WONDER WOMAN : THE ENEMY OF MY ANCESTOR

EPILOGUE

The warm rays of the sun bathed the quiet streets of Karditsa, a picturesque town in the heart of Greece. The trees lining the roads swayed gently in the breeze, their leaves casting playful shadows on the pavement. Outside the entrance of a small school, children spilled out in laughter and chatter, their backpacks bouncing against their backs as they raced toward waiting parents or guardians. Among them was a boy with bright green eyes and a mess of brown hair, his features soft with the innocence of youth. Leandros clutched his school bag tightly, his smile wide as he scanned the crowd. He wasn't looking for his adoptive mother this time, though he adored her dearly. Today, it was someone else's turn to pick him up.

Diana leaned casually against a sleek black car parked by the curb, her tall frame and regal posture drawing the eyes of passersby. She wore a simple white blouse and jeans, but her presence radiated an unspoken strength, a quiet power that could not be hidden. When she spotted him, her expression softened, a warm smile spreading across her face. Leandros spotted her almost immediately, his face lighting up with excitement.

"Aunt Diana!".

he called out, running toward her with a boundless energy only a child could possess. Diana crouched to meet him, catching him in a gentle embrace.

"Leandros". she greeted, her voice filled with affection, "How was school today?".

He pulled back just enough to look at her, his green eyes sparkling.

"It was good! We learned about Alexander the Great, and Miss Maria said i did a really good job on my essay!".

His words tumbled out in a rush, his pride evident. Diana chuckled, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead.

"I'm not surprised. You're a bright boy".

She stood and opened the car door for him.

"Come on, let's go. I thought we could stop for some ice cream before heading home".

As they drove through the sunlit streets of Karditsa, Leandros chattered away about his day—his friends, his teacher, the books he was reading. Diana listened attentively, the boy's enthusiasm was infectious, and for a time, the weight of her own past felt lighter. They stopped at a small café by the town square, where an older woman behind the counter greeted them warmly. Diana ordered a coffee for herself and the promised ice cream for Leandros. They sat at a table outside, the gentle hum of life around them creating a serene backdrop.

Leandros dug into his treat with gusto, his feet swinging beneath the table. Between bites, he glanced up at Diana.

"Aunt Diana, how come you're not around all the time? Mama says you're really busy".

Diana hesitated for a moment, her gaze drifting to the distant horizon.

"I have responsibilities. Things I have to take care of to keep people safe".

Leandros tilted his head curiously,

"Like a superhero?".

Diana smiled softly,

"Something like that".

The boy grinned, seemingly satisfied with her answer. He returned to his ice cream, leaving Diana to her thoughts, she watched him, astonished at the contrast between his previous and current life, such is the power of Athena. Leandros didn't remember the pain and suffering of his past life, and for that, Diana was grateful. This life, this quiet and peaceful existence, was the one he deserved. She would do everything in her power to protect it, to ensure that he never had to face the darkness that once defined him. For now, though, it was enough to simply sit in the warmth of the sun, listening to the laughter of a child who had been given a chance to start over.
