Episode 68: True Blue Swablu
One awful day, a massive storm is raining down on a forest, whilst in a tree, a flock of Swablu and Altaria try to wait it out. Suddenly, a massive lightning bolt strikes the tree and sets it on fire before it starts to come down. In a panic, the Swablu and Altaria fly away for their lives, but one Swablu finds itself in the path of the falling, burning tree and cries out.
Meanwhile, nearby, Mew and her friends are trying to run past the storm. Trying to continue their adventure to Petalburg City, they have to escape the storm until it clears.
"The storm is so strong!" Zinnia cries out.
"I can barely see a thing," Max says.
"I think the cabin should be nearby," Brock calls out.
"I hope we get there soon," Jen says.
Meloetta is almost blown away, but Tomo catches her and has her stay in his backpack.
"Swkovet. Meloetta. You both stay in there," Tomo says.
The two agree.
Suddenly, they hear a cry and something comes down with a thud.
"What was that?!" Molly asks, scared.
"It came from over there," May says and decides to check it out.
"May, be careful!" Mew calls out.
May begins walking around. Soon, Pikachu, Eevee, and Amaura head to the source.
"I think they hear it too," May says.
Everyone soon follows the Pokemon and soon comes across a little Swablu, and it looks like it's unconscious, and notices the wing is injured.
Swablu is an avian Pokémon with a round, blue body. Since it has no discernible neck, its body appears to be all head. There are two long feathers on top of its head, and it has a short, rounded white beak and beady, black eyes. Its wings are fluffy and white, resembling cotton or clouds and are made of air. The wings have a light and fluffy feel. It has tiny, white feet and two pointed tail feathers.
"It's a Swablu," Max says.
"What happened to it?" May asks, and gently walks towards it.
"It must have hurt during the storm," Brock says.
May reaches down and picks up the Swablu, "You poor thing."
The Swablu tries to regain itself, but falls unconscious again.
"Oh no," May says, worried.
"Come on, let's find that cabin," Zinnia says.
Sometime later, everyone has finally reached the cabin and are now drying themselves off. Meanwhile, Mew, May, and Brock are at work tending the little Swablu. May uses a potion spray on the Swablu's wing.
Then Mew walks over with two sticks, "Here Brock, I found some small sticks. We can use them for splints."
"Thanks Mew," Brock says.
May then gently pet the Swablu, "Poor Swablu."
"Don't worry May, we'll have Swablu tend to in no time," Brock says, "Now, hold Swablu's wing, Mew will have the sticks in place while I wrap it."
"Okay," May says.
The three do just that and Swablu's wing is mended and bandaged up.
"There you go, that should do it," Brock says.
"Thanks Brock," May says.
Soon, Swablu regains consciousness and looks to see May and the others. Swablu panics and tries to scoot back, but ends up falling off the table. Luckily, May catches Swablu just in time.
"Phew, that was close," May says.
Then holds Swablu in her arms and asks, "Are you okay?"
"Swa… Swa Swablu," (I'm… I'm scared.) Swablu says, and feels the pain on it's wing, "Swa!" (Ow!)
"Poor Swablu, she's frightened," Mew says.
"After what happened, I'm not surprised," Brock says.
May turns to Swablu, "Hey Swablu, there's no need to be scared. We won't hurt you. Believe me. We only want to help."
The Swablu looks to notice its wing is tended.
"See, we help tend your wing," May says.
That cheers Swablu up as it shows a gentle smile. Then nuzzles itself to May.
"I think Swablu trusts us now," Mew says.
"I'm glad," May says. Then looks to Swablu, "Hi Swablu, my name is May."
Swablu chirps in response.
It sure is a cute Pokemon," Mew says, and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Swablu, the Cotton Bird Pokémon. A Normal and flying Type. Swablu loves cleanliness and is quick to wipe off any unclean surface with its cotton like wings."
Just then, thunder and lightning appear, causing Swablu to jump up, scared and trying to hide in May's fanny pack.
"It's okay, Swablu. It's okay," May says, and takes the little Pokemon out.
"That storm is really nasty," Tomo says.
"No kidding," Mew says.
"I think it's best to stay here for the night," Brock says.
"That's good for me," Max says.
May turns to Swablu, "Hey Swablu, you wanna sleep with me for the night?"
Swablu answers, "Swablu," (Yes.)
"Swablu said yes, May," Mew says.
"Great," May says.
Soon, everyone turns in for the night and is ready to get some sleep for the night. In May's bed, she and Swablu are getting very comfy.
"Goodnight Swablu," May says.
"Swablu," (Goodnight, May.) Swablu says.
Then the two go off to sleep along with everyone else.
Early the next day, the sun begins to rise as the storm is finally over, and everything is fresh. In the cabin, Brock, Zinnia, and Max are getting breakfast finished while Mew and the rest of the group get the Pokemon food fixed up for the Pokemon. May is busy reapplying the bandages for Swablu's wing, and then feeding her some medicine.
"Here you go, Brock said this will make you feel a lot better," May says, and gives Swablu some medicine.
Swablu takes the medicine and feels great about it.
"You really like it, huh Swablu," May says.
"Yeah, you can't be the best breeder with yucky medicine," Jen says.
"Yuck," Molly replies.
May then pet Swablu, "And you'll feel better in no time."
Moments later, Brock and the others finish breakfast for the trainers while Mew and the rest have finished getting the Pokemon Food set up.
"Alright everyone, breakfast is ready," Zinnia says.
"Good, I'm hungry," Tomo says.
"Me too," Jen replies.
Mew and Brock then bring a bowl for May and Swablu.
"Here May, one for you and one for Swablu," Brock says.
"Thanks guys," May says.
Mew places the food down and Swablu begins eating. May also begins eating her breakfast.
"The food tastes great, Brock," Molly says.
"Thanks," Brock says.
Everyone begins having their breakfast and it's delicious.
Suddenly, they hear a knock on the door.
"Who could that be?" Brock asks.
"I'll get it," Mew says.
She walks to the door and opens it to reveal a man in front of the door. The man has green hair hidden in a brown cap, and wearing dark blue pants, and a blue shirt with a shirt underneath. And the guy has a Nuzleaf with him on his shoulder.
"Hello. I'm the ranger of this nature preserve. My name's Morita," The man, Morita says.
"Nice to meet you," Mew says.
"Who's at the door?" Zinnia asks.
"It's the ranger of the Preserve Area," Mew answers.
Moments later, after meeting Mortia, they explain about how they got lost in the storm and run into Swablu and can tell it must have gotten badly hurt. Hearing their story, Morita explains how Swablu might have gotten hurt.
"It's most likely what happened to your Swablu friend," Morita says, "That terrible storm last night destroyed many Pokemon nests and unfortunately also separated many young Pokémon from their families."
May asks to Swablu, "Swablu, is that what happened?"
"Blu Blu Swablu," (Yes. That's what happened and it was terrible.) Swablu says.
"Swablu said, yes," Mew says.
Then Swablu explains.
NMew then translates, "Swablu says it was a lightning strike that set its treetop home on fire. It tried to escape but the tree was falling and there wasn't much time to get out of its way. That's how it wound up with an injured wing and separated from its flock.
"Flocks? Really?" Brock asks.
Morita answers, "Yes. Every year, flocks of Swablu and its evolved form, Altaria migrate right through this preserve."
"Altaria?" May says and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Altaria, the Humming Pokémon. Altaria is the evolved form of Swablu. A Dragon and Flying Type. It uses its fluffy wings to catch updrafts and is known for its beautiful, high-pitched song."
Morita turns to Mew, "So Ashley, you said this Swablu got separated from its flock when a lightning bolt struck its nesting tree and sent it falling in flames?"
"Yes. According to Swablu," Mew says.
"You must have a gift to know what it said," Morita says.
Mew blushes, "Well, I don't know about that."
"Poor thing. No wonder you were so scared of us, and found you on the ground," May says
"I just wish there was something more we could do to help it out," Brock says.
"Me too," Zinnia says.
Then Morita says, "Well, since you're all traveling, you won't have to worry about this little guy, because I'll take good care of it."
"Thanks. We're on our way to Petalburg City," Mew says.
"That so? Well, I can show you the best way to get there," Morita says.
"Now that's music to my ears," Brock says.
"I think it's a good idea," Zinnia says.
Then May says, "But, guys, what if we decided to stay here with Swablu until we know its wing is healed?"
"Sounds good," Max says.
"I think it's a good idea, May," Mew says.
"That way we could take it back to its flock if we did, right?" Tomo asks.
"Sounds good to me, too," Mroita says, "It's a good thing you found one of the preserved cabins. I have a cabin not far from here."
"Thank you!" May says.
Meanwhile, outside and above the cabin, Team Rocket spies
"What's that ball of fluff the twerpette is holding?" Jessie asks.
"It's called a Swablu. Why do you ask?" James questions.
"Well, all those downy cotton feathers would feel nice under my head," Jessie says.
And Meowth says, "Dat's it! Jess, you just gave me an idea! We'll capture a flock of Swablu and use deir feathers as the insides of pillows. Da one da twoipette has, we'll give to da boss."
"We will?" Jessie and James say, confused.
Meowth says, "I know dat if it was me, I'd rest my noggin on da cotton wing of a Swablu while being sent off to sleep by its Singing. I'd never have a sleepless night again."
Meowth explains as he fantasizes, "After all, da boss must get pooped out after yelling at his lazy underlings like Butch and Cassidy all day long. Dere's nobody who desoives a goodnight snooze more den Giovanni. And after a peaceful night of sleep, he'll be feeling so refreshed, he'll be coming up wit plans left and right!"
And the fantasy ends.
Team Rocket cheers, "We'll get big time promotions! Executive offices! Stock options!"
"Woooobbu!" (Leeeet's go!) Wobbuffet says.
Later that night, everyone else finished taking a show.
"May, you can take a shower now," Mew calls out.
However, they find her fast asleep next to Swablu.
"She's asleep," Jen says.
"I bet she was taking care of Swablu all around the clock," Brock says.
Max walks over and shakes her shoulders, "May? May?"
May soon wakes up, "Was I asleep?"
"Yep. Out like a light," Mew says.
Then Brock says, "You should get some rest, I'll take over watching Swablu."
"Oh, no. I'm just fine, don't worry about me," May says.
Then Max says, "You guys can forget it, there's nothing getting through my sister's head when she's got her mind set on something. Which reminds me of the this time she had a crush on this boy in school, and she actually tried to go…"
May quickly shuts Max's mouth and nervously laughs, "I was such a child then."
"Oooookaaaayyy," Zinnia says.
"Yeah, I only want Swablu to get better, you can understand that," May says.
"Well, of course we do," Brock says.
"Thank you, Brock," May says.
Brock hands her a tray of medical supplies, Brock says, "As soon as Swablu wakes up, change its bandages first thing. Don't forget to treat the bandages with that green bottle of medicine. The other medicine is for Swablu itself, but it doesn't have to be taken until tomorrow morning. You get all that?"
"Yeah, cause I've been watching you and Mew the whole time," May says.
"Alright, then. Goodnight," Brock says.
"Night, guys," May says.
Later that night, May kept her silent vigil.
Then next morning, she tended to Swablu all day and kept it company while watching Mew's Treecko have a practice battle with Brock's Mudkip. She continued to watch over Swablu long into the night and into the next day where Swablu saw Taillow flying high above.
Up above in the treehouse, Team Rocket continues to spy.
"It's been two days, let's just catch that thing already," Jessie says, getting impatient.
But Meowth says, "Not yet, our pillow needs to be more luxury like so it needs more feathers.
"We'll let them heal it, and then we'll steal it," James says.
Wobbuffet comes out of the cabin and says, "Wooooobbuffet!" (Perrrrfect plan!)
A bit later, Brock removes the bandages from Swablu's wing and finds it healed.
"Yes! Good as new!" Brock says.
May giggles, "Yippee! We did it!"
Swablu happily flaps its wings
But May says, "No, May, you're the one who did it."
"You were great," Mew says.
"You should be proud of yourself," Morita says.
"Thank you," May says.
"And with a few flaps of those wings, Swablu, you'll be reunited with your flock in no time," Morita says.
Swablu tries flying, but ends up falling after going up a bit.
"Swablu!" May says, worried.
"That's weird. It looked to me like its wing had healed completely," Brock says.
Then Tomo asks, "You guys don't think Swablu forgot how to fly, do you?"
"Could that even be possible?" Mew asks.
A bit later, outside….
"Okay, Swablu, time for flying lessons," Mew says and calls out, "Taillow, time to teach Swablu how to fly.
Taillow then comes out, and flies around in the air.
"You see Swablu if you flap your wings, you'll gain altitude," Mew says.
But Swablu refuses.
Mew then notices the concerned look.
Mew asks, "Swablu, are you okay?"
May then picks up Swablu, "Do you want to fly?"
Swablu cries out and snuggles against Mau, looking scared.
"Oh no, Swablu said she's afraid to fly," Mew says.
"Afraid?" May questions.
"I think you're right," Brock says.
"Yes. So do I," Morita says.
May soon realizes, "It must have happened during that storm."
"You're right, May," Mortia says, "This sort of thing can happen after a rather dramatic event. And this Swablu's been through a lot. But I'm afraid this sort of problem can take some time to sort out.
" So that means Swablu may not be able to fly for a really long time," May says, worried.
And Mew says, "Then that means you take however long you need to help your friend out."
This makes May happy, "You mean it? Oh, Ashley, thanks."
"No problem," Mew says.
"And if we all pitch in, we can help Swablu get back to its flock in no time," Tomo says.
"Yeah," Max agrees.
"I think you're right," May says.
Even the Pokémon agree
Then Mortia says, "I'll see if I can find out just where its flock could be."
May then says to Swablu, "Then that means you're gonna be just fine."
Swablu happily agrees.
Mew then has an idea as she and Pikachu are each wearing a pair of wings. Along with them are little Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, and Ho-Oh, Taillow, Honchkrow, and Emolga.
"Okay Swablu, we're going to play a game called the flying game," Mew says.
"Do you really think that's gonna help Swablu learn how to fly?" May asks.
"It's worth a try at least," Mew says.
"I'm surprised you have so many legendary Pokemon, even Ho-Oh and Lugia," Zinnia says.
"Yeah. It's quite a long story," Brock says.
"Well, I figure they can use some flying lessons too," Mew says.
"Good idea. And maybe having more birth Pokemon flying with Swablu will help her more," Brock says.
"Exactly," Mew says.
"Honchkrow and Taillow will also assist me," Mew says.
"Let's go guys, "Mew says.
Then the group runs off. Everyone begins flying.
"As soon as you get enough speed, flap your wings and then you jump!" Mew says.
They both do so and land easily
"Okay, Swablu, everyone, your turn!" Mew calls out.
"Go ahead, Swablu," May says.
The four young legendary birds and Lugia begin running. Swablu follows from behind.
They all are running.
"Alright, you can do it!" May says.
Swablu takes off running and flapping.
"Okay, steady… and take off," Mew says.
Swablu lifts off the ground a bit but ends up falling on its face.
"Oh, no!" May says, frightened.
The others try to fly, but they end up landing on their faces or bottoms.
"Oh dear," Mew says, and rushes to her Pokemon.
"I think your babies need more practice," Max says.
They soon try another approach as May puts Swablu on Beautifly's back.
"Maybe you just need to remember how it felt to fly in the first place," May says.
"This could work," Mew says.
Then May says, "Okay, Beautifly, let's go."
Beautifly soon lifts off the ground while Swablu shut its eyes in fear.
"Open your eyes, Swablu!" May calls out.
Even Beautifly, Taillow, and Honchkrow try to convince it to do so, but still no good.
"Well, now we know for sure that it's afraid," Max says.
"Then we'll have to hang in there until it gets its courage back," Brock says.
"You can do it, Swablu!" Mew calls out.
"Look around you!" May calls out.
Mew looks down to notice the little pokemon are flapping their wings and are trying to fly, and or cheering for Swablu.
Swablu finally opens its eyes and sees the view of the forest from high above and actually enjoys it.
Later that night, Mew and the others are wondering what to do to help Swablu fly again, with little success in the way of ideas.
"This might be harder than I thought," Mew says.
"Yeah," Tomo says.
"There's got to be something we can do to help Swablu," Zinnia says.
Then Max says, "So, we go to plan B!"
"We have a plan B?" May questions.
"Yep! We'll use magic!" Max says.
Everyone responds confused, "Say what?!"
Even the Pokemon are confused, (Magic?!)
The next morning…
Max explains, "So, you see, Swablu, the only reason why Beautifly and Taillow can fly at all is because of this super secret magic powder! Now, just watch!"
Tails remains still as Beauitfly sprinkle some powder down on Taillow, which causes it to immediately take off, almost as if the powder was irritating it, though Swablu was none the wiser.
"Now, if you use the same magic powder as they do, you'll be able to fly just the same," Max says.
"Max is getting a little bit carried away," May says.
"It's just a white lie, to help it believe in itself," Brock says.
"I don't know about this, guys," Mew says.
Max then asks Swablu, "Well, you wanna try some of that magic powder?"
Swablu is unsure.
May then says ti Swablu, "You know, I think it might be just what you need."
Swablu seems to agree and stands under Beautifly, prompting it to flap its wings in exertion.
"Good. Now flap your wings as hard as you can!" Max says.
Swablu starts to flap its wings
"You're doing it, Swablu!" May says.
"You'll be back with your friends in no time," Tomo says.
Swablu is seen struggling as it flaps harder.
"Almost there!" Jen calls out.
Swablu soon lifts off the ground and takes to the air and towards Taillow.
"Swablu, you're flying, you're really flying!" May says.
Swablu is now enthralled and happy to be flying.
"That's great, Swablu is flying," Molly says.
"Yeah. I guess," Mew says, feeling unsure.
Well, hopefully, this will be enough to keep Swablu's confidence up," Brock says.
"I hope so, too," May replies.
"I don't know…" Mew says, still sounding unsure.
"What's wrong, Mew?" May asks.
"I still feel this isn't the best idea, I mean, what happens when we leave and Swablu expects more of this magic powder, when it's just all purpose flour?" Mew asks.
"You worry too much, Mew. I'm sure Swablu will be fine," Max says.
Soon, Morita and Nuzleaf come out of the cabin
"Good news! I found the location of Swablu's flock!" Morita says.
"You doo?" The group asks.
"Come on, let's hurry," Morita says.
The gang then takes a ride in Morita's car.
"I discovered a flock consisting of both Swablu and Altaria near a lake not far from here," Mortia says.
May says to Swablu, "Isn't this great, Swablu? You're going to be back with your family and friends, soon."
Swablu chirps in agreement, when suddenly, a Pin Missile from out of nowhere blows one of the tires on the van, causing it to spin out before coming to a stop, while everyone else comes to a stop as well.
"Of all the rotten luck, a flat tire," Morita says.
"Oh no," Mew says.
"Not now," Zinnia says.
"We're pretty close to the lake so we'll have to go the rest of the way on foot," Morita says.
Everyone agrees.
May then turns to Swablu, "Hey, Swablu, you can just fly the rest of the way if you wanted to.
Swablu soon chirps again.
Mew sighs, "She's saying she wants more of that magic powder."
"Are you sure you need it?" May asks.
Swablu confirms.
"She said yes," Mew says.
"Maybe you should get Beautifly," May says.
Okay," May says and places Swablu on the hood of the can, "I'll be right back."
Suddenly, a mechanical hand shoots out from the bushes and grabs Swablu.
"Swablu!" May cries out.
Meowth is soon heard laughing as they all looks and see Team Rocket's balloon lifting into the air
"Your feathered friend was caught red-handed!" James says.
"No need to be Swa-blue," Jessie says, having Swablu in her arms.
Swablue then cries out for help.
"Team Rocket!" Mew, Tomo, and Molly cry out.
And of course, Team Rocket performs the motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble, all we want is the feathers!
James:
Make it double cause we're all togethers!
Jessie:
To protect our boss from insomniation.
James:
To unite a well rested nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of lack of sleep.
James:
To extend our reach to the Sandman's Keep!
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light.
James:
Surrender now to the foils of fatigue or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
WOBBUFFET! (THAAAAT's a wrap!)
"What are you guys talking about!?" Tomo demands.
"Give Swablu back!" May says.
"No can do. This Swablu is scheduled to be the boss' sleeping aid," James says.
"It's a done deal," Jessie says.
Mewoth then waves goodbye, "It's been real!"
"We need to get Swablu away from them. I can't have Pikachu and Eevee use their attacks with her in there," Mew says.
"That's right," Jessie says.
"If you zap us…" James says.
"Swablu might go down wit da ship!" Meowth says.
Then May has an idea, "Quick, Swablu, use Sing!"
Swablu does so
Jessie panics, "Hey! Stop that singing!"
"It's not bedtime!" James panics.
"Not yet…" Meowth says, but begins to get sleepy.
However, they all start getting drowsy.
"Nighty-night," Meowth says.
And James says, sleepy, "Oh, Cacnea. Perhaps a Pin Missile.
Cacnea falls off the edge of the basket and fires the attack, causing Swablu to stop singing while the attack fires all over the place, including right into James and Jessie's rear ends and into the faces of Meowth and Wobbuffet, quickly and painfully waking them up.
Jessie cries out, "Would you be careful where you point that thing?!"
"Pin Missiles are supposed to be for da twoips! Dat hoits!" Meowth cries out.
Swablu backs into a corner.
James quickly says, "Cacnea, you can stop now!"
However, to Team Rocket's shock, Cacnea was sound asleep.
"It's asleep!?" James cries out in shock.
A few stray pins hit the burner of the balloon and cause it to catch fire.
"Now look what your Cacnea's done!" Jessie cries out.
At least its attack is good," James points out.
But Meowth also points out, "But it's aim is bad, bad, bad!"
Meanwhile, the gang are following Team Rocket from the ground.
"The burner is on fire!" Zinnia cries out.
"And they're starting to go down!" Morita says.
May calls out, "Get out of there, Swablu!"
"Hurry!" Jen calls out.
Up in the basket, Swablu gets flashbacks to the stormy night when its tree was on fire and fell. Suddenly, the balloon catches fire and goes down faster.
"Swablu, hurry!" Mew calls out.
"You got to take off!" Tomo calls out.
"You gotta fly now!" Molly calls out.
And Brock calls out, "You've got no choice!"
But it doesn't have any of the magic powder," Max says.
Swablu continues to feel scared.
May then calls out to Swablu, "Swablu, that magic powder had nothing to do with you flying! You did it all by yourself!"
Max then calls out, "I'm sorry I lied to you about that magic powder back there, but it was the only way to get you to believe in yourself and fly again!"
Mew calls out, "Swablu, you gotta jump out and open your wings!"
"Hurry!" Molly calls out.
"You got to!" Brock calls out.
"You can do it, Swablu!" Zinnia calls out.
May calls out, "You've got to!"
Swablu looks up as the smoke starts to part.
May then cries out, "DO IT FOR ME!"
Swablu, determined, spreads its wings and takes off just as the balloon explodes, causing everyone to stop.
"Swablu!" May calls out worried.
Suddenly, something pierces through the smoke.
"Is that...?" Mew asks.
Swablu bursts through the smoke to reveal it was alright.
"It's Swablu!" Jen happily says.
"It was!" May happily says.
Everyone cheers in excitement.
Swablu flies into May's arms.
May hugs Swablu, "You did it, you flew. I knew you could do it."
Soon, the basket falls, burning like a fireplace as Team Rocket screams for help
Brock then calls out, "Mudkip, Lombre, use Water Gun, now!"
Mudkip and Lombre have been called out, and fire the attack at the basket, putting out the fire while also knocking it over, causing Team Rocket to fall out.
"That's what's called…" Jessie says.
"Going out in a blaze of glory," James says.
Then Meowth notices, "Hey, where's Swablu?"
"YOU!" Mew's voice shouts.
Team Rocket then notices the gang.
"You oughta be ashamed of yourselves, treating Swablu this way," May demands.
Then Team Rocket gets up.
"We're Team Rocket!" Jessie says.
"And that means," James adds.
"We ain't got no shame!" Meowth says.
Brock then calls out, "Water Gun, go!"
Both Lombre and Mudkip fire Water Gun, and send Team Rocket flying.
Team Rocket cries out, "Oh, the shame! We're blasting off again!"
"WOBBUFFET!" (We'll be back!) Wobbuffet.
"Now that's what I called conflicted," Morita comments.
Later that evening, as the sun sets, the gang reach the lake but find it devoid of any sentient life
"Oh, no," May says.
"The flock is not here," Mew says.
"They must have left," Tomo says.
"Now what are we gonna do?" Max wonders.
Then May asks, "Hey, Swablu? What would you say about coming along with us?"
Swablu seems to like the idea.
"Great idea," Mew says.
"Plus we might see Swablu's flock on the way to Petalburg City," Brock says.
"Cool!" Max says.
Suddenly, they hear the sound of the flock before looking to see that it was the flock.
"Guys look," Mew says.
"It's Swablu's flock," Zinnia says.
"They came back for it," Mortia says.
Swablu flies off to join its family
"Swablu…" May says.
Swablu stops and looks back. May tries to convince it to come back, but can't bring herself to do it.
May says, "You should go with your family, Swablu."
"You're letting it go?" Max asks.
May nods, "It's Swablu's happiness that really counts."
"But May, I thought you were going to make it part of your team," Max says.
May starts breaking up, "You better get going, your family is waiting for you. But, I'll miss you."
Swablu nods and then goes to join its family. Swablu then stops and turns to see May and then back to her family. Her heart feels conflicted. Just then, the Altaria and the Swablu fly to Swablu and talk to her. Swablu expresses her feelings. The female Altaria, which is her mother, comforts Swablu and speaks to Swablu. This makes Swablu surprised and chirps. Altaria nods in response, and it makes Swablu smile. The Two Altarias and the other three Swablu chip happily and hug little Swablu. Soon, Swablu leaves the flock and chirps as she waves her wings. The other Swablu and Altaria do the same. The flock leaves in one direction and Swablu leaves in another.
Seeing this really confused the others.
"That's odd," Molly says.
"Why isn't Swablu leaving with the flock?" Tomo asks.
"And where is she going?" May asks.
"I think she's coming back here…" Mew says and turns to May, "To you."
"Me?" May asks.
And Mew is right, Swablu flies down and towards the gang once more, more specifically, to May.
May smiles and tears begin to fall down her face, and she reaches her hands out. Swablu happily comes to May and lands in her arms.
"Swablu," May says happily.
Swablu chips happily and wraps her fluffy wings around May.
May then asks, "So then, you want to come with us?"
Swablu happily nods.
May smiles and gets teary, "Oh Swablu, I'm really glad, but are you sure?"
Swablu nods in response. Then they hear calls and look to see Swablu's flock, saying their last goodbyes to Swablu. Swablu waves goodbye and the flock take their leave.
Mew smiles to Swablu, "Swablu, I'm glad you're welcomed to the group. I promise to make you very happy."
Swablu happily says, "Swablu. Swablu Swablu." Thank you, May. I love you."
Then the two hug each other. It ends up showing that the two end up loving each other, and with the support of her flock, Swablu has decided to stay with May and May and her Pokemon have gained a new addition to her Pokemon Family.
