Chapter 14

Hogwarts Dungeon

As the fire disappeared from around Harry the first thing he notices is the normal looking man kneeling in front of him panting as if he has just finished running.

The second thing Harry noticed was the elaborate glowing runic circle at his feet that was currently binding him to this place. The third and final thing he noticed was that he wasn't in hell anymore, but in the living world, at the behest of this man who looks like he could use a shower.

"For what purpose have you summoned me mortal, my time is not something to be wasted." The voice that left Harry's mouth sounded like hissing and static.

Harry knew that as time went on and he became stronger, he would one day be summoned as he had just been to do the bidding of some mortal. Alastor had taught him every trick he could to make it so that once the deal was over, Harry would walk away with the real prize.

Snape couldn't believe that his summoning worked, not even the dark lord had managed to summon one of these infernal beast.

After he has been rendered unconscious he had missed the creature's arrival, but he didn't miss its final crossover from the lands of hell to the world of the living. As the summoning began to finish Snape moved towards the circle on his knees, since he couldn't stand with his head still ringing slightly.

But he didn't have time to waste on these thoughts, he needed to give this beast his bargain or else suffer the consequences of wasting its time. After carefully considering his words Snape chose to finally answer the demon's question.

"I have summoned you great one to bring me one who died before his time so that he may have a second chance at life."

The creature tilts its monstrous antlered head, eyes narrowing before a smirk grace's its lips showing off its long fangs dripping with venom. The emerald-like eyes surrounded by black and scales, seem to burrow into Snape's very soul, the light flecks of red almost flowing as if the fires of hell tried to escape the creature.

It's four arms crossed and one hand goes to the demon's chin almost as if it was thinking. But Snape knew better, the demon must already have a plan to use this to its advantage but Snape hoped the deal he makes wouldn't be as obvious in its loophole as he was planning to make it.

The pink and red monstrosity moves to the edge of the circle and looks Snape right in his eyes even as he tries to look away.

"Oh and just who is this soul and what is the price you are willing to pay for such a service?" The hissing and static sound as if a snake was speaking through a radio sent shivers and a cold sweat down Snape's spin.

Snape swallows hard and misters the last of his courage as he looks up at the demon he was willing to give anything too. "I ask that you bring back the soul of Harry Potter, my price is my service as a medium for the living world."

--

As soon as Harry heard his name he froze, he didn't know what this human wanted with him but he wasn't about to let this man know just who he was.

"For what purpose do you want this soul in particular mortal?"

Harry had to gather as much information as he could from this man without tipping his hand and getting back to the hotel. After all this summoning was a surprise for everyone and he didn't want to even imagine what it was like at the hotel right now.

Hotel Dining Room

Alastor was still shocked at what had just happened, he had tried to interrupt the summoning but his magic had been repelled and now his son was gone.

Behind him the others were all shouting and screaming trying to figure out what had just happened and why. But the worst off was Angel, he was sobbing on the ground where their son had been screaming about his baby boy.

Alastor snaps out of it and moves to comfort Angel who curls into him and quickly drenches Alastor's coat with tears as he tries to sooth Angel.

"Come now my dear we won't have to wait long I'm sure the lad will be back any minute."

Angel pulls back from the embrace not fully leaving it but enough so that he can look Alastor in the eyes.

"And how do you know that for certain babe, what if whoever took him binds him to the living world just so they can have his power forever."

The reality around the couple warps showing the clear agitation of the idea of their son being trapped in such a way. Alastor reaches a hand up and grabs Angel by the chin and stares even deeper into his eyes.

"Then my darling arachnid, we will just have to go and find whoever did this and make sure they understand the error of their ways."

The looks that spread across the couples face sent a shiver through the groups spine but none of them would dare stop them from going on the rampage for their son. They all just hoped that there would be a living world left once they finally found Harry and brought him back.

Everyone moves over to the table and ignores the food, once they all sit down they begin to make plans for if Harry doesn't make it back from his s first summoning. They wait and wait simply shooting ideas back and forth seeing what they could come up with, even if huskers idea of simply drinking until he shows up was denied instantly.

As the group was winding down and beginning to gather their wits to make a plan to retrieve their stolen ward once again a wall of fire erupts in the exact same spot as earlier.

Once it disappears standing once more amongst his family was Harry, who was quickly dog piled on with everyone trying to see if he was injured or anything else. Once everyone got control of themselves and stopped speaking over each other Harry spoke up Nas what he said silenced.

"We have a problem and a very short deadline to fix it."

Snape was about to answer the demon but stopped himself before rethinking his story then after he felt the demon would gain nothing from it started to speak.

"A long time ago when I was a boy, I met a young girl who was like me, strange and talented. We grew up together, the best of friends, until one day I said something I shouldn't have, so she fell in love with one I hated. one who saved me and put me in his debt."

The loneliness and self loathing in his voice was thick, but after all this time it felt good to get this all off his chest even if it was to a demon.

"They married and had a child, if I had not said what I had maybe that child would have been mine. But in my jealousy and anger I led them to their deaths, leaving her only child and orphan, he was left with the worst sort of people imaginable."

The hurt and sadness fell off him in waves and he was sure the demon must have been eating it up, but he didn't care so long as it helped his deal.

"These people we left him with were supposed to teach him about us and who he truly was. Instead they treated him like a house elf until the day they pushed it too far, The day I found out the last thing I had to connect me to the women I loved had been taken from me."

The silence that followed was thick, almost as if it was a weighted blanket thrown over the entire room. The demon simply stood there staring at Snape seemingly thinking about what he had just said before it spoke in that hissing, static voice.

"Why would you have me bring back the child and not your love, surely you would rather have her then some child?"

Snape almost thought the demon's confusion was genuine but knew better than to believe that. But he decided to answer it for fear that it would be displeased by his lack of etiquette.

"Obviously I would wish for her, but the laws of resurrection clearly state only the young and untainted may be brought back from death."

--

Harry didn't know what this guy was talking about but if it gave him more time to come up with a plan then the better. After all this man just handed him enough rope to hang him and possibly give Harry a chance for revenge against those who put him with the Dursley's.
