The night was young at the play place and the silhouette of a middle aged woman could be seen breaking into the foundation. Not knowing about the rumors surrounding the facility.

All was calm inside if not a bit dusty, the woman roamed for a moment, looking for something. Though unable to shake off the feeling that she was being watched.

There came a light tap on her shoulder, by the time she turned around, she found herself facing the tall, blue, hulking, figure of Blue, who gave a beastly snarl, scaring her before she ran for her life.

Blue pursued her until she made her way to White's wing, climbing into the ivory tower attraction to evade the monster's grasp. Blue looked up disappointedly at the tower, unable to climb in, before walking away.

The woman watched him leave, heaving a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, White, who was just about to fall asleep, awoken to see her newest visitor. Looks like it's gonna be one of those nights again, she thought.

"Hi!" White said, sitting up. The woman turned and let out a yelp at the sight of her and in turn the rainbow friend also yelled in shock.

"What the hell!" Said the woman exasperated, "bad enough that I'm on the run, now I have freaks to deal with!"

White analyzed the lady, she was slightly overweight, had breakouts on her face, her frizzy hair was graying, and she wore dirty and ragged clothes. But somehow White recognized her almost right away.

"What… m-mom?!" She cried.

The lady gave a confused look, "what'd you just call me?" She asked.

"You… you're my mom!" White pointed at her, almost accusingly, her tone turning angry. "Selene Lumiere!"

"You…know me?"

"I'm your daughter! Or well I was your daughter. But that's beside the point, what are you doing here?"

Selene glared at her for a moment and White glared back, then Selene's expression softened. "Yes… I remember. But what happened to you?"

"It's a long story, but tell me why you're here. Otherwise I can just push you out of here and leave you to get eaten by my friends!"

Selene seemed to hesitate for a moment before turning back to her, "I-I was looking for you, sweetie." White was taken aback by this and even more so when the woman hugged her. "I've missed you so much! I regret everything I've done."

White said nothing, her anger still fresh but now mixed with uncertainty and slight hope. Selene released her before continuing.

"I've been a terrible mother, I realize that. That's why I'm willing to make amends."

White's eyes widened, did she really mean it? Was she really here to repent for her actions?

"But in order to do that, I need a favor." She then looked White straight in the eye, "Right now I'm in a bit of a rough bind. Do you know the owner of this place?"

White was perplexed, "…yes?" She answered.

"And do you know where he keeps his money?" Selene continued. White felt dubious but answered.

"I-I believe he has a safe in his office, so I guess-" White was cut off.

"Great!" Spoke Selene, "now listen real close honey, I need you to find the safe, figure out the combination, take whatever you can from it, then come back here. Once we have the money, I promise we can leave here and live a happy life together."

White gazed at her unsure. She weighed her options, true Red was a greedy psychopath that turned her and various others into colorful monstrosities and ruined their lives, but on the other hand Selene abandoned White's grandmother before giving birth to her only to mistreat her up to the point where she got arrested.

"Do you understand?" Uttered Selene, breaking White out of her thoughts.

"Y-yeah… but…" White couldn't think of what to say.

"But what?" Interrupted Selene, "you can't possibly wanna spend the rest of your life here in this dirt hole. Besides we're family! Don't you wanna be with your real family?"

White blinked but didn't argue. "I'll… I'll do it." She said, though still uncertain.

Sliding from her tower, White navigated the play place, her mind jumbled with what her mother requested of her. True Red had caused her and the other rainbow friends trouble and she didn't want to spend the rest of her life trapped in this form and living in this institute of nightmares, but to steal?

White arrived at Red's office, crouching on her hands and knees to locate a small safe under his desk. Thinking hard, she tried various combinations; the combo turned out to be the date of the play place's opening. With a click the safe opened, revealing several stacks of cash and an old photograph. curiously, she picked up the picture to see it was of a man and woman, her eyes widening in shock.

"White?" A voice spoke behind her, making her jump. Red stood over her with a suspicious glare.

"Red!" She uttered, hiding the photo behind her back. "Um… I… uh…"

"What're you doing in my safe?"

"It… it's not what it looks like!"

"Oh really? Because it looks to me like you're trying to steal out of it. Care to explain yourself?"

"What's going on here?" Blue suddenly appeared after overhearing the commotion. "White? What're you doing out of your tower?"

"This thieving little Jezebel is trying to make off with my profits!" Accused Red.

"No! It's…!" White was caught in an impasse and gave a defeated sigh. "Look guys just hear me out."

She explained how her mother was here looking for White and had told her to break into Red's safe, promising to leave the Rainbow Friends Play Place together as a family.

Red's expression changed to disappointment before giving a sigh. "I should've figured something like this would happen."

"What do you mean Red?" Asked Blue.

"Yeah you know something?" Uttered White, standing to her feet before Red looked her in the eye.

"White," He began, "I think she's lying to you."

Red then went on to explain:

flashback*

"You see, your mother was let out of jail after serving time for child neglect, but from there she had no where else to go. At one point she called your grandmother, begging her for a place to stay or at least to lend her some money. But your grandmother refused to lend her a single penny and warned her that she already filed a restraining order against Selene. If she were to come anywhere near you or her house, she'd make sure to send her back to jail first good."

Lorraine slammed the phone back on the receiver, her grudge on her own daughter still fresh.

"Who was that grandma?" Asked young Bianca, who was helping with the dishes in the kitchen.

"Oh no one important dear." Answered Lorraine as calmly as she could to her granddaughter.

"Selene was desperate, she tried to apply for various jobs but hardly any of them wanted an employee with a criminal record. She did manage to apply for a part time waitress job only to be fired after a two weeks for poor work ethic. To make matters worse she took out loans from shady people to survive, so now she has debts to pay off. She tried to steal once only to nearly get caught by the police again. Unable to hold down a job, most of the little sum she had she wasted on scratch offs at convenient stores and now with loan sharks on her tail. In the end she decided her best course of action would be to simply run away from her problems."

*end of flashback*

"Which is how I assumed she ended up here." Red finished. White and Blue stared in disbelief. "She hasn't changed once White. She never thought of you once since getting out of jail. Now it seems that she's trying to rope you into her problems by getting you to steal for her"

White's shoulders slumped, her head facing the floor. Blue patted her shoulder understandably.

"But how do you know all this?" She asked quizzically looking back up at Red.

"Let's just say I have a plan." He announced.

Selene sat in White's ivory tower, steadily growing impatient with how long it was taking for that thing that claimed to be her illegitimate daughter to bring her the money. She looked around the play place, remembering how that annoying brat used to bug her about wanting to come here.

Finally the form of White climbed in with a suitcase, supposedly full of money.

"I'm back." Announced White, "I managed to grab at least 40 grand from the safe before Red found out."

"Great! Hand it to me!"

But White didn't hand her the case. "First of all mom, I have to ask you this." She said.

"Well make it quick! I-we have to go!"

White looked her in the eye with a stern expression before asking.

"What is my name?"

Selene gave a look, racking her brain. "Uh…it's…uh…ugh! Why're you even bringing up such a stupid question?"

"Just answer!" White glared at her demandingly.

"…um…uh…Rebecca?"

"That's your middle name."

"…Brian?"

"That's a boy's name."

"…eh…"

"You haven't changed at all have you? You never even cared to think of a name for me when I was born. Of all people, it was grandma who had me legally named Bianca when she took me in." She then leaned in accusingly. "You lied to me. Red figured everything out and told me about how you're in debt and running from loan sharks and now you're guilting me into stealing for you?"

"…well." Selene sweated bullets, unable to think of an excuse.

"You never cared about me." Continued White, "you only ever cared about yourself and blamed me for all of your issues. You say it was my fault that you couldn't get into a modeling career, that dad left because of me, and now you come back into my life just to hurt me again?"

Selene finally got annoyed and decided to stop acting, "Oh shut up!" She cried, "it was all because you were born that I couldn't get what I wanted. I even got arrested because of you! I should've gotten rid of you when you were still a baby!"

"I wish you had! You were a terrible mother, you never acknowledged me when I was still a toddler and when you couldn't get sugar daddies anymore we had to move into an old, run down, shack where you forced me to beg for money because you wouldn't get a job."

"It's a given that a child takes care of her parent when she can't work!"

"It wasn't that you can't work you just won't! You would even force me to sleep in an old doghouse outside when you weren't satisfied with the amount I brought back. I ran away because I couldn't handle your abuse."

"I gave birth to you! You still owe me for that at least! So do me, your mom, a favor and give me the money!"

"I never even asked to be born and I'm not giving you anything. You made my childhood a living nightmare simply because you want something to blame other than yourself for your own mistakes!"

"I didn't come all this way to be lectured by some mascot freak!" Selene suddenly slapped White across the face before snatching the briefcase of money and sliding down the slide to escape but before she could get far she was suddenly met with an unbelievable sight.

"Oh hello there," it was Red with three other men behind him, "You must be Selene, these fine gentlemen have been asking about you."

The three fierce men that Red was with, one of which held a bat in a threatening manner, glared angrily at Selene. She panicked, turning to run again only to be face to face with Blue and White who caught up with her until she was cornered like an animal.

"Where's the money Selene?" Demanded one of the men, a big, muscular, rugged brute with tattoos on one arm and dressed in typical gangster attire consisting of a white wife beater, torn jeans, and a gold chain. "It's been three months already and yer late on yer pay."

Selene gazed fretfully at him, "N-now Colt, I know things haven't been very smooth sailing. B-but look!" She showed him the suitcase. "40 grand! This should be enough to pay it off right?"

The rough looking man, Colt, took the suitcase before opening it. His face turned to a look of annoyance.

"You must think I was born yesterday." He said to her before throwing the case to the floor, spilling the contents consisting of colorful pieces of fake money from a monopoly board game.

Selene then turned to White, "You tricked me?!" She shrieked. "After all I did for you!"

Blue got in between Selene and White, protecting his fellow rainbow friend when the woman came charging at her. They both glared at her, knowing that she never did anything for her daughter.

The two thugs that were with Colt grabbed Selene by the arms, making her face their boss.

"Hope you like fishin'," he said to her with a dangerous glare, "'Cause you'll be spendin' the rest o' yer life on a tuna boat by the time we're outta here. Let's go boys."

The men made to drag Selene away, kicking and screaming as the three rainbow friends watched on. In a last ditch effort, the middle aged woman looked desperately at White.

"Honey...Bianca, please!" She cried out, actually remembering White's real name. "We're family! You can't let them take your mother away!"

White only gazed at her indifferently before saying, "I don't have a mother."

As soon as Selene and the thugs were finally gone, Red and Blue turned to White sympathetically.

"Sorry you had to go through all of that White." Apologized Blue.

"Yes," agreed Red, "Hopefully we'll never have to see her again."

White nodded to both of them, not saying anything. While their backs were turned, she secretly took out the photo she took from the safe. It was an old black and white photo of a man with dark hair and a woman with light hair lovingly holding hands.

The strangest thing about it though was that the young woman in the picture bore a striking resemblance to her grandmother.
