Hello, dear reader, before we start this story there's a bit of exposition that I, the author, will have to shove down your throat. Yes, there's probably better ways to go about this, but still, I digress. First impressions are important, are they not? First off, I'll go over the team you'll be following to start, and then the oh so colorful cast making up said team.
Team DAIS is the name of this lovely team, and if there was a single word to use to describe them it would be eccentric. The team is compromised of orphans, bastards, misfits, and one mostly normal guy who somehow got roped into it all. They're extremely skilled fighters in most scenarios, and all have rather powerful semblances. The issue is that almost none of them have managed to fully grasp their powers, and are working with watered down versions of themselves. Don't worry, they should figure it out… eventually…
Anyways, due to most of the students within this team having connections to the staff, they do have rather interesting living arrangements, but that's about it for special treatment. It starts and ends with each of them having their own room, and the reasons for such will be explained shortly. With a little overview of the team, I should give a little bit of insight on each of the members.
The D in DAIS is Doge Canicus. The self proclaimed "Ringleader of the Circus." Doge stands at a tall 6'3", a decent height for someone who only recently turned 16. He has long-ish curly brown hair, along with pale bluish-grey eyes. His pale complexion and bags under his eyes really drive home the fact that he's an insomniac who finds more comfort in solidarity than anything else. So, it's rather complicated, but Doge has something resembling an Uncle-Nephew connection with Ozpin, due to Ozpin being good friends with his late parents. Doge has been raised on campus from the age of 5, and it shows in his combat prowess, and lack of social skills with people his age. Of course he's had a bit of time to work on that recently, but still, it occasionally shines through for the worse. His semblance, "Pheonix's Fury," gives him a multitude of pyrokinetic capabilities. He can create and manipulate flames to use as weapons, he can infuse weapons or armor with flaming aura to enhance his weapons, and he can extinguish fires rapidly. There's a plethora of other ways that he can use the energy of his aura, fires, etc to bend a fight to his will that he simply hasn't figured out yet, too. Whenever his semblance is active, he is nigh invulnerable to heat and flames, but whenever it's off he's only a bit more resilient than the average person. As for his weapon, he wields "Hell's Retriever," a Gladius to break action double barrel shotgun mechashift weapon, and the gauntlets that are a part of his armor serve as a backup. Granted his fighting style usually has him using both interchangeably.
Oh, and before I forget, Doge here is going to be your narrator for a majority of the story. I, the author, will occasionally swoop in whenever he cannot narrate parts of the story due to him not being there, or being incapacitated, or simply unable to fulfill the role properly.
A is Levi Amaranth. He's a 17 year old boy who stands at an impressive 6'7". He has red eyes, shoulder length red hair, and paper white skin. A bunch of freckles and such adorn his face and body. His semblance, "Overclock," does more or less exactly what it sounds like. Using his aura he can overclock his body, giving him greater speed, durability, and endurance. By touching someone who's willing, he can apply a weaker version of this onto someone else, but it isn't always beneficial as while Levi's body has adapted to being put under such stress, others have not. Levi's body grows more adept to handle his semblance, meaning that over time he'll be able to stay "Overclocked" for longer and longer periods. Levi wields "Zum Sieger," a maul and machine gun mechashift weapon. He also incorporates kickboxing into his fighting style, oddly enough.
The I is represented by Jade Ivy. She's a 16 year old freakishly tall 7'8" rabbit faunus with dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and caramel brown skin. Jade is… an odd one, to say the least. It isn't unfounded, mind you, as her past is arguably the most traumatic out of anyone else on the team. Don't worry, it'll be explained in much better detail down the line. Her semblance, "Nature's Sovereignty," allows her to manipulate plant life, and form other natural materials such as wood, stone, and soil. Effectively, anywhere that Jade is can become her home turf in the blink of an eye. This power doesn't come without drawbacks, however, as the more aura she uses, the more her mind reverts to an almost animalistic state, meaning that she'll lose the ability to differentiate friend and foe if pushed far enough. Jade, unlike the rest of her team, doesn't have a weapon. She fights with her lefts and rights, but that's about it.
Last but certainly not least, the S is for Lukas Sinclair. He's a 16 year old 5'8" dark blond haired and blue eyed "pretty boy." Lukas has lived at Beacon for two years, and he and Doge see each other as blood brothers. Lukas' past is shroud in mystery for a multitude of reasons, but he won't be able to keep up his charade forever. His semblance, "Jolt," makes his body constantly produce electricity that can be put into several different uses. He can amplify his body and/or mind with the electricity for greater general abilities, or fire it off with attacks. There's a bit of an issue, however. Due to his body always doing something with the electricity and having no way to effectively store it, he's constantly burning through calories and energy. It gets worse as he pushes himself further and further, not really being an issue so long as his semblance isn't being used much. The short term solution that Lukas came up with is to constantly have a thermos of strong coffee on him at all times. It works, to his credit. As for Lukas' weapons, he has an unnamed telescopic baton, and a dagger named "Solace." Granted, Lukas is always looking for new weapons to add to his arsenal, seeing as he doesn't exactly have a specific fighting style,
Now that you have a rough idea of each of these glorified child soldiers, I'll let Doge take it away with Chapter One.
