Chapter: What Is It?

After getting my breath back, 'Is that all or is there still some surprise left?' I thought doubtfully.
With doubt, I checked my body to find a rather peculiar watch or bracelet adorning my wrist. Carefully, I removed it and inspected the strange device. It resembled a sleek strip or scale with a design straight out of a science fiction novel.
'What is this? An alien watch, maybe? Can I transform into aliens like those sci-fi shows?' I wondered, my curiosity piqued. Succumbing to my inquisitive nature, and let's not forget, I was indeed a baby. I instinctively pressed my finger to what appeared to be a fingerprint lock. To my amazement, a blue light emerged in the center of the device and extended along its length, dividing it into two parts.
'Wow! It really is an alien watch,' I marveled, my eyes wide with fascination. As any curious baby would, I instinctively grabbed the left and right sides of the divided parts and pulled them apart. The action transformed the blue light into a screen.
"This is so cool! I've never seen anything like this in my world," I exclaimed, pulling the parts further apart. As I continued, the screen seemed to change, resembling a cross between a smartphone and a tablet.
"Looks like a smartphone at this size, but when I stretch it further, it's more like a tablet," I observed as I experimented with its capabilities.
'How does this light keep these parts from falling down?' I idly pondered, wiggling the left side to see if the right side would come loose. 'Ugh, baby brain, stop thinking about trivial things like that,' I chided myself, blushing in embarrassment.
'Regardless, let's see what this thing can do,' I muttered, operating the mysterious watch.
It turned out to be a hybrid of a phone and a personal computer. The device had various apps, including a camera, a recording function, and more. Additionally, there were folders categorized under topics like education, entertainment, sports, and so on. Each folder contained a wealth of knowledge ranging from basic to advanced levels, much of which was evident from my previous world, based on the folder titles.
These folders were further divided into sub folders. For instance, the entertainment folder encompassed sections such as Music, Movies, Videos, and animes.
As I searched, it doesn't have One Piece in both the anime and manga folder. 'Stingy God,' I denounced the god for this. And the movies, animes, games, etc. in it were also different, not the ones from my world. The folders in the education part also vary, even the knowledge in the advanced folder is not as advanced compared to my world.
'Well, even with this, I can do whatever I want. I will become a great scientist, surpassing even Vegapunk in this world,' I started daydreaming about what I could do with this knowledge.
'Let's focus on the current situation than dreaming about the future,' I turned it off and wore it on my wrist.
'According to novels, if a God sends someone to other worlds. Then some Boons were given, right?' I recalled the novels I read.
'Now I know what I probably wished from the God,' I deduced thoughtfully.
'My previous life memories, a powerful body, and all the knowledge of my previous world,' I speculated, listing the probable wishes.
'I do recall something from my dream about this. I think the God promised to fulfill my wish, but there'd be consequences,' I recalled, wracking my brain to retrieve the details.
'What is the consequence I need to pay? Is it baby body or my weird body OR…!' My thoughts trailed off as I suddenly panicked and checked my lower half in haste. 'Phew... I still have it,' heaving a sigh of relief.
'I don't want to suddenly become a girl. It is really a heavy price for me.' I paled, thinking of the possibility. 'Just thinking about it makes me sweat.' I shivered, thinking about it.
'Whom do I have a relationship with? As a male soul, I like women, but if I'm in the female body. Then should I be with men, but I don't like men as a straight male soul...' I rambled, contemplating increasingly improbable scenarios.
'Argh...! Just thinking about it makes my head hurt,' I held my head in pain. 'Calm down! I'm still a baby, and a male one at that, so don't think uselessly,' I chided.
'But, if that happened. I will kneel in front of Ivankov to change me into a man,' I concluded, clearing my distractive thoughts.
'Coming back to the topic, what price did I pay for the boon? I thought hard as I stood there holding the bed for support. Then a «BEEP» sound came from my wrist. 'What the hell?' I stared at it before hearing people coming in.
'Where Am I?' I looked around in panic before finding the people coming near. 'Why are they so big?' I turned to run but stumbled due to my unsteady balance.
"Ok, don't panic. We will not hurt you," comforted a man wearing a hat.
'Like hell, I will not panic, I won't let you eat me, you giant monsters,' I yelled, but what came out of my mouth was, "Blab...boo bla...bee," some unintelligent blabbing sound.
"What's going on?" inquired the doctor, turning to the person beside him.
"Well, When I was taking care of him. He suddenly woke up," that person recounted, pointing at the bed.
"Then he promptly sprang from the bed. After gazing at me, he started babbling incessantly," he continued, looking at me with a bewildered expression. "I couldn't decipher a word of it, so I decided to call for your assistance," he elaborated.
'WHAT! Why can't I remember any of it? Is he lying or did I forget something crucial?' I thought, scrutinizing the area with growing unease.
My surroundings consisted entirely of a white backdrop, and the people nearby all possessed wings reminiscent of Skypieans from the One Piece anime... I blinked One Piece?... 'Holy shit, I am in one piece world,' I blurted out, my realization dawning.
I suddenly remembered that the last memory was me looking at the bracelet-like thing on my wrist. I relaxed. 'I will check it out later,' I decided after my stomach rumbled in hunger.
"Ok! kid, I will do a check-up before you can eat," he chuckled, picking me up and dropping me on the bed.
"Hmm, we probably should do something about the nails. To prevent you from hurting yourself or others," the doctor explained, examining my nails.
Wide-eyed, I examined the nail on my hand, astonished by its peculiar characteristics. 'What the f...! Ok! think later.' I resolved, suppressing my bewilderment and taking a deep breath. The doctor began conducting the check-up, but my mind wandered elsewhere as I caught a glimpse of my reflection.
I noticed that my hair was a striking white-silver color, and my eyes appeared to be a veritable rainbow. The iris was outlined with a golden hue followed by shades of red/pink, orange/yellow, and light green/green. The pupil itself was a deep green, nearly black, with an overall appearance that, while unusual, had a certain complementarity to it.
I felt a sense of relief that my nose appeared entirely ordinary and not some beak. As I inspected my mouth, however, I discovered – rows of shark-like teeth. 'Do one-year-old babies even have teeth?' I mused, studying my reflection with a sense of curiosity.
"You will probably struggle to breathe someday, so don't do heavy work before adapting to it...why am I telling this to you? You are just a baby," muttered the doctor, to which I rolled my eyes.
After the check-up, they gave me something to fill my stomach and left me to sleep, which I compiled.
