Chapter: Down Again?

.

.

.

.

As I found that I'm falling into the abyss, I quickly flapped my healed wings and flew back to the cave I fell from. "Hah…! Phew…! That's scary," I wheezed as cold sweat seeped through my clothes.

I observed standing from the cave's entrance to find that I was located at the edge of the bottomless abyss. "Wait a minute! This is not a bottomless pit," I realized.

"I'm in the sky, so this is the bottom of the island," I exclaimed in shock.

"Oh! It is night. It's been a long time since I breathed fresh air," I lamented, taking a deep breath, and watching the abyss in silence.

"I don't know whether to laugh or cry at my situation!" I smiled wryly.

"Due to the memory attack, I don't feel lonely or got bored inside this cave," I commented, recalling the first thing I remembered after the attack.

"It's like a reset button," I laughed at this conclusion.

"I will rest and look around in the morning," I decided, then returned to the cave and slept after dinner. I woke up to a warm breeze blowing in the cave.

I looked around the cave groggily. "Where Am I?" I muttered, moving towards the direction the wind blew from; and looked out from the cave's entrance.

"Whoa! Where the hell I am?" I yelled in surprise, finding the clouds floating below.

"World's highest mountain or something," I speculated confusedly.

"How did I even get to this cave?" I wondered, searching for any protrusions below.

"Well, I'm going to explore the cave," I excitedly entered the cave 'again'.

"Here I come for, whatever in it," I yelled, pointing inside the cave, which caused the nail to extend from the finger.

"Whoa! I have claws." I examined it star-eyed, retracting and extracting it.

"What else do I have?" I questioned before a tail appeared in my view, announcing its presence. I watched it waving in front of my face.

"Am I controlling it, or is it moving on its own?" I wondered, reaching for it as it avoided me.

I gave up after finding the blinking watch on my wrist, "Hmm..." I touched it as it projected 'Reminder Note'.

«REMINDER NOTE »

» Phew, You FINALLY found the watch, at last. It seems the blink setting is working fine. Don't worry, it will only be visible when you look directly at it and won't attract others' attention if seen from a distance. I will clear your other doubts now.

» All of this is written by YOU..., What! you can't recall it? That's because You have short-term memory loss (STML). This Note is a backup prepared by 'You' for you.

» Do you know where you are? You must have already said the annoying 'Where Am I?'. That sentence can be used as a Title if this is written as a story... Psh!...let's not think about it...where were we now? Yeah, your situation, You are in One Piece World. Yeah..., THAT One Piece you are thinking of now.

» You can explore on your own or read this note fully. From here on, you are alone! And update the Note if you are alive. Good Luck. p.S. Read the Log Book to know more details.

» I changed some settings on the watch since it should be hidden. I set it in vibrate mode «BZZT» so it won't alert anyone who doesn't know about it. I have also changed the holograph to display directly on your skin - the forearm or the hand, so you can use it conspicuously. Change it if it is not useful.

"It's so cooool!" I gushed, reading the reminder note, then stopped walking some distance.

"Crap! I nearly walked back into the death trap." I patted my chest in relief.

I returned to the previous cave entrance "Ugh, The wind is blowing hard," I noted shielding myself with wings—Yeah, I got 60% control, of my wing after its injury—I inspected outside the cave through the gap I left in the wings and found a ledge some meter above the cave.

"It's better than nothing," I consoled myself, looking at the ledge.

"Lame Goggles or Cool Glasses?" I muttered, reaching for goggles and eyeing the watch in my hand.

"Lame Goggles it is," I chose, after thinking about the possibility of traps present to which the display on the glass will be a hindrance.

After I wore the goggles, I suddenly jumped outside without any indication. A sudden upward draft appeared, so I spread my wings and used them to glide upwards, passing the cave and reaching the ledge.

I folded my wings and landed smoothly on the ledge. "Whew! That went surprisingly well." I blinked in doubt.

"It's weird. Did the stupid God die?" I wondered vigilantly for any unfortunate event that happens frequently to me.

I looked around, discovering another foot-width ledge nearby; there are more similar ledges to it all over the wall. "It's clearly Plagiarism," I yelled, scrutinizing the POP game-like settings.

I extended my claws and started climbing the wall to reach the ledge above "Stupid body, can't even reach that ledge in one go," I complained about my small body.

"Maybe I should have flown all the way above," I grunted, climbing over one ledge.

"Nah! The wind is pretty strong here," I dismissed that idea, then thought of an easy solution.

I stopped climbing and scanned the ledge above me before inserting my claws in the wall as a hold, then leaning my body down and tensing my legs. I pulled my arms and kick the wall, leaping upwards to the ledge like released from the spring.

I extended my wings to avert being blown away by the strong wind; I caught the ledge and turned over it. "Hehe, it's doable, and the burden on the wings is negligible." I grinned at my success.

I continued to travel like this and became proficient in it. After I climbed over a ledge, I found there was no ledge above me, but this ledge extended sideways. I clung to the wall and moved in that direction.

Sometimes, I leaped sideways due to gaps in the ledge; At last, I reached the end of the ledge after turning a corner. I marveled at the path before me. "Is this continuation of the maze cave?" I gaped at the path which leads upward.

The path...well, it can't be described as a path because it is a combination of the rope bridge, pillars, rods, tightropes, and platforms made from a combination of all the above. It looks like debris stuck in a machine. There is also heavy wind blowing from random directions, which may push me off the path, to the blue sea below.

The path looks like it is floating in the air, but it is surprisingly sturdy, even when swayed hard by the heavy wind. Probably the weak materials were already blown away. The path… er- mess formed by the combination of these crude materials, machine parts, island geography, etc., can allow me to find a path through them. And they placed these machine parts in a calculative way like there is some use for them. My guess is this area is a part that keeps this island afloat.

I observed this weird structure and concluded that only by climbing this can I leave. "*sigh* should I go back to the cave full of traps or fall from 10000m?" I lamented at my situation.

My eyes shone brightly as I grinned excitedly "Hu...! All of my parkour experience in both lives is to be tested," I licked my lips at this challenge, stretching my body.

"I hope 'I' trained this body for Parkour," I muttered, removing the travel bag tied to my lower back since the wings were grown only from shoulder blades.

"This bag is a pain in the ass while using my wings," I complained before eating breakfast from it and resting my body.

After resting for a while, I secured the bag in the back. "Let it act as a handicap," I smirked shamelessly, glancing at the bag limiting the usage of the wings.

"I'm going to enjoy it after a long time and all of my injuries have been healed." I rubbed my hands excitedly, studying the floating path. The path is huge and winding.

"It will probably take me three days to climb it without any rest," I muttered, analyzing.

"I will take five days maximum due to emergencies and rest." I estimated the duration in anticipation.

I took a deep breath, then leaped to the nearest plank, and then walked across it, maintaining my balance. I jumped across to grab a bar, then used it to swing it to the next object. To equalize my height deficiency, I used my wings to increase the distance.

"I'm sure the people who build this are Prince of Persia fans," I complained before leaping to the next obstacle.

As I am crossing a rope bridge, the wind suddenly blew from the side, shaking the bridge, and nearly pushing me off. I curled and then used my wings to protect myself, gripping the bridge using my claws.

After the wind settled, I continued to climb this path by leaping, swinging, climbing, etc., on these obstacles. I looked down to see the path I overcame and a drop off the Island below it. "I wish I have the power to rewind time," I muttered enviously, reaching the first platform of the many above.

"At least they have some conscious," I surprisingly found water stored here. I checked the water for any poison or drugs and stored it in some water dials.

"What is this, a save point?" I complained dumbly about this plagiarism. As I climb higher, I began to doubt whether these were man-made instead of garbage in a turbine.

-o-

«Logbook Entry: 624 - Year:1511 -Early-August»

» I climbed the obstacle for five days continuously, I rested when I'm tired, and ate when hungry.

» As I climb higher, the difficulty also increases, like; the distance between the obstacles increased, the frequency of the rest platform decreased, and the wind blew stronger & frequently.

» The obstacles have been degraded - Rope Bridge became a rope ladder then into a rope, everything became unstable.

» Surprisingly, because of my memory attack, I did not have mental fatigue. And my mentality is the same from the start of the climb; excited and adrenaline-filled.

» Except when I nearly fell down or started climbing down or nearly jumping down or trying to dismantle the obstacle due to memory loss, everything went well.

» I even got proficient in predicting wind flow, from a small breeze to a harsh wind. I also increased my proficiency in controlling my wings.

.

As I reached neared the top, the obstacle annoyingly began to resemble reality game shows; with rotating planks, swinging pendulum balls, barrel rolls, etc. "There is a limit to the amount of plagiarism," I cursed crossing the drum roll with some difficulty.

After some difficulty, I reached the top of the path; I looked at the final ledge some distance in front of me. I calculated the distance to reach it before I could take any action. The wind suddenly blew out of nowhere from every direction and form some sort of cyclone in the gap between.

"What the hell...?" I cursed, waiting for the unstable wind to disperse, but the wind reappeared, nearly turning me over.

Then I started calculating the time of the appearance and disappearance of the wind. "Fuck! Does this even look natural?" I complained at the appearance of the wind.

"Now I think about it. All the place here since I landed is not natural," I deduced.

"The shape of the island, mechanics of the traps, emergence of the wind," I listed all the abnormalities.

"All of it can only be done artificially," I concluded and looked at the front to calculate the timing to jump across.

I observed the few-cycle of the wind appearing and disappearing, then activated Electro throughout my body. I jumped just before the cyclone dispersed.

I jumped slightly to the left and used the wind from the dispersing cyclone to glide along its clockwise path. The cyclone dispersed completely as I neared the ledge, so I flap my wings and landed on it.

"Yoohoo, I finally reached the top," I celebrated.

"Except for some hiccup due to someone's interference," I glared above at imaginative phantom God, thinking about how I nearly died when a rod abnormally changed shape during mid-swing.

After celebrating, I skimmed the surroundings. "I'm still underground?" I frowned unhappily at the underground environment. Then found an entrance to a cave.

"I only climbed up here after some difficulty," I yelled. "But this cave is obviously leading downwards," I cursed unhappily.

"I will never enter this cave even if I'm starved to death," I swore angrily.

Then started filling my stomach then laid down to rest after five days of climbing continuously.

I woke up after a few hours of sleep. "Where Am I?" I looked around the area and walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down, seeing many obstacles messed together to create a path.

I also can vaguely see a white dot below all the obstacles, which I assume to be an exit. I glanced behind at the entrance of the cave. "What the hell?" I scratched my head in doubt.

"Do I need to choose one of the ways to get down?" I muttered, looking around the area.

"Why the hell would anyone choose a hard way down?" I ridiculed this choice and entered the cave confidently as if my previous vow of not entering the cave was a ruse.

I entered the cave vigilantly while reading the forgotten 'Reminder Note'. By the time I finished reading, I was standing in the middle of the staircase leading down.

I stopped descending. "According to this, I climbed that difficult path up there for five days," I muttered, pointing my thumbs backward comparing it with the picture.

"Then why the hell I'm going down again?" I roared, turning to go up.

"The hell I'm going down, I rather-…" I cut off my rant, looking at my hand pressing on a protrusion, *click* *clack* *clunk* then I heard the sound of gears changing.

"Why the hell is the trap Child shaped?" I cursed because it can only be triggered by kids or seated. *click* *click* *click* "Woah!" the stairs changed into slide a classic trap.

"I know this is going to happen," I grinned, grabbing the ground with my claws *screeeeeech* *schlik* drawing claw marks as I slid down before stopping.

"Ow ow! ouch! It hurts!" I cried out in pain, as it's one thing to use my claws to climb, but not cool to make a new hole.

"I'm not going down anymore," I declared, hanging on to the slide in pain, *clink* *clank* and suddenly heard gear sounds, I looked up to see the stairs getting retracted into the wall *swish* *swish*.

"Oh! Shit!" I cussed in anger.
