S-Rank out of You

Walking through the dense woods with Levy by my side was a relief, though the tension lingered as we remained vigilant for any potential threats lurking in the shadows. In these woods, danger could spring forth in any form, from bandits to magical creatures that most folks would simply label as monsters. And let's be real, only a handful of those beasts were actually magical.

"You know, I still think your magic is the most absurdly overpowered thing I've ever heard of," I remarked, sounding like a broken record for the third time. And it really was. Levy's magic bordered on reality-warping, where the words she scribbled down would materialize into tangible objects, each inheriting the traits and abilities of the written word. Write "FIRE," and boom, you've got yourself a blazing inferno letter FIRE with all the fiery fury you could imagine.
"It's not that great, really. I can't exactly use it well for battle like Natsu and Gray can with their magic," Levy responded, her tone dry as parchment, almost as if she'd resigned herself to her current level of proficiency. Its like she already give up on improving and that was unacceptable.

Maybe the real issue lay in her mindset. Judging by her remarks, it seemed likely that when she first discovered her magic, she faced ridicule and dismissal from those around her, belittling her powers as weak, ineffective, or simply nerdy. And like any kid, she internalized those criticisms, letting them shape her perception of her own abilities.

"Alright, remind me again how your magic works?" I inquired, genuinely curious despite having heard the explanation before.
"I write something down, and the word itself comes to life, but only if I understand its meaning and how it'll manifest," Levy explained, gesturing with her hands as she scribbled "FIRE" into the air.
And just like that, the word transformed into a roaring blaze, crackling and dancing with fiery energy.
"What about something like 'sun'?" I pressed further.

"Just a small orb of light with the word 'SUN' attached to it, warm and a tad hotter in the summer," Levy replied nonchalantly, as if she'd been expecting the question.

So why hadn't she conjured up a sun and inadvertently scorched the entire world? Not that I was complaining, but it did raise some questions.
Ah, right. Levy or we hailed from a time when knowledge about space and celestial bodies was about as scarce as a dragon's wisdom tooth. To most folks in Earthland, the sun was simply a warm, glowing sphere that provided light and heat. The true intricacies of the sun were known to only a select few, tucked away in dusty tomes or whispered in the hallowed halls of academia.

"Alright, how about this then? Write the word 'HASTE.' I'm sure you know what that means," I proposed, eager to test out my latest idea.
"I do know what haste means, but I'm not sure how I can make something faster. Besides, I've never really used my magic for support, aside from lighting up the dark or starting fires," Levy admitted, a hint of embarrassment coloring her words.

"You might not know how to make something faster, but you know someone who does. Just think about Jet's magic while you write that word," I suggested, referring to the blue-haired speedster we both knew.

"But I can't use Jet's magic. I've told you before, it won't work," Levy sighed, seeming resigned to her perceived limitations.
I came to a halt, turning to face Levy as she did the same. Stepping closer, I rested my hands lightly on her shoulders.
"And who decided that?" I asked, my voice carrying a hint of intensity.

"Huh?" Levy responded, her confusion evident as her cheeks flushed slightly from our proximity.

"Who decided all these limitations on your magic? Who decided it can only be used in one specific way? Who decided that your Solidscript magic couldn't be more than what you're doing now?" I questioned earnestly.

Levy didn't reply immediately, her gaze dropping to the ground. "I understand what you're trying to say, but trust me, I've tried everything. I know my magic can't be stronger than it is already. I've reached my limit!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with frustration as tears began to glisten in her eyes.

"Don't limit yourself like that." I seized her trembling fist, holding her in place. "You're letting other people's words box in your potential. We may be mages, but we're still human. Humans aren't born with predetermined strengths or weaknesses. We're all born in God's perfect image, with boundless potential to break free from whatever chains hold us down," I urged, a smile playing on my lips as I met her gaze head-on.
Levy's eyes widened in surprise as I refused to back down, locking my gaze with hers. "Now, write that word. Use your magic. Show the new kid what being a Fairy Tail wizard is all about!" I encouraged her, pumping her up further.

'Yeah, even if this doesn't work, I can't give up without trying,' Levy thought to herself, feeling a surge of anger within her. What kind of Fairy Tail wizard would she be if she gave up so easily? And did she really need her junior to remind her of that? No more.

"Yes, I won't let your expectations down. I'll show you what a mage from Fairy Tail can do," Levy declared loudly, determination blazing in her eyes. With a swift motion, she wrote the word "HASTE" in the air, the letters solidifying into existence before her.

The word shimmered with a vibrant red hue, crackling with blue lightning as Levy reached out and crushed it in her palms. A blinding light erupted from her hands, forcing me to shield my eyes.

When I blinked my eyes open, I found Levy gazing at herself in wonder, patting her limbs as if checking for any changes. But there was one glaring issue – she was moving too fast.

"Lu&$# &!" Her lips moved so rapidly that I only caught the first syllable of my name before the rest became unintelligible gibberish.
Suddenly, she didn't vanish but transformed into a mirage, a blur of blue darting around me in circles. It was as if she'd become the Flash, or maybe A-Train, her figure blurring into streaks of blue due to her hair and clothes. Had she truly attained the speed of Jet, the original speedster mage she'd emulated? But wasn't that guy kinda weak and not this fast?

No I can't make that judgement without seeing him in action.
Even amidst her dizzying speed, I could still make out Levy's form, though it was like trying to track one blade of a spinning ceiling fan at full speed. Opening my Grand Wheel, I didn't use it to change weapons but merely to observe Levy in slow motion, a power that allowed me to perceive her movements more clearly.

Suddenly, Levy came to a halt, gradually slowing back to normal speed before throwing her arms around me in a tight bear hug. Despite her stopped motion, the wind and dirt continued to swirl around her, a remnant of her rapid sprint.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," she mumbled rapidly, squeezing the life out of me as she laughed and cried simultaneously. But what struck me most was the sheer happiness radiating from her face, brighter than I'd ever seen in both of my lives combined.

Install: Phantasm Summon. This allows you to gain the abilities of a servant and their noble phantasms.

Parameters of skills and noble phantasms are more a ranking of how they are compared to fellow servants.

Cards can be installed for as long as your magical energy can sustain them, after being uninstalled they will require an hour before being able to be used again

Parameters:
Strength: E
Mana: A
Endurance: E
Luck: C
Agility: D

Class Skills
Item Construction: B - Item Construction is a Caster-class skill. It is the skill to manufacture magical items.

Territory Creation: B - Territory Creation is a Caster-class skill. It is the skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus. At rank B creation of a "Workshop" becomes possible.

Personal Skills
High-Speed Divine Words: B - High-Speed Divine Words is the power to activate Thaumaturgy without the use of Magic Circuits. The language of the Age of Gods, back when words played a heavy role in spellcasting. As such, it is power long lost by modern magi.

Noble Phantasm:

Rule Breaker: C - Rule Breaker: All Spells Must Be Broken is a weapon that materializes the divinity of the witch of betrayal. It is an iridescent and jagged dagger that is thin, brittle, and blunt. Its effectively nonexistent capacity as a weapon is that of a regular dagger at most, and it would not be suitable for even killing a single person. Greatly differing from other Noble Phantasms, its unique ability is that it is the ultimate anti-magic Noble Phantasm capable of dispelling and destroying any kind of thaumaturgy, an effect suitable to the Noble Phantasm that is a manifestation of Caster's nature as the "Witch of Betrayal". It "transgresses" on all the magecraft of the targets it pierces, contracts made from magical energy and life born from magical energy. Once it comes into contact with the ensorcelled item or person, enchantments, connections bounded through contracts, and creatures created and maintained by magical energy will all be returned to their original components in a state "before they were made." Contracts will be wiped clean and those with life will immediately cease to exist. There is a limit to what it is able to dispel, meaning artifacts on the rank of Noble Phantasm will never be returned to their original state no matter how low their rank.

Total: 400

NO! NO! NO! Nooooooooooooooo. I screamed out in utter agony in my mind as my best roll slipped through my finger because I was low on point, again! Damn you Grimoire, damn you for making me hope and destroying with a sledgehammer you call insufficient CP.
"Are you okay Lucas?" Levy asked, finally breaking the hug. "Why are you crying?"

"I, I- ahem, I'm just so proud of you." I finally let my words out, a lie but a lie that worked. Now I really couldn't tell her that I just missed my roll in my Grimoire that nearly made me a magical girl, can I?

In the depths of Magnolia's forest, Levy and I streaked through the trees with superhuman speed, our bodies and minds accelerating beyond the norm. It was as if time itself had slowed to a crawl around us, granting us a brief burst of enhanced abilities. Unfortunately, this boost only lasted for five minutes and couldn't be stacked. It was reminiscent of support spells in video games, a temporary surge of power to aid us in our quests.

"You know, I never pegged you for a believer," Levy remarked, breaking the silence and recalling my earlier words.

"I do believe in God, just not in religions. While I believe that God may have created us, I'm skeptical of the religions that humans have constructed. Too often, those in positions of power manipulate religious doctrines to enforce their own rules and agendas, claiming it to be the will of God," I replied, my conviction clear. I held faith in a higher power, but I didn't trust human nature not to exploit that belief. That's why I approached religion with caution in both of my lives.

"How did you manage to cast that spell so flawlessly all of a sudden?" I inquired, changing subject as we effortlessly scaling a tree with our newfound speed, defying gravity as we ran along its surface.

"What? Didn't you just give me that inspiring speech about breaking my limits?" Levy called out from a nearby tree, plucking magical fruits that were fiercely guarded by the forest's avian inhabitants.

It was a shame for the birds that they couldn't halt us as we rushed past them in twin blurs, thanks to Levy's HASTE spell.
"No, no, I understand the concept of breaking limits, and I believe it's possible. What I want to know is how you did it. What was the process, especially since you don't possess Jet's magic?" I clarified, gathering flowers from different trees.

These flowers and fruits we were collecting were the ingredients requested for side quests by clients back in Magnolia city.

"Oh, I never realized until now that the concept of magic also applies to Solid Script. For instance, when I write 'Fire,' I have to understand how fire works, its effects on the world around it, and the same principle applies to all the words I use. But if I were to write something like 'Fire Dragon's Roar,' it just becomes Blank Script, and not worked like Natsu's attack," Levy explained, continuing to gather fruits before gracefully leaping down to the ground.
"Blank Script?" I queried, perplexed by the term.

"Yeah, Blank Script. My magic allows me to write any words I can think of, but if I don't grasp the meaning and concept of that word when it solidifies, it'll just hang in the air, having no effect on the world. That's usually what happens when I try to copy someone else's magic," she elaborated.

"But it worked today, didn't it?" I pressed, joining her on the ground.

"Yeah, because I understand Jet's magic so well – its concept, how he uses it. Before forming the Shadow Gear team, I'd already given up on improving my magic. I shouldn't have done that," Levy sighed, her expression turning into one of excitement. "Especially after joining Fairy Tail guild, where I'm surrounded by mages all the time."

"I'm so glad I came here with you. Now, let's finish up this quest and head home!" She exclaimed, pumping her fist in excitement.

"Alright, keep it pinned down," I instructed the blue-haired mage, taking charge as I formulated our strategy to take down the monstrous beast.
Tracking the creature had been surprisingly simple, thanks to its habit of roaring at the sky for no apparent reason every few moments. Despite its terrifying appearance – bear-like but with shark-like teeth, glowing red eyes, and a menacing purple aura – at the end of the day, it was just a bear.

For ordinary humans, this creature would be a horrifying opponent, with its sheer size, strength, speed, and resilience against conventional weapons like swords and crossbows. But for us wizards?

"Flames," I commanded, recalling a specific hand sign from my memories of playing Skyrim, and watched as flames erupted from my palm without singeing me. It was a success. With a load of highborn elf blood in my veins, learning magic wasn't too difficult, especially when I already possessed a basic understanding of its concepts. Plus, I had magical energy to spare.

Above the bear's head, the word "CHAIN" hung in a shimmering silver glow, from which numerous silver chains emerged. Other words like "PARALYSIS," "DAZED," "SLEEPYHEAD," and "CONFUSION" connected to the chain, effectively subduing the monstrous creature.

"How did it even grow this big?" I pondered aloud, launching a small burst of fire that collided with the chained beast, causing it to roar in irritation rather than pain.

"Magical mutations happen more frequently here than anywhere else. Thank goodness there aren't any dangerous animals in this forest," Levy remarked, continuing to write more words without aiming to harm the bear. After all, she was the one holding the beast down, allowing me to test out my new magical attacks and practice safely.

Indeed, magical mutations were a rare but significant phenomenon in this world. Some non-magical animals would gain magical powers after successfully hunting down other magical beasts or wizards. However, this newfound magic came at a cost – it would corrupt the creature, causing severe madness alongside its newfound powers.

This madness could manifest in various ways, including hyper bloodlust, cannibalism, and unnatural mating patterns aimed at spreading their disease and corruption. It was truly nasty stuff.

And yeah, those breeding patterns are confirming me too much that this world has Hentai physics, at least on level of DXD, because nothing else explain why humans females are often captured alive.
"Oh, you can use multiple elemental attacks?" Levy inquired as ice and small sparks of thunder emanated from my hand before colliding with the chained beast.

"Like you're one to talk," I retorted sarcastically, though I continued my practice. Finally, after numerous attempts, my fire attack transformed into a proper fireball. Levy had no right to criticize, considering she could practically analyze and replicate any attack once she understood its concept. While she already commanded basic elemental spells, once she mastered more advanced elements like plasma or thunder, she'd be unstoppable against her enemies. It will be one sided beatdown!

'I love making people overpowered.' I realized with same feeling I felt when I thought I found answer to life few days ago.
With renewed vigor, I cast more spells, fueled by my seemingly endless magic regeneration thanks to my high elf blood. It almost felt like cheating.
"But it's still too weak. You need more practice," Levy remarked after observing my efforts.

"I don't want to prolong this creature's suffering, even if it's a monster. Let's not waste any more time. Practice and put it out of its misery," she said solemnly, maintaining the chains and her other magic to restrain the beast while I continued to hone my skills with a content heart.

Rolling…..
You rolled….Fancy Clothes [Justice League Dark]
You have an entire wardrobe of impractically flashy or revealing clothes. From extremely tight dresses to over-the-top stage magician uniforms, they're sure to catch peoples' eyes. They're also enchanted to be self-cleaning and self-repairing, of course.
Cost: 100CP
Purchase the roll?

Fuck it, why not, I thought. While there was a risk of missing out on a better roll, this could solve many of my problems. Lucy was always nagging me about fashionable clothes, and I still had the trauma of shopping for clothes with her to this day.
I just hoped this wardrobe had options for both females and males.

"I can't believe I learned five scripts today, five!" Levy exclaimed, strutting proudly in front of me with a massive grin on her face.
"And I learned three spells. Plus, we've finished all these tutorial quests. We're on fire!" I matched her grin as we walked toward Magnolia with high spirits.
"You know, you should totally join Shadow Gear. You're like a good luck charm, you know? I'd been stuck with my magic for years, and then boom! One day you ask me for help, and instead, you help me learn five new scripts. It's incredibly hard to create just one new script that works perfectly as intended," Levy rambled on excitedly, and I listened with a smile on my face.

"Sadly, I'm teaming up with sis, but that doesn't mean we can't work together from time to time," I suggested with a smile.
"I guess I got a little greedy because I improved so much in such a short time, but you really are an amazing person to have as a friend," Levy admitted with a smile.

"Aww, only a friend?" I teased, feigning hurt in my tone. "Already being friend-zoned by a cute girl."
She laughed it off, a pink blush dusting her cheeks. "Just don't let Jet and Droy hear you," she giggled before planting a small kiss on my cheek and rushing off as soon as we reached the main gate of the city.
Overall, today was a great day.

Okay, now seeds has been planted. Muwahahahaha. Lucas will make S rank out of you!
