(Y/N) sat in front of Satoru on the bullet train with Sendai City as their destination. The questions from the sorcerer kept coming, but since there were other people on the train, they couldn't talk openly, making it simple for the barwoman to answer truthfully. But there was a question that the man was itching to ask.

"You have an encrypted file in your computer. What does it contain?"

(Y/N) wasn't expecting that he had snooped through her computer, but then again, it shouldn't be surprising. Although she didn't want to admit it, it looked like Gojo never had completely trusted her. It didn't matter now, anyway. The information she had stored away had no importance now that he knew her true identity.

"It contains things that are important to me. Photos of my parents, a copy of my documents, in case I lose them, and the information I have found till now about my parents' death."

The white-haired man nodded. Once he had access to the file, he could confirm the truth of it. Before that though, he hoped to hear from Masamichi first. Gojo had asked his former sensei to make a background check on the sorceress. There should be a report on why she had been classified as a curse user. If she was telling the truth or not would determine the decision he would make about her destiny.

...

A few hours later they were observing Satoru's student.

'I think his name is Megumi?' (Y/N) remembered vaguely.

Wondering why they stayed hidden, (Y/N) looked at the sorcerer. He looked composed, a ghost of a smile on his lips. She knew that for them to be there, Satoru must be concerned for his student, but he surely wasn't showing it.

'He acts so cold as if nothing would affect him, but it's not true… or is it?'

Wanting to know more about the man, to understand him better, she asked: "Won't you tell your student that we are here?"

With a big smile, Satoru answered her:

"Of course not. Megumi can handle this on his own."

With his short answer, (Y/N) couldn't conclude anything about his motives, the only thing she knew was that the little trust she had gained as Yuna was gone. He wouldn't trust her that easily again, or maybe never. So after a while, they left the teen and checked-in in a hotel.

The next morning, (Y/N) woke up in her bed. Looking around, she saw Satoru in his own bed on the phone. If the man had slept, then he had awoken some time ago, because he was already in his uniform.

"... Ok, thank you again Yaga."

It was strange for the woman to wake up two days in a row with the same man, but the situation this morning was completely different from the previous one. Yesterday, she had woken up in his arms with a crazy woman ringing his doorbell. Today, they didn't even share the same bed, their relationship or whatever they had, was ended.

Still groggy from sleep, she had no control of her thoughts or emotions as she usually has during the day.

'What we had wasn't even real, so get your shit together (Y/N). Maybe this was even for the best. I mean, he hasn't killed me nor handed me to the higher-ups yet. He even took me to help out his student. If I play this right, he might help me.'

After he ended his phone call she said: "Good morning Gojo-san."

With the loss of his trust, she thought it would be better to use his last name again.

"Good morning." Satoru greeted her back. "Go get yourself ready to leave."

...

Contrary to what (Y/N) was expecting, they didn't go to check up on Megumi. They were once again in a cemetery.

"I hope you didn't bring me here to kill and bury me?" She was joking, of course, or at least she hoped so...

Picking up on her relaxed voice, he told her what he was planning. He was curious about her abilities.

"I haven't decided about that yet. For now, I only want to see from up close how you absorb a curse's energy."

Soon, they found a small curse. While (Y/N) absorbed the energy, Satoru watched without his blindfold how the energy was pulled from the curse to the woman's markings which guided it into her body, distributing the cursed energy evenly.

"Interesting." He whispered. While placing his blindfold over his eyes again, he added enthusiastically: "Let's go, there are other things I want to see."

They were now in a clearing, somewhere in a forest.

"You can summon weapons, don't you?"

Once again he pulled off the blindfold, not wanting to miss a thing she did. She looked him in the eyes, his curiosity clearly showing in them. Then, looking away, she focused on molding her curse energy into a pair of sai.

"I don't summon them, I shape my curse energy in the form I want."

Letting go of the weapons, they dissolved in the air. Next, she formed an intricate wood sculpture in her hand. She continued to explain.

"This is my innate technique. It's called molding. I can use my curse energy and mold it into whatever I want. The markings help though. Since I got them it's much easier for me to use this technique. The objects I create can even exist for a while without being connected to me, something that I couldn't do before."

"How many objects can you create at a time, and how big can they be?"

"I don't know. I didn't have much time to train since I got my marks."

With an enthusiastic smile, Satoru said simply: "Then let's find out.

...

Some hours later, (Y/N) was panting. The Jujutsu High sensei made her do many exercises to find out her limits. The last thing she tried was domain expansion. She had read about that subject in the monasterie's library, but she had only tried it once without success.

The first thing she needed was to find the right hand sign to create her own separate space. As she performed a list of signs she remembered, a particular one made her feel different. With her palm facing forward, index and little finger raised, the others folded, she performed the Karana mudra. If she remembered it correctly, this mudra helps expel negative energy.

'Kind of ironic for someone who wields curse energy to use the hand sign to expel negative energy...'

With that hand sign, the ground around (Y/N) began to vibrate, but nothing else happened the first time. With Satoru's insistence, she continued to try to create her domain. Eventually, she managed to create an unfinished domain.

It looked like a rectangular room with white bare walls. (Y/N) felt how her curse energy spread out off her body while trying to feel up the room. If she could manage that, then she could create anything anywhere in her domain...

But it was too much for her. Her unfinished domain collapsed while the woman fell to her knees completely drained of energy.

Satoru stood in front of her, thinking. He had almost rushed over to her to prevent her fall, but remembering how she had lied to him, he stopped himself from doing so. But he had to admit, he was impressed with the improvement she did only that day.

To be able to manifest even an unfinished domain with only a few hours of training was astonishing. Thinking back at the first time he had met her, he wouldn't believe it if he hadn't seen it himself. With her willpower and dedication, she grew beyond what he thought was possible.

'Maybe if she can prove to be really trustworthy, then she could be an asset against the higher-ups. It doesn't look like she is fond of them...'

Squatting down to her, he pulled out the cursed object they found the day before.

"Can you absorb a cursed object?"

"Hum. Haven't tried it yet."

Taking the disgusting-looking finger in her hand, she absorbed a bit of its energy, but soon the flow stopped.

"Well, I think I can only absorb as much..."

Satoru was thinking. Probably (Y/N) could only absorb as much as a curse can too. Since the day before, that horned curse had consumed Sukuna's finger's cursed energy, there was only as much left for the sorceress to absorb.

His train of thought was interrupted with a loud growl. Looking at the source of the sound, he realized that the only meal they had was breakfast and now, the sun was already setting. Stowing away the finger in his pocket, Satoru suggested they go have dinner.

...

Gojo had chosen a simple sushi place where they were eating site by site by the counter. (Y/N) was listening to the sorcerer's rambling, too tired to talk back. But she was happy about that. It almost seemed as if things were back to normal with Satoru. As soon as they would go back to Tokyo she would ask him again about what he remembered about the events of her parents' death. Till then she would do her best not to disappoint him any further.

As they were finishing the dinner, an ominous pressure could be felt not far away. (Y/N) had no doubt that a powerful curse or a group of curses were nearby. Weary, she looked at the man by her side.

"Have you finished eating? Do you want dessert? Well, I want some Kikufuku Mochi, so let's go."

Not knowing exactly what was happening, (Y/N) trailed behind Satoru. She thought he was talking in code or something and was about to go see what was happening, so she was more than surprised when they stepped into this small shop to buy mochi.

"Hum, Gojo-san? Are you sure we shouldn't be somewhere else right now?"

"Why should we be somewhere else? This is the perfect place to be right now. Have you ever tried Kikufuku Mochi? You should try edamame and cream flavor."

Without waiting for her answer he stuffed her mouth with a ball of sticky sweet rice cake. She had to admit this was delicious, but she worried about Megumi.

'There is no way that Satoru doesn't feel the cursed energy in the air. If he isn't worried then it must mean that his student is capable of handling the situation.'

Satoru ended up paying and exited the store while eating a mochi too. Then, the cursed energy increased, turning somehow even more malicious. They looked at each other with serious expressions. Satoru was the first to speak:

"Something has happened. We need to go."

Without any more warning, Satoru held (Y/N) tight to his chest. His embrace took her by surprise and she felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Only when she found herself in a different place some split seconds later did she understand that he had teleported both of them near to where his student was.

They were some meters behind Megumi near a school as it seemed. It was clear that a fight had occurred with all the destruction in the bridge. But there stood only a badly beaten Megumi and a somewhat crazy-looking teen. That teen had black markings on his body, kind of reminding (Y/N) of her own, and he was screaming something about where the women were... Only at a second sight did she realize that the ominous curse energy was coming from him.
