Worms May Cry
Arrival – Chapter 1.1: Darkened Dynasty
The Underworld was a place that could be summarized in two words: Absurd Chaos. It was a realm completely inhospitable to human life. The realm could be temperate at one moment, an oven the next, and an ice age within the span of hours. Time was a concept lost to this realm as one could spend hours having traversed what should've only taken minutes. Space became twisted as pocket realities pressed upon one another in a primordial effort to conquer and dominate the others.
And yet that wasn't the worst this land could offer. The inhabitants of this primal chaos, known as demons, were adapted to survive and kill within this land. Demons came in all shapes and sizes, with claws, teeth, pincers, and tendrils being only a few of the appendages they had. Every day, demons tore each other apart for more power. Only the strongest could thrive in the Underworld, after all, it was a realm that conceptualized the idea of survival of the fittest.
And yet, for a land that no human could survive in, and for creatures that could cut down swathes of humans with ease, a man named Dante, wearing a long, red coat, and with white hair could be seen cutting down demons left and right with a massive sword that was covered in life-like black scales.
"That's 103, Vergil." Dante announced as he cut a lizard-like demon in half. "Hope you aren't slowing down in your age."
Near him, another man in a blue coat that was almost black, with hair the same as his, yet slicked back, was Vergil. In his hand was a katana that elegantly sliced through an insectoid demon before being pulled out and cleanly cutting through another lizard-like demon as it approached.
"And that was 104." Vergil responded before sheathing his blade. "We are the same age, idiot. If anything, I should be asking why you are going slow for being the younger brother?"
Dante looked at Vergil and quickly pulled out a large, black pistol and fired three shots to the side while matching his brother's gaze. The painful cries of a demon were cut quickly with the third round. "Guess we're tied." Dante stated before holstering his gun and resting his blade upon his shoulder.
"So, it seems." As Vergil said this, he looked up to the roots of a massive demonic tree whose form stretched beyond the clouded sky of the Underworld.
"Looks like we finally made it to the Qliphoth. What's the plan to bring this overgrown weed down?" Dante asked as he walked over to stand next to his brother.
As they watched, the roots of the demonic tree continued to writhe and expand. "I was planning to cut it down like any other opponent. You didn't need to help since this is a task that I could complete myself. It was my mistake after all." Vergil stated calmly.
He wasn't prepared for Dante to put his arm across his shoulders. "Yeah, but I thought you could use the help. I didn't want you to pull the whole disappearing act you did last time you came to the Underworld."
A ghost of a smile could almost be seen creeping upon the serious twin's mouth before falling back to the serious appearance of before.
"Then let's end this." Vergil said before separating from Dante. The red-clad man nodded and, in a moment, the twins exploded into red and blue light.
As the light faded, it revealed their true demonic forms that their human appearances hid. Both spread open multiple pairs of wings and took off into the sky like rockets until they neared the base of the massive Qliphoth tree. Vergil unsheathed his katana, the Yamato, the last gift the the pair's father, Sparda, which had the ability to separate human and demon from one another. In turn, Dante readied his own blade, the Devil Sword Dante, a blade that was born through combining the broken remnants of the Rebellion, the sword Sparda gifted to Dante known as the Devil Sword Sparda, and Dante himself.
It split down the middle to reveal a glowing core similar to magma as Dante poured power into it.
Dante and Vergil leveled power into their blades and flashed forwards, slicing between space and time until they reached midway through the tree, where upon a nightmarish, eldritch screaming echoed throughout the Underworld. As the twins glanced at the tree, they saw a void within the almost-toppled tree where a pair of dark entities resided, one seeming to be falling further into the void with a massive glowing gash of white light, while the other cried out in anguish and rage.
"What the hell are those ugly things?" Dante cried out to Vergil.
"Possibly parasites that have been absorbing power from the Qliphoth. We need-" Vergil was cut off as another roar echoed from the massive entity and a great invisible force began to pull everything around the Qliphoth into the void, the twins included.
[Dante]
Dante could admit that getting sucked into the Qliphoth was not on his bingo card for what might happen when they cut the demonic tree down. Even less so when he saw a blur of realities stream pass his eyes until it ended with him careening towards a desert-like area with what looked like a human town nearby.
At the intense speed he was being pulled, Dante quickly realized that he might end up accidentally cratering a town. With great effort, he began trying to flap his wings out to catch as much air current as possible. When that didn't work, he stuck his sword out in front of himself and let off a continuous burst of power from the center that acted like a thruster in addition to also blasting demonic power from the insides of his infernal wings to aid his efforts.
While that did help, it still wasn't enough, and so, the crimson devil dumped all the power that he could through the sword, causing his true demonic form to fade away.
This seemed to do the trick as when Dante finally burst through the portal, he started to skip across the desert floor multiple times, each with enough force to pulp a normal human, until he finally flipped himself in the air and stabbed his sword into the ground, dragging onwards for another twenty meters until he finally stopped.
Behind him was a trail of molten glass that came from the friction and infernal heat of his sword.
Dante then leaned down and sat his back against his sword before sighing in relief. He was about a mile away from the town when he had finally caught himself.
"Holy shit, Vergil! What in the hell was that?" Dante asked before looking around to find himself alone in the desert. "Great, lost Vergil in the Underworld again, and this time I was accompanying him."
Pushing himself to his feet, the Legendary Devil Hunter pulled his namesake sword from the ground and let it disappear with a burst of flames. He turned around to see that the unnatural void he emerged from was already closing, yet the demonic presence around Dante remained the same.
"If I was a betting man, I'd say that something besides me has managed to come through that portal. Especially 'cause we didn't fully cut the Qliphoth down." Dante remarked to himself as he looked around the area for any stragglers.
And yet, nothing had changed. No demons had appeared and the demonic presence wasn't showing any signs of disappearing. He quickly looked over to the town in the distance and squinted at it in thought.
If any demons had managed to follow him back to what appeared to be Earth, then they'd head to any nearby human population center to feed and grow stronger. Human blood, after all, was like a cocktail of steroids to any demon that wanted more power.
It would be in Dante's best interest to investigate and make sure that the town was safe… The first place to investigate was the nearest pizza joint. After all, it had been what felt like months since he'd last had a slice. If he did encounter a demon on the way, then that would just be killing two birds with one stone.
It took less than 15 minutes for Dante to trek through the desert and arrive into the town proper. The sign greeting him said 'Welcome to Elkins' which didn't tell the man much.
As he continued walking through the town, he could still feel that demonic presence which hadn't grown any stronger or weaker. With a sigh, he started looking around, and at the same time he did so, he also noticed some of the townsfolk giving him weary glances.
This wasn't all that unexpected, considering the red coat he wore and that he had unnatural white hair. It was a combination that usually drew gazes. It's just that for once people weren't looking at him like he was unusual, they instead seemed afraid. 'Wonder why that might be?' The thought quickly trailed as Dante spotted at building with the sign 'Crust Crusader' with an image of a hero in white with a slice of pizza for a cape.
"Jackpot." Dante said to himself before reaching into his pocket and fishing out his wallet. Upon opening it, he was delighted to find that he had $40 in cash. At least he wasn't so broke as to be unable to afford a single slice of pizza.
With a pep in his step, Dante put his wallet away and walked to the 'Crust Crusader', opened the door which caused a small bell to ring, and entered. He was quickly greeted to a large man in a blue shirt tossing a disk of dough into the air before catching it.
"Be there in just a minute." The man stated before setting the dough down, wiping his flour-covered hands on his apron, and then turning around the man the cash register. His eyebrow rose slightly at seeing the brightly clothed stranger, but quickly settled back to normal.
"Welcome to the Crust Crusader. How may I help you today?" He asked with a friendly smile.
"Could I get a large pizza with everything on it but olives?" Dante answered immediately.
"Certainly, that'll be $17.50." The pizza man answered while typing into his register. Dante gave him the cash and the pizza man, who after Dante looked at his name tag and saw he was called Fred, gave him his change. "Just take a seat and your order will be done in 20 minutes."
"Sounds good." Dante nodded before sitting down at an open table.
As Fred went back to tossing his pizza, he spoke up and asked, "You from out of town?" Dante was pulled from his thoughts before he finally answered.
"Yeah. Was on a job for the past few months until I ended up here. By the way, not to sound like an idiot, but would you happen to know where I am?"
Fred turned and gave Dante a quizzical look before replying, "Must have been some hell of a job if you don't even know where you are. You're in Elkins, ass-end of nowhere in New Mexico."
The red-clad hunter was slightly surprised to be on the other side of the country from where he'd started in Red Grave City. Then again, traveling through the Underworld was always a gamble. Especially if you didn't have the Yamato to make a specific portal.
"For an ass-end of nowhere, there are certainly quite a bit of buildings around here. What's with all the infrastructure?"
"Used to be that Elkins was up and coming, at least until the cape fight between Plaguebinder and the Protectorate left the downtown a ghost town after all the civilians got infected. After that, the town's been limping along ever since. At least the asshole got put in the Birdcage for what he did."
At that point, Dante was completely lost in the conversation. Cape? Protectorate? What the hell was the Birdcage?
While Dante had more questions to ask the guy, he held them back as he didn't want the guy thinking he was any stranger than he already was. Instead, he asked, "You happen to know where the library of this town is?"
"Yeah, happens to be about ten blocks up the street from here. Take a left for five, then it should be on your right." Fred answered as he began placing multiple toppings on the uncooked pizza before placing it in the oven.
"Well, that's good to kno-" Dante paused as he felt a sudden surge of demonic power. Looking out the pizzeria's window, he spotted multiple small, black, demonic roots erupt from the street, each tipped with a razor-sharp stinger that could go through a human like butter.
Following the small Qliphoth roots, multiple small portals of darkness pooled around until ant-like demons with white hides, bulbous heads tipped with beady red eyes, and four limbs ending with razor-sharp claws crawled out. Each one had a pair of small wings that made it doubtful if they were capable of any great feats of flight. To a normal human, these were demonic monstrosities known as empusa.
To Dante? Small fry.
Getting up from his chair Dante walked past Fred who was gazing with horrified attention at the appearance of these monster. With his hand on the door handle, Dante turned to look at Fred and said, "Make sure to not let my pizza get burned. I'll be back in a few minutes."
Fred quickly looked at Dante as his focus was pulled from the demons' arrival. "What?"
"I said, try to not let my pizza get burned. I'll be done in a sec." With that, Dante exited the pizzeria with a ring, attracting the attention of all the demons present. "You know, I was really hoping that I could get a moment to eat without being interrupted. Guess that one's on me for expecting demons to be courteous."
The empusa swiftly began charging while the roots stabbed down at the suicidal-looking human. Yet, instead of tasting blood like expected, the man put up his hands and went into a stance. A second later, a pulse of demonic power went out all the demonic beings felt like they had smashed into an unyielding wall.
"APOCALYPTIC!" A deep demonic voice cried out from nowhere, making Dante smirk in amusement at his talkative devil arm.
"Aw, what's the matter? Can't touch me?" As Dante said this, he pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and began spinning it around his body like a pair of nunchucks, firing off multiple shots which caused the Qliphoth roots to disintegrate and any empusa at the front of the charge to be shredded by the buckshot while the rest at the rear were launched off their feet by their compatriots' bodies flying into them.
"SAVAGE!"
Before they could go back more then two feet, Dante almost seemed to teleport behind them with a roundhouse kick aimed at the heads of the empusa that ended them with a sickening crack.
"SICK SKILLS!"
Dusting off his hands, the red-clad hunter was left alone in the middle of the multiple corpses that dissolved away into puddles of shadow, fading away back to the Underworld.
The only signs left of any fight was the demon blood on the street, the cracked asphalt from roots, and the buckshot that had shredded through the ground.
And yet, while there was no demon in sight, Dante now had a firm lock on where the greatest concentration of Qliphoth roots were, and it was growing in power. Stepping back into the pizzeria, Dante was greeted to Fred having a phone out recording everything.
"Hey, is the pizza done yet? I'm going to have to make this a to-go order." Dante asked with some mild amusement as Fred quickly put his phone away and handed Dante a pizza box.
"Y-yeah, here you go." With a nod of appreciation, Dante exited the shop with a grin and began walking away. As he did so, he opened the box to reveal a pizza topped with pepperoni and…olives.
"Aw, man…" Dante complained as he pulled out a slice and glanced at the hated topping.
"DISMAL!" Balrog announced, making Dante sigh at how correct the devil arm was.
Taking a swift glance back to the pizzeria, the devil hunter decided to not go back and ask for his order to be fixed. The way that Fred acted made the white-haired man feel that his returned presence would only freak the man out at this point. To be entirely honest, Dante had seen enough regular people who sometimes witnessed him fight and manhandle demons so easily get frightened by his unnatural strength.
With a roll of his eyes and a shrug of his shoulders, Dante quickly began to scarf down a slice of his pizza to sate some of his hunger. Then, a burst of flames at his side materialized into an ominous black motorcycle armored in dark plates. Emerging from the front of the demonic vehicle by the wheel were four barbed prongs that extended a foot and half forwards. They were only matched by the rear of the almost organic vehicle with exhaust tubes that extended multiple feet behind the vehicle in sharp points.
Dante saddled the devil arm known as Cavaliere and revved the throttle with his right hand while carrying the pizza box with his left. This emitted a demonic roar from the devil arm before the vehicle popped up onto its back wheel and took off with a burst of flames from its exhaust. "Oh yeah!" Dante cheered as took off down the street towards the location that he could feel the demonic presence growing.
He didn't slow down and only increased the speed as the demonic presence grew. At the same time, his ears picked up the sounds of shouts and gunfire, telling the legendary devil hunter everything he needed to know.
Taking a left for a block, Dante felt a spike in demonic energy and made a right where he spotted a fight taking place a few blocks ahead. It looked like more razor-tipped Qliphoth roots were sprouting up from the ground in that area. Multiple cars had been flipped over, with a few on fire. Numerous civilians were trying to flee the area, while men in black armored tactical gear were fighting the roots and empusa that spawned in the area with a few cops that hadn't been killed.
Past that, black armored vans blocked the view aside from the blasts of debris and explosions that could be seen above them. Oddly enough, the vans had 'PRT' written on the side in white lettering.
"Is that just another name for a SWAT team?" Dante remarked to himself before marking the multiple demons that were slowly overrunning these federal agents.
With a grin, Dante revved Cavaliere and sped down the street with his pizza box balanced between his knees. Spotting a flipped police car near one of the vans, Dante grinned as he found a ramp. With little effort, Dante made the demonic motorcycle jump up onto the flipped cop car and throttled forwards into the air.
"WOOHOO!" Dante shouted as he quickly pulled his twin handguns, Ebony and Ivory, from his holsters and rapidly fired bullets enhanced with demonic power at the empusa and roots at a rate more akin to a fully automatic weapon than a regular handgun.
Bullets hit their mark as they impacted the heads of the insectoid empusa and burst the blood-filled sacks of the roots. Both the cops and dark-clad PRT guys that Dante still thought were a fancy name for a SWAT team, looked at the red-clad demon hunter soar over their hastily made barricade of vehicles as he slaughtered the creatures that they had been having slight difficulty against with ease.
For the hunter, he found it odd that a few empusa and roots had been trapped in an odd foam substance that seemed hard like concrete. Yet, it only earned a shrug from the man as he put a few bullets into them before passing.
It was up ahead that Dante spotted the main fight between a demon and two of the oddest-clothed people he had ever seen. One was a woman dressed in a black spandex-looking suit while metallic parts colored a bright yellow with red lightning bolts acted as armor over that. A few sections of metal on the suit, at the feet, chest, and arms were bulkier than the rest while a metal helmet covered her head and a black visor covered her face.
Dante figured out the reason for the bulkier sections of the armor as the pulsed up before firing bolts of red lightning at the giant demon. The demon, probably a story or two tall, had a gorilla-like stance with large arms covered in dark spiked plating. The fingers on each of the demon's fists linked up with one another before lighting up with red energy. Then, the demon slammed either fist at the armored woman who jumped back just in time.
The moment both bladed fists made contact with the pavement, an explosion of red energy followed while debris flew away. As for the rest of the demon's body, it consisted of interlocking dark plating that locked up the moment an explosion was made, protecting it from its own blasts. Its red eyes glared at the two humans who continued fighting it.
Finally, the last fighter, a man in gray armor that resembled cement, with only a visor of blue breaking up the monotony, slammed a foot into the ground, causing cement to shoot up from the ground as an arcing shield, deflecting the large debris that impacted against it.
With a loud rev of Cavaliere, the attentions of all three combatants were drawn to Dante as he quickly scarfed a piece of pizza down before slamming the pizza box shut, popping Cavaliere into the air at the demon, and then jumping off the demonic motorcycle with the pizza box in hand as Cavaliere slammed into the demon, knocking it onto its back before dispersing into flame.
Even though Dante couldn't see the expression of either costumed figure, the way they both continued looking at him made the man assume they had dumbfounded expressions on their faces.
Popping the pizza box open, Dante pulled out a slice and began eating it. "Pizza man's here."
"What?" Both costumed figures asked in utter confusion.
"YOU LITTLE BASTARD! YOU WOULD DARE ATTACK GRENADIER LIKE THAT?!" The demon shouted in anger as he pushed itself back onto its feet.
Dante quickly finished the slice of pizza before looking over at the now-named Grenadier. With a smirk, Dante threw the open pizza box at the demon's face and caused the contents to slam into the demon's eyes, eliciting a roar of rage.
"Hey, I'm just here to deliver your order." Dante replied.
"INSOLENT PEST! DIE!" Grenadier shouted as he wiped some of the pizza away from his eyes before slamming his bladed fist down at Dante. With speed faster than any of the costumed humans could comprehend, Dante moved out of the way of the fist until he stood two yards from the impact.
"Hey, I got that pizza to you within 30 minutes. Shouldn't I be getting a tip?" Dante taunted.
"Are you fucking insane?! Get out of there!" The woman shouted from behind Dante as she charged up another electric blast.
"WANT A TIP? THEN STAND STILL, WHELP!" Grenadier replied as his other fist slammed down on Dante's position. This time, it was lit red with demonic energy. Yet, once more, Dante disappeared in a burst of speed as an explosion wracked the ground. Grenadier looked around, confused as to where his prey had disappeared.
Suddenly, a loud knock came from his plating by his head, much louder than any human should've been able to make. "Wow, terrible manners. Keep acting like this and we'll have to stop delivering to you." Grenadier growled in rage as he tried to swipe the re-clad hunter from his shoulder.
As this happened, both costumed humans looked at the display in outright confusion. How was this man barely phased at the multiple attempts by the creature to kill him? Was he insane?
"GET OFF, HUMAN PEST!" Grenadier shouted.
"Rude." Dante said on the demon's other shoulder as a pair of demonic gauntlets and greaves covered his hands, shoulders, and feet. This was the devil arm known as Balrog, the chattiest of all his weapons. Following this, Dante began rapidly punching the demon's head, receiving echoing blows from the plated armor.
Grenadier tried slamming his arm onto his other shoulder to dislodge Dante, but the red-clad hunter disappeared in a burst of speed and appeared on his other shoulder, continuing the hits. With each consecutive one, Balrog began glowing brighter with infernal flame.
"APOCALYPTIC!"
Another swing by Grenadier, yet it was deflected as Dante performed an uppercut with trails of flame following his wake. This knocked Grenadier's bladed arm back and Dante began mixing flaming kicks with his punches.
"SAVAGE!"
In a burst of flame, Dante performed another uppercut against the side of Grenadier's head until he appeared above the armored demon. With another burst of flame, Balrog disappeared and was replaced by Cavaliere which Dante began slamming into Grenadier without abandon.
"SICK SKILLS!"
As the two costumed humans looked on, both shocked and slightly impressed that Dante was fighting this monster with an entire motorcycle, they found their jaws dropping when the demonic weapon split into two enormous buzzsaws that Dante slammed down, pulling Grenadier to the ground by his head with a loud slam.
"SMOKIN' SEXY STYLE!"
This also confused the pair. Every once in a while, some demonic voice would keep saying random words that they couldn't figure out.
While the pair pondered what was even going on, Dante used Cavaliere's split form to slowly chip at Grenadier's head. The constant heat being generated by both Balrog's flames and the friction of Cavaliere's saws was making Grenadier's armored plating begin turning molten red.
Another burst of flame and Cavalier disappeared from Dante's hands and was replaced with nunchaku that had 3 spiked ends and was held together by chain towards a dark ring in the center. This devil arm was known as Cerberus. With practiced ease, Dante began spinning the weapon around himself as it became coated in frost.
Repeatedly, the nunchaku's frosted ends slammed against the superheated plating until a loud cracking was heard and the plating on Grenadier's head broke apart from the supercooling of the attacks. This revealed crimson flesh underneath that pulsed with blood.
Grenadier finally pushed himself to his feet with a roar. "INSOLENT WORM! YOU DARE TO BREAK MY ARMOR?! I'LL RIP YOU APART!" The demon quickly slashed both bladed arms at Dante, both above and below him.
"Aw, sad that you got a bald spot, big guy?" Dante taunted as he jumped into the air spinning horizontally and barely avoiding both bladed arms. "You know, they say that they've got treatments to fix that. That, or you could try wearing a wig; don't know if they have any in your size though?"
"WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP!" Grenadier raised both hands above himself as the fingers of both his hands interlocked with one another in a giant blade. Then, the blade lit up a bright red and he slammed it down on Dante.
Smirking, Dante stood there in a stance just as the bladed fists were about to impact him. Yet, a ripple of demonic energy covered his body, and instead of the explosive slamming that Grenadier expected, it was instead repulsed before the red-clad hunter disappeared in another burst of speed, suddenly appearing in the air, level with the broken plating.
A moment later, Dante punched his fist forwards and all the energy that had been gathered from Grenadier's last attack was directed right into the exposed pulsing flesh on his head. As the attack ripped through the demon, Grenadier's eyes widened as he knew this demonic power. This hated energy that every demon in the Underworld knew.
"SPAR-" Grenadier quickly slammed into the ground and gasped out, "-DA…"
Moments later, Dante landed next to the defeated demon as he dispersed into crimson energy before coalescing into the form of a massive axe of dark metal with a shaft as tall as Dante and a bladed end that glowed with a crimson light that appeared in Dante's hand.
With a massive grin, Dante began testing the weapon out, spinning it about himself, gaining a measure of its weight and strength, before slamming it onto the ground, causing an explosion to burst out from the end, cratering the already broken street even further. As he looked ahead, Dante finally spotted the root of the problem. Namely, the large blood-filled sack that all of the roots were spawning from.
What confused the red-clad hunter further was how the tree wasn't even visible if a root of this size had already formed. Thoughts for later.
With a few spins to gather energy, Dante leapt forwards with Grenadier and slammed it into the blood-filled sack, blowing it up in a burst of red energy as all the roots around the sack turned gray and brittle before dispersing away. This wasn't only contained to the roots near the Qliphoth sack as all the roots in the area followed suit, leaving no further sign of a demonic presence.
Yet, at the same time, Dante was able to continue tracking the dark energy of the Qliphoth going off in the distance towards the north-east. He'd need to handle that because God knows that there didn't need to be a second Redgrave incident happening anytime soon.
Damn, he needed to get out of here fast to follow this Qliphoth trail. Whatever section of the tree that remained after he and Vergil were chopping through it must be trying to slowly spread and repair itself. But if that were the case, why did he not feel the immense power that the Qliphoth had been putting out? This needed more investigation, and Dante really hated having to do investigative work.
"What the hell was that?" The armored woman's voice asked from behind him, making Dante turn around to look at the pair who were cautiously walking over to him. Their actions seemed ready for any type of hostile action he might perform, while at the corner of his eye, Dante spotted more of those PRT guys creeping about, waiting for some unknown signal.
"Oh, you know, another dime-a-dozen demons that needed their asses kicked." Dante answered. "Thankfully, crisis averted since it wasn't that bad of an infestation."
"What are you talking about? Demons? Those don't exist." The gray man retorted while looking at his colleague and giving the universal hand sign for 'crazy' to her.
Great, comedians who didn't understand reality when it literally tried to blow them up. It did confuse Dante as to how people didn't believe anything about demons even though the Redgrave incident was broadcast for the entire world to see. Giant demonic trees are kind of hard to miss.
"Whatever." Dante brushed off. "I've got work to do, so if you'll excuse me."
Before Dante could walk away, the woman interrupted, "Sir, I think it would be best if you remained to answer some questions." Dante gave a grin in response. He could tell that this wasn't a request, especially with the way those feds in the dark armor were all getting closer to him.
"Well, I'm honored that you want to ask me for my expertise, but…" As he said this, Dante disappeared into a burst of speed down the road while summoning Cavalier. Looking back towards the two costumed people and the feds, Dante gave a wave back, "I'm pretty busy, so we'll have to push this off to a later date!"
Without further ado, Dante revved Cavaliere and took off down the street.
The man and woman both turned to look at each other. "Road Hazard, shouldn't you have tried to stop him from driving off?" The woman asked the gray man.
"Red, the guy was able to manhandle the creature that was kicking our asses. You want to try and take on a guy way above our weight-class, then all the power to you. Me? I'd rather call this in and have someone else deal with the issue." Road Hazard retorted back.
