Notes: Sorry for the late chapter, I explain in the bottom notes.
Chapter 49 From the Ashes Arises…
On the planet now known and designated as Oppai. A great battle had taken place, and only one victor stood abroad on the battlefield.
The beautiful Aspen Forest was now cleared out and replaced with fields of white ash. There is nothing organic left, only shards of metal and vestiges of what was Ork Gargants. Sticking out of the pile of dead.
A figure was completely burnt and alone. Trying to pull himself across the no man's land, grasping for life, fighting the inevitable of his death. The hulking figure was breathing completely ragged. The only thing pulling him across is his one arm. Legendary war boss Bigclompa was trying to survive, only for a fiery blade to shoot down, piercing him through the back and pinning him to the ground.
"Ah! YOU DANG ZOGGIN BEAST!" Bigclompa yelled. The Ork felt his lungs being filled with blood as he coughed, finally feeling the end. Bigclompa glanced up at the single warrior who had defeated an entire Ork Wah! The Angel glared down at the War Boss. Her face has no anger or contempt, not even any pride.
This was what she was made for killing, she was a tool used for war but discarded. Still, The Angel was an instrument of destruction why would she celebrate?
Bigclonmpa sighed. "YOUZ PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT; THE BOYz HAD A GOOD TIMEZ."
The Angel stared at the alien, not understanding why her enemy was thanking her. Strange, but she wasn't too dense with the idea of honor.
"You…" The Angel hesitated but eventually gave in. "You were opponents that lasted longer than I anticipated."
"Eh, Lair, we didn't even make you flinch," The Warboss said. The Angel said nothing, pulling out the blade and hoisting it over the war boss's head. Bigclompa nodded and looked at the Angel.
"Some of the boyz got off this planet; The Beast will love this… Alright, get on with it,"
The sound of a blade sinking into flesh echoed through the desolate wastes. The Ork let out a gasp of air before falling into silence. The Corps began to be covered in bright white flames. His body burned into ash. The Angel was quiet, and she was familiar with being alone.
'Ehehehehe."
The sound of laughter made the Angel look behind her. Seeing an Elranel star, the Eldar Harlequin watching her. The Angel grabbed her sword, but the xeno didn't move nor felt threatened.
"You have such a dull and boring performance; perhaps you could spice it up with others?" She said out loud. The Angel still pointed her blade at the eldar, slowly walking to her.
"Is that all you do? Is it just to kill, or do you want vengeance?"
The Angel turned around to see three others standing by. The prototype Matriarch knew these were her successors. Looking at them, she held no care in her eyes. The ones who stared back were Alpharius, Icarion, and Malayalam.
"So you wishh take out the Emperor?" Alpharius asked.
".." The Angel said nothing.
"Why do you have such great intent of wanting to kill us? Do you plan to take on the emperor all by your lonesome, that's such an impossible task. He will pin you by troops in a matter of months if you even try to storm the Golden Castle, it certainly will lead to your demise." Icarion asked.
"Why do you even try to convince me when you know fully well I could kill you all?" The Angel asked. Her power began to flare. These individuals had their heads too high up compared to the Angel. They needed to be brought down. Yet this mighty power beamed out of control, and the rebellious matriarchs stood tall, fighting against that magnificent power.
"You want to disobey your father, but you still destroy things. The subject he made you for. If you think that this is the way, you're surely mistaken," Alpharius said. The Angel felt frustrated and kept overflowing her power around her.
"What do you know! I shall watch everything he has burn. He has lied to us about the corruption of chaos. Humanity may never be truly free from it unless chaos is taken out of the equation! That is the only way!" She shouted.
"You still follow the programming he gave you, pretend that you are not his creation, but still act on the basic instinct that you were given by him!" Alpharius shouted. Malayalam forced herself to move closer to the Angel.
"If you go on this genocidal rampage, it will solve nothing. You will be playing right back in his hands "
"Silence!" the Angel's voice struck them down with the force of a righteous fury as if the gates of heaven opened and ordered them to stand down. The Angel was about to stab the ground, preparing to unleash a wave of hellfire. The other matriarchs watched in horror, being wrong that reason would be possible with the Angel, but they didn't regret their actions. It was better to die free than be a soldier for their father.
"Wait!"
The Angel felt a psychic power enter her mind. It wouldn't be able to overwhelm her or take control, but it was able to communicate. Looking at Elranel, she slowly took off her mask to reveal her face. It was completely calm, lacking any emotion. "Do you want to kill the emperor or destroy him? There have been thousands of countless warriors who have tried to do the same pointless Crusade that you have done. However, each one has failed. If you wish to take down an empire, you must build your own. A dragon may only fight another dragon. A king can only be challenged by another King. You must understand that if you continue following this path. You will always be his instrument of destruction with no one wielding it,"
"Then why ask me anything?" The Angel asked.
"Because you're the only one who can stand against him!" Elranel shouted. "But that doesn't mean you can fight his armies, you need us as much as we need you!"
The Angel paused and began to truly ponder. Thinking of the implications, would she be able to achieve such vengeance? The Angel finally looked at them. A new emotion of desolation filled her mind: what would be the point if she failed?
"Then what do I do?"
Elranel smiled, feeling the wave of psychic energy finally concedes. "You must overthrow him by joining us! If not, then you will surely die alone,"
The other matriarchs were able to stand without resistance. Each one glancing at the Angel in empathy.
"We have all been betrayed; our duty did not call for us to go beyond and above. We were just too good at our tasks." Malayalam said.
"Some of us made into examples if we betrayed the emperor," Icarion said.
The Angel could feel the truth from her words. However, she could see the contamination of chaos spreading through all of them. She stood there motionless, not knowing to act on her instinct, which was designed by her father, or to go against it. Did she ever have a choice in the first place? Would the emperor even allow it?
"You don't even have a name, do you?" Alpharius asked.
The Angel didn't respond as she flew away from them. The force of her wings split the clouds above. Lost in her echoes, not knowing if she would be able to join a cause where people understood her pain. Could that small band of misfits be enough to start an empire to rival one that had conquered so much? It was logical, but one can only hope. Even when she cleared, she outmatched all of them.
The Angel looked down at herself. "What is even my name?"
Issei stood in front of Fulgrim. The air between them was interesting. Issei had been lustfully gazed at by others. However, Fulgrim was different, being that her gaze felt like he was being stripped naked as if she could see right through his clothing.
Fulgrim couldn't help herself. It was just so easy to make Issei blush. She understood the basics of human attraction. It all starts with a simple glance. It shows another person that you are interested in them, that if you stare at them, you show how special they are. It makes the individual think, why is this person looking at me when there are so many other things? But Fulgrim sincerely meant it, for her, Issei was the only thing she could look at in this extremely well-decorated, beautiful room.
"So yeah, we need to talk about this," Issei said, pointing at himself and back at Fulgrim. "Why are you in love with me? I'm pretty sure we tried to kill each other at one point."
Fulgrim sat in her chair and pondered on the question. "It's hard to explain. I think the first time I met you, I couldn't help but be attracted to you. The very idea of me intimidating you sounded fun. Yet, the more I tried to make you submit, it gave me a sudden realization that I have no control,"
Leaving out the part that she would constantly think about him for days, when they were stranded together.
"Control over what?" Issei raised an eyebrow.
"Over my idea of what perfection is. I've dedicated my life to being the best I could in every subject. And I pride myself when I became a master at sports, arts, and combat. Never did I realize that I won't be perfect."
"Why did you want to be perfect?" Issei asked. Fulgrim huffed and glanced at the ground.
"It was for the emperor of Mankind, my father. The first time I met him, I was brought to tears at who he was. For a long time, I've been trying to live up to the high expectations I've given myself. I wanted to be like my father. To be perfect for every occasion, there is no doubt of failure." The dream that Fulgrim once had now, in a more reasonable perspective, seemed impossible. It wasn't who she was to be perfect. It was the journey of learning and bettering herself every day.
"Who I am right now is enough. You showed me that," Fulgrim admitted.
"How did I do that, to be honest, from my perspective? All we just did was go to an argument, fight each other, and then you just fell in love," Issei said honestly.
"Well, from your point of view, yes, that's all very true, but from mine, learning how you use your imperfections to boost yourself rather than hold you down made me realize I was foolish. And when I fought you, I was able to achieve a state that I didn't even think was possible. To me, you are important because you've taught me a lesson I may never forget," Fulgrim expressed calmly.
"And what's that?" Issei asked.
"That there's more to me than the purpose I was made for," Fulgrim said with a bright blush. "Something you saw firsthand,"
"Yeah, since we're on the subject. How is that special form? Have you ever been able to transform again?" Issei asked. Fulgrim looked away shyly.
"No, I haven't been able to master it, I think I might need to be in a tense situation. Sort of life and death for it to be active, Maybe it activates on intense stress?" Fulgrim said to herself. Issei huffed in nostalgia.
"Yeah, I've been there," Issei said, remembering the time when he lost control of his Sacred Gear. Fulgrim raised an eyebrow and moved closer to Issei.
"You speak from personal experience?" Fulgrim asked.
"You don't know the half of it, when I had Ddraig with me, he would sort of react to my emotions. When I was tense, he would awaken a new form. When I thought one of my friends died, my juggernaut form just took over. I completely blew up a castle and even hurt some of my friends… not my best moment," Issei said sadly, bringing his knees to his chest. "Lost control, but I'm sure you are getting better control than me."
Fulgrim gently put her hand on Issei's back, gently rubbing it.
"Maybe you could help me, and it sounds like you could use more of the company, Mr. Sad Boy," Fulgrim jokes. Issei laughed and slowly relaxed, with all the time he'd been trying to make them laugh. He was reminded that the ones he loved could easily take care of him. Fulgrim nuzzled closer to him, Issei felt his breath hitched, feeling Fulgrim's soft breasts push against his right body.
"I wouldn't mind spending more time with you, and you can say that you wouldn't prefer, but I know deep in your heart you wouldn't reject someone who's been through so much. So look me in the eye and tell me truly. That you don't want me to be in your harem or love me in any capacity."
Issei thought it out, deciding to accept that challenge. Turning to his right, looking at Fulgrim, he saw the bright, beautiful amethyst eyes that shined with such brilliance that diamonds would turn red from embarrassment. Issei looked within himself, asking if he yearned for those eyes to be only looking at him. Some men would have died for these eyes, and now they were on him.
Taking another glance, fully seeing all of her. A Lightning Phoenix was showing its softer side. Issei slowly smiled and held the hand back.
"Yeah, I want you in the harem. I know the others might have a problem, but honestly, maybe we can start to get to know each other better. Maybe some training sometime soon," Issei said with an honest smile. The same one that made her heart flutter.
"Issei, I love you, darling," Fulgrim said, snatching him into a warm embrace. Issei shrugged his shoulders. Hugging back as some parts of Fulgrim softly pushed against his body.
"Yeah, Yeah, you crazy girl!" Issei said as he was let go. "So after I take Konrad on a date, where would you like to go?"
Instead of a dreamy sigh or blushing of a schoolgirl. What Issei heard would be engraved in his mind forever. A laugh of seduction that he had only one from one, and that was Akeno. This was on another level, not a joking manner to play on his ego. It was a laugh that said you're mine, and I can do what I want with you. Fulgrim hands were flat on the couch. She began to crawl toward him like how a jaguar stocks its prey.
"That's so sweet of you, but I'll handle training on my own. Show me gratitude and kindness to any regular woman. Unfortunately, you know, I am not ordinary. So I want the main course now," Fulgrim said slowly, approaching Issei, who was nervously crawling to the other end of the couch. He stopped when he felt his back hit the armrest.
"Hey Fulgrim, maybe we're moving to…" He was silenced by fingers being placed over his lips.
"Hush! I can feel your urges as you can feel mine, so in my opinion, fuck waiting. Let's get to the best part," Fulgrim said in a very slow, seductive, and demanding way. Issei felt his heart out of control. He just wanted to accept the deal, but he needed to be better and not be some reckless hound dog.
"I appreciate the offer, Fulgrim, but- Oh my god!" Issei gasped, Fulgrim, in an incredibly swift motion, took off her toga, revealing nothing was under it. Beautiful, flawless skin, a bountiful pair of breasts, and was on display in her form in the nude, all for him to bear witness to. Her hand slithered down to the bottom of his shirt and slid under it, the warm hand grazed over his muscle-tone body, which Fulgrim relished.
Her head shot toward his neck, softly nibbling it until reaching up to his ear. Issei is lost in paralysis of lust, as if a spell was just put on him, making him refuse to move.
The soft breath that danced across his ear made Issei shiver.
"If you relieve yourself from any more of that subpar garbage. It's going to make me crazy, wouldn't you want to go on your date with Konrad with a little more experience," The offer made had completely overtaken Issei, and he slammed his lips against Fulgrim. The matriarch, taken back, quickly returned the kiss, lips touched. Issei's eyes widened, his Fulgrim tongue gently pushing against his teeth, asking to be let in.
Fulgrim had eyes half open. She was enjoying the kiss, but she wanted to see the pure blessing that Issei would be giving her, call it from a sense of pride, or she just wanted to see her handiwork. Issei was lost in the kiss; their tongues danced around each other. Even if there was a size difference, it still felt like a perfect fit.
"Hmph, look at you, Issei, I finally have you here. You're under my grasp, and I won't let you go until the end of this night. I can't wait for you to yearn for me again and again every night." Fulgrim thought that her lover was wrapped around her finger until Issei pulled away. Fulgrim thinking, he pulled away to get a breath of air. Only to moan as she found her neck being attacked by Issei's mouth.
The soft kisses against your skin felt incredible. Her hands balled into fists.
"Issei~," Fulgrim moaned. "More please~!"
Hearing the cries, he was hypnotized by the pleading. He felt so greedy he wanted more than this. He wanted all of her. However, he wanted to make sure people knew that. His primal instinct suddenly just kicked in, his mouth open slightly. He hovers over her lower right neck. His teeth turned black as the shadow began to infuse itself into the bite of Fulgrim flesh.
The matriarch let out a surprise yelp. She didn't move away or push Issei aside. The pain and pleasure that Issei gave her made her toes curl. The young man pulled away, showing his mouth was dripping with blood. Fulgrim glanced at the mark that he had made.
"You bite me?"
Issei lazily smiled. "Yeah, I did. Sorry I guess dragons habits die hard,"
There was no flesh wound, only a black circle, her hand grazed over it. A ring of darkness was permanently placed on her; this was a mark. A distinction that she was now taken by someone.
Staring at Issei with a surprised front. Licking the blood from his lips, giving a seductive smile to her. Fulgrim felt her cheeks blush. Her hand went to cover her mouth, and she couldn't believe it. She had let out a gasp. Before she could say another thing, Issei took off his shirt, showing the self-inflicted scar across his body. Then his hand shot out his hand cupping the bottom of her chin. Issei used his strength, Pulling Fulgrim closer to his face.
"Fulgrim, I've never said this to anyone, but I don't think I can control myself right now, so sorry if I scare you," Issei breathed in an intense tone. Fulgrim could see the heat from Issei's breath like a monster was finally awakened from his slumber.
Her heart was beating incredibly fast like it wanted to break out of her chest. It was as if she was now prey.
"Issei Darling?" She slurred his words, drunk with embarrassment. What was happening to her, she had lost all sense of control. How was this happening? Issei leans in to give another round of passionate kissing.
Fulgrim could have stayed like this forever. Issei stopped and separated himself from her. That look of raw passion is gone now, replaced with a sly grin. She shook her head and put her hands on Issei's chest.
"No, no, no… bring back sexy Issei!" Fulgrim begged. Issei let out a laugh, and a chilling aura suddenly came over her. Fulgrim let out a tired sigh. Knowing fully well who was behind her
"Konrads right behind me, isn't she?" Fulgrim asked, annoyed. Issei nodded. Fulgrim spun around to see Konrad with a furious expression.
Konrad drew claws and pointed them inches away from Fulgrim's throat. "It appears you are going to have to remind yourself of a very important lesson in Chastity."
Fulgrim, still unafraid, scoffed at her sister. Issei was slightly worried about the altercation that was about to begin, but he could feel the energy bouncing off them. He was waiting for Konrad's fear tactic to try and scare off Fulgrim.
"Why are you here, weren't you in your room, enjoying sharpening your blades," Fulgrim said without hesitation.
"I was... until a vision showed me that you would take advantage of Issei! I refuse to let that happen, so I'm here to make sure that my dream is fulfilled!" Konrad said. Issei couldn't help but feel something unknown feeling.
"Why must you ruin the best parts of my day?" Fulgrim asked sarcastically.
"Don't act coy with me. I saw how you played with his emotions. keep yourself in check, or else I will skin you alive and then wait until your skin grows back just to do the process all over again." Konrad said harshly.
"Then that painful punishment would be worth it, just to spend some sweat time with Issei!" Fulgrim said, only to find the blade closer to her neck. Issei couldn't help but see a little of himself in Fulgrim. Wanting to fight for love.
"On second thought, good things happen to people who wait," Fulgrim quickly corrected herself. She then found her purple toga to be thrown right in front of her face.
"Put some clothes on. I can't believe you went commando under that clothing; have you no shame!" Konrad said.
"I did, but it kind of went away the moment I threw it on the ground," Fulgrim said sarcastically. Konrad got up close and shoved the dress in front of her chest.
"Well, put it back on, and you!" Konrad pointed at Issei. The young teen froze fiercely. Feeling the aura of the Night Hunter shrouds him.
"Issei, seeing how promiscuous you are being right now, perhaps a little incentive should make you follow through on my dream," Konrad said with a serious front. Issei awkwardly chuckled and looked away.
"You don't have to, I just-ACK!" Issei was startled when Konrad zoomed by his ear, gently whispering into it. She spoke so quietly that not even a matriarch who was only a couple of feet away from them could hear—a gift at being the night hunter.
Fulgrim glanced at the two and could only watch as Issei's face blushed. He slowly turned around to face Konrad with a bright red blush. Fulgrim huffed in annoyance.
"Uhh, you don't have to do that? I mean, you can't be serious," Issei asked, stunned by what he was offered. Konrad flashes a cocky grin, an already true victorious expression towards Fulgrim.
"Darling, what did she tell you?" Fulgrim asked. Before Issei could speak, he found himself swept off his feet. Being carried by Konrad in a bridal style.
"Put on some damn clothes Fulgrim," Konrad stormed out of the room. Kicking down the door, leaving a stunned doctor. Fulgrim was speechless and couldn't speak.
"What the hell just happened?" She thought. Fulgrim was confused, but her fingers gently touched the mark left behind. "Oh darling, I love the way you kiss me."
Konrad marched into the halls. Issei was still being carried, he wished the girls he loved in this style, but getting used to it was hard.
"Konrad, why are you doing this? besides showing your domination over me!" Issei said, trying to hold on for dear life. "I thought you didn't even wanna see me again until the date?"
Konrad rolled her eyes, yet the smile on her face told another story. "My visions warned me if you went alone. There could be trouble happening all around the ship, so I'm going to help you on your quest to speak to the others: Angron, Lorgar, Sanguinius, Russ, Magnus, The Lion, Mortarion, and Perturabo. If you keep it up, you might have a whole collection."
"Wait! When was Perturabo on the list? And I pretty much thought Mortarion didn't think much of me," Issei asked.
"Don't worry, you'll see her soon, somehow, in my vision, even when I tried to intervene, you always still managed to meet them all, so instead of trying to prevent this, and knowing you, do railing destiny. I thought it would be better if I guided you there, but leave a message for all of those for my other sisters, I still want you all to myself," Konrad beamed with determination, wanting to steal the prince for herself. Issei crossed his arms and pouted. He wasn't some common house husband. He wanted it all.
"It's race, Konrad, there has to be a winner," Issei calmly said.
"And a loser," The Night Hunter moved in a blur. "Speaking of a loser, you're about to meet one of the people who I will surpass,"
The two were walking past a corner when Konrad tossed Issei. The young teen was taken back but landed on the floor.
"Konrad, stop holding me like a ragdoll!" Issei said.
"Issei!"
Facing the person who called out his name. Seeing the lord of iron. With a calm, emotionless face, yet under the mask was a wave of excitement.
"Hey, Perturabo, it's been a while, how are you doing?" Issei said. Perturabo is a genius capable of thinking of strategies on the spot. A hammer that could have smashed the most impenetrable defenses set up by the bravest of warriors. A genius capable of understanding the most complex of machines.
"Greeting, Issei, it's nice to eat you," Perturabo paused for a moment. Issei turned his head at Konrad, perhaps mishearing. Konrad couldn't help but giggle, and she had a hand over her mouth. Perturabo cleared her throat, not understanding what had just happened. She tried to repeat herself.
"Issei, it's nice to eat you, I mean to treat you, I mean… apologies, it appears I am. Stumbling over my words. I guess the stress of returning to my legion is bothering me!" Perturabo said, mentally punching herself in the face. Issei certainly looked at the matriarch with oddity.
"Is she okay?" Issei asked Konrad, who was hiding behind the wall, with a victorious smile.
"Oh, Perturabo, how you don't know small talk, it appears years of spending alone tinkering at your machinery does that to a person's social life," Konrad thought.
"Hey, I get it. It's probably some nerve-racking times. So, are you doing alright?" Issei said, trying to defuse the stress.
"Yes!" Perturabo quickly answered. She grinded her teeth, cringing at herself. Perturabo didn't understand what was happening.
"Get it together! You are here to make a friend! Ask about having an activity together!" Perturabo yelled in her mind.
"Yo, Perturabo, you good?" Issei asked. Perturabo quickly regained her poise. The Queen of Iron has returned, be it a bit rusty.
"So, I was wondering if, if, if, you and I could perhaps sometime work on some models!" Perturabo said. Issei nodded and happily accepted the offer.
"That sounds great, but it might take a while. I have a date with Konrad when I'm free afterward I'd love to filter models with you! I'd love to see your brush techniques, or are you one of those people who use an airbrush?" Issei asked. He was a great sculptor, and he liked to paint mountain trains and build Gundams.
"Why yes, I do, yet I prefer to mix my own. An airbrush is good at handling most things, but for smaller details, I do like to use the brush more," Perturabo explained. Issei nodded in approval. The matriarch felt joy finding something that they could bond over to bloom this friendship more.
"I swear priming them can be such a hassle. I think the black prime brings out the colors more!" Issei commented. Perturabo shook her head, disagreeing with him.
Konrad peeked around the corner, gasping at the two. "Oh no, their bonding!"
"Believe it or not, the key to a better base prime is gray. Black, it's too overwhelming. It won't make the small details pop."
Issei put his hand on honest hips, thinking he was just being challenged to a hobby war. "If you want those details to paint, use more layers of it,"
"Hmm, only a fool would use multiple layers on such small details," Perturabo said. Issei, sticking out his chest, proudly pointed to himself.
"You are talking to a junior champion model painter. I'd like to see you beat that!" Issei said. Perturabo stood silent for a moment. Issei felt himself having a cold shiver down his spine. That pride he had vanished from seeing Perturabo coldly staring down at him.
"Pathetic, you're speaking to the person who built the walls of Olympia! I would destroy you in a competition,"
"Then let's see who wins. Of course, after my date with Konrad, you better bring your A-game! Queen of Iron,"
Perturabo felt a little spark of joy when her title was said by Issei, be it the joyful tone or perhaps it was the respect of it. She couldn't believe she was doing this right now, bantering with another person. Someone not of equal intelligence but willing to challenge her.
"If all you've done are Gundams, then you are no match for me. After your date with Konrad, I will show you the distance between me and you."
"Ah, you underestimate my mad crafting skills!" Issei said in aesthetic joy. Perturabo felt so happy. She was able to set up an activity for herself and Issei, never did she feel so alive to have a friend. Without warning, she ran off to her quarters at a very fast pace, leaving a smirking Issei behind and astonished Konrad.
Issei waved goodbye. Perhaps it was just him, but it felt nice to talk to somebody who shared his hobbies before then, he didn't know too many people who made models and spent hours painting them. It was something he was so shy about he never even revealed it to Rias and the others. Maybe it was just a hobby that he didn't think it was manly to talk about.
"Feeling happy?" Konrad asked. Issei nodded, knowing the matrix was right behind him.
"That felt good. It's nice to meet people who share the same passions as you do, I mean, do you make models, Konrad?" Issei asked. Konrad paused at the question, remembering a specific moment when she sculpted a statue to resemble the Emperor of mankind. It was the materials that she used that were very questionable.
"Konrad, have you ever done any tiny art projects?" Issei asked. Konrad awkwardly scratches the back of her neck.
"A little, but I don't wanna talk about it, just sort of a little interest, that's all," Konrad said awkwardly. Issei found that to be strange.
"Maybe I could give you some lessons," Issei said, genuinely wanting to see if Konrad had a natural touch when it came to art. Thinking about the offer that the matriarch heard gave her a mischievous smile. One she should flash when she tortured people, but instead, she used more typically.
"Want your alone time with me, can't you wait until we have the date? You devilish little imp," Konrad jokes. Issei rolled his neck, getting ready for some heavy banter.
"What I can say, used to be a devil,"
"More like an incubus!" Konrad jokes. Issei gave a fake gasp.
"The Night Hunter with a sense of humor, that's impossible,"
Konrad simply picked him up and carried him along, any argument that he had soon faded. This truly was the ultimate comeback. Issei huffed in defeat and crossed his arms.
"You know I can carry you with no problem whatsoever," Issei said. Konrad shrugged it off, looking nonchalantly forward.
"You could, but us matriarchs look better carrying you. I mean, you are our little love!"
Issei felt his pride was hurt a tiny bit. "So, who are we talking to next, or is it a guessing game? Please don't tell me it's going to be random. I had a plan for this,"
"No, I know who exactly is coming up. Especially the next one, you're going to kill two criminals with one dagger." She said with a careless tone. Issei gasped at the news.
"I'm gonna kill two people with a knife!" Issei yelled in a panic.
"No! I meant in a figurative sort of matter. You know the old saying: kill two birds with one stone! Nothing to do with the murder!" Konrad tried to correct herself.
"Then who are we meeting?" He asked.
"A Priest that follows logic and A great big wolf," Konrad said vaguely, wanting to keep her lover on his toes. He wanted to surprise him, which led to him being disarmed about what to say. Then, perhaps a possibility of making her dream come true.
"It's going to be Lorgar and Russ in the next room, isn't it?" Issei flatly said.
Konrad was silent, and I didn't wanna answer the question because Issei had gotten it right again.
"I'll take that as a yes," Issei said. Konrad sighed, I mean, what was the point of a surprise, and if he's just gonna figure it out?
"You're no fun," Konrad said.
"I'm plenty of fun, especially in the bedroom," Issei said cooly. That was soon deflated when Konrad poked it with the truth.
"Whatever, virgin!" Konrad smirked at the jab. "Issei my love the only way to truly capture your heart, is to claim you're virginity, I plan to make that statement at the meeting. Then maybe Sanguinius might back off!"
Malcador sat at the meeting table, glanced at the men around the room, and nodded his head. With a tap of his staff, all of them were awaiting his orders.
He looked at the clock on the wall soon, the meeting would begin, even though they were in the emperor's flagship, he couldn't help but feel at this moment that there was a storm yet to come. However, it felt off that something was watching them.
He let out a calm sigh.
"Hmm, notify the others quickly. I will begin the meeting in about ten hours from now and keep security up to date,"
Those who listened about their heads and quickly left the room.
"This meeting may determine the future of the Imperium. To sway them to the right path. I must sway the one they love... " Malcador bridged his hands and sat in pondering mood. "Issei, are you a man who values the future no matter the sacrifice, or are your ideals just a façade so that you may destroy us from the inside? Only time will tell,"
"Lord Malcador! We have a problem coming from the north side of the ship, A troop of Iron hands has been marching around asking questions, they seek justice for their matriarch. The first captain is leading the investigation," The loyal scribe said.
"Send a Message to Valdor; he'll sort it out," Malcador said, having other things on his mind.
"Of course, my lord, only there is one problem: we aren't able to locate them, we believe they're using state-of-the-art cloaking to hide themselves,"
"They're not if I know an Iron Hand, their the last Legion to use stealth. They're hacking into the ship's main frame. This crime is very unforgivable, find them now. And alert Ferrus of this unforgivable action!" Malcador ordered. Why did this have to happen? Fate was a cruel thing, but yet it was also they had to test people's resolve. What would happen next, what was yet to come? Malcador would see it through to the end. Hopefully, he would get to Issei before the Iron Hands did.
Erebus had waited patiently in the shadows, in his chains, he found a way to escape. However, he was not unpinned by them yet. He began to slowly move his wrist, harshly against the metal, making his skin fall apart and tear as his blood became lubricant.
He would escape from the cell he was just waiting for the watchful eyes to look the other way.
Erebus froze when the top floor upon them started to shake. The sisters of silence in the jail sale quickly moved to the hall, wanting to investigate. Erebus had a devilish smile on his face. This was the moment of escape; he began to rapidly pull on his cuffs, making sure the edge was cutting into his wrist.
Kor Phaeron looked at them wondering what was happening. A thought went through his mind, perhaps this was a chance to escape, but how would he do it?
"Erebus it appears we have an opportunity to freedom. Now the real question what is our first step to get out of this cage?" Kor Phaeron asked, only for his cellmate to be quiet. He found that strange, Erebus would never waste a moment, especially at a time like this. Where was the scheming and want for power for the chaos gods? Turning around he saw Erebus free from his chains, but his hands and wrist were completely mangled. The blood dripped on the floor off the edge of his fingertips.
Kor Phaeron could see the madness in Erebus's eyes. It was like looking into a dark pit. "There is only one thing left to do, to finish our pilgrimage."
Erebus slowly walked to Kor Phaeron like a deranged animal. "What is happening? Erebus what are you doing!' He shouted.
Erebus only moved foward. "Kor Phaeron, thank you. This is the only time anyone will say this: you're going to be part of something bigger than you can imagine. You are now finally worthy of being it. A tool for the great powers, be happy, Kor Phaeron. The next form you become shall be more useful than you have been in you're entire life,"
"What are you doing, stand back!" Kor Phaeron said backing away. His back hit the bars of the jail cell. He felt fear running through his body. He tried to throw a punch but Erebus grabbed his arm and snapped in a tight grasp. Kor Phaeron cried in pain, falling to his knees. He wasn't a true space marine, a human given special adaptations to be a warrior but compared to the real deal he was just a cheap copy.
Kor Phaeron spun around gripping the bars. "HELP! Please someone help me!"
Erebus laughed, for once the true colors of Kor Phaeron showed a coward afraid of death.
"Someone! Help me!" Kor Phaeron yelled as tears began to leave his eyes. A swift hand gripped the back of his head and slammed his head against the bars. Then he was tossed across the room. Kor Phaeron looked at Erebus and raised his hand in a pleading manner.
"Please don't kill me! I'll give you anything. Just don't kill me!" Kor Phaeron cried. Erebus paused and smiled at the Word Bearer.
"You'll give me anything, I need a weapon," Erebus asked.
"YES! I'll get you a weapon like no other just let me go. Tell me what it is!"
Erebus grabbed Kor Phaeron by the neck and hoisted him off the ground. "I need a blade made of a follower of chaos,"
Kor Phaeron had panic wirtten in his eyes. Trying to free himself.
"This won't hurt much, It's going to hurt a lot!" Erebus laughed. Then crushed the head of Kor Phaeron.
