After the pair of them had teleported to the Command Center to report to Zordon, since neither of them was quite sure of what to do about the new clay that Rita seemed so excited about. However, the rest of the Power Rangers quickly teleported in behind them, reporting on some kind of earthquake. If he hadn't tracked Rita to that cave, if he and Billy hadn't been following that strange, clay creature, Tommy might have thought that it was just another hazard of living in California.
Given what he and Billy had found out, it was obvious that Rita was behind it.
Morphing alongside the rest of the Power Rangers, Tommy paused for a moment when Zordon advised all of them to be careful, since it was possible that Rita had used that new clay she had been searching for to make whatever monster was causing the earthquake. That could be a problem for them, depending on just what that "super putty" Rita had been talking about was actually capable of.
Teleporting back to Angel Grove again, Tommy quickly found himself and the rest of the Rangers forced to fight the clay creature that he and Billy had been tracking; he hadn't been expecting anything else, but under the circumstances Tommy still found the situation kind of funny.
