Chapter 3: Woman in White Part 1
It's morning by time Sam, Jessica, and Dean stop at a gas station and park in front of a pump. Dean wasn't so keen in allowing Jessica to come on the road with them for fear of putting her in danger at first until he warmed up to her while getting to know her on the long drive to their next case in Jericho. He could see why Sam liked her since he was beginning to like her too. His first impression of her was that she was imperfect but likeable and determined and he really liked that.
He came back to the car with a bunch of every kind of junk food and drinks not knowing what kind they would want with ginger ale and crackers for himself. He took his stuff out before he knocked on the back door of the impala and woke Jessica who had fallen asleep.
"I didn't know what you two wanted so I picked up a little of everything," he said to them both as he watched his brother go through his cassette tapes. "Do you want breakfast?"
Sam leans out of the car and looks at him. "No, thanks. Dude, just how far along are you?"
Jessica touches Sam's arm. "Be nice!" She then gets out of the car and takes the bag from Dean. "I would love some... breakfast, Dean. We'll split what's in here."
"Thanks Jess," he said with a boyish grin before turning to his brother holding up the crackers and ginger ale. "Six weeks and those weren't all for me. These were for me since it is the only thing I can keep down."
"Oh, I'm sorry man," he responded as he grimaced. "So how'd you pay for that stuff? You and Dad still running credit card scams?"
"Yeah, well, hunting ain't exactly a pro ball career." he responded after putting the nozzle back on the pump. "Besides, all we do is apply. It's not our fault they send us the cards."
"What? Credit card scams? Why aren't you using your real names?"
"Long story for another time, sweetheart," he said as he got into the driver's seat and began to open his crackers to eat one.
"Don't call me that!"
"What about baby girl?"
She takes another bite of her Doritos as she begins to nod. "I like it."
"Baby girl it is then."
"Hey! You don't allow me to call you nicknames yet you allow my brother to."
"What can I say?" she said as she wrapped her arms around Dean's neck from the back seat and winked at him to play along. "He is the more handsome one."
"Yeah, and we would get married and have two kids named Samantha and Samuel Junior." he played back winking at her.
Sam made his face stoic and turned his eyes to the window until he heard laughter from his brother and girlfriend.
"I think we hurt his feelings," Dean said in a faint voice after he and Jessica stopped laughing. "Think we should stop playing him?"
Sam does not hear her response but feels her turn his face by the chin and kiss him in between each word. "I'm just kidding. You are always going to be my one and only."
At that he kissed her back until it grew. She opened herself to him and let him explore her mouth leaving no part untouched.
"Okay, that's enough. You want to do all that around me then get a room!"
"We will and it will be right next to yours," she finally said once Sam pulled away looking at Sam but talking to Dean with mischievousness still in her eyes from the moment. "Right Sam?"
"Right Jess-"
At Sam's sudden alarmed look, she turned to Dean who was breathing shallowly and looking green as he held his stomach. He hurriedly tried to get the handle to the car open to throw up but was unsuccessful. Jessica hurried from the back seat, getting out and opened the door to the driver's side. Sam caught him so he would not land in his own vomit due to the abrupt opening of the door. Jessica began to rub his back as he threw up. He sat inside the car as Sam let him go, letting his breathing return to normal as he closed his eyes.
"We're sorry," Jessica told him as her and Sam watched him carefully. "That won't happen again."
"No, no, no baby girl. That was my fault and those crackers that I was eating," Dean said as he looked to Jessica after opening his eyes then to Sam. "I'm sorry man."
"That's okay. If Jess is okay with you calling her that, I'm okay with it. Let me drive us the rest of the way."
"You have another thing coming if you think I'm going to let you drive my car!"
"Don't fight me on this. You need the rest especially if you want a healthy...baby-"
"Fine," Dean said starting to get out to go to the passenger side as Jessica immediately began to help him. "If I see even one dent, you're not driving my baby anymore."
"Yeah, we'll see," Sam responded knowing it would change in the next eight months.
Dean gave him the death glare and Sam put his hands up in surrender. He then began to rub the front/hood of the impala and began talking to it. "Don't you worry Baby. As soon as I'm in tip top shape I'll be driving you from now on."
Jessica couldn't help it. She covered her mouth as she started to laugh but Dean heard her laugh anyway and he just grinned not saying anything. She let him collapse into the passenger seat and got into the backseat.
"Let's hear it," Dean said as he reclined back closing his eyes. "What else you want to know?"
"What names did you put on the application this time?"
"Uh, Burt Aframian. And his son Hector. Scored two cards out of the deal."
"That sounds about right."
"What about me, huh? Do I get a different name?"
The brothers immediately turn to her and say in unison, "No!"
"No need to shoot off my tail!" Jessica said, sounding annoyed. "What can I do then other than be useless?"
"Research for us. We're going to drop you off at our surrogate uncle's house. His name is Bobby Singer. He staffs the phones for people that don't think we're legit."
"No Dean. She is coming along whether you like it or not! You're the one that's staying behind!"
"Why?"
"You are pregnant, that's why!"
The car was silent for a while as it drove along the highway until Dean asked in a small voice, "You think I'm an invalid?"
Sam knew he was treading on eggshells, but his mouth kept going. "Goddammit Dean. That's not what this is about, and you know it!"
"Answer the question then."
"Sam, you better think about your answer before giving him one!" Jessica shouted, trying to be the mediator, but Sam had already answered.
"Well sure if that's what you want to think!"
Dead silence hit the car once the words hit the air. Jessica was even shocked at how hurtful her boyfriend was being. She looked over to Dean whose face had fallen as he stared at Sam wordlessly and he looked about ten seconds from breaking down crying. She then looked over at Sam who looked sorry.
Instead of breaking down, Dean made to make his face cold looking, but he failed since his face fell even more. He turned around and tried the door handle, but it was locked since the car was moving.
"Unlock the door now Samm-Sam. Go solve the case with your girlfriend and not your own brother. See if I care! Let me out now."
"Dean, I didn't mean-"
"Yes, you did. Let me out Sam. I'll walk the rest of the way to Bobby's."
Sam stops once they get off the highway and lets him out and he stumbles from the car on unsteady legs. He begins to walk away.
"You better be glad it wasn't me in his same situation," Jessica said not able to be quiet any longer as she went to get out to go after her boyfriend's brother. "I would have told you off. I'm not going with you while you're like this. You can go by yourself or with Dean whether you like it or not. It's your choice."
She then got out and ran to catch up with Dean and maybe cheer him up for the time being.
