Salutations, everyone!
It's has been over a year since I have posted, having discover RWBY fanfics.
Changes in my work and personal life further made it hard to write stories.
This will my first RWBY fic.
I actually have other ideas for this fandom along with stories I am currently working on, but I should start writing to get the momentum going.
Also fitting that I post on Weiss Schnee's birthday.
So let's begin, should we?
I do not own RWBY.

There are many wonders, both beautiful and terrifying, hidden in this world.
This is the story of the unseen through the eyes of its residents and those who are affected by their actions.
In a small city in Vale, the street lights were illuminating the dark skies. Tonight, however, there was a small red light floating in the air.
Haaaa, I guess I should stop for today. It's not like I am going find anything in the middle of night, a child-like voice said.
The red light was coming a small human-like fairy named Ruby. The fairy had silver eyes and black hair with red tips. She was wearing a red robe with a hood that matches and carrying a small white bag on her back, a must-have for what she needs to do in the human world. Her wings were nearly transparent, only visible by its red outline and floral patterns.
Ruby has just gotten used to living in the human world, but it was still a big adjustment.
As she flies past some tall buildings, a small white light catches Ruby's attention as she stops near one particular building.
Through the window, Ruby could see a human sleeping on a wooden desk that was littered with papers and books. Ruby could tell that it was a young woman, her head resting on her arms.
She was wearing a light-blue nightgown, her long, white hair freely flowing and seemingly shining from the moonlight.
Pretty, Ruby thought.
There was an iron-clad rule among fairies that they mustn't be seen or discovered by humans. Although most humans are not able to see fairies these days, instances of getting caught has happened in the past and it didn't end well, for both human and fairy. It didn't stop Ruby from moving a little closer to the window.
The hair was not the only thing that caught Ruby's eye. The atmosphere in the room was very heavy from the presence of a malicious black mist.
Grim, Ruby said with a grimace.
The Grim were soulless beings born by negative emotions and can take on different forms. Humans cannot see them, but fairies can. As such, there was an ongoing battle between the two that persisted for centuries.
Luckily, the Grim in front of her were rather small and concentrated within the room. That said, the Grim must be dealt with before they become stronger.
Despite the risk of being seen, Ruby finds a way inside the room through the open window.
Reaching into her bag, she brings out what looked like a small wooden branch with a single red rose at the tip.
Ruby closes her eyes as energy in the form of a red light begin to form at the rose.
Ruby then swings the branch once from side to side, sending a crescent wave of rose petals at the mist, blowing away and purifying the dark mist that fill the room, leaving behind the area cleansed with a pleasant scent. The force of the wave also blew some of the papers off the desk.
Already tired from her long day of searching and taking care of the Grim, Ruby slowly lands on the desk, farthest from the human, before falling asleep.
The wind feel nice tonight.
In another part of the city, a yellow light moves high above the buildings. This light came from another fairy named Yang. The fairy had purple-colored eyes and long blonde hair that reach down her waist. Her yellow wings were clear and had a design of scales and flames. She was wearing a yellow and orange poncho that covered her whole body and a sun hat.
On most nights, human are usually asleep, so it was somewhat quiet. Still, Yang enjoyed the calmness of the night and looking at the stars. While she had been in the human world for some time, Yang recently moved to this area in order to find more things to do. It helps that this city is a hub to a fairy community.
As she hovers a little higher into the air, she suddenly stops her in her flight.
Oh my stars, what is that?!
The fairy could see dark smoke spewing out from a certain area of the upper level of a building.
That's not good, Yang said, who starts to fly at a fast speed to reach the place.
When she enters the room that was the source of the smoke, Yang had to use her sleeve to cover her mouth.
The room was infested with vapor-like Grim, making it hard to breathe for any living being.
Taking a look around, Yang saw an unconscious person laying on the bed, a young woman with long black hair, wearing a black yukata. There was a pair of cat ears on top of the woman's head.
A faunus? Yang said.
Knowing that the longer the Grim lingers, the more danger the woman was in, Yang bring out two branches from her bag, holding one with each hand.
While aiming at the Grim cloud, the tip of the branches was glowing a bright yellow light.
Take this! Yang said with a confident smile as spheres of light were shot out one after another like bullets in a rapid fire.
The scattered shots land on the nearby Grim, writhing violently as it burns from the light until they dissolve completely.
After clearing the room of the Grim, Yang puts away her branches and went to check on the faunus, where she notices that something was wrong.
The woman was sweating profusely, her skin flushed and her breathing hoarse.
Cautiously, Yang puts a hand on the woman's forehead, which was hot to the touch.
Oh nuts! You're burning up! Yang said in a quiet voice as to not disturb the woman, hastily retracting her hand. I got to get that fever down somehow.
Looking around the room, the fairy saw a glass cup, half filled with water on the desk. Moving fast, Yang carried the glass (that was the same height as her) to the bed.
Here, drink, Yang said, slowly and gently tilt the glass for the water towards the woman's lips.
Thankfully, water was able to flow into the mouth with ease.
Seeing the woman gulping down the water, Yang gave the faunus a few more sips before putting the glass on the table across the bed before flying to the kitchen.
In spite how small the fairy was, Yang didn't have any trouble lifting a wide porcelain bowl to the nearby sink and turning on the faucet, allowing the cold water to fill the bowl. After turning off the water and moving the bowl close to the bed, she finds a small blue hand towel (that was wider than her) and dips it into the water. After reining the excess water, Yang rest the towel on the woman's forehead. She change the towel a few times for a several minutes.
I guess this will have to do for now, Yang said as she wipes the sweat from her own forehead. By then, the faunus was looking a little better and breathing more steadily.
Seeing that she has done all that she could for the stranger, Yang decides to take a short nap to recuperate her energy. Finding an empty space near a small stack of books, she brings out a white futon from her bag.
The fairy lays on the futon and, with a big yawn, closes her eyes before there were only soft breaths coming from her.
How will these fateful encounters set the stage for things to come?
I don't know when updates will come, so stay tuned.
