Chapter 13: Found Part 1
"Wake up Jess," Sam said as he shook her shoulder. "We have to hurry and find my brother before he does something stupid."
Jessica got up and yawned stretching her arms over her head. "We should take a shower...I mean we will be riding with Marvin to find him. Don't you think-"
"There's no time!" Sam snapped, losing patience but immediately felt sorry when she looked away. "I am sorry. Can we go now?"
Jessica gave him a pointed look and said, "Sure you are. Let's just go."
Jessica pulled on her jeans since that was all she slept without while Sam put back on his shirt and pants and then they went to knock on Marvin's door. He opened the door immediately already ready for today and took in their appearances. He walked past them and got a whiff of Sam. He turned his nose up but was too nice since he did not comment but instead put the window down on the driver's side where he was once they followed him to the car and got in.
A few minutes into the drive Sam jumped up from looking out the window as an idea came to him. "Why didn't I think of that before? I know where he is."
Jessica leaned forward from her spot in the backseat. "You do? Where?"
"He's either with Bobby or Jo."
Suddenly his phone ring in his pocket and he got it out of his pocket but before he said anything it was Bobby's voice that came on the line."
"Get yer ass over here and get your brother. He will not eat, and he when he sleeps, he has nightmares. I saw him take something earlier today and when I looked to see what it was when he wasn't looking, I found out it was prenatal vitamins and nausea medicine. You got some explaining to do boy."
"It's a long story Bobby for another day. Short story is he is having a baby, and we fought and it's my fault he is being like that now. Has he had anything alcoholic since coming there?"
"That is freaking impossible, but it explains why he turned down a beer. Not as far as I can tell."
Sam closed his eyes and took a deep breath before answering again. "That is good Bobby. Make him eat something even if you have to feed him yourself. We're on our way in about..." He looks down at his watch then at the nearest sign too where they are at currently. "Five or six hours. Do not tell him we are coming."
"You got it Sam but hurry. I cannot take seeing him like this and when he got here, he would not tell me what was wrong. I heard from yer father that he took you away from college, so I knew something was up when I did not see him with you tagging along."
"I am on the way just keep him there. Do not let him know in any way that something is up."
