The first thing he noticed, as the wind turned to blow in his face, was that whatever he was following didn't smell remotely human. It smelled more like some kind of clay, strangely enough, and as Tommy continued tracking the strange creature through the field until the grasses slowly thinned out into dirt under his paws, he couldn't help wondering just what else he was going to end up finding out.

(Whatever this thing is, Billy, I can tell you it's not human,) he said. (We're getting close to some kind of a cave. I'm going to see if I can get a look inside.)

Making sure that he wasn't drawing too much attention from the… walking clay creature he'd been following, Tommy began to hear the sounds of shuffling and even speech from the depths of the cave that the pair of them were clearly headed for. Narrowing his eyes as he made his way in, Tommy forced himself not to react as he heard a voice that he'd become entirely too familiar with.

(Billy, it's Rita. That clay Frankenstein I've been tracking is one of her monsters,) he reported, slinking near the front of the cave, knowing that he would be in more than a bit of trouble if he ended up drawing too much attention from either Rita herself or any of her monsters. (She's talking about some kind of super Putties. She has a bunch of Putties mining for clay, though, so she might be talking about that.)

Forcing himself not to react as he felt himself grabbed from behind, Tommy found that it was Squatt who'd been the one to grab Tommy while he'd been distracted by Rita and all the Putties she'd had in the cave alongside her.

"Look, Baboo, I found a doggie!"

"Squatt, get rid of that mangy thing!" Rita shouted, drowning out anything that Baboo might have said in response.

"Aww," Squatt said, sounding more disappointed than Tommy had ever heard him sound before.

As Baboo made shooing motions at him, Tommy glanced a last time at Squatt, and then quickly left the cave behind. He had a lot of things to report to Billy.
