I know I've been writing a lot of Marvel and Guardians stuff but after my friend told me, about when Linda and Shocket first came to Terra and the stories sound adorable like Linda and Shocket living with Howard. So in this first one, Linda and Shocket have arrived on Terra finding Howard and at first he doesn't believe them until he does a DNA test discovers Linda is his lil byrdie and Shocket is Rocket's but Rocket's, well Rocket's in space so Shocket is with her Linda and Howard so shenigans ahoy lol including their first pizza and Shocket's lack of table manners
"Owwwww Ihate shots. Why did you do that, Linda's pops." Shocket whimpered rubbing the finger which had a teeny tiny bandaid on it, noticing Linda doing the same thing making Howard sigh. "It was to see if you are his, and yep, you are, meaning Linda is mine." Howard said to them choked up.
Both kids hadshown up at his place telling him they'd escaped from Tivon and at first he was unsure about it doing a DNA test which revealed Shocket was Rocket's so it meant Linda was his lil birdie hugging her about to hug Shocket only she backed away making Howard get it. "Tivon put her through heck compared to me so give her time." Linda said seeing Shocket on the couch feeling overwhelmed by everything making Linda get it only she had a question on her mind. They were also curious about how Terrans would react to them running around New York hearing Howard tell them, notto worry.
"So, what next,." she whispered to Shocket which Howard heard. "Go find my pops." Shocket replied.
"Shocket that might be hard. He's in space at the moment. But why don't you stay, here with me until he comes back." Howard said.
"… Okay I guess, if it's not too much trouble, uncle Howard." Shocket told him making the male duck chuckle.
"You gotta a point kid. Your pops and me are buds." Howard muttered ordering in.
While that was happening, both kids were exploring and found a spare room they could sleep in or under which Linda would have to explain to her dad about this seeing Shocket place her bazooka named Helen on the bed making Linda grin at that. "Linda, Shocket food's here." Howard said seeing both female youngsters go to the kitchen sitting at the table which was strange for Shocket compared to Linda but something from those boxes smelt good and different from what Tivon fed her, after a successful mission which Howard noticed.
"We're allowed to be at the table, we don't eat in our cupboards." Shocketasked
"Yes kiddo, on Terra, kids eat at the table with their folks. Ohhh vey Rocket's got work with this one." he said.
Linda was enjoying this new freedom only for Shocket, it would take time plus she was anxious which she was trying to hide but it bubbled up at bedtime hugging Helen in her bazooka cosy as Linda hugged her making an under bed fort which made Shocker feel comfortable feeling her hug her making Linda smile kissing her goodnight stunning Howard checking on them, at the fact they'd slept under the bed guessing they must have done this in the foretress wanting to ask, knowing Shocket might be freaked out if he asked her in the morning.
"Hi pops how did you sleep this morning, as you seem frazzled. Is it because we slept under the bed because if it is, it makes Shocket comfortable enough to sleep without waking up crying or screaming." Howard heard Linda say. It was the next morning and Shocket was still asleep making Howard sigh as he had to get used to this only he'd contact Rocket and let him know about Shocket making coffee after stopping Linda from making it for hin confusing her, expla8ning to him she always made Tivon coffee seeing Howard shake his messily feathered head. "No duck in this family is a servant to somebody like Tivon." he said making himself coffee along with Linda making her stunned hearing sniffling seeing Shocket hug her. "Everything's okay and we're safe. We're still in my dad's place which I'm still getting used to, he stopped me from making him coffee. Come eat breakfast with us honey." Linda said to her.
"Okay." Shocket said. She was still in her armour with bed fur and her glorious mohawk messy, dark rings under her eyes which surprised Howard seeing Rocket's daughter like this offering her coffee which she gratefully Tom seeing her quiet guessing Tivon had put her through a lot seeing her impressed they were having pancakes frowning at the eggs making Linda understand her thoughts. "No we're not cannibals because Linda and me are eating eggs, we're not typical ducks like you and your pops ain't normal raccoons." Howard told her.
"Okay then." Shocket said eating messily making Linda giggle used to this but Howard stunned at his niece.
"Shocket, this thing is a fork, we use it to eat food, not our paws." he told her.
"Ohhhhh okay. Master said it was okay. I have a lot to learn." Shocket said blushing.
"We both have a lot to learn here, being newbies to this planet." Linda told her.
"Yep, but I can helpyou get adjusted to here." Howard told them.
He also suggested to Linda she and Shocket get freshened up, making both female youngsters exchange a look, as they didn't have clothes besides what they'd worn escaping hearing Howard say he had clothes they could wear so they were hitting the shower which was relaxing to them. After that, they were getting dressed but looked good and ready to explore the city making Howard realise that might be a bad idea and saw Shocket quiet but wastired sitting on the couch.
"Shocket you sleepy, wanna take a nap.} Linda told her.
"?.. Yeah, Shocket sleepy." Shocket told her yawning. Linda smirked seeing the kit asleep on the couch going to make snacks for them, hoping they could explore soon knowing her pops wanted them to wait
