Chapter 47: True, Blue Friends
Sora and Beast soon came to a huge foyer. The odd part was there weren't any Heartless.
Beast: Be on your guard, my friend. They're close, I can feel it. Are you ready for them?
Sora moved forward. Suddenly, Beast sensed something. He turned around and saw Belle, in her iconic yellow ballroom gown, right behind him. She then was replaced by a Shadow. In pure rage, Beast rushed at it and the door closed.
Riku: Quit while you can.
Sora: (Seeing his friends) No. Not without Kairi.
Riku: (Changing into his dark uniform) The darkness will destroy you. Your new sword can't protect you.
Sora: You're wrong, Riku. The darkness may destroy my body, but I can't touch my heart. My heart will stay with my friends. It'll never die!
Dolly and the others looked at Sora sadly, thinking about what the right choice is.
Riku: Really… (Firing a Dark Energy Blast) Well, we'll just see about that!
Raising Uramasa, Sora prepared to defend himself. But knowing the right choice, Goofy, Sparky, and Dolly rushed ahead and shielded him.
Goofy: Sora ain't gonna go anywhere!
Dolly: Not while we're backing him up.
Riku: You'd betray your king? (To Dolly) And you'd throw away a chance to go home?
Goofy: Not on your life! But I'm not gonna betray Sora, either, 'cause he's become one of my best buddies after all we've been through together.
Dolly: And maybe I will throw away my chance to find my way home. But I'd rather stand by my friend and keep looking than betray Sora and go home.
Sparky explained that his loyalty belongs to Sora as a friend.
Goofy: See ya later, Donald. Can you and Stone tell the King I'm really sorry?
Donald: Hold on, Goofy! We'll tell him together!
Stone: He's right!
Both Donald and Stone ran back to the others.
Donald: Well, you know… All for one and one for all.
Stone: I'm with you all the way, General.
Goofy: I guess you're stuck with us, Sora.
Dolly: Through thick and thin.
Sora was touched by the loyalty his friends were showing him.
Sora: Thanks a lot, guys.
Riku: How will you fight? That sword has no special powers other than cutting down Heartless.
Sora: I know I don't need the Keyblade or any special weapons to fight. I've got a better weapon: My heart.
Riku scoffed at the claim.
Riku: Your heart? What good will that weak little thing do for you?
Sora: Although my heart may be weak, it's not alone. It's grown with each new experience, and it's found a home with all the friends I've made. I've become a part of their heart just as they're become a part of mine. And if they think of me every now and then… If they don't forget me… Then our hearts will be one. (Standing firm with Uramasa) I don't need any special weapon. My friends are my power!
Then to Riku's surprise, the Keyblade vanished from his hand and returned to Sora and his free hand. In pure frustration, Riku rushed at the group. Clashing Soul Eater with Sora's blades, Sora defended himself and knocked Riku back. Goofy started spinning like a top and repeatedly hit Riku. Dolly rushed at Riku then used her Laser Lamp to summon Simba to help. Riding on his back like a horse, the duo tagged teamed Riku hard and fast. Sparky turned into electricity and bounced onto Riku back and forth. Stone and Donald rushed at Riku and attacked from two sides. Riku tried to defend himself but when he blocked one attack from someone, he was unable to defend himself from the other five. Exhausted and defeated, Riku's clothes changed back to normal and he ran off. Beast arrived, having heard everything.
Beast: So, your heart won the battle.
Sora smiled at him, feeling his heart was stronger than before.
