On top of the school building were some strange things happening. Two teens were arguing with one another, while the adults were hidden in the shadows observing.

'Looks like the other boy is cursed and Megumi wants to exorcise him...'

(Y/N) heard Gojo sigh softly next to her before stepping into the moonlight and Megumi's vision. She was the only one to notice his serious expression before he reached his pupil.

"What's the situation?" He asked.

The black-haired boy was surprised to see his sensei there, but Satoru played it off. He made some excuse that the higher-ups had sent him. Then he began to tease the boy because of his beaten up estate.

'Why does he act as if he doesn't care?' Asked (Y/N) herself. 'Is he trying to decide himself or his student?'

As Satoru turned his attention to the other teen, the woman stepped next to Megumi.

"Hey kid, are you okay?"

"What are you doing here?" Many emotions run through the bloodied boy's face, from surprise to concern, to irritation. "Gojo sensei shouldn't have brought you here."

"Don't worry, I'm not a civilian."

His eyes got wide in surprise, but their conversation was interrupted when Satoru tossed his bag with the Kikufuku Mochi to Megumi.

"Hold on to this, will ya?"

There wasn't much time for him to argue because the other boy attacked Gojo. The fight began right after. The boy had some good moves, but Satoru was just too fast for him to even touch the man.

As impressive as the fight was, (Y/N) couldn't overcome how the boy's markings were similar to hers. Although hers weren't black like that, they had a similar pattern.

Itadori launched a powerful attack making (Y/N) step in front of Fushiguro to protect him, but it was unnecessary because Satoru defended his student from the shockwave. (Y/N)'s gesture didn't go unnoticed by him though. As the sorcerer ended his count to 10, Itadori's expression changed, turning softer while the black markings disappeared.

"What a surprise, you really can control it!" Said Satoru with enthusiasm.

After a few more words, Satoru put Itadori to sleep. (Y/N) helped Megumi stand and walk to his sensei.

"What did you do to him?" The boy asked.

As they both spoke, (Y/N) began to understand what had happened.

'That Itadori kid really swallowed that gross-looking finger and turned into Sukuna's vessel.'

"What now?" She asked, getting an intense look from Gojo (or at least that's what she thought it was because with his blindfold it was difficult to tell). She heard that he wanted to help Itadori, but could he? That would be a decision for the higher-ups to make. How much could he influence them? Her thoughts were interrupted by him talking.

"I need to bring this kid into a safe location just in case Sukuna takes over once he wakes up. You can get Megumi to the hospital and wait with him till I finish with Itadori."

Although he didn't say, she could hear it in his voice "don't you dare to run away". She wouldn't of course. She still didn't get what she was after.

"There are two more people who need to be taken to the hospital." Added Megumi while holding to (Y/N) for support.

The next morning (Y/N) was waking up with a stiff neck and back on a hospital chair. After Megumi and the other teens had been admitted, she didn't know where else to go, so she stayed there. Stretching her limbs, she went to the coffee machine.

Gojo just showed up a few minutes ago and had seen her getting up, so he sneaked up at her and talked into her ear. "Have you slept well?"

With a scare, she spilled some of her coffee over the man, but the hot liquid never touched him, going instead to the ground. She looked in awe at the stain on the ground before enquiring:

"What just happened?"

"Oh, that? It's just my infinity protection."

With a finger, (Y/N) tried to touch Satoru's chest, but stopped a small distance away.

He continued. "See? I can manipulate space so there is an infinity around me which protects me."

She poked at the air in front of his chest a few more times before remembering they were in a hospital and there was coffee on the ground because of her...

"I should clean this up..."

When (Y/N) got to finally drink her coffee, it was almost cold. But she still yearned for caffeine and didn't want to spend more money, so she drank it anyway while making an unhappy face. Satoru was sitting on the other side of the corridor while they waited for Megumi to be discharged.

She wanted to talk to him, to apologize to him for lying. She hadn't done it before because it would sound feigned. But now that he had trusted her to help his student to the hospital, she felt as if it wouldn't fall on deaf ears.

She stood up and tossed away the cup from the coffee, taking that opportunity to sit next to the man.

"I never got to apologize for lying to you. I'm sorry. I should have thought about a different approach."

Satoru was silent for a moment, his arms and legs crossed. He wasn't really mad at (Y/N) to lie to him. She had been clever to hide her true identity, considering she didn't know how he would react to her being a curs user. No, he was mad at himself for not recognizing her, for having fallen for her tricks and lies. He thought he would be better than that.

'How did she manage to manipulate me like that?'

He had already asked himself that question many times, but still got no answer. But something was clear to him now. With her talents correctly trained, she would be an asset to him.

He pretended to find out who was responsible for her parents' death, then she would owe him. That's why he had decided after taking care of Itadori, he would begin to dig around. But she didn't have to know about it for now. It was fun to have her in his hands. It helped atone the frustration he felt for himself.

'Am I petty for that? ... Maybe.'

"I think you are more sorry for me to have found out than anything else." He replied to her.

"No, it's not like that." She sighed.

'Of course he would think something like that.'

She wanted to say that when they first met, so many years ago, she thought of him as a snob, a completely coldhearted person without any consideration for anyone. But as she got to know him better, she saw how caring he could be, how fun it was to be around him... She began to believe that what they had was real. So when Gojo found out about her, she felt as if she had really betrayed him.

Before she could say anything more, Megumi showed up all patched up.

"Can we please leave? I hate hospitals."

.

(Y/N) spent the rest of the morning with the grumpy teen while Satoru was with Itadori. Megumi was still intrigued by her presence, so he asked her:

"So that moron was right? You really are a sorceress?"

"Moron? Didn't know that's what you call your sensei nowadays."

The teen gave her a side glance, but she saw his lips tremble up lightly.

"How can you suppress your cursed energy like that, that even Gojo sensei can't detect it?"

"So many questions... If you really want to know, I would have to kill you afterward."

Megumi suspected he wouldn't get anything out of that woman if she didn't want to tell him, so he picked up on her amused tone to let her know he was okay with it. :

"Please don't. It hasn't been that long since someone tried to kill me, and I preferred not to go through it again so soon."

But he still wondered: 'Is she Gojo sensei's girlfriend now?'

.

They eventually reached the crematorium where Gojo should hopefully be done talking to Itadory. (Y/N) wasn't sure what the higher-ups had decided on his fate, but if he was still alive, then it couldn't be so bad, could it?

"We goin' somewhere?" She heard Itadori ask.

"Tokyo." Said an unamused Megumi.

"Fushiguro, you're looking good."

(Y/N) had to hide her smile when she saw Megumi's deadpan expression, while Satoru smiled openly, but he wasn't looking at the boys, he was looking at (Y/N)...

Sorry for the short chapter. I have been working my a** off because two of my coworkers are on vacation, so I have been too tired to write, but I really wanted to update this story. I hope it wasn't a boring chapter... I know where I want their relationship to go, but until then, they have some issues to resolve.

So, now I go to sleep because although tomorrow is Saturday, I have to work. Good night 😘
