Chapter 24
Prison Island
In the middle of an abandoned seaside port town, a group of people consisting of K, Sonic, Tails, Epinel, Red Hood, and Laplace teleported down as beam of lights onto the center of the place. Sonic looked around and asked, "We're supposed to meet up with Marine here? Doesn't look like the kind of place that would be hiding someone…"
"On the contrary, a wrecked town is a great place for hiding people, because most others wouldn't expect you to be hiding in this sort of place," said Red Hood. "It's the perfect kind of place for hiding secrets!"
"I know where Marine is. Follow me," Tails told the others. They followed the two-tailed fox into a building located close to a cliff overlooking the sea. Once in there, Tails went up to a certain part of the floor and knocked on it a certain amount of times in a specific manner, as if entering a pass code of some kind. After doing so, that part of the floor slid open. "There!"
"Huh, a secret passage," said Laplace with interest. "The perfect kind of place for heroes to observe villains and plan things out! I should make my own secret hideout after we get back home!"
The group went to the bottom via a ladder. At the bottom, they were greeted with an underground body of water that had a boat docked there. There was also a female anthropomorphic raccoon waving at them. "Hey guys! I've been waiting for you!" she said to them.
"Marine! Is everything ready?" Tails asked her.
Marine nodded. "All ready! The SS Marine is ready to take off whenever you are ready!"
Sonic looked at the boat docked in the water. The front part of it was built to resemble Marine's own face. "Huh, so it's a boat in this universe? The one I know was a water bike."
"We'll be using that to get to Prison Island?" asked Epinel.
Marine nodded. "Yep. This place is the closest to Prison Island compared to everywhere else. Since Prison Island is designed to prevent teleportation, the best way for us to get there is to get a boat ride from here, and that's where I come in. The bad guys never realized that I have been using this place in secret the whole time!"
"What are you going to do once you get us there?" Sonic asked her.
"I'll be waiting at the coast with optic camo on to prevent myself and the SS Marine from being seen," replied Marine. "You guys go and rescue Shadow and then come running back to me, and then we'll sail to a distance where you can be teleported away."
"You sure you can handle things yourself while alone?" Tails asked him.
"Don't worry about me. I know how to fight when I have to, you know," said Marine confidently.
Without further ado, the good guys got onto the SS Marine. The boat took off through a gate located at one side of the body of water, and when they came out of it, they were revealed to be inside the cliff of the building they went into earlier the whole time.
After several minutes of peaceful sailing, the SS Marine arrived at Prison Island. It docked at the side of the island farthest away from the prison building, and the good guys got off the ship, while Marine stayed behind. "I'll be waiting for your return," Marine told them. "There should be a secret passage into the prison building up ahead made by… some folks."
"Yeah, I know about that, and we were planning on using that," K told her.
"Take care of yourself. We'll be back as soon as we can," Tails said to Marine.
Marine went into the boat's cabin, and then the whole thing became invisible. "Invisibility sure is handy…" commented Epinel.
The group went on ahead, with K and Tails leading the way. They eventually came to a large bush that the aforementioned two moved out of the way to reveal a fake ground underneath that was actually a metal panel. They went underground and began traveling through a long passage. "Where does this lead to?" asked Epinel.
"Into the underground storage room of the prison building," replied K. "However, we can't be sure that the guards there haven't discovered this yet and sealed it off."
"We can always break down the wall ourselves if that is the case!" said Laplace.
After a bit of traveling through the passage, they came to a metal wall. Tails took out a flashlight and shined on the wall, inspecting it for a few seconds before touching it and moving it until it slid to the side. "There! Nothing has changed!" he said as he opened the way forward. The group exited the passage and found themselves inside a vast, metallic room with lots of unused equipment.
"So we're in the prison now?" asked Red Hood.
"Yep, it does have a familiar feel, even if this isn't a room I have been into before," said Sonic.
"You said you've been here before in your world. What did you get imprisoned for?" K asked him.
"Got mistaken for Shadow by a peacekeeping organization called G.U.N., so they arrested me and locked me up here," replied Sonic. "The Shadow of our world started off on the wrong side of the law, and apparently, people didn't bother to check the difference between our colors and jumped to the conclusion that it was me causing trouble when it was actually Shadow all along! Can you believe this goof up?!"
"Huh… Never thought I would hear about something like this about Shadow…" said Tails. "As far as I know, he's always been on the good side of the law here."
"Good for him then!" commented Sonic.
"Um… Is that a butt…?" asked Epinel, pointing at something at the side. The others turned to where she was pointing at and widened their eyes in shock and confusion at the sight of a woman's lower body sticking out of a wall, with her shorts fallen down halfway to expose her thong-clad butt.
"Whoa…! Hide the children's eyes!" said Sonic, looking away yet peeking a bit at the butt.
"Dang! That's some kinky stuff she's into!" commented Red Hood.
Curious about what was going on, the group went up to the butt sticking out of the wall. "Um… You all right there…?" K asked her.
Hearing someone speaking to her, the butt began wiggling left and right, while a voice was heard coming from within the wall. "Is someone there? I don't know who you are, but you better not do anything sickening to me while I'm stuck here!"
"So you're stuck, huh?" asked Sonic with his arms crossed. "Guess you got too ahead of yourself or something…"
"It's not my fault that they made this air vent too small! Otherwise, an escape artist like me would've squeezed through it and escape from this place already!" said the stuck woman in frustration as she shook her butt more and kicked her legs. "I heard there was a secret passage here created by escaping prisoners long ago, but I couldn't find it and tried to exit through this air vent instead."
"Yeah, about that… We just entered this place through that secret passage…" Tails said to her, which made her groan in frustration that she somehow missed it.
"Your pants are sliding down the more you shake your butt…" Epinel said to her, but the woman seemingly ignored her and continued shaking her butt.
"You guys don't sound like bad guys. Mind helping me out of here?" asked the stuck woman. "I've been stuck here for a long time already… Maybe a few days, I guess…"
"You've been stuck for days? How are you still alive?" asked Sonic.
"Because I'm a cyborg who can who survive longer than other beings without food," replied the woman, a statement that surprised the others a bit. "Doesn't necessary mean I won't feel hungry though… Still want to grab a bite if I have the chance..."
"Who are you anyway?" K asked her.
"I'm Quency," replied the woman.
"Oh, I've heard of you," replied K. "You're quite a famous thief. You're most famous for your uncanny ability to escape from any form of captivity."
"Oh, so you have heard of me! Guess I'm indeed that famous!" said Quency, kicking her legs in a playful manner as if showing happiness that she was recognized.
"Let me guess: you got captured and locked up here, but you escaped your cell and attempted to get out through this air vent, but you underestimated its size and got stuck, right?" K asked her.
Quency stopped kicking her legs and sighed. "Yeah… You got that right… I have a hard time believing that an escape artist like me would get stuck… Guess I got too full of myself… I could hear the guards laughing their butts off at seeing me stuck here. They did try to pull me out, but I was stuck too tightly to be pulled out, so they decided to leave me here, thinking I wouldn't be able to get out at all… And they're right… Stuck with my upper body crammed within this narrow vent, while my butt is available for all to see…"
"Then let's get you out at once! A hero would never leave a person in distress alone!" said Laplace, readying her gun.
"You don't actually plan on blowing up the wall, do you…?" Epinel asked her.
Laplace looked at her and nodded. "Why yes! I do indeed plan to blow up the wall."
"Yeah, we're not doing that…" K said to her. "That's going to cause an unnecessary amount of…"
"Hey! Who goes there?!" shouted a pair of Sniper Joes from behind them. Before those two could do anything else, they were torn into pieces when Sonic rolled into them like a buzz saw in a blink of an eye.
The hedgehog returned to his original position and said, "All right, let's get this girl out of there and fast!"
"Easier said then done!" said Red Hood as she put her sniper rifle against the wall before grabbing Quency by the waist and pulled her. "Here goes! Ngh!"
The others watched Red Hood try to pull Quency out while on the lookout at their surroundings. "Do it fast before anyone else show up!" K said to Red Hood. "We've also already wasted enough time with her when we should be rescuing Shadow instead!"
"She's stuck real tight all right!" said Red Hood as she pulled back as hard as she could.
"Ow! You're going to rip me apart!" cried Quency.
"This wouldn't have happen if you aren't fat!" Red Hood said to her.
"My body is artificial, so I can't get fat! Blame the people who made me like this instead!" replied Quency, sounding offended.
"Cyborgs get to choose what kind of bodies they want, so you only have yourself to blame for choosing a fat one!" K said to her.
"You call this fat?! You should look at Eggman and that fat purple cat I saw once!" Quency said to her in anger.
"Hey! Who are you people?! And what happened to them?!" said a new Sniper Joe that showed up and noticed the remains of the previous two Joes on the floor. Before he could do anything else, K pointed her guns at him and blasted him into oblivion.
"Darn it! Let me help!" said K in frustration as she also grabbed Quency's waist and pulled. Together with Red Hood, they pulled the stuck girl as hard as they could, but seemingly no progress was made.
"Ouch! That hurts!" cried Quency.
"Did you get glued here or what?!" asked Red Hood. "You might as well have merged with the wall on a molecular level at this point!"
"Then we have no choice but to blow up the wall!" said Laplace, readying her gun.
"Can you not be so eager about destroying the wall?!" Tails said to her in frustration.
K and Red Hood let go of Quency to take a break for a while. "This won't do… There's got to be some way to get her out, but we can't just focus all our time on her either…" said K. "We still have Shadow to rescue, so some of us should go look for him."
"I'll stay behind to help her, while you go with the others," suggested Red Hood.
"Here, use this," said Tails as he took out a small gun. "This is a laser cutter. Try using it to cut her out of the wall."
Laplace watched as Red Hood grabbed the laser cutter from Tails and said, "Seriously, you're going to rely on that dinky toy? Just let me blow up the wall and be done with this already!"
"You're just looking for an excuse to cause collateral damage, aren't you…?" Epinel asked her.
K sighed and then said, "All right, how about this? If we get spotted and the entire prison building gets alerted of our presence, with no way of keeping a low profile anymore, then go ahead and blast down the wall. No point in hiding once we're busted for good…"
"Sounds good to me!" said Laplace with a smile. "Then I hope you get caught on your way to Shadow!"
K grumbled in frustration and said mentally that she wanted to shoot her dead right now. Turning around and beginning to move out, she said to Sonic and Tails, "Let's get moving already…"
"Will they be all right?" asked a nervous Tails.
"I'm sure they know what they're doing, I think…" said Sonic.
Red Hood, Epinel, and Laplace watched those three disappearing around the corner, and then they turned back to the stuck Quency. Red Hood turned on the laser cutter and said, "All right, let's see how well this thing works out!"
However, she turned it on while pointing it at Quency's butt, making her cry in pain while throwing up her feet. "Yeow!"
K, Tails, and Sonic moved together through the prison building, with Tails leading the way due to him having a map of the place shown on a tablet-like device with was holding in his hand. "We shouldn't be far now," he said as he looked at the tablet.
"I'll be honest. Things seem a bit too easy… I expect this place to be more heavily guarded, considering they see Shadow as a threat that cannot escape at all costs," said Sonic warily as he looked around.
"Been wondering the same thing myself too," said K. "Something tells me that we may be walking into a trap…"
"We'll just have to be prepared for whatever it is," said Tails.
They came across some robots such as Egg Pawns and Sniper Joes patrolling the place, but there were only a few of them and were easily taken out or sneaked pass. After a while, the trio came to a large room with an energy wall at the back end. Shadow could be seen sitting in the small room behind it. "Shadow!" said Tails happily.
The three ran up to the energy wall and placed their hands against it. Shadow got up and approached them, asking, "Tails? K? What are you doing here?"
"We came to rescue you, of course!" Tails said to him. "Hold on. Let me remove this barrier."
"Wait a minute! Like we said before, things are too easy! There has to be a trap of some kind!" K warned Tails.
"I think I may have an idea why," said Shadow. "Anyway, go ahead and let me out. I'll deal with whatever happens afterwards."
"You sure about that?" asked Tails as he went over to a control panel next to the energy wall. He took out his tablet and used it to hack into the panel.
"If I have to guess, they want me to be rescued," said Shadow. "And I think I know who exactly wants me to get out…"
"Huh, seems like you have a fan here!" commented Sonic.
Shadow looked at him and asked, "And who are you?"
"You may not know me, but I know a lot about you, assuming you are the same Shadow as the one I know," replied Sonic, though the answer confused Shadow.
"You're going to have a hard time believing his story," K said to Shadow. "Anyway, what do you mean they want you to be rescued?"
"Done!" said Tails as he finished hacking, causing the energy wall to disappear.
Shadow stepped out and said, "Guess I owe you all a thanks."
"No problem! Friends gotta help each other after all! Never thought I would be rescuing you though..." Sonic said to him.
"I still don't know who you are…" Shadow said to him.
"So… we get out of here now? I still have an uneasy feeling about all this…" said a worried Tails. "This seems all too easy…"
"That's because I allowed it!" said a voice. Everyone turned to the door leading outside and saw Zavok standing there.
"Zavok!" said K as she got into a fighting stance.
"Heheh! You thought things were too easy? That's because I was hoping for someone to rescue Shadow so that I can have an excuse to fight him once he's out!" Zavok said with enthusiasm. "You should be thanking me for making things easy for you, but now you should all die!"
"Can't say I'm too surprised you would do this, considering you did something like this to me back in my world too!" said Sonic.
"Hmph! You better hope your bosses will go easy on you for your stupidity," Shadow said to Zavok as he walked past the others and approached him.
"They won't be angry at me once they see what is left of you!" said Zavok.
Red Hood was using the laser cutter Tails gave him to slowly but surely cut away the wall that Quency was stuck in. Laplace and Epinel stood close by, being on the watch out for enemies. "How's it going?" Epinel asked Red Hood before blowing another bubble from her gum.
"Making progress…" said Red Hood.
"I told you! You should just let me blow up the wall, and she'll be out of here before you know it!" said Laplace.
"That sounds like a good idea, but I don't think I can survive it…" replied Quency while moving her feet a bit.
"Don't worry! I have good aim! You can be sure I won't hit you!" Laplace said to confidence.
Just then, two Egg Pawns stepped into the room and saw them. The robots raised their arms into the air and made some robotic sounds, but before they could do anything else, Epinel and Laplace mowed them down with their weapons.
"This is a lot easier than fighting Raptures if you ask me…" said Epinel.
Suddenly, a large red buzz saw rolled into the room at a fast speed, heading in their direction. Acting fast, Laplace fired from her energy launcher at the incoming threat, but her shot seemingly did nothing to it. The buzz saw went past Laplace and Epinel, heading for Quency and Red Hood. Acting fast as if because of instinct, Red Hood grabbed her sniper rifle and swung it like a bat at the buzz saw, hitting it with a force strong enough to knock it back through the air.
The buzz saw transformed into a red robot with spikes on its body in midair and landed in a crouching position. Looking at the Nikke who were now in fighting stances, he said, "Nice reflexes! Looks like you can provide a challenge for me!"
"Who are you, villain?!" Laplace asked him.
"My name's Punk. I'm supposed to be looking out for intruders in this place, but nothing has happened so far until you guys showed up," replied the red robot. "I've been itching for a fight, and you showed up at the right time!"
"Well, if it's a fight you want, then you'll have it! I, the hero Laplace, will take you down!" said Laplace.

"You have confidence, and I like that! You better not disappoint me!" said Punk before creating and throwing a couple of buzz saws at Laplace and Epinel.
Laplace leaped out of the way, while Epinel got on her hoverboard and flew out of harm's way. As the latter flew in the air to the side of Punk, she aimed and fired from her submachine gun. Punk held up one of his shoulder pads in a way that blocked the bullets from hitting his body before creating and throwing a saw blade at her that she managed to fly out of the way from.
Laplace fired an energy blast at him. Though he was able to block it with his shoulder pad, the power of the shot made him slide backwards. Creating more saw blades, Punk threw them at Laplace, who jumped and ran around swiftly while dodging them and at the same time firing shots at him that he dodged with swift movements.
All the while, Red Hood continued to use the laser cutter on the wall to try to free Quency. She looked at the two fighting and said, "Man, I want to fight too! Why am I stuck here helping your sorry ass out of this wall instead?!"
"I'm sorry for being fat, okay?!" replied Quency in frustration while shaking her butt.
Laplace fired at Punk as she ran towards him, and the latter held two saw blades in his hand as melee weapons to deflect the shots. Having gotten close to Punk, Laplace swung her gun at the robot, who used his saws to block them and was pushed back in a standing position. Laplace fired another shot at him, but he once again blocked them.
From the air, Epinel fired at Punk, who took some shots to his head. Punk turned to her and threw the saw blades at her, but she was able to dodge them. He then jumped into the air while curling up his body, and then his spiked shoulder pads closed around him like a shell, turning him into a literal saw blade. The transformed Punk flew into the air unaided and headed for Epinel, who sped out of the way.
Punk chased after her, and she looked back while making a run for it and fired from her gun, but the shots bounced off the robot. From below, Laplace fired energy blasts at Punk, but he was able to dodge them while still chasing Epinel.
"Darn it! Stay still, will ya?!" said Laplace in frustration as she focused carefully on Punk while charging up her gun. After fully charging up and getting a good aim at Punk, she fired a large blast of energy that managed to hit Punk. "Yeah! Got him!"
Punk was propelled into the air by the shot still in his buzz saw form, and as he was still spinning when he got shot, he cut through the ceiling and disappeared into it. Epinel stopped moving and remained hovering in air, looking at where he disappeared into.
Suddenly, Punk cut through the part of the ceiling above her and fell straight for her. Epinel, in her shock, moved back while jumping off her hoverboard. Punk came down on top of the hoverboard, cutting it in half, and continued falling down until he hit the floor, changing back into his normal form when he did so.
Without her hoverboard, Epinel fell down with a look of shock on her face. Laplace hurriedly rushed over to her and tossed her gun aside just in time to use her empty hands to catch Epinel. "Gotcha!" said the hero Nikke.
"And I got you too!" said Punk as he threw a saw blade at Laplace, who was still holding Epinel in her arms and didn't seem to have the chance to do anything else. Laplace braced herself for the saw hitting her, but that never happened, as the buzz saw was shot by something and got deflected elsewhere.
Epinel and her turned and saw Red Hood pointing her sniper rifle in their direction, showing that she was the one who saved them. "I don't care anymore! I want in on some action too! Laplace! Go ahead and blow up this stupid wall and free that fatass over here already!" she said loudly in frustration.
Letting Epinel down onto the floor, Laplace happily picked up her gun and charged it up while facing the wall. "Yeah! I've been saying we should've done this from the beginning!" She fired a laser beam at the wall that almost immediately pierced through it and then moved it around to tear down the entire portion of the wall, which came crashing down on Quency, burying her in rubble.
"What the hell are you doing?!" asked Punk in shock and confusion.
"That's one problem solved!" said Laplace before turning back to Punk. "Now we can concentrate on you!"
"Yeah! This is more of my style!" said Red Hood before taking aim with her sniper rifle and firing at Punk.
As Laplace and Red Hood fought Punk, Epinel went up to the rubble that Quency was buried underneath and removed some of it. Quency suddenly stood straight up at a fast speed and bent back her body. "Woohoo! It feels so good to be able to move again!"
"I had fun, but playtime is over! I'll be sure that your death is quick and painful! Speed Gear!" said Punk as his body glowed slightly. He jumped into the air and transformed into his saw blade form and then took off at a speed much faster than before.
He collided into Laplace before the latter had the chance to get out of the way and pushed her across the face as he grind his blades against her, causing her to cry in pain. Punk pushed her all the way into a wall and continued to grind her. Seeing this, Red Hood fired at Punk, but the latter zipped out of the way at a fast speed and went towards her. Red Hood dodged him just in time, and Punk chased her, but she ran around at a tremendously fast speed and kept on outrunning him.
The chase went on for a while until Punk stopped glowing and changed back to normal, looking tired. "You're… You're fast…!" he said in disbelief.
"Yeah, and that's why I'm better than you!" said Red Hood before firing at him, and he was shot in the head before he could react. She then rushed into him, ramming against him before using her sniper rifle like a baseball bat to whack him away into the air.
Down below, Laplace, who was still in one piece despite the fatal blow earlier, albeit bleeding, pointed her gun at the airborne Punk. "Take this! Laplace Buster!" She fired a large laser beam that engulfed Punk completely.
"THIS IS WHAT I CALL A GREAT FIGHT! GYAAAAAAAAAAAA!" screamed Punk before exploding.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Laplace ended her attack and raised one finger into the air in a pose strike. "The hero wins, like always!"
"Woohoo! It never gets tiring seeing that!" commented Red Hood.
"Whoa! What the heck did I saw just now?! You guys defeated that guy too!" said Quency in disbelief.
"They're just built different," said Epinel with an indifferent tone.
BGM: Battle with Death Queen (Sonic Forces)
Zavok pulled back his fist as Shadow sped in his direction at a stunningly fast speed. The former threw his fist forward, but unsurprisingly, it didn't hit Shadow, who shifted to the side in a blink of an eye. Shadow lifted both legs off the ground and readied to kick him with one foot, but to his surprise, Zavok reacted within a millisecond and swung the fist he threw just now into him, knocking him away.
Shadow landed in a crouching position, and Zavok said to him, "You think it will be easy just because you're fast? I've been training myself to deal with speedsters like you!"
"Am I supposed to be impressed by that?" replied Shadow. He rushed at Zavok to attack him, but the latter was able to block with his hand. Shadow continued to rush around him at a fast speed, trying to hit him, but Zavok managed to react with a fast speed and block each of the blows.
However, what Zavok did not account for was the presence of another speedster as fast as Shadow. As he was busy blocking Shadow's attacks, Sonic rushed into him from the front and rammed into his chest hard, knocking him back. Zavok remained standing as he came to a skidding stop and glared at Sonic. "You're a speedster as well?" he asked.
"Yep, so you better hope you're prepared to face two at once!" Sonic said to him.
"Hmph! It doesn't matter! I can take on several of you at once!" said Zavok as he clenched his fists and got into a fighting stance.
"You better not get too full of yourself! I've faced people like you way too often and made them eat their words, including another version of you!" Sonic said to him before running at him.
Sonic tried to strike Zavok from different sides, but the latter was able to block them with lightning fast reflexes. However, when Shadow joined in with Sonic in attacking Zavok, it became too overwhelming for him to hold up. Eventually, he was struck in various places by Sonic and Shadow when they curled up into balls and struck him rapidly with homing attacks.
Zavok was knocked onto the floor but sat back up almost right away. "Argh! Don't get too full of yourself!" he said in anger as fire appeared on his hand, and then he began shooting fireballs at Sonic and Shadow.
"Oh right, I forgot you can do that..." said Sonic while on the run.
The hedgehogs ran around to avoid the fireballs being fired at them. Sonic got close to him at one point to hit him, but Zavok held up a flaming fist that spooked him, so he backed away before he got too close to be punched by him. "Fire and fur don't mix, so I'm not getting near that!" said Sonic.
With his fist still on fire, Zavok leaped into the air and fell towards Sonic, who moved out of the way. Zavok's fist slammed onto the floor hard and shook the room as well as creating a fiery explosion that propelled Sonic backwards into a wall.
Shadow rushed at Zavok from the back, but the latter spun around and swung his burning hand at him. Shadow backed away, but he failed to avoid a stream of fire that was released from the hand swing afterwards and got blown back by it.
Seeing Sonic and Shadow knocked down, K decided to take action. She pointed her guns at Zavok and fired. Zavok was struck rapidly by her bullets, yet he was not injured and simply felt as if he was shot by pebbles. "Nuisance!" he said in anger before dashing at her with a fist full of fire, plowing through the bullets as he did so.
K rolled out of the way at the last second to avoid getting hit, and then quick as a flash, she tossed herself onto his back and wrapped one arm around his neck before striking him in the side of the head multiple times using her gun. To be precise, the spikes protruding from her gun.
Zavok cried in anger and pain as he struggled to get her off, and he was eventually able to pry off her arm from his neck, slam her against the floor, and bring down his foot onto her abdomen hard, making her cry in pain. He pressed down his foot harder in an attempt to crush her stomach, but Sonic ran into him as a fast speed and rammed him out of the way, saving her.
Sonic pushed Zavok all the way into a wall and then proceeded to hit him over and over with multiple homing attacks. When Sonic stopped, Zavok angrily thrust a fist forward, but Sonic flipped over it and brought down the back of his foot onto his head with an ax kick.
Sonic then grabbed his horn and flipped backwards, tossing Zavok over himself. Before Zavok even touched the floor, Shadow ran up to him and grabbed his shoulder, and then they both disappeared in a flash of purplish light. They both appeared up in the air, where Shadow threw Zavok downwards before curling into a ball and dropping down onto him while surrounded by a purple aura. He struck Zavok's body and forced him down onto the floor hard.

The powerful impact left behind a crater on the floor, and Zavok cried in pain before falling limp unconsciously. Shadow got off him and crossed his arms. "And you said you trained to fight me? I don't see any differences at all!"
Sonic ran up next to Shadow and said, "Yep, you're quite like the Shadow I know all right!"
Shadow looked at him and said, "You're not half bad yourself. I still want answers about who you are though…"
"Don't worry; you'll be told everything once we've met up with my friends!" Sonic said to him.
Tails and K came over, with the former helping the latter walk. "You guys defeated Zavok!" said Tail. "Looks like you both make a great team!"
"Not the first time I've teamed up with him," said Sonic, which confused Shadow. He looked at K holding one hand over her abdomen and asked, "You all right?"
"It's no big deal. My body is artificial, so I can handle pain better than organic beings," K told him.
Several robots rushed into the room and saw the knocked out Zavok on the floor, and they were needless to say, shocked.
"What did you people do to Zavok?!"
"And they even released Shadow from his prison!"
"Get them! Don't let them escape!"
As the robots ran towards the heroes, Sonic and Shadow got into fighting stances. "I can already tell this will be easy!" said Sonic with confidence.
Marine was inside the cabin of her SS Marine, playing a portable game console that resembles a Nintendo DS. She was surprised by the sound of an explosion. Running out of the cabin and going to the edge of the boat, she saw a large amount of smoke coming from the distance, behind several trees. "What happened over there?! That must be coming from the prison building!" she thought. "I hope those folks are all right… If only there is a way to contact them…"
She continued to wait, and eventually, she saw those people rushing out of the woods and towards her. "Get ready to leave, Marine, if you're over there!" shouted K in panic.
Marine was glad to see them, even more so to see Shadow with them. She headed back into the cabin to deactivate the optic camo so that everyone could see the boat. "A boat just appeared out of thin air?!" said Quency in surprise.
The good guys got onto the boat, and at the same time, some robots showed up from the forest, shouting for them to stop. However, they were all silenced when the girls with guns gunned them all down in a matter of seconds. The SS Marine sped off the coast and towards the open sea up ahead.
"All right… Coast should be clear now," said K, looking at the island they were moving away from.
"Mission success, eh? We rescued Shadow and got out of the place in one piece!" said Sonic happily.
"Yep! This mission is a massive success!" said Tails happily.
"I can't believe you managed to rescue Shadow and return from that place alive!" Marine said in disbelief to them. "And were there no other prisoners? Other than this girl in a prison outfit…"
Tails shook her his head. "No, there were no other prisoners. The bad guys don't really keep prisoners as a hobby. Shadow and this girl named Quency are apparently the only prisoners there."
"So what do we do now? Are we going to just keep on sailing like this?" asked Quency.
"We should be at a distance that makes it possible for us to be teleported away," said Tails as he took out his computer pad to look at it. "Yep, it shows that we are in teleportation range now. I'll contact Doctor Light."
He tried to establish a connection with the lab, but there was seemingly no response at all, which made him curious. However, there was eventually response, so he told everyone to get ready.
"Well, this is good-bye for now. Hope to see you folks again, and hopefully the world is saved by that point!" said Marine as she waved them good-bye.
"You can be sure that the world will be saved from that dastardly Eggman and Wily the next time we meet, and it will be very soon!" Sonic assured her.
After saying that, the good guys were teleported away from the place, leaving Marine all by herself on her boat, and she hurriedly sailed back to her hideout.

How is Laplace not cut in half by Punk? Let's just say plot armor is the main reason, and it also stands to point that Laplace is one of the physically strongest Nikke in the game, being able to hold up an entire building using only one hand and using her other hand to type on a phone. I'd imagine her body to be very tough and hard to destroy as well, and maybe even her clothes are designed to be nearly indestructible.
And in case you don't know, Marine is from Sonic Rush Adventure. She only ever appeared in one game, while only making cameos and references in others.
