A/N: so having William Clayton and William Dey I here might get confusing so I'll be calling William Dey 'Dey' and William Clayton 'Will' if there are any scenes with them together.
Chapter Summary: Kara spends some time with Astra. William Dey gets his first assignment by interviewing Oliver on reopening his father's company.
Kara rolled over reaching for her husband but only found her daughter, her eyes opened confused of how and when Astra got into bed with her, she sat up seeing a note on the night stand she grabbed it.
Good morning! Had an early meeting today. Astra was having a nightmare while I was getting ready so just laid her down with you after getting her to calm down. Call me later?
— Oliver
Kara sighed and sat the note back down, she looked over at her daughter who slept peacefully. Kara softly ran a hand through Astra's hair.
Kara slowly got out of bed careful not to wake Astra, then morning sickness hit her and she rushed to the bathroom throwing up.
"Mama?" Came Astra's small sleeping voice. Astra climbed out of bed and made her eye to the bathroom. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine baby," Kara said softly while her head was in the toilet.
"Is it the baby?"
"No sweetheart," Kara sat on her knees, "Sort of...the baby is causing me the throw up."
"Why?"
"I don't know," Kara replied. "How about I brush my teeth and we make breakfast," Kara stood up slowly.
Astra nodded and watched her mother carefully as she brushed her teeth, Astras eyes traveled down to Kara's stomach that was exposed because Kara's shirt didn't fully cover the bump. Her eyes landed on the scar.
"What's that mama?" Astra asked her hand grazing the scar.
"Mon-El," Kara said, her voice laced with desperation.
"Mon-El," Alex stepped forward, gun drawn and aimed at the man she once considered a friend. "Let my sister go!"
"Damn it," Mon-El muttered, momentarily pulling his hand away from Kara's stomach as if he might relent. But before anyone could react, he thrust the blade downward, piercing her skin.
In an instant, it all became a blur: Oliver's arrow struck Mon-El in the shoulder, while Dean's found its mark at the back of his knee.
With a cry of pain, Mon-El dropped the blade and pushed Kara away from him, collapsing to the ground.
Kara stepped back away from her daughter, what she thought was a small prick in her stomach was actually a bigger injury, something that she didn't want anyone to know about besides Alex who was her doctor. The yellow sun couldn't heal that wound so it was now a scar.
A reminder of how she begged her ex-boyfriend for her unborn child's life. Oliver had no idea of this scar, she wouldn't allow him to see her unclothe which was normal when she was pregnant so Oliver never tried to argue with her not wanting her to feel uncomfortable.
"Mama?"
"I'm fine baby," Kara pulled down her shirt. "It's just a little scratch I got since I don't have my powers right now."
Astra nodded.
It was around noon and Oliver was regretting reopening his family's company, the company hadn't even been officially announced yet and he already had meetings left and right.
"Mr. Queen," Helena entered Oliver's office. "There's a reporter here for you."
"A reporter?" Oliver's ears perked up hoping the reporter would be Kara. "Send them in."
Oliver's disappointment came when it wasn't Kara but William Dey, they haven't met but his older son mentioned the new reporter and how the guy obviously had a thing for Kara.
"Mr. Queen," William Dey smiled at the man as Oliver stood up, "It's a pleasure to meet you," Dey held out his hand for Oliver to shake.
Oliver nodded shaking his hand. "William Dey, I presume."
"You've heard of me?"
"My son mentioned that you might have a crush on my wife."
Dey eyes widened with a small blush of embarrassment at Oliver's words. "Well I believe you've seen your wife."
"I have," Oliver nodded the coldness in his voice got colder. "I'd rather not have you see my wife, otherwise I'll have to bring out my other side."
Dey cleared his throat shifting on his feet uncomfortable pulling his hand out of Oliver's tight grip.
"Have a seat," Oliver told the reporter as he sat back down in his chair.
Back with at the Queen household; Kara was spending the day with all of the kids, she was still helping William with his report giving him more intel on what she does at CatCo, Astra attached herself to Kara's side all day, Tommy sat on his play mat playing with Evelyn, and Mia sat on the couch scrolling through her phone scoffing at the stuff that some people were saying about Kara as Supergirl.
"Can you believe this?" Mia showed her phone to Evelyn.
"They're just nosy people who like to hate on those who actually help this world," Evelyn told her sister. "Ignore them."
"Mama," Tommy crawled away from Evelyn and his toys and over to Kara, "Potty."
Kara's head turned away from William towards Tommy, they had been trying to potty train the toddler for some time now it hadn't been any luck until now.
"You have to potty?" Tommy nodded at his mothers question, Kara stood up picking Tommy up and caring him towards the bathroom where his Spider-Man pot sat, she didn't need her super hearing to hear Astras little feet following them.
Kara helped Tommy on the pot, "I'll be right outside the door shout if you need me," Kara told Tommy who nodded.
Kara walked back outside the bathroom shutting the door slightly, Astra leaned against the wall. "Astra? Is there a reason you're following me around?"
"Is it wrong...?" Astra asked instead of answering Kara's question.
"Is what wrong?" Kara squatted down to Astras level.
"That I miss him..."
"Miss who?"
"Him...Mon-El...is it wrong that I miss him?"
"Oh sweetheart," Kara said realizing what Astra was talking about. "It's not wrong that you miss him," she pulled her daughter into a hug.
"It's not?"
"No," Kara shook her head as the pulled out the hug, seeing tears in her daughter's eyes. "It's not wrong, you spent some time with him and got attached, it's alright."
"Can we visit him?" Kara froze at Astras question.
"Let's talk with Oliver about it first," Kara hadn't stepped foot in the DEO since they had brought Astra home, she hadn't known what Oliver and Sara had did and she didn't care what happened with Mon-El.
"Last question," Dey said looking down at his note pad. "Will you continue to be Green Arrow since Supergirl is out of commission?"
"How is this related to my company?" Oliver raised an eyebrow.
"It's...not."
"Exactly," Oliver nodded. "Then I won't answer it."
