I woke in the morning to the sound of water splashing; I groggily opened my eyes to see rows of sharp teeth right in front of my face.
"What is this?" I looked confusedly at the teeth. The tooth backed away, revealing a strange shark rolling back into the water.
My sleepiness cleared as I looked at the shark with wide eyes. "Shark?" I muttered, quickly standing up and looking around to find myself standing at the bottom of the stairs of an altar-like building in the middle of the river, with weird Sharks swimming in it.
"Where Am I?" I exclaimed, looking around in confusion.
"Am I dreaming?" I muttered, looking at the white, cloud-like water. Suddenly a shark jumped towards me from it. "Ahh…!" I panicked and climbed up as the shark attacked the place I had just stood.
"Phew!, that was dangerous," I sighed then spotted a weird-looking vehicle, made of bags and sticks. I reached for the bag on top, only to find a bracelet-looking thing on my wrist that had a light blinking on it.
"Oh! I think this can clear my doubt," I concluded. Since I woke up, I have had an urge to look at my wrist. I operated it, as it projected a hologram displaying a 'Reminder Note'.

"Cool! 'I' fought Nola and drew First Blood," I exclaimed proudly at 'past me' achievement, believing that shameless lie.
"And it is not some insects mentioned by 'me', who would want their first opponents to be a Moth," I scoffed dismissively, not knowing it was the first enemy.
"Oh! So I need to find a place to stay on this Island," I muttered after understanding my current status.
"Hmm… A bunch of insects attacked me under the order of the directional birds?" I read the note.
"So that's why I have these injuries," I figured, then started checking the injuries for any infection.
I looked around, taking a deep breath as the smell of the forest stimulated my senses. "Phew! This is Upper Yard?" I looked excitedly at the forest.
I got ready for the journey and changed the milky dials in this weird vehicle and studied it to figure out how to operate it.
I climbed on the weird vehicle created by 'Past me' and then started it; It started slowly and drove towards the edge of the altar and flew towards the forest in midair. I headed in that direction vigilantly to see if anything pops out.
"Gaa! My body is so sore," I groaned, stretching my arms and testing the flexibility.
"I should not even exercise heavily with this small body," I grumbled, moving my body stiffly. "But I have to do hard work for continuously three days," I lamented the work I have to do today.
I continued to travel unobstructed for five minutes. "It's weird, why isn't anything attacking me?" I looked around in confusion.
"It seems I can breeze through easily," I muttered hopefully. Suddenly a mantis flew, obstructing my path directly. I quickly stopped the vehicle and pointed a gun at it.
"Who are you?" I demanded after noticing it was not attacking me, it looked taken back as its round eye widened further hearing that question, and started waving his forearms with a confused look.
"Did we meet before?" I probed after seeing its action. It nodded its head in agreement.
"Are you my friend?" I asked doubtfully, hoping to get additional help from someone who knows this forest well.
It denied vehemently at that question and waved its forelegs signing something. "Are you my pet?" I asked excitedly. It denied angrily still signing.
Now I look carefully at the sign. It somewhat resembles a hand sign used by humans, but slightly changed to be used by its forelegs. "Then what are you to me?" I asked in frustration since it would take a long time for me to understand the signs.
It thought carefully, then pointed at me with his sickle-like legs and crossed it like a sword clashing.
"I know!" I shouted after observing it. The mantis looked expectedly at me.
"My training partner," I declared confidently, thinking that the 'Past me' must have chosen it like this. The Mantis face-faulted at this response.
Before it could protest, there was a sound of some animal screaming in fright from the front where I was heading.
"What the…?" I muttered as I got goosebumps hearing that sound.
"Is there a giant snake in the front?" I asked the mantis, guessing the cause of the sound; the mantis nodded its head positively.
I looked gratefully at him. "Oh! You came here to save me! What a nice insect," I complimented, and started the weird vehicle.
"Let's get out of here soon. It will kill me if it saw me, who injured it yesterday," I suggested, driving the vehicle towards the dazed Mantis, who was thinking, 'You fought that snake? When?' and dragging it onto the sleigh and sped away.
"You are smaller than I thought," I blurted out, observing the adult-sized mantis. The Mantis looked confused and dazed as if having amnesia 'Who am I? Where Am I?' look on its face.
"Oh! Yeah, I have short-term memory loss, so I will forget things regularly, so I apologize in advance if I do anything," I informed apologetically, driving away from there.
"So, what is your name?" I asked idiotically at an insect, which looked dazedly at me.
I quickly reacted to how stupid the question was. "I will give you one myself," I declared confidently, thinking of a proper name for it.
The mantis who had just recovered from dazedness looked taken aback by my announcement and went back to dazedness.
"I have a perfect name for you," I exclaimed as a good name came to mind.
"How about - Scyther!?" I excitedly revealed the name that fits perfectly with the mantis.
The Mantis who looked daze regained its sense after hearing this name; it liked it so much 'Why the hell are you giving me a name? I'm your rival, not a pet,' Mantis/Scyther thought, confused.
Before Scyther could protest, we heard a familiar sound "CHOH~ CHOH~" hooting around us.
I quickly searched around. "Isn't this that stupid bird's call?" I seethed, controlling the sleigh to go higher, looking around to find any insects.
I was maneuvering the weird 'Baghicle' through the branches of the trees when I spotted the grasshoppers jumping from branch to branch arriving here. "Finally they arrived," I muttered, observing them.
"Even grasshoppers are so big. Who cares? Let's fight," I declared before yelling. "Scyther, I choose you." I pointed dramatically at the approaching grasshoppers.
Scyther looked dumbfounded and pointed at itself in question. "Duh! Or do you want an injured kid to fight?" I asked expressionlessly, pointing at my bandaged body.
His eyes widened, and then he grunted and grumbled in anger before jumping toward the grasshopper to fight. I readied my weapons, Burn Blade and Light Gun, to attack anytime.
I watched as the Scyther beat several grasshoppers easily before hearing a buzzing sound, only to see a swarm of wasps. "What the hell?" I exclaimed, looking at the two and a half adult fist-sized wasps flying here aggressively.
I held the Burn blade defensively, but they only flinched slightly after seeing the fire. I shot at them as they came toward me.
I missed many shots, as I'm not proficient in using the gun. I pulled the lever, increasing the speed to move away from the area. "Oi! Scyther keep up," I shouted towards Scyther moving away from the wasps and sliced & shot whenever they came near me.
It is quite difficult to defend and drive at the same time. I nearly got stung many times by the wasps, and only my reflexes honed because of extreme sports, and this weird body prevented me from becoming a pincushion.
"What's that?" I muttered, dodging a wasp before glimpsing a patch of white in the forest different from the clouds.
Before I could observe properly, I suddenly felt a murderous intent locked on me. I quickly swatted the nearby wasps and pointed the gun around vigilantly.
Before I could react, I felt a big movement accompanied by blowing wind behind me; I spun around to see Scyther blocking a mantis of its own size from slicing me.
Instead of staring stupidly, I quickly shot at the other mantis, but it evaded it gracefully and retreated to a distance.
"Shit! There are other mantises," I cursed as that mantis landed among a group of mantis and eyed Scyther in disdain.
The other mantises are bigger than Scyther and that particular mantis looks like a villain from a novel, with evil slanted eyes, surrounded by bodyguards, evil smiles, etc.
I looked at Scyther, whose looks were totally opposite to it, with round eyes and a calm aura standing protectively in front. My mind started spinning many tales related to this.
"Hey! Scyther, who is that villain-looking mantis?" I asked Scyther, as the villain's mouth twitched slightly.
I saw Scyther's body shaking 'Hm! As I thought there is some 'Inside Story' between the two, he is shaking in rage,' I deduced, then glared at the Villain.
"Now I think about it. Why are you alone?" I questioned Scyther, looking at the Villain surrounded by bodyguards.
"Where are your Mooks?" I asked Scyther, who looked dumbfounded at my question and looked towards the villain.
Before he could react "Oh! I know you don't need to tell," I assured him, then pointed at the villain mantis.
"Does this villain scheme and take your position as a leader?" I questioned the dumbfounded Scyther.
"Did he slaughter your family? Stole your girlfriend? Exiled you?" I shot a flurry of questions as everyone stood in silence as the beaten grasshoppers chirped painfully in the background.
The villain's face became ugly as Scyther started sweating at how I made tragic stories for him.
"Don't worry, we will train properly and defeat him to get revenge," I promised, not seeing the state he was in. I turned the 'Baghicle' towards the direction where I saw white patches earlier.
"Hey you bloody villain, just you wait, we will come back and get his revenge," I declared angrily at the bewildered/angry looking Villain. Its guards looked angry for calling them Mooks.
I drove into the white area with dumbfounded Scyther staring at the mantis group, along with the remaining insects following me. We soon arrived at the white area; as I guessed it was a spider's nest with webbing covering most of the area.
I took three dials a combination of a breath dial, a water dial (alcohol), and a Flame dial. "I will show you the power of fire," I yelled, turning on the dials, which acted as a flamethrower.
"Hahaha Burn baby burn hahaha" I laughed maniacally, setting fire to the spider web, and creating a path for us to pass through it. The insects following us got stuck in the spider web or burned.
"Hahaha, we finally got rid of them." I laughed at Scyther, who was looking at me like I was a madman.
I turned off the changed flame thrower and started driving away. "Don't worry, we will get revenge," I assured him before stopping somewhere to rest, not noticing Scyther's 'I gave up' look.
"We will rest for a few minutes here," I proposed, getting down the 'Baghicle' and then checking for any injuries.

Author's Note: Hello, I hope you like the story. I need to inform you that MC only watched One Piece anime in his previous life because of certain circumstances. So, if he made any anime reference, then it is because of him watching it in this world during his free time like in the previous chapter. Well, It is complicated because of his memory loss so I will explain it clearly in a future chapter.
