Chapter: A Normal Day...?

.

.

.

On a busy, festive night, "HELLO! Ladies and gentlemen. Gather around, I will announce some amazing news!" a man who seemed to be of a longarm tribe called. The people around gathered slowly, and curiously.

"Are you enjoying the festival?" he cheered. The gathered crowd chorused in acknowledgment.

All the people are wearing various distinct masks. They slowly gathered here after hearing the cheers. "Yeah...! yeah..! You guys do not have enough time to listen to my ramble now," he satirized in a neutral voice. The crowd jeered at him.

"So, I won't waste your busy time. Let's get to the point." He waved his abnormal stick-like longarms, covered behind a cloak. The crowd went silent.

"You must have heard about the sea train? Right?" he inquired knowingly. The crowd chorused in Joy after hearing it.

"It has been successfully built and has traveled many times between Water 7 and Enies Lobby," he revealed enthusiastically. "And the next Island, lucky enough to get the Sea Train connected to is...!" he increased their appetite. "IS HERE! SAN FALDO!" he yelled, detonating the crowd's enthusiasm.

The crowd cheered and chattered joyfully, "After the sea train is successfully connected here, the trade will be easier. Even during the storm," he continued. "And this island will become the only one who supplied iron to water 7," he showed.

"Then all of you will be rich... even the miner's salary will be increased," he revealed. The crowd cheered. "And then the festivals can be celebrated daily, not weekly once, and truly become a CARNIVAL ISLAND!" he implied, increasing the crowd's eagerness.

He waited for the crowd to calm down, then "So, you must know how important transportation is?" he grinned behind his Devil's mask.

"For example., During a festival time, you are enjoying in a shop, and suddenly you heard that another shop is conducting an event, with a hefty price as a reward," he began. "You quickly rush towards that shop, on the other side of the Island." He gestured.

"And by the time you reached there, the event was over, and you even had a high chance of winning. How frustrating will you feel?" he questioned them. Many of them wailed exaggeratedly.

"Oh! It seems many of you had experienced it," he chuckled. "Worry not, I have a perfect solution for it, and it's only open tonight," he announced as the crowd gasped at the news.

The cloaked figure of that man moved awkwardly like he was not used to. "Now, look at the water canal behind me," he pointed, as the people watched. "It will help deliver you to a different location," he explained. All of them watched in confusion.

Knowing their doubt, "Did you see the town map marked with numbers on a different location?" He pointed at a large map on a noticeboard nearby.

"You just need to select the number closest to your destination and pick the wooden plank marked with the same numbers from there." he pointed at the wooden planks stacked nearby.

"Then get into the canal, either on top of the plank or float with it, be sure the numbers on the plank are visible underwater," he detailed. "Then you will reach your designated place within a few seconds," he finished.

"And, it's only 100 Berries," he assured them. The crowd looked confused at the setup. "Don't worry, it is safe and easy to use," he reassured them.

"Furthermore, you won't know when you will get lost," he pointed out. "Sometimes, even if you follow the right way, the things around will move on their own, getting us lost," he guaranteed, eyes gleaming green through the eyehole of his mask. Yup, you guessed it, this is me.

The crowd looked confused and speechless at this revelation. Looking at the silent crowd, I sighed. "How about a volunteer? So others can know how it works," I proposed. "And it's free," I implied.

The crowd looked at each other. "I will try," a woman with a fish mask came forward.

"Oh! Here comes a brave lady," I enthusiastically welcomed her. "It's free, right?" she asked.

"Yeah, it's free only this time," I nodded. "So, select a number near your destination and pick a plank with the same number," I introduced, and she went to pick it.

I turned to the crowd, looking disdainful. "You guys don't even have the courage of a single woman," I mocked them.

The crowd became frenzy At my word, and over fifty people rushed forward. "I will do it," a bull-masked man yelled.

"Me, me, me," a rat-masked person asked. "Who are you calling coward? I will prove you wrong," a lion-masked old man proclaimed. "I will be the second woman to do it and prove men are cowards," a butterfly-masked woman vowed.

"Ok, calm down and form a line," I comforted and asked them to throw the money in an open bag nearby since I can't collect money using the stick I'm holding.

"Ok, wait a minute, I will help the lady over there." I moved the bag to safety and reached towards the lady who had selected a plank.

"Lady, are you ready? Just sit on the plank and everything will be fine," I assured her.

"Nagagagaga! Don't worry, nothing will happen to me inside the water. And I'm only curious about your plan," she laughed, pushing the plank into the water canal and then jumping on it.

I stiffened hearing her laugh. 'Fuck! This laugh, is this Kokoro? What is she doing here? And she is tall?' I stared blankly. 'Is she alone, or Franky & co, are also here?' I wondered.

"Nagagagaga, I'm ready," Kokoro yelled excitedly. 'I now know why her granddaughter is adventurous,' I grumbled.

Then the water in the canal swirled before a stream of water shot from the lake, carrying Kokoro along with it, towards the direction stated in the plank. "NAGAGAGAGAGA!" Kokoro laughed, then landed safely beyond our sight. Well, it's night, anyway.

'Jinbe can safely deliver people if it is within a one-kilometer radius,' I nodded. 'So no need to worry about the safety, besides proper landing locations are selected beforehand at these numbered places.' I glanced at the shell-shocked crowd.

'Kokoro must have known about Jinbe by now, so I should hurry out of here before she returns,' I decided.

"Ok! Next person, hurry," I yelled, breaking the crowd's silence.

'OHHHHHH! What happened?', 'Wooooow! It's so cool,' 'Is it safe?', 'Did that crazy lady die?', 'I want to try it,' the crowd began to chatter.

"Calm down! People!" I yelled, with no effect. Getting irritated, "SHUT UP! Or I will cut you?" I threatened, glaring maliciously.

The crowd became dumb rather quickly. I scanned the crowd before laying my eyes on my paid customers. "Since you have witnessed how it works, let's get started," I motioned for them to enter the canal one by one.

They looked at each other but did not approach. "What!? are you scared?" I glared, eyes gleaming green behind the mask.

"Are you even men? Are you breaking the promise? Where is your Honor?" I scolded them.

'This is how you treat your customer?', 'I'm a woman,' 'Why does he speak as if we begged him for this chance?', 'Honor? Can we eat it?' they complained.

"What was THAT!?" my glare intensified with electricity crackling over my body. "Are you doing it or not?" I demanded.

They nodded their head quickly and ran towards the canal with a plank. Then water streams were shot out from the canal continuously, accompanied with, 'GYAAA!', 'I'm Going to die', 'This is FUNNN', 'Girl PowerrraaaaAAHH!', etc.

'They get what they want! Why did they pay without seeing what it could do? It must be the festival, their adrenaline doing their thinking,' I confirmed, after watching the scared, excited people waiting in line eagerly.

And surprisingly, there are even new customers who want to try it. I collected the money and allowed them a ride. At last, we used all the collected planks up, so I stopped accepting new customers.

"Sorry guys, this is the end of the 'teleport service. And before going our separate way, you guys must be curious how I did it?" I smirked, looking at their eager face.

"Let me introduce the person who controlled the water and delivered you safely on the other side." I declared. "Let's welcome the ONi-masked man," I announced with a snicker.

*CLAP~* *CLAP~* *CLAP~* all of them clapped, looking forward to the 'Oni-masked' person. *swirl* The water canal surged again as a water stream shot from it and fell near me, revealing a seven-foot-tall figure from it.

Everyone looked in awe at the figure, then yelled in excitement. 'Wow! how did you do it?', 'Can I do it?', 'His mask looks so real.', they chattered enthusiastically.

Jinbe looked at the humans in front of him complicatedly. His emotions were in turmoil. He never received such a reaction from the humans.

"How is it? Are you enjoying it?" I teased, tapping him with the stick that acts as my extra joint as a Longarm.

Jinbe looked at me, water dripping all over him. "Why!?" he asked, even knowing the answer.

"I already clarified it. It's the fear of the unknown. They will calm down after getting used to it," I explained as the green in my Iris dimmed.

Jinbe thought, for a while, "How did you react after seeing my 'full form'?" I suddenly asked.

Jinbe was startled by the question, then glanced at me. "Fear, nervousness, etc.," he replied. I shrugged at him since he already knows the answer.

After a while, "Oh! One more thing, Don't make me do these things again," Jinbe glared. "Hahaha!" I laughed, rubbing my head nervously.

Before I could speak to the crowd, "Stop right there! Bastards! How dare you? Throw people into my Pool?" a voice yelled from a distance.

"Pick that money bag and run," I urged Jinbe and moved the stilts I'm standing on.

'Oh! That's a merchants group', 'That group is mayor's, 'That looks like mine owners'. The people around started discussing the arrived groups. I sweated bullets hearing the name of the heavyweights.

*tap* *tap* *tap* The stilts are hard to control, and take time to get used to them, even though I wore them for the past few days. I turned to see Jinbe following me, pushing through the enthusiastic crowd.

I used the sticks in my hand to push the people aside, entering the busy streets. I made my way through the group of festive citizens and got away from the pursuers since it was easy. "Jinbe, I think we lost them *pant*," I stated, looking around.

"Jinbe!?" I called. "Fuck! Jinbe," I patted my head in annoyance. "He had to get lost, now of all times," I held back my curse.

I noticed that I'm standing near the bank of a water canal similar to the one I was in earlier. Even the people near are wearing similar masks. Then I blinked before realizing, "Shit! I'm the one who got lost." I looked around frantically. 'Stupid! Moss Head,' I cursed.

Some of the gangs are still searching for me here. I stiffened at the current situation. I tried to be as inconspicuous as possible to avoid being spotted by them.

"Do you think they would have caught them by now?" a gang member asked.

"Don't worry, even if they escaped now, someone will catch eventually them because our boss asked for help in the underworld," another man replied arrogantly.

I became speechless. 'Is this necessary? I didn't commit any crime... I think,' I heard them in disbelief.

"Oi...! Isn't it just throwing people? Why are they asking for help? From the underworld?" I asked in annoyance.

"Oh! Didn't he reveal the details of the sea train to the public? So miners are asking for a raise and their previous preparation went bust and... WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" he yelled after spotting me.

"He is the one we are searching for, CATCH HIM!" yelled a nearby person.

A person rushed towards me, grinning. I sidestepped, avoiding him and *bang* hit the back of his head with the stick. "GAAAYAA!" the man screamed, stumbling forward.

'What's with his weird arm?' 'It sounds like a stick smacking,' 'Be careful', etc, are heard from the gang.

*tsk* I'm dissatisfied that the man didn't get knocked out by that blow. 'I can't get enough leverage from the stilts,' I thought, ignoring the surrounding chatter.

I lunged towards the nearest person and jabbed the stick in his stomach *cough* *hu* the person fell, holding his stomach. "Shit! Attack him!" a person yelled, lunging towards me. I avoided him, then parried a blow from another, *clank*, and nearly fell off balance.

*TAP* I jumped the attack from below with difficulty, but the attack still grazed the stilt, throwing me off balance. 'Shit!' I cursed, slashing and hitting that person in the face.

*thud* I fell to the ground, so the surrounding gang grinned maliciously and approached me. I stood up hurriedly on my feet, ready to defend against the attack.

"Yeah! Just kneel just like that and surrender quickly," a man grinned. Well, since I'm standing on my feet, the stilts are lying behind me, and with the shoe attached, it looks like kneeling.

I noticed that one of my sword-stick was wet because of touching the puddle of water nearby when I fell.

I took a stance and swept that Sword-stick towards the crowd. The water on it traveled fast and hit the group. 'Gyahh!', 'Ouch!', 'What is that? Stone?', 'It hurts like hell,' the group screamed in pain.

I am satisfied with my progress in Fishman Karate. 'At least, it hurts them,' I thought.

I quickly saw a hammer descending towards me, so I crossed my sword sticks to receive the blow. *Bang* *crack* I blocked it somehow, but one stick cracked from it. Everyone looked here quickly. "Quick! his arm's broken, attack him," someone yelled.

The hammer man grinned, raising the hammer again. I raged at my broken stick and glared at him. Before the hammer descended, I attacked him with a series of trusts. Even though I didn't get an after-image like Brook, I managed to land many hits. *thunk* "UGH!" He fell off balance and writhed in pain.

I bent down to avoid an attack from behind *swoosh*. Without waiting for the attacker to stabilize from the missed attack, I stabbed the broken stick in his thigh, puncturing it. "GYAAAH!" He screamed, falling in pain, and pressed on his bleeding thigh.

Everyone looked shaken by this act before they could react. *click* *psssh* I clicked on a Dial attached to my belt and spewed smoke covering the area. 'Where did the smoke come from?', 'Shit! He is trying to escape, '*cough* *cough* Find him', 'Did he just stab with his broken arm? Ooo! *shiver*'.

After the smoke cleared, they found the place empty and knew that the person was gone. 'Search around. He must be nearby,' they yelled and began the search. But no one noticed a kid wearing a black feather mantle, squeezing out through the crowd.

"Damn! Now, where can I find Jinbe?" I wondered, moving through the crowd. "Yeah, and not get lost," I reminded, looking at the paths carefully. I will change if I find the surroundings familiar.

After a minute, I found myself on a roof of a house. "The Hell! How did I get here?" I growled.

"... preparations are made?" I suddenly heard someone nearby. I sneaked in that direction.

"Yes, boss, the iron ore will be mined without a break, but because of that stranger exposing the Sea Train, there was some problem with the miners, but we solved quickly it," another voice spoke.

There was some silence. "See to it properly, by the time the Sea Train is complete, I want to see more iron than other mine owners," the boss ordered. "We are going to rip-off water 7 guys," He added

I moved away, ignoring their conversation. While moving on, my sensitive ears picked up many such discussions as the night deepens. I even heard people talking about someone named Grim Reaper. They spoke about how he angers people to death using a phone call. Since he annoyed many people, there is even a bounty on him.

Sometimes later, I'm standing in a slum-like area. I looked around before entering an alleyway.

"*sigh* this may be the last time we celebrated the festival," I heard suddenly a voice.

"Yeah, I think so too," another voice agreed.

"But the sea train will be available soon, so we should get a heavy raise quickly," the first voice unexpectedly protested.

"Shh! Shut up!" the second voice cautioned. "Don't you know? There was a miner who protested for the same thing," that voice replied. "And now we don't even know in which mine his body was dumped," he explained.

"Hiss! For real?" the first voice gulped. I sneaked in their direction to find them in the middle of removing their pristine cloak and masks. And to my shock, the person revealed inside is shabby, wearing tattered clothes.

"Here, you return this back," a person handed his cloak and mask carefully to the other.

"Ok, Don't worry," the person assured, taking both their cloaks carefully, and walked out.

'This is why they wear cloaks? So that every man, woman, and child can enjoy the festival, irrespective of their job,' I deduced. But this conversation was nothing to me, so I continued the search for Jinbe.

I roamed around the town, reaching different places, but still didn't find Jinbe. I sat near a dilapidated building, ignoring the stares nearby. 'You guys tell me, you have been reading this for a while,' I asked the readers. 'So, where is ...?' I was interrupted by a «TRING» sound of violin string pulling, from the watch.

My green-dominant eyes returned to normal before the pink color overtook them. I blinked my eyes to scan the surrounding; I wrinkled my nose to smell the smell around. "Where Am I?" I clamored, looking around.

"Hey, Kid! Are you alright?" a shady-looking guy asked with fake concern. 'A Kid!?, I'm a MAN,' I bristled but calmed down after looking at my body.

"Yeah, you have been wandering around cluelessly for a long time," another shady guy said.

"No! I'm fine, everything is alright," I waved as the pink dimmed slightly.

"Come On, kid! We know what you want," the man revealed.

"Really!?" I asked, pink eyes gleaming in hope. The two shady guys looked at each other, eyes glinting and communicating silently.

"It's true, come on! Follow us," the man grinned, walking towards me.

'I don't know where I am, and need to find out about my situation quickly,' I decided. 'And, why I'm even trusting these obvious scammers? I must take the lead,' I thought, pink dimmed slightly.

I watched the man approach, extending his arms toward me. I quickly held his hand and shook it. "Thank You! Big brother, you are kind," I thanked him, shaking his hand.

*crack* "GYAAH! my hand. Let go," he cried in pain as I shook his hand.

I let go of him as he flew from the momentum and crashed into the wall. "Are you alright?" I asked, in concern. I'm totally surprised by my strength.

"You are very weak," I concluded. "Even a handshake can do this to you," I pointed out.

I turned to look at the other shady guy. "What about you? Are you also that weak?" I asked him.

He nodded his head so fast. "Ye-ah, I'm a-also we-eak,' he stuttered. "Please, don't hurt me, it's not my idea," he cried in panic. My eyes gleamed at this revelation.

"What are you talking about? It's just a handshake," I shook my head. "Now, Let's continue onwards," I declared as he stared in shock.

"W-wait a minute," he ran towards his fallen comrade and helped him up.

'*cough* what happened?' the fallen man hissed.

'Nothing, He just thinks we are weak. What to do now?' the man whispered.

They stood there silently. 'He is strong. If we cheat and make him mine for us, then we will be rich,' the injured man spoke.

'Yeah, we will take him to the boss. He will know what to do," the cowardly man agreed.

Unknown to them, I heard their discussion clearly, then gave in to my urge and spotted a bracelet on my wrist. I operated it, which projected a 'Reminder Note' on my forearm.

I read it to understand everything. 'I'm with Jinbe?' I'm surprised. 'And I need to find him,' I sighed.

'So, Copper's naivety is the reason for tagging along with these clowns?' I looked at them with disdain. 'Now I know how to make Jinbe find me,' I grinned maliciously behind my mask.

The two idiots shivered and looked at me suspiciously. I shrugged and sauntered towards them. "Are you guys ready?" I asked them.

They nodded their head and lead me toward their destination. "Your bodies are weak. You must need enough nutrition to support your body, or you will become malnutrition," I advised them.

On the way, I kept giving them trouble. I asked them to treat any wounded or provide food to the hungry. And to my surprise, they are rich; they are in the slum only to lure needy people.

We finally reached in front of a shabby building, "It's here,' he said warily.

"Oh...! But I don't feel like going in," I replied, turning into an alley nearby.

"Hey, wait! What do you mean by that?" they came chasing me. Before they could react, I knocked them off and dragged them aside. Then I peeked from the alley in Chopper style, then adjusted my position after finding out.

Then I approached the building secretly and avoid anyone relying on my sensitive nose. The building looks like a toll gate before entering the mine, where they check the miners. Since it is a festival day, a few thugs occupied it.

'...just throw them in the mine, let them work for a while, hahaha,' I heard a voice from the building.

'Didn't you hear? We need more workers in the future, so we need them alive,' another voice spoke. 'Or you are the one who needs to kidnap people again,' the voice disclosed.

'So they are kidnapping people to mine the ores,' I understood and took action.

I took a water Dial labeled alcohol and sprayed it on the building's wall. I checked the building only has ten thugs in it, and all the kidnapped are in the mine.

So I snapped my finger, *sizzle* creating a fire, and I have an inner struggle over whether to light the building on fire. At one time, I feared whether the thugs inside will escape from the fire. And at other times, I didn't care a bit about their well beings and was eager to start a fire.

Finally, I compromised and lit the fire on the side, where no one was present. *whoosh* the fire spread quickly. 'Chopper is truly naïve,' I thought, watching the fire spread, eyes gleaming pink.

As the fire spread, the thugs jumped out, so I knocked them out; the citizens ran out and put out the fire, found out the kidnapped people, and beat the shit out of the thugs. "Why the hell are there so many 'out' in a single line?" I blurted in annoyance. The people around looked at me with, 'What are you saying?', 'Who are you talking to?' look.

Ignore 'me', where was I...? Yeah, soon Jinbe arrived... what? You didn't expect this to end, normally? No cliche plot? No, boss? Maybe someone is trying to make this story normal since he doesn't know when his character will break the fourth wall and reach him.

I neared 'mafia boss' Jinbe before I could call him. A somewhat familiar woman blocked me. "Nagagagaga! You are DEAD?" she grinned.

I got chills hearing that laugh. "Gyaa!" I yelled, rushing behind Jinbe, hiding Chopper style. "What did I do? Why do you want me dead?" I demanded.

"Nagagagaga!" Her grin widened before I could escape. A huge webbed hand lifted me, and I came face-to-face with an angry Oni. "Where did you run off to? I have been searching for you crazily," Jinbe asked sternly.

My eyes widened. "Are you really Jinbe? And How dare you join with the enemy?" I demanded, pointing at the crazy lady.

"Dead!" Jinbe sighed, reaching inside his Kimino. "You also want me dead?" I gasped. "You even have a gun? You want to kill me like a mafia?" I squirmed from his grip.

Jinbe took the 'gun' out of his Kimino and pointed towards me. I closed my eyes but didn't receive the expected pain. I opened my eyes to see a familiar pendant in his hand, which calmed me down.

Jinbe dropped me on the ground. "Now you believe I'm Jinbe?" he asked. I nodded but kept an eye on the lady, trying to recall her identity.

After comparing, I remembered, "Ah! HagFish," I pointed at her. 'Now, I know why I got chills hearing her laugh,' I thought. 'I must avoid seeing her inside the water,' I decided.

Jinbe dope slapped me, "Don't be rude," he hissed. "Nagagagaga! what a rowdy boy? Just like the kids back in water 7," she laughed.

I calmed down after identifying her, but "Then Why is she trying to kill me?" I asked.

Jinbe looked blank, "Isn't your name Deadpool? She just called your name," he responded.

"What a... GOod name! it's very suitable for superheroes," I responded, wiping the cold sweat. I don't know why, When I tried to mock that name, I sensed a killing intent from Jinbe, so I adapted.

"You did a good job catching those kidnappers, or I wouldn't know shady things are happening here," Kokoro said.

"Complimenting me won't make me happy, asshole," I grinned happily.

Jinbe shook his head wryly. Already used to my antics. Kokoro, 'Nagagaga-ed' as usual. "And why are you with him?" I questioned her.

"After you got lost, she helped me to search for you," Jinbe explained after being pointed.

"Oh! Okay, did you come to this Island alone?" I questioned her. 'This is an important answer I sought,' I thought.

She raised her brows. "How do you know I'm not from this island?" she asked.

"Oh! Come on, I know you are one of Tom's workers. Who is responsible for developing the sea train?" I replied, as a matter of fact.

"How did you know?" she asked in surprise.

"Don't bother, you won't get an answer?" Jinbe replied already gotten used to it. Kokoro looked at me silently, then nodded.

"I will take you to Tom," Kokoro notified us, and we followed silently.

"Why are we meeting this Tom guy?" Jinbe whispered. I looked at him in surprise. 'Doesn't he know about Tom? His brother is also on Fishman Island,' I wondered.

"You tagged along with her, not knowing who she is?" I yelled. It's my turn to scold him. It looks funny, seeing a 3ft kid, yelling at a 7 ft huge figure.

After scolding him for a while. "He is a Fishman who built Gol. D. Roger's ship, Oro Jackson," I explained. Jinbe looked surprised and eager.

"Oh..., Yeah! She is a mermaid," I revealed. Jinbe looked at her, eyes bulging in surprise. Kokoro ignored our banter and continued on. "Wait!?" I yelled, stopping Kokoro.

"Isn't he usually surrounded by marines? How did he arrive here?" I asked her in doubt.

"Well, he brought the marines along," she replied, in a 'matter of the fact,' tone.

"Then we don't need to meet him," I pointed towards Jinbe. "He is a pirate," I mouthed to her.

"Well, that's a problem," she thought silently.

"Maybe they can meet underwater," I suggested, as both their eyes lit up.

Then we quickly made a plan. I can't meet because I can't speak underwater, so only Jinbe can go. Kokoro will distract the officials since there is a festival. It will be easy. "Jinbe, show our boat to Tom and ask solution to its problem," I instructed before Jinbe went into the sea.

I was left alone looking at the rising sun, waiting for Kokoro who will come after sending the news to Tom to meet underwater. Well, I'm totally not unhappy in not meeting with Tom *huff* *pout*. So I laid down to get a much-awaited rest. Thus, a normal day...-er... night, ended.
