This story starts on the episode when Charmcaster made a potion to switch bodies, hoping to gain Ben's Omnitrix. She accidentally switched Gwen and Ben's bodies and reversed it at the end of the episode.
After Gwen and Ben switched back, Gwen found Charmcaster's Spellbook in her pocket. She took a quick glance at it before bed, thank god - it's in English.
The next day no one could take her nose out of it. Just the table of contents was ten pages. It included all the subtitles.
Some of the practices needed candle circles, sacrifices or other preparations. But for most of the spells, you only needed to say the enchantment and, well, they happened. Only, every single spell needed elixir. The non-permanent spells took more elixir the longer they lasted.
Gwen was interested in a few easy spells:
Spellbook:
Levitation of things. Requires: Enchantment 1 drop of elixir for 1kg for 1min.
Downsizing non-living objects. Requires: Enchantment 4 drops of Elixir for half the size (Permanent).
Upsizing non-living objects. Requires: Enchantment 5 drops of Elixir for doubling in size (Permanent). can only be done to downsized objects.
Fire blast. Requires: Enchantment 3 drops of elixir for fire blast of 300 degrees for one minute or controlling fire around for one minute. Any fire the spell effected will be extinguished as soon as the spell ends.
Fire beacon. Requires: Enchantment 1 drop of elixir to create a fire similar to a campfire in one spot on the ground or in the air for an hour.
Bringing an animal-shaped statue to life. Requires: Enchantment circle, Enchantment, a sacrifice (animal) 15 drops of elixir (permanent).
Mind-Controlling another. Required: Enchantment Circle, the person (or other mindful creature), Enchantment, 2 for every hour or, 20 permanently. Mind control cannot be done if the mindful creature is resisting the spell.
These last two Spells were really hard to read. Charmcaster chose this page to pan out what kind of mud she uses to make her golems from. It was scribbled in every empty space, between the lines and the edges. Then it hit Gwen that these last two spells were how she made them. She made a mud statue, brought it to life, then Mind-controlled it. But how did she fit them in her pocket? Wait, she downsized them! Obviously.
Gwen didn't realize how much effort it took to make them.
She remembered Charmcaster enchanting it and throwing them. Her purple magic got to them and they grew. No Elixir involved.
When it was Gwen's turn to wash the dishes, she tried using the Levitation spell to control the sponge and the dishes. She said the enchantment and energy swirled at her core, the center of her collarbone. She could feel it flowing down her arms and it came out of her palms in streams of blue steam that made the plates fly. She didn't expect it to feel this good. Her core was freshened. It was like stretching after a long nap, but a hundred times better. More like moving for the first time.
And it did the job. It worked well, The dishes were washing themselves! So she picked up two more sponges and dishes. In a moment she was nearly done.
As she 'washed dishes' she started getting tired, she sat down heavily at the van's table. Sitting, satisfied, listening to the open tap and her sponges - her magic - at work.
