Summary: What if the pilot episode went a whole separate way? Will a baby make the bond between the brothers stronger or break them apart? Starts at the pilot episode with that dialogue but veers into an AU within the episode and after with original dialogue included. Some tags to look out for are brotherly bonding, brotherly love, a fertility goddess, fights, and male pregnancy (Dean). Hope you enjoy and review!
Disclaimer: Supernatural and all its characters belong to Eric Kripke. I only own the baby which will either be an original male or female character.
Chapter 1: Pilot
Dean's POV
I stood by the window for two to three hours wondering if I should take Sam away from his life at Stanford whether it be permanently or temporarily. I wondered how he would react to seeing me after not having contact for a year and a half or more. What would he say? I do not know but I guess I'll find out if I can just work up the nerve to just go inside. After some serious contemplation I don't go to the front door and knock but instead I decide to go through the window I am leaning up against on the lower level.
As soon as I land hard on the floor and began to walk around, I hear footsteps which I assume are Sam's. Suddenly I was grabbed by the shoulder, and we began to wrestle all the way into another room. At one point he aims for my stomach which I immediately block without hesitation. Despite the state I am in I managed to knock him down and pin him to the floor where we got our first, not first but you know what I mean, good look at each other.
"Whoa, easy, tiger."
Despite being out of breath, he said in surprise and bewilderment, "Dean?"
I laugh and nod my head that it's me slightly.
"You scared the crap out of me!"
"That's cause you're out of practice." I responded as I was getting up to my feet but not before Sam grabbed my hand and yanks, slamming his heel into my back knocking me to the floor as well. I made to land on my back instead of my stomach to protect what was in me as odd as that sounds.
"Or not. Get off of me."
Sam gets up to his feet and helps me up. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Well, I was looking for a beer." I said jokingly knowing I cannot have one for the next eight months. I put my hands on his shoulders and shake once before letting go.
Sam gets more aggravated and repeats himself. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Okay. All right. We got to talk."
"Uh, the phone?"
"If I'd'a called, would you have of picked up?"
A lady wearing a cropped Smurfs shirt, and some very short shorts turns the light on.
"Sam?"
Sam and I both turned to her in unison.
"Jess. Hey. Dean, this is my girlfriend, Jessica."
I look at her appreciatively, not saying anything yet.
Jess smiles before responding. "Wait, your brother Dean?"
Sam nods as I step up to move closer to Jessica.
"Oh, I love the Smurfs. You know, I gotta tell you. You are completely out of my brother's league."
Vexed by my bluntness, she instead says, "Just let me put something on."
She turns to go but my voice stops her.
"No, no, no. I wouldn't dream of it. Seriously," I responded walking back over to Sam without taking my eyes from Jessica. "Anyway, I gotta borrow your boyfriend here, talk about some private family business. But, uh, nice meeting you."
Sam walks over to Jess and puts his arms around her possessively. "No, whatever you want to say, you can say it in front of her."
I duck my head before looking up at them straight on and then just Sam. "Okay. Um. Dad hasn't been home in a few days."
"So, he's working overtime on a Miller Time Shift. He'll stumble back in sooner or later."
"Dad's on a hunting trip. And he hasn't been home in a few days."
I wait for that to register and when it does, he turns to Jessica.
"Jess, excuse us. We have to go outside."
Sam and I headed out of the apartment. He changed into some jeans and a hoodie.
"I mean, come on. You can't just break in, middle of the night, and expect me to hit the road with you." he began.
I was beginning to lose my patience with him. He was the last person I needed stress from. I told a white lie just so I could get help with the strange situation I found myself in. I also wanted to have at least a piece of the family back together again even if it was only the two of us for now. A case went wrong and there was a goddess of fertility who used voodoo on me and now I am stuck with a baby I never wanted but now I do want it, and I don't know what to do.
"You're not hearing me, Sammy. Dad's missing. I need you to help me find him."
Sam lowers his voice just a little, cautious of who might be listening. "You remember that poltergeist in Amherst? Or the devil's gates in Clifton? He was missing then, too. He's always missing, and he's always fine."
At that, I turn around and Sam stops too. "Not for this long. Now are you going to come with me or not?"
"I'm not."
I combed my hand through my hair and ran it down my face in frustration. "Why not?"
"I swore I was done hunting. For good."
"What if I told you dad is not actually missing? That he left me when a hunt went wrong, and I do not know where he is now? That I lied because I need your help with it because it left me in a strange predicament?"
"I don't care! Get lost. I have a law school interview on Monday. It's my whole future on a plate."
"Okay Sammy," I respond sadly as I put my hands in my pockets turning around to head down the rest of the steps.
"Dean, what do you mean strange?" he asks, and I turn around slightly.
"Don't worry about it. It's not your problem. I'll handle it on my own."
"Dean, what happened?"
"So now you care?" I asked not masking the hurt in my tone as I turn around fully with unshed tears.
"You're my brother. Of course I care."
"The goddess of fertility put a voodoo spell on me and now I'm pregnant and I don't know what to do!"
Sam doubled over in laughter, and I made the gesture as if to say I knew that was going to happen and once he sees I'm not laughing he calms himself down enough to talk.
"Wait, you're serious?" he asked and waits for me to nod. "That is not normal. I'm not going to judge but who is the other parent?"
"When has anything ever been normal in our line of work? Answer me that."
"Touche. How is that possible?"
"I don't know but Bobby and a supernatural doctor confirmed it, and I think that the fertility goddess who did this to me I think she could be the other parent. Weird thing is I have not had sex with anyone the past few months before or after it happened."
Sam just nods before speaking, "Okay I'll go with you on one hunt but after that I have my interview that I want to be back for on Monday then we'll take it from there. Just let me say bye to Jess."
"I can do that. Thank you Sammy."
