Two thousand years into the past…

Bobby was busy looking at some of the lore books in his library as he was remembering what he once took out a few years ago. The image of the basilisk dawned on him as he never forgot about how he nearly lost his life in that hunting mission in Dearborn, Michigan. Even though the threat was averted, he never expected to reminisce about how he faced death in the form of a serpent that was haunting a trailer park a few years prior, for he knew of it very well. Just as he was about to put the book away, he heard the door open up as he saw Jody coming into the house in which she was mainly checking up on him, for she also went through too much after the Apocalypse ended.

"How's it going?" she asked.

"I've been looking at the Dearborn case in which I had to deal with what came out of a Harry Potter movie," said Bobby as he set the book down on the table. "Time flies when we all have fun, but after what nearly happened to me, all forms of crap hit the fan all at once."

"At least Sam has his soul back in him instead of acting like that guy in The Shining."

"Yeah…, but I'm trying hard not to think about it. As for the basilisk case, this was one of the worst in which Rufus and I nearly got our asses handed to us by that snake in the grass."

"I see what you mean…"

"The snake that I saw didn't like someone's pet python that ran out of its glass cage. It was far worse in which its stare can kill you if you look into it."

Jody picked up the book as she saw the image of the basilisk on the page. She never saw anything like it before as this would soon be a turning point in the future, for the lore of it still remained in memory…

Present day…

Reiko and Jill were up and alert as they were making their way outside to where the harbor was. It was the time for the rite as they were ready to go towards the hive in which other Chonoids were waiting to pass the test towards adulthood. In Jill's case, she was more than likely to be living in the hive once she completes the rite. By the time they reached the pathway to the hive, they saw several sentries carting away a Chonoid's body in a stretcher as she was gripped with something other than being petrified, for she was struck down by a stare of the basilisk that was still lurking all over the hive.

"Something isn't right," said Jill as she was scared.

"It's the work of a basilisk like Sammy said," said Reiko.

"We have to cancel the rite!" yelled Lyra as she was concerned about the other Chonoids who lived in the hive near the harbor. "The basilisk that got let out is just another form of a personal vendetta against me just to harm more villagers!"

"You cannot do this, Lady Lyra!" said a Chonoid as she was dressed up in Sindar clothing. "We've been waiting since the start of spring and it would be an absolute sacrilege if we abandoned it."

"It's better than having the rest of you getting killed. As soon as that basilisk is found, the better we track it down before it does more damage."

"But it would be a failure…"

"It'll end up being a failure if we don't find and kill the monster that's been loitering around the hive, Ch'Vrenn. It's better to protect your aspirants than have them stared down to death."

"Wait!"

Jill was more than likely to speak up as she was also looking forward into participating in the rite of passage that most Chonoids were going for. Still, she had to prove herself as she wanted to be on the cusp of adulthood, for this was the only chance to give her future hive the proverbial boon that they needed.

"Reiko and I will kill the basilisk," she said. "It is for the good of the hive here so that it won't draw breath again."

"You can't be serious!" yelled Ch'Vrenn. "You're just a child!"

"I am more than just a child, for I'm the daughter of C'Torrha and the archangel, Michael! I will stop this threat with Reiko with me, for this will be my hive to protect now and forever!"

"She's right," she said. "The monster that is terrorizing the hive may either stare down or petrify its victims, but it's not invulnerable. It's weak against the pheromones of a weasel and it can be killed by mirrors or the crowing of a rooster." Reiko fishes out a small elegant hand mirror as she was ready to do battle. "We must be careful, for the basilisk is hiding somewhere in the grasses."

And so, Reiko and Jill were making their way towards the grasses as they noticed some skid marks that were etched into them as if they were burnt onto the soil. They had to do their part into dealing with the basilisk as they also had to protect the aspirants, for this was just the beginning of what was going on so far…

I made my way outside with Yorvanar and Marie-Therese in tow. Our stroll towards the hive was limited as men were forbidden to observe the rite. We were aware of what was going on as we saw some of the aspirants still shaken after this morning's tragedy. What we didn't expect was that the leader of the hive, Ch'Vrenn, was concerned about the fate of what was yet to come as she couldn't take the stigma the moment she ran up to me and grabbed my arm. It wasn't long until I felt her pricking me with one of her nails as I felt the blood being dropped onto a piece of litmus paper the moment it glowed. She was now aware of me as she was in dire need of assistance, for she was also ready to break the taboo in order to save the hive from the basilisk that was crawling all over the place.

"Your wife left with one of our aspirants, My Lord," she said.

"Where did they go?" asked Marie-Therese.

"They made their way to the proving grasses near our hive in which they meet the ocean. I know that the basilisk is there because of the fact that it killed one of the aspirants this morning."

"From what I heard, the one who let out the snake in the grass is none other than Tobin Brackenstall," I said. "It also seems that he did it out of frustration all because Lyra refuses to take another spouse after her husband's death."

"Tobin Brackenstall is a stain upon this land that is occupied by the Trujillo Clan. The only thing that he wants is to have Lady Lyra in his bed!"

"Lyra hasn't had anyone to select since that bastard, Iago, raped her," said Yorvanar. "She used her Nephilim abilities to intimidate him after he violated her, but when he came here again, he was grinning as if he won the lottery. He was wanting an heir from her until he listened to the fortune tellers in his inner circle in which he found out that she was carrying a girl. That was when he kicked to the point of miscarrying in which he wanted no other woman than his sister. Till this day, no one from House Arkhelios ever set foot on Trujillo land again in which they were also met with more than just a warning, for Lyra displayed her Nephilim abilities a lot stronger to the point of banning them."

"Still, we wait…," I said. "By Chonoid law, men are forbidden to enter into the hive, but we can—"

"—There's no time, My Lord," said Ch'Vrenn. "I know that it goes against our rules, but your wife cannot fight the basilisk alone. She needs you, for her tools alone won't be able to fend off the monster in the grasses."

I reluctantly agreed as I was also breaking a Chonoid taboo at this time. I sensed that the basilisk would come towards Reiko without warning as I took the lead and went straight towards the hive. With Yorvanar and Marie-Therese following me, we entered inside as it was different with most of the Chonoids still shaken by the presence of the basilisk still terrorizing the grasses. There were also a few Chonoid mothers looking after their eggs as they were fearing for the worst while living in fear of the basilisk still roaming near their home. It wasn't long until I saw some of the aspirants bowing in front of me as they viewed me to be the Holy Father in the annals of Reikology, for I had to console them in this time of crisis.

"There's no need to bow, for Reiko and Jill have went to the grasses," I said.

"Look at them," said Marie-Therese as she saw some of the aspirants still worried. "They're not just shaken, they're terrified. From certain lores, basilisks or any other serpent have a knack for eating their own young or other eggs for dominance."

"And I know that some of the Chonoids here happen to be mothers," I said. "No wonder the basilisk was slithering near the hive."

It wasn't long until Yorvanar looked at one of the Chonoids as he recognized her directly. He knew of her to be one of the mothers as he once protected her from the wrath of Bertram Blackthorne's forces at the time. When he saw her safeguarding her eggs, she was scared to death for their safety as she didn't want the intrusive serpent coming here and taking them, for they were a part of her after all.

"Long time, no see, Z'Kirva," he said.

"Yorvanar," she said. "It's been a long time since you saved me from those extremists back then."

"Much obliged, but I'm blessed that you've laid your eggs after your courtship to your mate."

"He's stationed as a part of Emperor Florian's sentries in which he sometimes visits me from time to time. As for our daughters that will hatch, I refuse to leave them alone after seeing that thing terrorizing our hive. From what I know, a new Chonoid decided to take part in the rite, but not without that Elf woman who shot an arrow into the moon. I just hope to the gods that the basilisk won't get to them… There had already been too many incidents stemming from that creature that kills you with his stare if one looks at it. Perhaps some advice from the Holy Father can help us in this crisis in which we cannot leave the hive unattended."

It wasn't long until the eggs in Z'Kirva's nest began to hatch as they emerged from their shells in a time of danger. I noticed the baby Chonoids fidgeting while crying after taking their first breaths. It was the miracle of life in such a dangerous time as I was glad that the newborns were not snake food at this time. When I looked at the newborns, they were born female like most Chonoids as they were also safe from harm, for this was something that was up to Reiko and Jill in this rite of passage after all…

Reiko was going further into the training grasses as Jill trailed her while on the lookout for the basilisk. What they found was the body of another aspirant as she was another one of the basilisk's victims. They also noticed a piece of snake skin near the body as Reiko picked it up in which she was concerned about what was going on, for the annual rite that Jill waited for became tainted by the presence of a serpent who killed with a stare. Further and further, they reached a swampy area as Reiko felt her dress being soaked while having her shoes wet while Jill was treading with no problem due to her Chonoid physiology, for they were on the trail of the monster that was terrorizing the hive and tainting the annual rite to adulthood.

"This was where the endurance was about to start," said Jill.

"And our snake didn't slow down while leaving the grasses," said Reiko as she noticed a skid mark near the watery reeds. "It's after something in which the other aspirants refuse to leave the hive."

"I read about my people and how they lived in their hives in which some of them became mothers while laying their eggs. It's biding its time just to see them letting their guard down just to eat their young."

It wasn't long until Reiko heard something rustling in the reeds as she held out her mirror in defense of her surroundings. What she didn't expect was that a familiar ferret popped out of the reeds as she was also sniffing at where the basilisk would be. It was Jody as she was still on the prowl searching for the serpent as she wasn't about to let it out of her sight, for she also had a bone to pick with the one who let it out in the first place.

"You're looking for something," said Jill as she saw Jody still sniffing for clues.

"The Science Corps is pissed that Tobin had the gall to let out a lethal predator like the basilisk," she said. "This isn't the first time that one of them got taken out in which Bobby once killed one while hunting in Michigan. Years later, the Winchesters of Old took out a basilisk in Odessa, Washington in which it occupied an abandoned country club. Basilisks are deadly in which some of them have been sealed away until Tobin Brackenstall decided to let it out just to terrorize the hive near the harbor."

"We need to be on our guard," said Reiko as she hears a slithering sound in the distance. "It's near the proving reeds."

"Damn it! The serpent's going back to its lair!"

Reiko noticed the basilisk's tail in the distance as she had her mirror in her hand. She was careful as she also had to protect Jill and Jody from the monster in the reeds in which she later noticed the skid marks in the soil due to it slithering for a quick meal. Still, there was a rite to perform as the hunt for the basilisk was beginning to be a little more complicated than normal, for it had to be taken out before it tried to threaten the residents of the hive again…

Lyra was waiting near the dock as she was concerned about what was going on. She had a gut feeling that Tobin would pull a dirty trick to let out a lethal predator like the basilisk as she also wanted to slug him for what he pulled. Still, she remained guarded as she refused to allow another man near her after the passing of Esteban. She also remembered how Iago violated her in which she knew of his vile cruelty when he raped her and later kicked her to the point of miscarrying. Till this day, she never married again nor allowed another man to give her comfort in which it was all too much for her. Just as she was about to leave for her homestead, she saw Tobin arriving as he was noticing her while displaying a cruel smirk on his face. She wanted to punch him in the face as he was still wanting to bed her for a long time, for he had a way with tempting her to quick anger.

"It seems that you got the message, Lyra," he said.

"You broke into that facility, didn't you?" she said as she was starting to get angrier. "Because of your arrogance and stupidity, it's causing our Chonoid neighbors so much worry to the point of cancelling their annual rite."

"If only you said yes to me, Lyra… If you did so, none of this would've ever happened. It would've been nice of you to spend less time caring too much and more time in the bedroom with me."

"Haven't you gotten the message yet?! I will never marry again nor will I ever take another man in my bed! I already had one man take advantage of me after I lost Esteban and you would end up doing the same in which I won't bend the knee for your sorry ass! For years, you wanted me in which the answer remains the same. And now, you steep to such lows by breaking into a Science Corps facility and let out a lethal predator terrorizing our Chonoid neighbors in their hive!"

"Those insects are insignificant to us. As for you, I wanted to do this for a long time now."

Tobin leaned forward as he grabbed Lyra and kissed her forcibly. The feel of his lips disgusted her as she pulled away in which he refused to let her go. Just as he was about to kiss her again, she headbutted him as he let go of her while falling off the dock. Wiping her lips, she was making her point clear as she was eager to put Tobin in his place, for she didn't want to tolerate his misogynistic behavior any longer. By the time she saw him get up on the dock, he was dripping wet as his clothes were clinging to his body. Still, she didn't want any other man to claim her as she was ready to strike again, for she was getting fed up with Tobin's arrogance so far.

"No one touches me, for I refuse to take another man again!" she cried as she punched Tobin in the face. "I am no one's prize nor someone that is meant to be paraded like some overdue beauty queen that's forced to put coercion over dignity! As for your actions, you're already treading in deeper waters in which the Order doesn't tolerate thieves who steal captive lore monsters or cursed items!"

"And you still cling to a dead man, Lyra," he said as he was still reeling where she punched him. "You're still a hollow person all because you still love your beloved Esteban! Let me tell you one thing clearly: your precious Esteban is gone! He is never coming back!"

"Don't you ever talk about him that way, is that under-fucking-stood?!" Lyra later kicks Tobin in the crotch as he felt the sting of the pain that followed. "My private life is my own business, Tobin, not yours or anyone else's! As for you, I suggest that you leave me alone or else I will turn your ass into dust the next time I see you!"

It wasn't long until Tobin scurried away as he was left reeling from the humiliation that followed afterwards. Still, Lyra wasn't having it as she was also concerned about the safety of her Chonoid neighbors. The thought of his words about referring to them as insignificant insects was also the last straw as she didn't want anything to do with those who had close ties with the Brackenstall Family, It was the most she could do in which she didn't want anyone to harass those who lived on Trujillo land. Just as she was about to return to her homestead, she noticed a seaship entering into the harbor as she noticed members of the Science Corps getting out of it. She had a feeling that they were after the basilisk that is terrorizing the hive here as they were also seeing the Chonoids annual rite being cancelled due to the monster roaming freely, for they had to either capture it or kill it.

"I see that Akio dispatched you here to deal with the lethal predator that was stolen," she said.

"We aren't here for a chit-chat, Lyra," said a High Elf woman as she was dressed in a Science Corps uniform. "All we know was that Tobin Brackenstall has screwed the pooch after he stole the specimen that was deemed a lethal predator."

"Kagura Stauber… I might've known that you would be here in which your grandmother still sails the seas all the live long."

"Grandma had a gut feeling that Tobin would pull a dick move just to force you to marry him and take your land you inherited from Esteban and she was right."

"A few days ago, we saw security footage at one of our facilities in which it houses lore specimens and cursed objects that can't be used. From what I heard, Tobin, who is still wanting to get you into his bed, had this hairbrained idea to take the basilisk that was in captivity just to force you to marry after all the suffering you endured."

"Stand aside!"

Lyra noticed another High Elf coming as he was dressed in Sindar clothing. The man himself had red hair and blue eyes similar to Yokose's as he was also wearing glasses. Still, he was a member of the Stauber Clan as he was there to arrest Tobin for theft in which he didn't want any more specimens or cursed objects stolen just to aid in one's personal vendetta. When he stared at the hive near the harbor, he was sensing the quietness of it as he had a gut feeling that he would find the basilisk here, for it was posed as an extreme threat to everyone who lived here.

"It was a bad move to have Jody coming here alone," he said.

"Hiroyuki Stauber," said Lyra. "You come here too little, too late, but let's hope that you find what you're looking for."

"There's an arrest warrant against Tobin Brackenstall and it seems that he left hastily back to his homestead. What's even worse is that a certain ferret quickly rushed in without any backup and she's no stranger to dealing with loss and hardship in the Elder Days."

"You better find that small animal before it ends up becoming the basilisk's next meal. There's also a reason why it slithers around the hive is because some of the Chonoids here are nesting and not leaving their young unattended."

"That 'small animal' is the reincarnated soul of the woman who faced hardship and sadness in the Elder Days," said Kagura. "In life, she was a sheriff who lost her husband and son during the Apocalypse in which she moved on and dedicated her life to hunting. She even fostered a runaway who became her foster daughter in which some of her descendants have thrived on Westeros. Still, she's on the trail, but from what is seen in the proving grasses near the hive, there's a Chonoid aspirant still standing along with—no…,—Reiko is out there!"

Kagura was concerned about what was happening as she was aware of what was going on. She was aware of Reiko's status as a legend as she also didn't want anything terrible to happen to her. In the end of this debacle, she had to search for her due to her connection to the Mitani Clan, for things have gotten complicated further…

Reiko was treading in the reeds as she noticed the vegetation being withered after the basilisk passed through earlier. With Jill and Jody following her, they noticed a larger trail leading to a hole near a mound as it was much larger than anything. Without further hesitation, they went into the hole as they found it to be dry below. The place itself was an underground bunker as it was abandoned after the war between the Oranges and the Blues. What they also didn't expect was that there was a Va'Kihri ship near it as it ended up being blended with the bunker. What they also saw was pieces of snake skin that was shed as there were also traces of animals that were eaten due to the fact that it was surviving while desperate to eat the eggs that were in the hive, for it was ready to try again.

"I can sense death here in this place," said Jill as she was shaking with fear.

"Don't let your guard down," said Jody as she was scurrying all over the place. "Basilisks are known to drag and eat lesser prey, but they have an addiction to eating eggs as if they're high on crack."

"And some of the neighbors who live in the hive are mothers," said Reiko. "The basilisk is wanting to devour their young, but whoever let it out is putting the Chonoids at risk and those who live here."

"This was Tobin's dirty work. For years, he lusted after Lyra after she suffered through hardship in which she kept refusing him multiple times. Still, she loved Esteban till the bitter end, but that didn't stop the countless men who wanted to bed her after being a widow. After his passing, she ended up being pursued by Iago in which he ended up raping her to the point of her being pregnant with his child, only to kill it and causing her to miscarry after he found out it was a girl. She nearly died if Bruce and his troops hadn't rescued her in time in which his brother was made Emperor after Esteban's passing. Years later, Tobin demanded that she marry him and secure his land, but she turned him down multiple times. As for his latest attempt, he screwed the pooch when he broke into the Science Corps' facility and stole the basilisk just to spite Lyra by attacking her neighbors."

"This is cruel and inexcusable. Tobin Brackenstall may have the gall to harass Lady Lyra, but bringing a dangerous monster here? No, we can't let him get away with this crime in which he's also responsible for putting the Chonoids at risk here."

Without warning, Reiko heard the sound of the basilisk slithering in the distance as she held the mirror up close. Closing her eyes, she didn't want to stare directly at the serpent as Jill and Jody did the same. At that moment, the basilisk came out of one of the halls as it was ready to strike in which the easy prey came to it. Just as it was about to do so, a burst of raw power began to weaken it as its eyes exploded like popped water balloons. Shrieking in agony, the basilisk was blinded as it wasn't about to be defeated the moment Reiko led Jill and Jody away from the room in the underground bunker. Even though they fled further into the mess hall, they saw the basilisk there as it was seething with anger after being blinded. It knew their scent and trail so well as it was ready to make a meal out of them, but not without an ace up their sleeve.

"You've been blinded, but you still pursue us," said Jill as she stood firm. "I know that Reiko has her reasons to protect me and the rest of my family, but this is my turn to protect her!" Her Nephilim abilities begin to resonate as she was not afraid of the basilisk in front of her. "Family is everything, regardless of being related or not!"

At that moment, Jill released a torrent of power stemming from her Nephilim abilities on the basilisk as it ended up being burned to a crisp. She wanted to protect everyone as she was taught about the kindness that was inherited in the family she had. Even Reiko was astonished that the monster was destroyed as she was thankful that Jill did her best to avert the threat, for she proved herself worthy as the only aspirant that participated in the rite.

"I couldn't let that thing hurt us," she said.

"You did fine, for I am very blessed that you grew up," said Reiko.

"You weren't the only one who helped," said Jody.

"Sammy sensed us even though it was taboo to participate in the rite, for it is void."

"It is not void!"

Lyra entered into the bunker as she had members of the Science Corps coming in to collect the charred remains of the basilisk. What they didn't expect was that I greeted Reiko and the others in which I was grateful that they were safe. That was when I noticed her hugging me warmly as she was happy that I intervened in blinding the basilisk earlier, for I couldn't let it harm her or the others with her.

"Thank goodness," she said.

"I had no choice but to use my raw power to blind it or else you and Jill would've ended up dead," I said. "Even though I broke taboo in coming here, I couldn't let you be put at risk against that monster."

"That was when I charred it," said Jill as she was happy with her accomplishment.

"You've finally grew up just as your father imagined. I know that he was done dirty in the Elder Days, but—"

"Family doesn't end with blood, Sam," said Jody as she scurried towards me. "Your ward proved herself worthy to fight the basilisk just to turn it into barbecue. She's now proven herself to her new hive after all."

It wasn't long until we noticed some of the aspirants from the rite arriving as they bowed in front of Jill. Even though she came a long way to prove herself, she was more than enough to protect her new family that was waiting for her. We were all proud of her as she was now more responsible due to her stance against the basilisk that she killed earlier. Still, the killing of such a lethal lore monster and the discovery of the underground bunker combined with a Va'Kihri derelict ship was mainly a place that was abandoned for years until it was found once the basilisk made it to be its lair. I also wanted to discover more of the bunker until I noticed a door that was locked tightly. I had a gut feeling that it was unused as I stood in front of it the moment the door activated quickly, for it was scanning me for an odd reason.

"Identifying retinal scan," said a computer voice as it scanned my eye. "Retinal scan approved." I noticed the door being unlocked as it revealed a compartment that wasn't used in years. "Greetings, Sam Winchester, you now have access to our codex lab."

I rushed into the room as I saw some of the artefacts that were collected over the centuries. I also noticed a poster that had an image of Batman, Catwoman, and the Penguin plastered on it while it was encased in a plastic frame. Even Reiko and the others were amazed to see this unblemished place as it also had various collections from the past, including some old action figures that were left in their packages. Even Jill was astonished to see this as whoever lived here had a knack for collecting old figures, for they were a window to what was left behind in the Elder Days.

"This place is much larger than the hive above," she said.

"And there's a name to the Va'Kihri ship," I said as I noticed it painted on the wall. "This derelict ship is called the Tashlin in which it's also a part of the bunker that is now known as the Serpent's Lair."

"As soon as we clean it up, we'll make it liveable in times of trouble. I also had to stop the basilisk that was terrorizing everything."

"You've finally grew up, for you'll also be making an effort in helping out with your new sisters in arms," said Reiko. "Still, you also found a home of your own in which you also have a family to rely on when things get rough."

"You've got this, Jill…" I see her looking at us as she was shedding tears of joy. "You may be on the cusp of adulthood, but you have so much more to grow on. Never forget that…"

Jill was grateful that she was carving her own path as she was now part of the hive near the village. Reiko and I were happy that she made it there despite the fact that she was the only aspirant that was brave enough to kill the basilisk, for this entry in her coming of age rite was something that couldn't be forgotten lightly…

Tobin was near the beach as he was still reeling from where Lyra attacked him earlier. He was also embarrassed at the humiliation that he suffered from as he was about to go through worse. When he was ready to pick a bone with me when he got to the villa, he saw Dean arriving as he was more than likely to berate him out in the open. Little did he know was that he was about to get a taste of his own medicine in the form of whoever was wanting to arrest him in the first place. Still, he kept nursing at his pride as he also wanted to get back at Lyra for humiliating in the process, for he was also wanting to use violence as an answer than harsh words.

"That villa doesn't belong to you!" he yelled as he spotted Dean in the distance.

"Really? This place is occupied by my little brother, so I suggest that you watch what you say around here," he said. "Still, I'm here to check up on him 'cause he's been busy helping everyone around the house."

"Uncle Dean!"

Fuyuka rushed outside as she was ready to greet him, but she stopped when she saw Tobin enraged and wanting to hurt something. Still, Dean wasn't about to let the landowner get his way as he got in front of Fuyuka in which he wasn't about to let him get his way, for he was in for a rude awakening on the horizon.

"Out of my way, Captain!" yelled Tobin as he had his fists clenched. "That affair baby of your brother's must be taught to know her place!"

"You better not try it 'cause I'm about to kick your ass if you even try to hurt a little kid!" yelled Dean as he wasn't having it. "From what I heard, that 'affair baby' happens to by my niece in which I got word from her father about how those asshats in noble clothing had the gall to target her just to add to their sick collection! And to top it off, I also got word that I'm about to take the throne as the next Alecrian Emperor, so I suggest that you back off or else I'll turn your sorry ass into a pincushion!"

Tobin wasn't scared of Dean as he walked away quietly. What he didn't expect was that Hiroyuki was standing in front of him as he slapped a pair of handcuffs on his wrists. He nearly at his breaking point as he was still reeling from the humiliation that he suffered from. In that moment, he was done for as he had no options left, for he was about to hear the worst thing he never wanted to be pulled under to.

"Tobin Brackenstall, you're under arrest," said Hiroyuki.

"You pitiful fool," he said as he smirked. "Don't you know that I have immunity towards prosecution?"

"Really? Sawney Masbath said the same thing and look where it got him. As for your frequent harassment towards Lyra, you won't be out of the crosshairs because of the fact that you let out a lethal predator from one of the Science Corps' facilities just out of spite for all those times she rejected you."

"If she would've been submissive in the bedroom, none of this would've happened. I wanted her! I demanded that she give herself to me, but she made me do it by stealing the basilisk just to get back at her for rejecting me!"

"Do you know how many aspirants died near the hive after that when they saw that thing? We're lucky that Reiko's guidance and her young ward's courage to use her own Nephilim abilities to kill the serpent were the boon that we all needed. As for your own antics, your homestead has been confiscated and your heirs and servants displaced. Starting now, you no longer have a home to return to after what happened near the hive. Your actions not only caused panic, but also cost some lives at the crosshairs of that serpent. Akio's gonna have a field day in grilling your ass after what you pulled. You can't evade the law forever in which theft of deadly lore monsters and cursed objects are a serious crime in which it leads to incarceration towards the Moon Cellar on Targaryen."

It wasn't long until Tobin was taken away as he hung his head in shame. Even though the threat was averted, the damage to the Brackenstall Family's reputation was already taking a massive hit as there would be repercussions for what was pulled earlier, for fate dealt a killer blow to the landowner and his clan…

Marie-Therese was making her way towards the underground bunker as she saw some of the Chonoid aspirants looking around while the adults were busy cleaning it from top to bottom. She never saw anything like it before as she went towards the mess hall where the basilisk was killed. The presence of some of the Science Corps were busy gathering specimens from where it was charred as the bulk of it was removed the moment Jill finished it off. She also noticed Ch'Vrenn looking into the bunker as she never saw anything like it before, for this was now known as the Serpent's Lair after Jill saved everyone near the hive from the wrath of the basilisk earlier.

"I've never saw anything like this before, but this bunker is sacred to the one who killed the basilisk that terrorized us," she said as she was making her point clearly. "From now on, this will be a holy place where the Chonoid known as Jill had used her abilities inherited from the archangel, Michael, in order to kill the basilisk that terrorized us."

"I've heard of him before," said Marie-Therese. "It's been said that he housed the vessel of Adam Milligan until he finally forgave the Winchesters of Old and moved on to be the steward of the Middle Ground. Still, he must've had his reason to sire someone like Jill in which most angels and demons would go after her for what she has."

"Most of the angels and demons hardly ever come here because of the fact that Lyra calls the shots while helping all of us thrive here. Her love for her people on Trujillo Land is a godsend in which most of us admire her for her courage and strength to care for all of us. It's also said that something blinded the basilisk before Jill finished it off, for it is the will of the gods that propel us to remain resilient in the darkest of times."

"I'm glad that the worst was over…"

Marie-Therese went back outside near the reeds as she noticed me and Reiko standing next to Jill. We were happy that she succeeded in putting an end to the basilisk as we would soon part with our ward, for she had a family within the hive now. Still, Marie-Therese felt an aching in her heart as she was alone in which she had no one else to turn to after she was cut off from seeing her siblings. She also saw the connection that Reiko and I had with Jill and the rest of our family and friends as she was shedding tears of sorrow. Even though she exposed her mother's criminal activities, that still wasn't enough in her family as she was taught since birth to show respect to her parents, regardless of how one of them became rotten in the end.

"If only I didn't have someone rotten for a mother…," she said to herself. "If only I followed the example that I saw earlier…"

"What are you talking about? You're a lot better than that," said Lyra as she was here to oversee the hive and the underground bunker. "You should take a page out of what the King of the Grey Havens had in which he also had parental issues when it came to his father, Lucifer. Thankfully, he had the wisdom of three wise men that guided him to be more kind and lenient in the future."

It wasn't long until Dean appeared out of nowhere as he was holding Fuyuka's hand. He was more than likely to tell me what was going on as he noticed Marie-Therese here, for she also had to report to him due to her status as a member of the Hunter Corps. When he ran towards me, he had to tell me about all the mess that happened while I was gone, for there would be no end to what was going on right now.

"Tobin Brackenstall's been arrested," he said. "You should've seen it, Sammy. First, he gets his ass handed to him by Lyra and now he's going to the clink for a long time, which is better than darkening another doorway. In a good way, it's good riddance to bad rubbish in which that asshat won't see the light of day after stealing a lore monster and nearly put everyone here in danger."

"I had a feeling that he wasn't about to go away quietly," I said.

"Hiroyuki gave that order in which the Brackenstall Family's taking a hit after the basilisk incident. He even gave them an eviction notice after what went down."

"And Hiroyuki ended up jumping the gun as always," said Lyra. "As for the rest of the Brackenstalls, did he have to evict them?"

It wasn't long until I ran towards a cleared spot as I saw a seaship where Tobin was being led away in handcuffs. Even though karma got to him in the end, I had a bad feeling that there would be no end to the headache it ensued, for this was just the start of future worries yet to come…
