'He's attacking from the right. Upwards cut now. Feet sweep next. Can I jump into his attack?'

(Y/N) was entirely focused on Nanami's movements. The sorcerer used a series of attacks with his wrapped-up shortsword before trying to sweep her feet. He probably expected her to step back or evade with a simple jump, never thinking she would jump to the front to tackle him down. He barely evaded her attack before charging again while the woman was still in the air.

(Y/N) had planned ahead, knowing the blond would probably evade. She couldn't do much while in the air, but she had learned to incorporate her curse technique in the fight. She molded her cursed energy into a metal plate on the side where her opponent had sidestepped, defending the incoming attack.

The impact sent a vibration through Kento's right arm, the sensation made him loosen the grip on his sword.

As soon as (Y/N)'s feet touched the ground, she forced her body back up, pressing the metal plate she conjured into the man.

Twisting herself around, she pushed his right arm to the side, leaving the sorcerer's chest wide open.

She dispelled her weapon and hit the man's chest with her bare hand so she wouldn't injure him.

With the force of the impact, he involuntarily made some steps back. Struggling to breathe, he lifted his hands in surrender.

"I think you won this one (Y/N)-san."

She gave him a satisfied smile. They had been training together for some weeks now. In the beginning, they didn't spare. They had begun with endurance and resistance training.

Apparently, Nanami had been absent from the sorcery world for a while and needed to get back in form. Gojo had kindly pointed out how his friend was out of shape.

Talking about Gojo, he would show up from time to time to see how both of them were progressing, giving sometimes useful tips, but most of the time just babbling nonsense if not even mocking them.

(Y/N) never got the chance to talk to him alone about what she had done the night he came to see her, but she was too scared to do so anyway. Since Gojo has not talked about it, she had decided to do the same and see what would happen.

"It's almost scary how fast you progress (Y/N)-san." Nanami praised.

"Thank you, but if I can improve that much it's because of your help."

The man made a dismissive hand sign as he grabbed a towel and his water bottle.

The woman kept her gaze on him, still not used to seeing the ex-salaryman in sports clothes. He had taken off his glasses, the tips of his hair had some sweat drops that dripped onto towel he had put on his neck as he was drinking. He gulped down the water with such ferocity that some drops escaped his mouth and ran down his throat vanishing under his shirt.

Somehow (Y/N) became very thirsty herself and reached for her own water bottle before she felt more than her face heat up.

"Don't you have any shame Nanami?" The new voice behind her made her almost jump in surprise.

Kento let out a sigh. "I'm almost sure I will regret asking, but what do you mean, Gojo?"

"You know what I mean, teasing poor (Y/N) like that. Just look how she is blushing."

The said woman was about to argue, but Nanami beat her first.

"Unlike you, we were training, so it's only natural for her to be flushed."

(Y/N) could swear the blond's eyes got darker with a hint of wickedness before continuing.

"Or is that all jealousy for me to get so well along with (Y/N)?"

"Oh, pff. As if I would be jealous of you. But I have to separate you two."

"What do you mean?" Asked (Y/N)

"We have a mission."

"We two? Why? Why me?"

"Principal Yaga apparently expects you to contribute to this mission as thanks for him to let you enter the school grounds. But as you're a curse user, he wants me to make sure you stay in line."

Gojo's underline tone somehow made her feel that he wasn't happy about that, but if she needed to do this mission, then she would. Who knows, maybe afterward she would get the information she wanted from the white-haired man.

"Okay, when do we go?"

"Later tonight. The best thing is you pack for a week."

Both men saw her leave before Satoru turned to his friend.

"How is training going?"

"Good. I think if we keep with our rhythm, in a week or two she would catch up to me."

"She has improved that fast, huh?"

"Yes, so make sure you don't screw things up with her if you want her support."

"Come on, why do you think I would screw things up?"

Kento gave Satoru a knowing look before hiding his eyes under his glasses.

"Body language is hard to hide. From the times I saw you two, I can tell something has happened. But you are a grown-up man, so you can take care of your own problems."

The lack of a remark from the infinite user told him he was right, but he wouldn't push on the matter anymore. As he had said, Gojo could take care of his problems.

"Is there something more you need me for?"

"Yes, I would like for you to take care of Yuji while I'm gone..."

...

It was already night when (Y/N) was getting impatient waiting for Gojo. She didn't know where their mission would be, nor for what weather she should pack. In the end, she had packed most of her clothes in her usual backpack and waited for the sorcerer.

"How much longer am I supposed to wait..."

A while later, her doorbell rang.

"Finally."

Walking to her door she took her backpack with her.

"Ready to go?" Asked Gojo as soon as she opened the door.

"More than ready."

Ijichi drove them to the airport.

"Where are we going?"

"Zurich."

"In Switzerland?"

"Exactly."

Just thinking about how long the flight would be, she got desperate. To be so many hours seated next to Gojo without any possibility to escape him... 'Oh boy...'

"And what is this mission about?"

"Some women have gone missing in a club. There were traces of cursed energy. We assume it's a curse user who may use his technique to kidnap them."

"Let me guess. I will by the bait?"

Satoru's smile got evel.

"Good guess. But don't worry, I will keep an eye on you."

"Oh please, I'm not worried. I know you can't keep your eyes off me."

As his laughter boomed, she just gave herself an imaginary facepalm.

'Why do I have always the need to provoke him?'

"You're awful cocky, aren't you."

"Prove me wrong then."

With that she turned her attention out of the window, uncrossing her legs to cross the opposite one on top while crossing her arms too, signaling him she was done with talking.

He hated to be proven wrong. He wanted to look away, but he just couldn't take his gaze from her as she shifted her position.

'This will be a long flight.'

Hi, my dear readers. This chapter is a bit short, but I wanted to update this before I begin to pack. End of this month I'm leaving Switzerland to go back to my homeland, Portugal. I don't know if I will have time to write in the next weeks, it will depend on how packing goes...

Wish you all a good week. Bye 😘
