Chapter: What's the Goal?

When I gained consciousness, my body felt heavy and sluggish, like it was filled with lead, and my right shoulder stings like hell. I sat up to look at the surroundings before someone handed me water; I drank it relieving my sore throat.
I looked up to see a woman who fed me water. "Where Am I?" I asked raspily, looking at the tribal-like surroundings and dress of the woman.
"You are in Shandian Village hidden in the cloud," she replied, taking away the cup.
I blinked dazedly. "So, where exactly are we?" I asked again in confusion.
"I can't say that. There is a reason we are hidden," she replied vigilantly.
"Oh! Wait a minute!" I exclaimed. "Did you say village hidden in the cloud?" I inquired, wide-eyed. She nodded, bewildered.
"Are you guys Ninja?" I asked expectedly. She looked dumbfounded at my question.
"I get it. It's a secret to outsiders," I guessed with an understanding look.
"Don't worry, I won't say it to anyone," I assured her, to which she looked bewildered. I don't know where the thoughts came from, probably 'past me' watching new animes.
"Whoa… Wait... Stop... Hold it," she shouted in exasperation, waving her hands to make me stop.
"What are you talking about? We are not ninjas,' she denied that. "This is really in the clouds," she implied with a 'Are you an idiot?' look.
"What! I'm in clouds?" I exclaimed anxiously, looking around. "So I'm dead, this is heaven," I muttered numbly after calming down.
"Now I see, you have wings, so you are an angel?" I asked calmly, accepting my death.
She looked dumbfounded "What…?" she stared numbly. "Hahaha!" an immature laugh attracted our attention.
"That's so funny! Hahaha!" the voice laughed aloud. The woman went and opened the cover of the tent, revealing a 7-8 yrs old girl laughing.
"RAKI! What are you doing here?" the woman questioned. The kid stopped laughing, looking at the stern-faced woman.
"Aunt Isa, I'm just wandering around," Raki muttered, looking down guiltily.
"Oh! Really?" Isa dragged, folding her hands, looking down at Raki.
"Um, I came to look at him," Raki blurted, eyeing me, and started giggling, but was stopped by Isa's glare.
"I'm sorry, I was curious," Raki apologized to her.
Isa looked silently at her. "Fine, I will forgive you this time," Isa smiled at Raki, who beamed back.
"Inform others, he is conscious," Isa ordered Raki, patting her head.
She turned around and sighed, looking at me, and explained what this place was, who they were, etc., for half an hour. I processed all the things carefully, then nodded in understanding.
'Did I transmigrate? But I have heard about this similar setting somewhere? Is it One Piece?' I thought, recalling the details as she finished explaining.
"Only Chief decides what to do with you," Isa explained the ins and outs. Suddenly a «BEEP» sounds in the tent.
"Where Am I?" I asked blankly at the woman in front.
Tick marks appeared on her forehead due to anger. "AARRGGH! You wait here," Isa fumed, storming out. 'Why is she angry?' I wondered, looking at the tent's entrance.

After I'm alone, I operated my watch and read the reminder, understanding the situation, sighing, "I nearly killed Aisa's mom in anger," I patted my chest nervously.
"Why is there no task here?" I muttered, "I need to find a new goal," I concluded, planning to find the next course of action.
Isa returned aggressively after 15 minutes. I stopped her before she could take any drastic measures and explained to her about my memory loss, so she calmed down, looking sympathetic.
From her I learned that a few Shandian found me unconscious and bleeding while they were returning, so they took me with them since I'm only a kid.
A group of people entered the tent. I looked vigilantly at them as a man approached me. "You need half a month's rest before you can use your hands properly," he stated, checking my wounds.
"So, who are you?" asked a man standing together with a man who is probably their Chief.
"Don't you know?" I asked curiously, but they denied it.
"I thought since you are at war, you will know everything happening on Angel Island," I questioned them, confused.
'Isn't it how a normal war happens?' I thought.
"We know everything happening on Angel island," interjected another man.
"What's that got to do with you? Are you a Skypiean?" questioned that man vigilantly.
"What are you guys trying to do? He is only a kid," Chief scolded, finally opening his mouth.
"Ok! Kid, who you are?" Chief asked, smiling kindly.
'How do I explain my origin?' I sweated, 'From Blue Sea? No,' I desperately tried to remember anything suddenly recalling a thing mentioned in the Note.
"Did you guys know about 'Devil's Day' that took place on Angel Island?" I asked hopefully, as many snickered.
"Yeah! It's a happy day for us," laughed one man.
"Someone has done such a huge thing with no one noticing," smirked another one.
"Why are you asking about that?" asked one woman.
"Weellll, I'm the one who did it," I spilled, bringing silence among the crown here.
"WHAT?" shouted most of them in alarm.
"You are the one who did it. I can't believe it," shouted one.
"Yeah, how can it be doing of a kid?" exclaimed another.
"Hahaha, those idiots got their ass handed by a kid," yelled another happily obviously believing me. Most of them laughed, even if they didn't believe it.
"Are you a devil?" asked one man.
"It's because of them calling me the devil. I have done those things," I side-eyed him.
"If you want, you can also call me like that," I grinned maliciously, as that man was dog-piled and dragged back by scared men around him.
"So? how do you do it?" asked a woman.
"I don't know, I forgot about it," I answered truthfully, as they looked in disappointment.
"You must know about my memory loss, right?" I inquired, looking at Isa as they nodded.
"I just read my Log before you arrived. That's why I even remembered this," I explained truthfully.
"Or I would have joined your discussions about 'who was brave enough to do?', 'Does a devil exist?', etc.," I gestured, and they chuckled, thinking about it.
"Hmm! where is my bag? I must have taken photos during the prank, I can show you it," I suggested hoping I have a bag; they got excited as a man rushed out of the tent to bring it.
'I have vision dials as an explanation for my watch; I don't want everyone to know about my watch.' The man brought the bag; I got my bag without knowing I had one. 'I should add 'Items list',' to prevent my things from losing/forgetting.
I projected the photos and started bragging, knowing nothing about it. They enjoyed it, thus starting my stay at Hidden Cloud Village.
I rested for three days in Isa's house, before I removed the cast in irritation -I now know why Zoro does that. I became friends with Raki these days since she is in canon, I can remember her even after memory loss like I vaguely remember Conis.
Now she is bringing me to meet her friend Kamakiri. He has shaved head with feathers sticking on his head and wore red sunglasses.
"Hey! Kamakiri, meet Lucifer," Raki introduced me to him.
"Oh! You are the punk who made Skypiean suffer," he beamed at me.
"What is with your funny wings?" he joked at my wings.
"At least I can move it," I pointed out.
"Unlike your useless wings. It looks like a butterfly sitting on your back," I retaliated as his face become red in embarrassment.
"Hmph! you're all talk, you also can't fly with yours," Kamakiri yelled at me. I saw that 'Past me' has tried to learn bio-feedback to make use of the wings. 'I' even made a file consisting of the different structures of wings and study how they function. It's only a matter of time to succeed in it.
I speculated that Bio-feedback is a matter of will, that's how most things work in this world e.g.) Haki. Anything may be possible if you 'will' to do it. Like a starfish willing to speak the human language, animals are sentient here.
I theorized that Bio-feedback or Life-return works similarly, but on a cellular level; just 'Will' the cells to digest food quickly, 'Will' it to retract teeth & claws, 'Will' it to control the hairs, etc. So If I know the structure of the wings and 'will' it to work like that, then flying may be successful.
I broke away from the thought "Now that I think about it, Kamakiri means Praying Mantis, right?" I snickered as he became angry again.
"I also have a praying mantis as my friend and I named him," I started as he listened
"But here a human is named after an insect, it's funny, Hahaha," I laughed at him as Raki also joined in laughing.
Kamakiri is being held back by two boys from attacking me, whom I only noticed now; one wears a beanie nearly covering his eyes -Braham and the other is a fat kid wearing a Chef's hat–Genbo.
I quickly got friends with them within two days. Wyper, being an asshole, is annoying and grumpy, so I have little contact with him yet.
'Why does Shandian's have more named characters in Canon?' I wondered. For the past two years, I only met Gan Fall, Conis, and Pagaya on Angel Island. But I mostly met all the Canon characters of Shandians here within a week.

«Logbook Entry: 189; Year: 1510- Early April »
» It's been nearly three weeks. My wounds healed completely and I can move my arms normally without any problems. I practiced my Electro regularly. There is a huge improvement in it. I think it's because I'm in the cloud that I can manipulate electricity easily.
» I also try to control flames. Sometimes I see it moved in the way I imagined, but don't know whether it's because of me or the wind. But I can feel more connected with the fire now.
» The only problem is, despite being treated fairly, they treat me like a regular kid. So my questions are ignored, and I became bored frequently, resulting in many memory attacks, so I need to do something to keep me busy. It's time to update my Main task.
» Yesterday is an important day. I saw a scene from a canon, even though it is a flashback part. It is a scene where the Chief called those four boys imparted the history of Shandora, about how their ancestors guarded the Ponyglyps by sacrificing their life from invaders.
» He also explained how the surviving ancestors retreated to quietly safeguard the city and ancient text forever. I listened silently, along with Raki hiding away from their conversation. The Chief also explained the promise between Kalgara and Noland.
» I so wished to rush in and ask, 'If their ancestor lived along with the Kozuki clan?', after hearing him state, 'Focus your heart, we are the ones who record history and keep your mouth shut,' the words written in the Ponyglyps.
» Since the Kozuki clan were the ones who write history in the indestructible stones, and ask what happened to the missing part of the Island. But I know the Chief won't say and even doubt me for asking it.
.
I closed the Logbook and followed Raki excitedly to meet with those boys after making an important choice for my goal. We reached the meeting place to see the boys are training- minus Wyper.
"Hey! Raki, why do you call us to meet here?" Kamakiri complained, spotting us, and pointing at the remote area near the beach.
"He wants to say something, so I called you guys," Raki revealed, pointing at me as I beamed at them.
"You kid, don't waste our training time," Braham grumbled.
"We are the ones to protect the light of Shandora," Braham proclaimed as the other two nodded in agreement.
"Where is that 'Grumper'?" I asked, looking around as they snickered at the nickname.
"I will ask a serious question," I expressed, looking serious, as they waited for my question. "Where do you think I lived in Upper Yard?" I questioned excitedly, as they looked blank.
"Did you call us here just to ask this stupid question?" Kamakiri shouted angrily, along with the other two.
"With Short-tempered guys like you, the future of Shandora will be so great," I mocked them disdainfully.
"Why you…!" Kamakiri growled, ready to fight before being stopped by Raki.
"Stop! Listen to him fully before complaining," she urged.
"I live in the Golden City of Shandora," I smugly revealed, as they looked dumbfounded.
"*Sigh* let's go, it's a waste of time," Braham grumbled, walking away.
"You 'blind' idiot, see here. If you can, with your stupid eyes covered like that," I yelled at him, pointing at the photo displayed in the vision dial.
"Ta-da, this is the ancient city of Shandora," I announced smugly, as four pairs of eyes are glued to the photo of the beautiful golden city. 'They only know about a device alerting my memory loss, so they are clueless about my watch's function.'
I waited for their reaction, but they just stared at the photo, mesmerized. "Um! Did you guys get stuck?" I called as they look frozen. I waved the visual dial as the picture moved around. Their eyes followed along with it.
"Do you guys think of yourself as a cat?" I yelled in frustration and closed it.
"NOOO!" those four shouted in desperation.
"If you don't shut up, I will erase it," I threatened, placing my finger on the dial's apex.
They quickly shut their mouths, "Er- is that real?" Genbo asked excitedly/nervously.
"No, I just made it up," I stated deadpan as he withered in disappointment.
"Idiot! He is lying." Braham smacked Genbo. "Hey ki… *ahem* warrior, can you show me that again?" he flattered me as others looked expectedly.
"Didn't someone say I'm wasting their time to train?" I teased, examining my nails seriously.
"I showed what I wanted. You can continue your training," I sneered, blowing air on my nails.
They looked at each other. "Hey! Come on, you can't be serious. Who would train now?" Kamakiri declared, dropping his spear as others made up their reasons and dropped their weapons.
"Since you guys asking so kindly, I will show it," I sighed haughtily, "But it won't be free," I implied as they look hesitant.
"Don't worry, it will be easy and not against your morals," I promised as they relented.
"Since you accepted it, Kamakiri will teach me to wield Spear," I announced as Kamakiri nodded affirmatively.
"Braham will teach me to shoot," I continued, gesturing my finger like a gun. He nodded. It can't be helped, adults ignore me so I can only get the next best thing.
"From now on, Genbo will cook food for me," I ordered. He agreed reluctantly.
"That's it for now," I concluded, walking with my hands back. It looks extremely funny, four kids standing attentive while a smaller kid is walking in front like a teacher inspecting students.
"What about me?" Raki wondered, pointing at herself.
"Since you took care of me these days, I will make an exception now," I smiled at her as she whooped in joy to others' envy.
"Oh! What about that brainless idiot?" I queried. They looked at each other, knowing whom I was talking about. Kamakiri huffed, then readied to run and bring him.
"Wait! Before you go, I need to tell you guys something." I grinned mischievously.
"I'm going to prank Wyper. Whatever I say, you all should agree, and especially do not laugh," I instructed, smirking at the plan prepared for Wyper.
"Otherwise you can forget about this," I threatened, shaking the Vision Dial. After that Kamakiri ran to bring the 'goods'. As we were waiting, the other nagged me to show the photo, annoying me.
Kamakiri arrived panting; dragging Wyper behind him, then dropped him in front of us. "What the hell are you doing?" Wyper yelled, punching Kamakiri on the head in anger.
His anger increased after looking at us. Before he could start his rant, I displayed the photo of Golden City choking him on his words. He stared intently at the photo; others also looked mesmerized.
I displayed it for a while and closed it "What!? you…" Wyper shouted, regaining his sense, looking angrily for turning it off. Others stopped him as he calmed down.
"What is that place you?" Wyper asked doubtfully. "It is our home, the city of Shandora," Raki whispered, still not believing it to be true.
"Impossible, how can it be?" Wyper denied. "We have been at war for many years and no one found it!" Wyper reasoned logically as everyone thought about it.
"You must be lying. It's some kind of set-up," he accused me.
"*Scoff* why should I lie to you? What benefit does it bring?" I retorted, "I can spend my days leisurely even if I don't show you," I pointed out.
"I don't know. You may need something from us," Wyper protested unwillingly.
"Oh! Do tell me, what do you guys have that I don't?" I asked with disdain.
"Dials, weapons, or your leaf for pants," I listed, sneering at his leaves for pants.
"I have everything you have and above all else, I have a whole city," I declared to him.
"What, that's our home?" Wyper yelled in protest. "WAS!" I bellowed, silencing him. "This was your home, that was your island," I implied, pointing at the vision dial. He became silent while others looked down.
I somewhat felt guilty, but it needs to be done. "Now that island is theirs and this city is mine and no one knows of its existence," I told them the fact.
"Since we know about it now, we need to tell Chief," Wyper exclaimed suddenly and tried to run before I tripped him with my tail.
"You idiot, how is going to help? Can you be sure that Shandians can win this time after fighting for many years?" I question Wyper, who is lying on the ground.
"Besides, the chief probably knows its existence," I mumbled doubtfully.
"And if your desperate fight alerts Skypiean, they will find the city before you. What will you do then?" I questioned, calming them down.
"The city will be safe for now, if you guys keep quiet about it," I warned them.
They sat in silence, thinking about various things while I was updating the reminder on my watch. It will automatically transfer the details from the reminder note to the Logbook.
"If it is like this, then why did you show it to us?" Raki questioned.
"If you didn't tell us, everything would have been normal and we will be blissfully unaware of it," Raki pointed out the details.
"Oh! I thought of bringing you guys to the city before it gets destroyed," I blurted out subconsciously, without thinking of the consequence.
"WHAT!?" they shouted anxiously. "Shit! Don't shout. Do you want to bring everyone here?" I scolded as they shut their mouth.
"Even if you don't shout, I will bring you guys there, don't worry," I promised them, not realizing the reason for their shout.
"Not that," Kamakiri shouted, waving his hand in panic.
"What! you don't want to come?" I questioned him in surprise.
"Of course! I will come. Do I look like an idiot? And don't try to change the subject," he shouted, almost forgetting about my blunder.
"Yeah, you told something about being destroyed," Braham reminded me from the side.
"What are you guys talking about?" I questioned, looking confused.
"You told us that you will bring us to the city before it gets destroyed, right?" Raki claimed seriously.
"Yeah, so what?" I asked, acting confused.
"How is it going to be destroyed?" Wyper growled.
"Oh! That..., why are your guys focused on it?" I asked, bewildered.
"You should focus on 'going to the city', ignore that part," I suggested, 'what's wrong with you?' look.
"You are the one focusing wrongly!" they yelled angrily.
"Tell us! What do you mean by that? And how do you know what's going to happen in the future?" Wyper demanded.
"Are you an idiot? I'm obviously dragging after that tongue slip, so I don't want to tell you," I expressed as they became desperate.
'What to do now? I accidentally blurted it,' I panicked internally. 'Escape from here? No! Tell the truth? It's Unbelievable Create a story? Yes,' I looked for a solution before remembering the prank made for Wyper.
"Oh! The stupid memory attack won't arrive at the moment," I mumbled, but they heard it.
"You asshole, tell us quick; before you forget everything," Genbo shouted in panic.
"Even if I tell you; you can't stop it from happening," I finally relented. They became silent, gazing firmly, not giving up.
"Ok, I will tell you, but you can't say it to anyone; even the person you are close with, until your death," I insisted. They yelled 'yes' without thinking about it.
"Think carefully and reply. I will give you five minutes," I proposed. 'You guys are so eager; but I need time to create a believable story, not like reincarnation,' I decided. Thinking of a 'believable', story combined with the plan to prank Wyper in the notepad app.
I mixed some truth and false and created a 'passable' story after some editing. "Ok! So...?" I questioned them about their choice.
"We agree and swear we will not say what we hear today to anyone else," they vowed solemnly.
"*Ahem*" I slightly felt guilty again for deceiving them but discarded it quickly. "Listen carefully, I will tell you only once," I started as they leaned forward attentively.
A «BZZT» sound was heard making Shandians face-fault "Where Am I?" I asked, shattering what little hope they had left.
"Oh! What is this shell?" I questioned, looking at the vision dial in my hand. I pressed its apex reflexively due to my muscle memory, destroying the photo.
"NO! don't…" the Shandians yelled to stop it but it was too late, they despaired.
"Hello! Excuse me, why are you dressed so poorly? Why do you look depressed? Did someone die?" I questioned doubtfully after spotting them.
"You are the one who died," Kamakiri growled from the floor.
"What! I died!?" I exclaimed in surprise.
"Are you guys? Angels?" I inquired, looking at their wings.
"But you guys are not up to angel's standard, except for her," I quibbled, pointing at Raki after observing their dress.
"You are so dead," Kamakiri shouted angrily before being stopped by others.
"But I'm already dead, hohoho," I laughed joyfully, finally understanding why Brook does that.
After some shouting, yelling, crying, etc., everyone calmed down as I read the reminder projecting on my forearm and learned everything.

"Tell us the reason before you forget it again," Braham urged me.
"You see, I'm from the future," I whispered according to the story in the 'Prank Wyper' file under the Prank list; marked as Urgent in the watch.
'What a 'believable story?' I scoffed at the 'Past me' story. 'But I have no choice but to wing it,' I decided.
They looked bewildered. "See this, so you can believe it's true," I reassured, showing them some pictures from sci-fi movies as they looked in awe.
I started to spin tales about the future as they listened seriously. "Due to some freak accident, I was thrown to this time," I stated sadly to them.
"That's how I know about the future," I insisted as they looked thoughtful.
"Then tell us how the Shandora's City gets destroyed?" Wyper inquired calmly after thinking a bit.
"Hm! What year is this? 1510?" I asked, rubbing my chin thoughtfully.
"Then you guys are about 9-10 years old, right?" I probed as they nodded except for Raki, who is 7 now.
"Then the person who destroys it will arrive in 1516," I revealed.
"He defeats Gan Fall easily and will capture the entire God's army to work for him." I dropped the shocking news. They looked in disbelief, thinking how they were struggling to win against them.
"Hm...! you will probably be 16 or 17 years old. You can't defeat him at that time," I remarked, as they didn't know to respond.
"He must be so strong to defeat Gan Fall and others," Kamakiri stated. 'Yeah, Luffy is his natural enemy,' I thought.
"Is he from the blue sea?" Genbo asked anxiously.
"No, he is from another sky island," I informed him. "He destroyed his entire Island and came here," I continued as they look shocked thinking how could one destroy his own home and fearing what he will do after coming here.
"Does that mean we can't carry our duty and fulfill the promise of Kalgara?" Wyper quavered, depressed, bringing the moods of others further down.
"Who said that?" I fumed, surprising them.
"I only said the city got trashed a bit," I stated as they look blankly 'What's the difference?' they thought.
"He took all the gold," I growled, thinking of all the things I can buy there. 'Why is gold important? He got angry about it?' they thought.
"He ran away after being defeated by some people," I informed them as they got better at hearing his defeat.
"Don't worry, He didn't find the golden bell, so the belfry is safe," I reassured them as they sighed in relief.
"And I can probably guess where it is," I lied, knowing his location.
"Where is the Bell?" Wyper hissed to keep his voice down. "Who defeated him?" Raki questioned after.
"So that you can ring that bell? Even if you ring it, how will you know that Noland's descendant can hear it?" I questioned Wyper sternly, knowing his thoughts.
"Then I will ring it daily until they hear," Wyper declared, determined-looking confident.
I tripped him with my tail. "Are you a moron? Then the whole blue sea will know this place exists, for real," I pointed out the obvious.
"You can't even win against Skypieans. Can you defend against many pirates and marines?" I questioned sarcastically at him as lay silently.
"It's of no use to know who defeated 'him', because of me it may change," I answered Raki's question as they became confused.
"What do you mean?" Braham voiced out his confusion. I sighed. "It's called the Butterfly effect. A flap of a butterfly's wings may create a cyclone miles away," I explained, as they look even more confused.
"Forget it. Why I'm even explaining to you guys," I sighed. "For example, If I travel back in time and kill Kalgara, then at present there won't be any descendent here," I explained smugly, looking at red-faced Wyper.
"You can't defeat him. Kalgara is a great warrior of Shandora," Wyper shouted angrily.
"I said as an example you dimwit," I yelled back at him, as he shut up due to his mouth being covered by Kamakiri.
"Okay, I understood a bit," Raki uttered in thought.
"If it is like that, then we can change that future, right?" she asked excitedly. I'm surprised at how easily she figured it out.
"Since we know when they will arrive, we will be ready for them," Raki proposed excitedly as it strengthened their resolve as a fire burned in their eyes.
"You will be only 16 or 17 yrs old and can you defeat his men," I reminded, *Ugh* *groan* damping their mood.
"We have many warriors to fight with us," Genbo stated in protest.
"Who? Those guys who are lying injured whenever I see them," I sneered at him.
"How can they fight? Looking half-dead?" I demanded as they looked at each other in loss, unable to answer me.
"Shut Up! If they are at peak state then they will be powerful," Kamakiri yelled in fury.
"If you want them at peak state, then you need to stop the ongoing war," I replied calmly to his anger, as they looked thoughtful.
"It's impossible. The war between us can't end," Wyper denied even thinking of the idea.
"They are the ones occupying our home, so the war won't be stopped until we chase them away," Wyper stated angrily.
"Who said about ending it? I only need you to pause the war till you defeat the major threat," I reassured him.
"You can start killing each other after that, I don't care," I sneered as he accepted it.
"And I already have a plan for it," I announced, bringing their focus to me.
"I planned to chase God out of Upper Yard," I declare, which shocked them. 'Did 'I' take Kick God's ass mentioned in the Reminder Note literally?.'
