. "You had to go and spoil the surprise!"
John held out his hand, and the woman was frozen in midair, while he muttered an incantation.
"Klipius exorse nacht!"
In an instant, Mia's eyes closed, and she fell to the ground.
"You killed her?" America asked.
"No, she's just asleep." Constantine sighed. "Bloody hell, didn't think I'd ever see a real deadite."
"Wait, you've seen these before?" Frank asked.
"Only in the movies, mate." John shrugged, bending down and checking the young woman's pulse.
"Can she still be helped?" Castle asked hopefully, making America look at him strangely.
"Mister Ca- Frank, she just tried to kill us-"
"But she's still in there." Frank said adamantly. "We gotta get her out."
"Do you really think that, Castle?" Strange raised an eyebrow. "Or is this because Wanda still has partial control of her own body?"
Frank glared at Strange even though deep down… he was right.
Fortunately, Constantine broke the silence, clearing his throat.
"Ahem… what's happening with your Wanda?"
Stephen looked grimly at the man in the trench coat, before sighing.
"The Wanda Maximoff of our world has been possessed by a demon named Chthon." he explained. Constantine's eyes widened in horror, as his cigarette fell out of his mouth.
"Chthon? Blimey, you serious?"
"You know him?" Frank asked.
"It. I know It." John corrected, looking down at Mia's body.
"Bring her inside. I'll tell ya what I know."
Back in their home universe, the moment the star portal closed, Wanda scanned the room, searching for anyone or anything who could help her.
She found it in Wong, who was just stirring from unconsciousness.
"You." she snarled, lifting him up with her magic. "Where did they go?"
"I-I don't know." Wong stammered, as his limbs were forced apart, so his body looked like it was in a Y-shaped pose.
"Bullshit!" Wanda roared, peering in his mind, only to discover…
He speaks the truth, child. Chthon told her.
"Yes." Wanda said in disappointment. "However…"
She extended her arm, and red magic coalesced into the Darkhold.
"He could still be of use."
Constantine led Strange and America into a pristine looking version of the Sorcerer Supreme's chamber, while Frank carried Mia's body behind them.
"You boys drink?" John asked, snapping his fingers and conjuring glasses of whiskey.
"Tea for me." Strange replied coolly, waving his hand. In an instant, one of the shot glasses changed to a teacup.
"And you?" Constantine looked to America.
"Hey, she's a kid." Frank growled.
"I started when I was her age." Constantine shrugged, taking his glass and downing the contents in a single gulp.
"Look, what do you know about Chthon?" Doctor Strange asked impatiently.
"Oh, not much." Constantine scoffed. "Just that it used to be known as the great shadow, or the great darkness. Or, as I came to personally know it, the Rising Darkness."
"So how'd you come across it?" Frank asked in curiosity.
John sighed, pulling out another cigarette, and after lighting it, took a puff.
"About ten years ago, an angel told me that the darkness was rising." Constantine explained. "Now, some friends and I were able to hold it back from consuming the universe, but I knew it would always come back eventually."
"Well he- it- has come back now." Strange sighed, drinking his tea. "Is there anything you can tell us on how to stop it?"
"As in, kill it?" Constantine raised an eyebrow. "No. Not permanently, at least I don't think so. I had to stop it by sealing the crack between this reality and Hell the last time, but I knew it was just a temporary fix."
"So that's it then?" Frank muttered. "There's nothing we can do against this asshole?"
"Not necessarily. But one thing at a time, mate."
John got up, approaching Mia's body.
"Right now, let's try to evict this poor girl's body."
"What are you gonna try to do, an exorcism?" America asked.
"Exactly. But first, I'll need some things."
John pulled a piece of paper out of his coat, handing them to Strange.
"Be a good boy and fetch these for me, will you?"
"I'm not your mailman." Stephen crossed his arms. "Besides, I don't have my sling ring. I'm assuming you know what this is, seeing as you're in Kamar-Taj?"
"You got your fancy cape, don't you?" John smirked, while parting his hands.
"Here, lemme show you how it's done."
Constantine rotated his hands, creating a portal before their very eyes.
"How'd you do that?" Stephen asked, looking down and realizing John wasn't wearing a sling ring.
"I'm something of a petty dabbler in the Dark Arts. My Strange can do it too." Constantine smirked. "I take it you can't?"
"Obviously." Stephen scowled. "We don't have a John Constantine where we're from."
"Well, that's because this universe is somewhat of a special case."
"What's that mean?" Frank asked.
"Well, I'm assuming Thanos snapped away half of all life with the Infinity Stones on yours', right?" John guessed. "Same thing happened here, but relatively at the same time, my original universe was wiped out by what we called the Anti-Monitor. Those two events were enough to cause a second Big Bang, and a bunch of worlds were combined to create this new one."
Strange widened his eyes in surprise, taking a step back.
"How do you know all this?"
"Call it a hunch." John shrugged. "But my Strange and I have had a whole lot of time to look into it. Now, shall we?"
John pointed towards the portal, making Doctor Strange reluctantly step in. Before it closed, he looked back at Frank.
"Keep America safe."
"Yeah." Castle nodded. The portal closed, leaving the Punisher and Chavez with the unconscious Mia.
"What… what if she wakes up?" America asked nervously. Frank sighed, pulling out a pistol and handed it to her.
"Here."
Chavez looked at the weapon, shaking her head.
"I-I don't like guns."
"Yeah." Castle murmured. "You don't gotta use it unless you have to."
"But… I don't like them."
"Why?" Frank asked, out of genuine curiosity. America sighed, looking down.
"We don't have those where I'm from. Or any weapons, for that matter." Chavez explained. "I've never seen these before I started traveling to different universes, and every time they're used… people die."
Frank slowly nodded, understanding where she was coming from.
"Good point. That's a good point."
Castle pointed the gun toward the ground, swallowing hard.
"A gun's just a tool though. It's the person who pulls the trigger that decides the use, because you gotta trust me on this…"
He looked back at America.
"One day, that tool might save your life."
Chavez looked at the gun, which was being held out to her, and gingerly reached out to take it. She held onto it like it was the heaviest thing in the world, and looked up at Frank.
"I… I don't know how to use it."
"It's okay. I'll teach you." Frank mumbled, while looking at Mia.
"But first we gotta wait for Strange to get back."
Stephen exited the portal with Constantine, finding themselves in… an apartment?
"Where are we?" Strange asked in confusion.
"My place." John shrugged, walking over to a kitchen island and grabbing a bottle of Templeton whiskey, snapping his fingers. A shot glass materialized in his hand, and he quickly poured.
"I needed to speak to you alone."
"Why?" Strange inquired.
"Well, if your Frank is like mine, he'll do anything to save his friends and family, right?"
Stephen narrowed his eyes, but nodded.
"I need to make sure you'll do what is necessary if your Wanda tracks you down here."
"You don't have to worry. I'll do what I have to." Strange murmured.
"Good. Because that wanker Chthon can't be reasoned with." John smiled grimly, before downing his shot. "And chances are, he told her how to get here."
"How?" Doctor Strange opened his mouth. "The only way I could was because of America's powers."
Constantine sighed, looking at the bottle.
"That book Chthon wrote- it's still the Darkhold on your Earth, right?"
"It is." Strange tilted his head. "How do you know that?"
"From what I gather, there's a copy in every universe." John explained. "Still haven't found mine, but I've heard stories of what it can do."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning there's a way she'll be able to cross into this universe." Constantine elaborated. "There might be a passage in the book that allows a magic user to possess the body of themselves from an alternate world. The spell is called 'Dreamwalking'."
"So if my Wanda had the Darkhold…" Stephen grimaced. "She could be on her way, or already here."
"Right." John grit his teeth, waving his hand. In an instant, another portal opened up, and he reached in, pulling out a burlap sack.
"Got my things. Let's go back."
Music: "A Cup Of Tea" from Multiverse Of Madness OST
At the same time Constantine was speaking, Wanda was doing exactly that; performing the Dreamwalking ritual inscribed in the Darkhold. After bringing several dozen lit candles forth in a circle, she conjured runes around her and Wong, then proceeded to produce a knife.
"Are you sure?" Wanda asked, eyeing Wong.
Yessss… Chthon spoke, and she could actually hear him chuckling. The ritual requires a sacrifice… to show that you are willing to do whatever it takes to see your boys.
Maximoff's throat went dry, as she stepped towards the sorcerer. Even now, she could hear a voice screaming at her that this was wrong, but… she had to see her boys.
She pushed that voice down further in her mind.
"I'm sorry."
In one swift motion, she sliced open one of Wong's hands, making him grunt in pain. As blood trickled down his palm, she made a similar cut to her own hand, letting the crimson streaks drip onto the runes. The moment the blood touched the floor, the markings lit up as if they were on fire, glowing a dark blood red in the chamber. As the circle completed itself, Wanda rose, crossing her legs in midair, and closed her eyes, looking deep into the multiverse.
Everywhere she looked, it was like spheres of red energy, which depicted images of… herself, but with her sons. Tommy and Billy. The sight made her heartache, wanting nothing more than-
Focus. Find Chavez.
Right. She needed to find the Earth that America, Strange, and Frank went to.
Wanda began to concentrate, shifting her focus away from her variants, and towards America. The scenery quickly shifted, with the orbs of herself vanishing, to emerging dozens of universes, depicting Doctor Strange and Castle, until…
There.
A single sphere blossomed, depicting America in the Kamar Taj chamber, only in a better condition. And right next to her was…
"Frank." Wanda murmured.
Forget him. Chthon's voice rumbled. Focus on your children.
Maximoff felt her head lull, as the imagery shifted, showing a variant of herself and Doctor Strange- the variants native to that Earth.
Found you…
As Wanda's consciousness traveled the multiverse, the variants of herself and Strange flew high above the skyscrapers of New York, meeting a swarm of flying demons.
"What the hell are these things?" Maximoff asked, throwing a crimson fireball at a cluster.
"Gargoyles from a different dimension." Strange grumbled, creating a portal that appeared to lead to a snowy landscape. "They're weak to cold temperatures."
Wanda smirked, as she used her magic to immobilize the creature in a red cocoon, before throwing them through the portal. The demons quickly began to lunge back, but Strange suddenly closed the gate, letting out a deep sigh.
"Thank you." Stephen nodded. "That went quicker than I'd hoped."
Wanda smiled in return, beginning to fly over towards him, when she felt a breeze go past her.
Weird. It wasn't windy outside. And yet…
For some reason, Wanda felt compelled to fly towards a skyscraper, seeing some sort of creature scurry across the glass. As she got closer, the thing seemed to match her movements, its eyes glowing red, to reveal… her?
Before Wanda realized what was happening, the reflection of her lunged through the glass, and she suddenly spasmed in midair, feeling her vision blurring, before turning black.
"Wanda!" Strange yelled, swooping down towards her and steadying her with a magical platform. "What happened?"
Maximoff's eyes snapped open, blazing scarlet, and she fired a sphere of her magic, knocking Stephen away. Not wanting to waste any time, the Scarlet Witch flew past the sorcerer, heading straight for this world's Kamar-Taj.
"What the hell?" Stephen asked in confusion, before taking off after her.
Frank and America sat next to Mia's body, waiting for John and Stephen to return, when the deadite's eyes suddenly opened.
"Where… where am I?" she asked.
"Easy, easy… Frank murmured, looking at her eyes and noticing they were the normal color. "You remember me?"
Mia nodded, slowly sitting up.
"I… I remember seeing you on the road… with that trucker… how did I get here?"
Frank swallowed hard, looking over at America, who shook her head.
"Mia… you killed that guy."
Allen's eyes widened, before pressing her hand to her face.
"Oh god, no… I'll never be free of it."
"It?" Mia shuddered, turning in Frank's direction.
"There was this book… Eric read from it, and he awoke something… evil…"
Castle felt the pit of his stomach knot, but continued to listen.
"When it took control of me, it was like all I could see was darkness, while things… touched me. Hurt me. But I heard whispers that it was called the 'Taker of Souls'." Mia murmured. "I thought I'd be free after what David had to do, but… it's not going to let me go."
Just as she finished, a portal opened up, and Strange and Constantine stepped out.
"Right, we got everything." John announced. "Time to put her back to sleep."
"Wait!" America shouted, as Frank stepped in front of Mia.
"She's still in there, just possessed by the deadite!"
John formed his mouth in a grim line, before reaching into his coat and grabbing the amulet. After a few seconds, he sighed.
"Bollocks. Here I thought her soul still being there was just shite, now I gotta adjust the spell."
"What're you talking about?" Castle asked. "You said you'd exorcize her."
"Yeah, and all that would do is get the demonic spirit out." John explained. Because of the demon possessing the girl, her soul slips in and out of Hell when she's not in control."
"Hell?" Mia gasped. "I was… I was in Hell?"
"Bingo, kid." Constantine nodded. "So once we get the demon out, I'll have to perform a restitution and bring her soul back. Stevie, if you would…"
Strange gave John a dirty look, but with a wave of his hand, golden cuffs materialized, wrapping around Mia's wrists and ankles, before pulling her to the floor.
"Is this necessary?" America asked.
"Unfortunately yes." John told her. "We don't need her deadite self to try and kill us while we're trying to exorcize it, now do we?"
"Do what you have to do." Mia told the demonologist. "I just want this thing out of me!"
"That's the spirit, so to speak." John chuckled. "Now first, we'll need to wake the deadite up, so unfortunately, your soul will be back in limbo."
The girl nodded, as Constantine put his hand over her head.
"I call upon the demon inside this vessel to come forth. Step into the light!" John shouted. "Exorcismus demonto revealee!"
Before everyone's eyes, Mia's skin became paler, and her eyes flashed a deep orange.
"You!" she shouted, seeing the demonologist. "I will swallow your soul, exorcist!"
"Sorry, luv, someone else claimed it first." John grinned, as he began chanting.
"Exorcismus Adenne Socuuse Demontus-"
Constantine suddenly stopped midsentence, raising his hands.
"Blimey, is there a reason the hair on the back of my neck is standing on end?"
Frank looked around, seeing the light underneath the chamber's door begin to glow red.
"She's here." Strange realized.
The door suddenly burst apart, and Wanda stepped through, her eyes glowing red.
"Give me America."
Strange responded by creating magical shields on his hands, while Chavez stood behind Frank. Just as they Wanda was about to attack, John got everyone's attention.
"Oi, can we do this later? I'm a little busy!"
Wanda paused, looking over to the demonologist, and approached the possessed Mia. Holding out her hand, scarlet magic poured out, encasing the girl's body for a few moments.
"You're trying to save her." Maximoff whispered, peering into her mind to see Mia's real soul, fighting for control. The sight made her empathize, thinking about her own predicament- aside from the fact that her demon was helping her.
"I can help you." she decided, turning towards Strange and Frank. "But once she's saved, you will give me Chavez."
Frank opened his mouth to argue, but Constantine cut him off.
"One thing at a time luv. First things first…"
Wanda reluctantly nodded, turning back towards Constantine and Mia, as she mirrored his movements.
"I command the demonic spirit: leave this vessel!" John declared. "Exorcismus demonto infernum!"
Wanda's eyes glowed red, as the demon shrieked.
"You can't save her, exorcist!" Mia cackled, looking from John to Wanda.
"And you… do you believe you're in control?"
Wanda took a step back, feeling her blood chill. She looked over at Frank, who seemed to see right through her. Mia howled in laughter at the sight, trying to break free of her restraints, but Maximoff reinforced them with her red energy.
"I. Am. In. Control." she insisted, her eyes glowing crimson again. At the same time, Constantine began making hand gestures, as runes appeared in midair.
"I command you, leave this vessel!" the demonologist repeated. Mia laughed, spitting in his face.
"You fucking idiot, you have no power over me!"
"Think this is the first time I've fought you deadites?" Constantine smirked.
"Ade Kunda, as the one who named you, I bind you to your rightful place!"
Constantine's voice boomed throughout the apartment, and Mia's body began to float, while her demonic voice shrieked in pain. The unnatural color in her eyes flickered, before a ghastly, transparent doppelganger emerged from her mouth, screaming in anger.
"I thought her spirit would be bound." Strange pointed out.
"Well, I'm assuming the deadite is from another universe…" John shrugged.
"God damn you, exorcist!" the fake-Mia screeched. "I will feast upon your souls!"
"Feast on this!" Wanda shouted, throwing a sphere of her energy at the ghoul. The minute the scarlet energy touched the ghost, it screamed in pain, as crimson flames licked at its transparent form, before dissolving it completely.
"Well… guess you truly are the Scarlet Witch." John murmured, eyeing her cautiously. Mia's body descended to the floor, where she opened her eyes- which were their normal color.
"What happened?"
"You're free." Frank murmured, approaching her. "Wanda and John, they… they exorcised you."
Mia began to whimper in relief, until she saw her stump for a hand.
"My god… David…"
Music: "Gargantos" from Multiverse Of Madness OST
Wanda looked at the woman in pity, kneeling down and grabbing her wrist. She closed her eyes, as scarlet magic seeped from her hand and onto the stump, beginning to coalesce and form five digits. Mia, John, America, and Frank all watched with wide eyes, as the scarlet energy formed a hand, which Mia began to flex.
"I… I…" she whispered. "Thank you."
Mia wrapped Wanda in a hug, who smiled warmly. Like a mother would for her own child…
Wanda's eyes suddenly hardened, as she looked at America.
"I promised I would help you. Now give me Chavez."
Frank sighed, pulling out his pistols, while Strange conjured his shields. Even Constantine lit his hands on fire with his own abilities. Wanda narrowed her eyes, allowing her magic to seep from her palms.
"You promised."
"Oh I never promised anything." John smirked. "I've always got a trick up my sleeve luv."
Maximoff snarled, hurling a ball of energy towards the group. John quickly put up his hands, creating a shield around everyone, but the force knocked him back into a wall, rendering him unconscious. Strange flung a circular construct at the witch, but she dodged easily, before grabbing it in midair and threw it back at the sorcerer. Before it touched him, the circle opened up, wrapping around Stephen and binding him in place.
"Wanda, stop!" Frank shouted, gaining her attention. While she was distracted, Mia blindsided her, punching her in the temple. Wanda staggered back a foot, but when she regained her balance, she glared at Mia in anger.
"You."
Scarlet magic suddenly wrapped around the girl's body, and she was lifted up.
"You filthy ingrate." Maximoff hissed, stepping closer until her hand was just inches from Mia's throat.
"I helped set you free! I gave you your hand back!"
"You're going… to take her…" Mia gasped, feeling her throat constrict. If she could just… reach her…
Allen suddenly felt her hand change, and she looked over to her new limb, seeing it glow red and elongate. Within seconds, it took the form of a chainsaw, which was now running. Without stopping to think, Mia slammed her new arm down, cutting into Wanda and slicing her from the wrist.
"Mia, wait!" Frank yelled, but he was too late. Wanda screamed, staggering away, as Mia yanked the now disembodied hand from her neck.
Wanda… let me heal you… see what they have done to you…
Wanda grit her teeth, looking up at everyone in hate, as her eyes turned black.
"Oh… fuck." Frank murmured.
Chthon grinned evilly, flinging his arm to the side, and Castle and America flew back into a wall. At the same time, Wanda's hand came alive, jamming its nails into Mia's throat, before flying back to its master, fusing back onto the stump with blood red magic.
"And now…" Chthon smirked, grabbing America and twisting his hand. In an instant, the same life force energy from before began to get sucked out of Chavez's body and into the demon's hand.
"You will surrender your power to me!"
America felt her fear rise, her life quickly being drained, as her eyes sparkled blue. Seconds later, a star shaped portal ripped through the empty air, showcasing an alternate universe with a dense forest. At the same time, Constantine's eyes fluttered open. Once he realized what was happening, he jumped up, igniting his hands.
"Strange, get the fuck out of here!" John shouted. "I'll hold her off!"
Strange nodded, as he used magic to break free of his entrapment, while Frank ran full speed towards America, tackling her into the portal. Strange followed shortly after, right before the portal closed up.
"You dare…" Chthon seethed, turning to glare at Constantine.
"You dare defy me, John Constantine?"
"Wouldn't be the first time, wanker." John smirked.
"Last time you had allies. There's no one to help you now."
"He still has one."
Chthon turned around, seeing Mia stand up with a defiant look, the wounds in her neck slowly healing. At the same time, a portal opened up, and Doctor Strange- that universe's Strange- stepped through.
"Sorry I'm late." Stephen told John. "Ran into an old friend on the way here."
"Lemme guess: it was that bastard Mordo?" Constantine inquired, seeing the sorcerer nod.
"Right. Let's kick this asshole back to his own universe."
In their home universe, Wong watched Wanda commune with the Darkhold, sitting cross legged and floating midair. As the book floated up with her, the sorcerer heard footsteps behind him, causing him to turn his head and see…
"Sara." Wong gasped. "You're alive?"
"Yes… but so many others were lost." the woman said sadly, eyeing Wanda. Wong looked down in shame, his eyes, eventually trailing towards the book.
"Set me free. I need to destroy that thing-"
"No!" Sara exclaimed, pulling out a dagger. "It can't be you."
The sorceress proceeded to run towards the Darkhold, ignoring Wong's protests.
"Sara, no!"
Chthon wore a cold smirk, as the two magicians charged, firing magical blasts of various colors at him. Constantine shot flames from his hands; Strange sent constructs of saw blades towards the demon. Constantine conjured icicles from thin air, Strange duplicated all the weapons in the chamber and delivered them to Chthon as a tornado. Even Mia, though having no magical powers, revved the chainsaw attached to her arm and swung at the demon, only to watch it catch the blade with its bare hands.
"Please. I have lived for eons."
Chthon paused, reaching out with his other hand and caught a magical sword that Strange conjured.
"Did you think… you could stop me?"
The demon laughed, sounding akin to broken glass, metal being shredded, and rough sandpaper. Chthon rose into the air, before throwing both Mia and Strange with an immense strength at Constantine, sending them all to crashing to the floor.
"I enjoyed this little bout." Chthon smirked, conjuring black magic from his hands. "But if I am unable to take the child's power… then yours will suffice for now."
Sara jumped up, grabbing the book in midair, and rolled on the ground.
"Sara!" Wong shouted, causing Wanda to open her eyes. Black eyes, that made Wong realize she was possessed by Chthon.
"No…"
The sorceress stabbed the knife through the book, causing a shockwave that made Wanda collapse to the ground. At the same time, Sara screamed, as her flesh, clothes, and her very bones began to melt in a horrifyng manner. She reached out to Wong, but her hands broke away, dissolving into the ground, as she became nothing but a blistering, boiling puddle.
"Sara…" Wong murmured. "I'm sorry."
Just as Chthon was about to decimate his foes, the body of Wanda suddenly fell to the ground, surprising everyone.
"What?" Mia asked in confusion, as Wanda's eyes fluttered open.
"What… how did I get here?"
Constantine narrowed his eyes, before reaching into his coat and pulling out the amulet.
"Alright, it's her." John murmured, seeing her soul was no longer possessed.
"John?" Wanda asked, looking at everyone in front of her. "Stephen? And…"
"Oh, I'm… I'm Mia. I'm… not from around here."
Mia reached out, just as her chainsaw arm reverted to a normal hand.
"Huh. That's a hell of a thing."
A/N: Damn, it was fun to come back to my Vengeance And Punishment universe, even though only three characters appeared. Just so you know, this isn't the last we've seen of these characters.
Speaking of, Mia getting the power up of having a chainsaw arm fused to her is something from the comics. An alternate version of Ash named Ashley K Williams (who is female) has that power to turn her arm into any weapon, including a working chainsaw.
Oh, and I've decided that the chapters will mostly show different worlds from the Evil Dead and Marvel films, while the rest of Sam Raimi's films and possibly animated Marvel projects will be cameo scenes, like that montage of America and Strange falling through the multiverse.
Also, America will get actual training in her powers. Something that bugged me about the film is that America was able to control her abilities with no help at all. All it took was a pep talk from Strange, and that's it. So here, Strange and sometimes Frank will help her out.
That's it for now. Bye everyone!
